    Whoops! I said I upgraded to a Ryzen 5700X but I actually got a 5800X! Not a big issue but just wanted to clear that up :)

    I tried Windows 11 in the first few weeks but ended up going back to Windows 10. I liked the new UI and app changes. However, it did experience some performance loss in gaming on an Intel machine. Apart from that setting default apps is a mess. I had a few minor issues with explorer which seemed like something that doesn't happen to everyone. It wasn't saving folder type viewing options and constantly resetting to default. Anyway I ended up going back mostly for the performance. I do expect to try it again after the next major update.
    I fully agree with the points you made about the Microsoft account though. I ended up making one just to sign in to Windows setup and then delete it after setup. Nowadays I have Pro on everything so I don't expect to have to do it again.

      Windows 11 felt a little rushed to me just to get out a "fresh new UI" with more locked down stuff like default browser settings and such. Like AMD performance issues - how could they not have tested at least on one modern AMD Ryzen system to pick up on it? Or, in your case, not pick up the performance issues on an Intel system? And just stupid things like explorer settings resetting for you, and I heard many stories of explorer just straight up crashing for others. So annoying.
      I'm glad you were able to work around the Microsoft account thing in a sense. It just angers me a lot, I could go on forever about it and it just comes off as malicious to me so as to either get most people to just go Microsoft account, or if you care about it then you'll spend more on a Pro license. I hate it so much lol.

    Good video. Did you have a chance to see if WSL runs better in Win11 than in 10? Thanks.

      Thanks! And sadly no, it's not something I use so I didn't think about it 😬

      @@BitGoblin - I'm wondering if MS is having second thoughts on making it better(?). Imagine if you can get a full-GUI Linux distro to work in Windows... I wonder how many would just use that.

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      I kinda think that's their plan for WSL tbh. I know there are at least some users that like having a Linux machine to use some tools that only run or run better on Linux. But if MS can alleviate that by running those tools on WSL, that could remove that need

    dude you should take care of the popping sounds! I can hear sudden pops,clicks feels like an naked wire is touching some metal surface.

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому +1

      Hmm, interesting. I never noticed that before and I'm not hearing any popping sounds on my source clips, but now that I'm listening for them I can hear them on the rendered videos. I'll have to figure out what the cause is... but thanks for pointing that out!

    My thoughts on Windows 11 is "not fit for power user purpose". The ex-Windows 10X GUI has been designed by kids, for kids (aka chromebook) users. I'll stick to W10 on the gaming rig and Linux (Debian) on my 'daily driver'.

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      I get the same vibe from windows 11 not being for power users, but I think that's okay. It's a solid OS, just not for me :)

    Windows 11 dark mode look nice. I have tested all the major browsers and Edge is kind of faster than the other browsers even though they all are built in chromium engine. Firefox was the slowest. Overall, windows 11 way better than 10. Btw, I use ARCH as my daily driver. :)

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      The dark mode isn't for me personally, the light mode is just easier for me to read. And honestly all of the browsers are fast enough for me these days that I just stick with Firefox. But to each their own of course 😁
      Lol, love the Arch usage.

    Really does depend on your computer specs, tried it on my gtx 1050 laptop before I put it on my new laptop and the ui looks beautiful but performance was awful even with me having the minimum requirements, eventually trying it for my rtx 3080 intel core I9 and feels amazing, but simple features like drag and drop doesn't work unless you open app with admin so In a couple of months might be more appealing to go back to windows 11

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      Indeed. Seems like there's still some bits that need optimized that can be made up for if you have higher end hardware but starts to choke itself without it

    Is the memory leak bug still present? my pc is good but i heard windows 11 is good for gaming thinking of upgrading tbh

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      Are you referring to the File Explorer memory leak issue? Honestly, I didn't realize it was a thing til I just looked it up lol, but it looks like it's still a thing at least in my testing, though it hasn't affected me on my system with 32GB of RAM.
      I'd suggest upgrading to Windows 11 and seeing if it really affects you in your usage. Microsoft gives you a 10 day grace period to revert back to Windows 10, so if it does cause you problems then you can go back.

    It's garbage? W10/11 is what pushed me over the edge to try linux for gaming. It's also why I subscribed to you as you have some linux content.

      It's not all bad, there are some things Windows does well. I just wish MS weren't so anti-consumer with a lot of things. This whole thing where they're forcing even Pro users to login with a Microsoft account is obnoxious! I might try to fully switch to Linux sometime soon...
      I still really appreciate the sub btw! :D

    Tbh, at first, I didn’t like Edge because of its predecessor, Internet Explorer. Hehe. But Edge is really stable, faster, and lighter compared to Chrome (always crashes) and Firefox (very system heavy).

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      Heh, I'll probably try Edge at some point as Firefox is slowly becoming more and more annoying. Why can't there just be at least one browser that runs well enough, has at least some basic bookmarks/settings sync, is multi-platform, privacy-friendly and isn't annoying?

      Brave is your best bet for a browser. Been using it for 2 years and I’ve never looked back

    The software is getting more slow each release. We have freaking fast transistors and ssds jet it takes minutes for windows to install a few mb of updates.
    That microsoft forces to a specific hardware stack only shows that they now their and others software is poorly developed.

    • @BitGoblin
      @BitGoblin  2 роки тому

      I agree, it's kinda sad honestly that every release and even with some of the feature updates Windows always seems to get more bloated and slower. And honestly I hadn't thought about it, but that could definitely be a reason why they're requiring newer systems to upgrade to Windows 11 - they obviously never would publicly announce it but I can see that.
