Nice one Daz! Stunning location. It's what it's all about the big switch off and taking it all in. Just can't beat sluicing when the setup is perfect. 🌟💪
Sure thing Chevsy. I arrived at this spot well after 11am having spent the early morning watching the Red kites gliding above the campsite. No phone signal, no internet and heaps of solitude. The few specs of gold were a bonus 👍
Hi Daz when I was a lad I loved getting on my bike and go to a little river fishing ,It was paradise .To be on your own and let the rest of the world disappear, watching your video I'm chilled big time it brings back memories thanks 😊
Yes I know what you mean pal. My dad used to get me up early on the weekends and take me fishing when I was a little boy. It was being nurtured like this and being shown what life should be all about, is why I am the person I am today. Happy on my own doing my own thing and being at one with nature 👍
@mouldytbags They are pretty good yes and were designed to catch the smaller gold like what we find in our rivers. A few of my friends use similar designs and they trust them. I'd do frequent clean ups though if the riffles get full of heavies. Some people prefer dream mats nowadays too but a sluice is only as good as the ground that you are working.
What a fantastic hobby daz like you said. It's about being out in the river just hearing that flow while you're enjoying yourself. It must have such a positive effect on your well-being. Can't wait for the next one, daz don't ever stop making these amazing videos matey 🤓🙌🏽
Thank you so much Jay. If retiring tomorrow was an option then I really would be handing my cards in because I'd never be bored and when I'm at the river all the day to day humdrum routines and work related nonesense really does disappear. The Great Outdoors has always been my first place go to, to press the re-set button. It's the simple things which make all the difference 👍
@MrDazP1adv3ntures I can't agree more daz all work does is pay the bills for me now and put food on the table. I got caught up in wanting to be the big man in work with the money. I had an incident happen in work, and it'd changed my whole perspective. Health is the real wealth you take care matey 👊🏽
@jaywhitney789 100% I am never off work Jay but my career came to an abrupt end a year ago. Still plodding on there but in a different role. It does exactly what you say. It pays the bills and I look forward to the end of each shift to ride my bike home and can't wait for the weekends 😉👍
Ah, so relaxing. I can't wait to get out there again. I can't explain why! - I guess it must be genetic🤣 Probably next year for me, unless we get some unusually good conditions in September. Thanks for this episode - super pace and style!
Yes that's right buddy, I have tried to look at the sluice in more detail on subsequent trips and have realised that I could do with a better macro lens camcorder soley to for this purpose. The top mat is only the indicator 👍
It flashes by us way too quick buddie. The waters stay warm though through to October and then it's time to wear two pairs of socks. Keep on getting out my friend, that nugget is there waiting for you to find it. 😉👍
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures thanks Daz, really enjoy watching everyone’s content in the uk, lots to learn. Still holding out for my first nugget or picker 😅 have to earn my name sooner than later.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures watching your videos till I was falling asleep last night 😁 I'm very intrigued would definitely have to do some research and start getting together some things I'd need, would amazon stock what you need or can you recommend a specific sight for me to check out please many thanks Neil
@NKL_FISHING Hi, there are quite a few places you could try in the UK. There's always kit on Ebay too. Try this link though, I hope it helps www.goldpanningsupplies.co.uk/
Blimmey, how do you carry all that lot on ya bike, only joking 😂. We used to do some Mudlarking, bottle digging, and river larking on our older videos. If ya ever come across any old Victorian pottery near ya rivers. Give us a shout 👍🏻😊😊
If you find iron or lead on the section you are working, this indicates that the heavies are dropping out of the flow. Such as gold... Glass will also take a similar line on the river 👌 As a kid I used to find clay pipes from the navies who built the canal near me.
Yes Rob, either way, I think we all need to escape from some of the nonesense that has krept in to our daily lives. I'd like to plead ignorance is bliss but this allows more nonesense to prevail 🤔👍😊
Hi Daz I think it’s about time you and Mick got out and made some cycling 🚴 videos… it’s been too long without any videos… come on shake a leg and get going 🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Hi Tony, I have a few videos from the back end of last season and from this season to edit. But I have to be faithful to my gold panning community too. Maybe I have reached that point where I start a new channel for cycling only ? Nevertheless, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and please bare with me. I will get back to making more cycling content 😉
Hi Dan, I don't sell the gold that I find. Some people put 0.25g of panned gold into a bag of river gravels (500g) and sell it at around £27 per bag of "Pay dirt" for the enthusiast to pan all the gold out again. Therefore they are selling gold at over £100/gram. The current spot price for gold is £61/g So even finding a few specs on a session at the river, could probably be classed as about £6 based on finding 0.1g
Yep 3885, it's not for the profit, but more to answer the call of the wild, and harmlessly persuade it to give up a tiny bit of it's treasure. Like blackberry picking or fishing.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures ah thanks for replying Daz 👍 in your experience do you think any folk do it just for the financial gain or is it predominantly a hobby?
Hi Dan, from my experiences, I have met many people who are enthusiasts and love the great out doors as recreational panners. They all share a passion and a quest to learn about how the gold came to be. From my perspective, it's not about the money. There always will be others who see things in a different light though. But you get that in all walks of life.
Gold is at around £62/gram at present. It is possible to find a gram in a day but you need good ground and to work hard at it. I wouldn't know who to sell gold to and how to go about it. I go panning for gold for the pure pleasure of it. It is priceless. For me it's all about the sense of adventure and the great outdoors.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures oh of course I see the allure of it. I love the outdoors and feel I'd love to do it just for discovery. But surely getting all that from it, then also cashing in, maybe after you've collected so much over many trips would be a pleasant bonus
You can pan for gold recreationally on this burn with a permit. It's interesting though when visitors attractions around the country offer panning activities but they may not have the mineral rights to any potential gold found.
It's nice to see someone with an authentic accent find gold a bit closer to home (not australia). 👌🤜
Thank you 👍

Great wee example of a day's gold panning. More gold than you started with, so that's a win.
As you know, there's nothing extravagant about gold panning, You end up wet, dirty, often cold but the sense of adventure is priceless buddy 👍
Hiya Daz it’s the first video I’ve watched of yours, you certainly look more relaxed here than you do at work, your videos look mint too 👍👍
