  • A few days gold prospecting around the Tyndrum area before heading down to Leadhills for the DT PROSPECTING gold panning workshop. A big shout out to old faces and new that made it such an enjoyable time - Stef Hodson, James Linnett, Tam Stansfield, Paul Wells, Rab & Rachael Campbell, Scott Weatherall and Narla.
    Awesome people, awesome weather, awesome countryside and scenery and some nice gold. Good week all round.

    I had no idea you could get such good gold in British rivers. Thats so impressive!! I love the pump by the way, makes life much easier.. I've spend hundreds on metal detectors etc and found nothing down here in Spain...

    • @dmtstuff
      @dmtstuff  3 роки тому

      Hi Chris, most of the time you mainly find very small gold but there are a few rivers that produce decent sized bits. It's just a matter of finding the ones that aren't well know. There is supposed to be some good gold areas in Spain - put the detector away, get a pan and do some prospecting! Then get the detector out 😉
      I guarantee you love working gravels

    Great video and many thanks for sharing. I have been planning on going panning for gold in Scotland and have been searching online the best places to go but, there seems to be a lot of rules and regulations on where I can or in most cases cannot do it legally or without permission. Is there places I can actually do gold panning in Scotland and am I able to sell any gold I may find? Don't get me wrong I enjoy it as a hobby but would also like to make money on any potential gold I find without any trouble from land owners etc. Any advice and recommendations would be much appreciated, many thanks.

    • @dmtstuff
      @dmtstuff  2 роки тому

      The 3 licenced areas are leadhills, wanloch head (both areas side by side) and further north is helmsdale. Anywhere else you'll need landowners permission (although they can't give you permission to take any gold you find!)
      Pine trees caravan park at tyndrum will let you pan in the river there. I don't know about selling any gold. Legally it's belongs to the crown estate and for the amount you'll find there wouldn't be much value in it anyway

    I have 2 locations if you're interested? One very high mineral dry riverbed being wiped out by a massive new construction site, gold every 3 minutes, dry finds, nugget found a few days ago by another person, and one with quartz and a lode band, surface, 70 miles apart.
    Both former high activity volcanic sites, extinct volcanoes in scotland.
    The construction site will be gone in about 6 months.
    I can post you some in the mail, there's so much gold that people have gotten to the point at looking at it, deciding they will find bigger and dropping it and walking away from it...
    Dozens of match head sized pickers every day, rocks loaded through with flecks as well, one big nugget found probably an ounce and a bit.
    Message me and I will make sure you can get access to both sites, it's a 2 day visit for sure, one needs to be a Saturday and thee other can be any day of the week as its isolated..
    I can send photos for you to look at, and have asked about testing, sso you can have that too if I get it tested for 100% proof.

      Everyone's been there at some point mate. Try new rivers, new methods and persevere... There's one river we go to that I know has produced good gold for others but took us a few trips until we found anything - but when we did find gold it was some good sized stuff in an area we'd walked straight by many times. Keep on with it and you'll find a good spot eventually.

      From what I've read its illegal in certain parts (Mainly because of environmental destruction) U need a license/permission to pan anywhere in Scotland. The Pine Trees caravan park states on their website that if u stay there then ur welcome to pan the river next to it. I've yet to ask them if we can pan the river without staying there and maybe purchase a license from them for however long we wish to pan there. I don't see why that would be a problem but worth asking before going there. I think Strathfillan wigwams allows gold panning on their site again with a license/permission. Always worth contacting them prior to visiting :)
