  • At 30 years old, Jasmine Taylor found herself with $60,000 worth of student loan debt and $9,000 in credit card and medial debt. Determined to get her finances back on track, she researched budgeting methods and found cash stuffing online. Two years later, cash stuffing has not only gotten Jasmine out of debt but also made her a very successful business owner. Baddies And Budgets brought in $850,000 in 2022 and is on track to hit $1 million in 2023.

This young woman also constantly thinks of others. She has no kids of her own, but always prioritizes her nieces. She has an envelope just for them and gifted one niece $10k. She even has an envelope labeled "help a human"---before her business blew up. She's pretty amazing.

I lived with a wealthy family for a while but no adult in my life ever taught me how to manage my own money, only kept mum or gave vague advice like "work hard, save more, spend less". It wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I started having interest in investing and financial management only because I found other people in my age range having that kind of interest on Discord. It helped make the subject feel less like a foreign concept to me as I'm slowly learning about this stuff and trying to make sense of it on my own.

@@ykook7000 Not completely true. I learned a bit about finances and savings in an 8th grade life studies class. I thought it was interesting and learned how to save some money, but my parents thought it was mumbo jumbo cuz they were stuck in their poverty mindset. Now at age 28, I’ve been implementing some of those saving techniques from that class and other sources, and have been able to cut our grocery bill in half, save on bills by cutting out things we don’t use or need, thinking twice before making a “want” purchase, etc. If my parents had taken my desire to save seriously then maybe we wouldn’t still be so poor even now. I started doing that almost two decades ago. But, I didn't call it anything. I got a coupon organizer from Big Lots and withdrew cash each month for the items I needed cash for like hair or food. If a particular category ran out of money or had extra I could roll it into another category or borrow from a category but I COULD NOT withdraw anymore money or swipe a card for any of the categories. It really forced me to think about how I was spending cash and how that affected my overall spending. I didn't feel constrained; all my wants as well as needs were met. It became motivating to either spend exactly what was in the pouch or have a little left over. I'm so glad it's a thing! I haven't done this in a few years so I'm going to order some of her products to get going again. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
