    Costs are £30 from gamekeeper at house in Leadhills for Lowther estates best river Elvanfoot which has recorded largest amount of ounce nuggets. Main area spoilt by illegal dredging, My intrest is the massive quartz boulders (the gold in them makes themextra strong) As you got a licence it means you get gold and can sell it.Edinburgh jewellers were paying the goldmine £4500 a ounce. Id suggest you sell at Tescogoldonline for 90% of regular gold price.

      Cheers buddy for sharing the info. I have met a fellow prospector up at the area you mentioned and was shown some of their collection. It was amazing. I guess it helps to be local and able to revisit some sections and carry on from where you left off until you get down to bedrock.

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Andrew. You can get a permission from the Leadhills Estate and the estate that manages Wanlockhead to pan in their rivers, the same too at Baile an Or. Other locations seem to accept that it goes on but it is important to keep the places tidy when you leave.

And 1 last thing is there gold in Wigan in the north west of England do you think? It's my home town and would love to start down the road if you thought there was a chance pal. • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  4 роки тому +2

      Hello Lee, It's not that much . Most people find a lot of gold and good gold too by going back to the same spot over several days and weeks. I go off the rule that after a few hours panning - if you can see it , you are doing ok.
      I have heard about people finding alluvial gold (specs) on the Wirral but I recommend you do some research around Anglezarke near Horwich . I think the Romans mined for lead in them parts.

    Hey! Ive watched a lot of gold prospecting shows recently and I'm interested in panning as a hobby and to make a little money, just to cover the cost of a kit, have you got any tips and recommend gear for panning, I'm pretty young as well so I could use some pointers about where to mine.
    Thanks!

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  4 роки тому +2

      Hello Will. I would recommend you get a nice Garret gold panning kit which includes a classifier a small pan and a larger pan and a snuffer bottle. They are about £40 I think. Start off with that and build up your kit as you see fit and also in what direction you want to go with it. Practice panning with sand and a couple of small fishing weight to learn how to keep the heavy materials in the bottom of the pan. You might want a large rucksack too. Be mindful though that it is a dangerous hobby with fast flowing water and slippery rocks where there is little or no phone signal. Always take a first aid kit.Good luck buddy

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the comments. I tend to focus on getting the sluices level from left to right and then look at the flow going through the sluice. I find with these 2 sluices that you need to work with them and tweek them to get the best looking exchange in the riffles. The green sluice can be a bit tricky if it isn't set up just right as it won't clear the material quick enough off the top mat or, it will clog up at the end. They do how ever both catch super fine gold and work with high or steady flow rates. At the end of the day you get to know what will work with your particular set ups.

    I'm interested in panning for gold but how do I find out if its legal or not?

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  3 роки тому +2

      It is legal if you find places with permission. You can pan on the Mennock at Wanlockhead with permission if you google it there will be a link.

      www.goldpanningsupplies.co.uk/ try this link instead, I think Ruthless mining has stopped making the sluices at the moment. You could also try this link too rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163787004587.

    Study a bit the bazuca sluice. Is easy to build a replica and improving't goes with experience . Loads of more material processed .

    How much do you get for your gold? And where do you sell it? I’m not going to start gold digging, I’ll just watch the videos. Should be on tv

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  6 років тому +2

      Hi, I don't do anything with the gold. I don't weigh it or value it either because there isn't really enough to make it worth while . It is simply a great hobby and you never know what will turn up in the pan. Thanks for the comments though and the interest it is much appreciated. If you have any mates who are keen cyclist and gold prospectors then please share lol.

    Do you need permission or a licence to mine on that land

      Hello FreezinFury I guess if you were to mine on any land you would need a license . On this particular river the agencies tend to accept that recreational panning is a tradition that has gone on for many years without a permission.

    I use the same G. pan kit, but after I bought the G. super sluice, all the other stay at home. Amazing large bottom and deep rifles, super quick cleaning, I made a contraption in L shape fixed the s. sluice to the bottom and got a kind of a "rocker", wich I place at my side just by the surface, and const. ading material and shake( I keep going until is half full with black sand).
    Till this moment I ad no prob. but in some places I may have, if people think Im "sluicing". So I just show them the pan.

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  5 років тому

      Sounds like you have a good set up there buddy. I take it you are sluicing in a location where they prefer you to pan only.

    Do you need any special permissions to do this in UK? I read that gold mining isn't aloud as it will ruin the environment being worked on and the gold its all owned by the Crown or something like that.

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures

      Hello, Some places seem to have been ok with it going on for years Lloyd and other places you can get permits for the day to have a pan in the water.

      Hi Stuart. I wrote your number on a piece of paper down at the caravan whilst on me jollies so hope I can find where I put it lol. Yes Cornwall would be a great place to get down to and make a nice video. I spent year after year from March to September in Cornwall until recently. We stayed near Goonhavern and hammered it on family holidays. So many great memories and happy times. I do miss the place. Loved it when I cycled there last year on my John o' groats to Land's end bike ride.
