Yes, and when the same “great female lawyer” loses to a B-list MCU character because she tries to directly violate the US Constitution, she has the gaul to say she doesn’t need education in the profession that requires a much higher level of professional ethics than being a floozy office girl shaking her butt.
My favorite moment in the show will always be when she gets super angry at someone who didn't don anything wrong while explaining how excellent she is at controlling her anger.
@@sh-hg4eg "she had a bad line in the first episode, the whole series is garbage. But not because shes a woman, if it were just written better I'd have no problem with it. And maybe if she wasn't like, so much of a woman I'd be ok with it too"

This She-Hulk series, "Head writer" Jessica Gao, regarding her statements, she just proved that she has the mentality and emotions of a petulant 12-year-old child. Someone needs to tell her that it is not the Marvel fans' fault that she did not get a date at high school prom. I'll bet that still bothers her to this very day. All saw that reflected on that horror She-Hulk series.
Oh, she got a date on prom night alright. And probably pumped and dumped. And again and again and again after that. That's how bitter Karen's get made. They chase the bad boys, who pump and dump them, then in their 30's they hit the wall, bad boys are no longer interested and suddenly all men are now trash.
I rather enjoy the interviews with writers of these woke shows. It shows just how creatively and comically void they are. They are evidence of the effect of gold stars for art resulted in. Participation trophies for kids with no creative talent have given us these writers once they grew up. It only makes sense. They were horrible in school, and they are horrible in the professional field. They are talentless, comically void, and worthless.
If they actually knew anything about She-Hulk they'd have known what a beloved character she was. And hey, maybe they did know and just didn't care, they wanted to take her away from the fanboys. That scene of her talking down to Bruce about all her "woes" was the highlight of idiocy.
My theory is that they take existing characters they KNOW fans adore, and turn them into something like this just to say that if you don’t like the “modern” version of these characters that reflect our “current culture” then you’re a bad person. It backfires because it just proves the point that the general public DOES like characters like a female superhero. They just don’t like Disney’s version of them.
Yup. A poll between this rubbish and the version of She-Hulk from the 1996 animated series - or that shortlived Fantastic 4 series in the 00's - ...would be decisive.
Yeah, I brought up that it seemed unearned when compared to the crap Bruce had gone through. He lost his career, love of his life, any form of normalicy, was so depressed he actually tried to kill himself, lost years of his life to the Hulk, but she has to deal with annoying men, which it had already been established she had no problem with. I was told by a chest thumping male feminist that everything she said is true and women get dismissed and disrespected all the time and have it so much harder than men.I pointed out unless you count the fact men are more likely to be murdered, go to prison, serve in active coma at zones, less likely to finish high school, go to college, and on and on.
I think it is telling that in a seven or eight episode television show, that the writing was cobbled together at the last minute, and written reactively, that the showrunner was able to actually put in topical “gotchas.” These morons had absolutely no idea of what they were doing or what they wanted to do with this character or IP
Right?!? It's a true talent how they manage to cherry pick history. Black Panther was the first black superhero film and men hate female leads. Like you say, Jessica Jones was really well liked. Sigourney Weaver as Ripley is a f'ing national treasure. Blade happened. Three times! There are many, many more examples, but I'm at work and distracted lol.
Notice how they didn't have Jessica Jones doing a cameo? Her issues with Kilgrave would have made She-Hulk crying about evil men look even more laughable.
In a nutshell, they are pulling the classic move every narcissist makes Poke the bear, the bear reacts, "OH SEE! I? TOLD YOU THEY WERE REALLY THE BAD GUYS THE WHOLE TIME!"
I like how proud they were to accurately have predicted the response to the show. It's like me accurately predicting that someone will get pissy if I spit in their face. I don't exactly need to be Cassandra to see that one coming.
They don't care about us because they know we will come back for a huge crossover event. Now they want to pull in other demographics like Twitter feminists and anti men groups. These groups watch out of spite.
“Lol. I totally knew that when I grabbed that woman’s ass on the street she would turn around and slap me, and her boyfriend would beat me up. I’m so good at what I do.”
They know it's going to suck beforehand, so they weirdly pre-empt it by attacking first, so when it does (as they knew it would) suck, they can just say "Not our fault"
Exactly! And people on twitter acted like it was some revolutionary moment in TV history. They brazenly declared how prophetic this was from the writers.

Maslany and Gao knew exactly what they were doing when they gave that interview. They knew they weren't getting a second season so they instead decided to just give a giant middle finger to everyone beyond the one that the show gave. Maslany herself said in an interview that she doesn't think there's a chance they'll get a second season, hence why they're not afraid of outright attacking the fans and audience now.
@@Matt-dk3wl By all rights it should be, but this isn't 10 or 15 years ago. These days Hollywood and Disney thrives on gaslighting and evoking anger from the audience. It won't end their careers but it was just enough to prevent another season because the 1st one was so poisonous.
It's probably been mentioned before, but I don't remember this kind of negative backlash in any way when Jessica Jones premiered. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it was very well received, and didn't treat the men in its audience like garbage. It also made good use of its limited budget.

Gotta wonder how big the toilet Disney built to flush such huge amounts of cash down the toilet. Maybe that will be a new Disney theme park attraction. "Flush your cash down this toilet just like our corporate overlords do"
From my understanding, there are a LOT of horror stories from people who worked on this show, mainly in the VFX department, where they were poorly paid yet worked lots of overtime, because they were forced to create VFX sequences in mere days when normally entire months would be given. I don't just mention this because it explains how bad some of the CGI was, but also because it must be SO WONDERFUL to find out that this miserable experience (which made some leave the industry altogether) was solely an act of Corporate Trolling!
I think there are a lot of people like me, who enjoy watching videos like this a lot more than an actual show like She Hulk or Rings of Power. I will never give those terrible shows a second of my time (even to "hate watch"), and I don't discuss them with other people, even in a negative way. Channels like Dave's, the Drinker's, Nerdrotic's and Doomcock's are a lot more fun than the actual shows. If hollweird ever gets its act together and decides to simply make entertaining shows again, I guess I'll go back to watching them, but for the time being, this is more fun.
I am with you! I never watched nerdrotic until house of the dragon and I stayed because it was so enjoyable seeing their views of rings of power, rather spend an hour watching them rant about it than watch the actual show haha
Hollywood is dead. Whenever something good comes out it is more fluke then design. I'm waiting for alternatives like the Daily Wire and independents to get their act together. Or foreign cinema. There's a lot of good movies coming out of India lately. They seem eager to please their audience rather then troll it. Why continue to spend money on people that hate you? Without respect we reject and if we do not reject we will never get any respect.
I’ve watched a few of these but not the show itself, I had zero interest in it and even less now, I’ve generally gone off marvel though as a result of this hate baiting fans.
What a pity they didn’t think to give Angie Harmon this role years ago. I read that she would have loved to do it at some point in her career and I think she’d have done a really great job. I’ve only watched her in episodes of Rizzoli and Isles (which I know is a very different type of show) but I love how she marries femininity and power. She’s a strong woman (but not physically stronger than her male counterparts) and she’s also nurturing and not afraid to cry, and the way she shows empathy seems so authentic to me. That’s what a real female hero should be, showing her strength as a woman which is different from the strength of a man, not better or worse, but different and complementary.

For example, Nerdrotic and his orbiters would very occasionally mention The Expanse, or The Boys, or The Orville. But they would never stop to talk about those shows or run features on why they are worthwhile. They didn't talk at all about Supercrooks (which was great) or Raised By Wolves (mixed), or about Stargirl (now in its third season, the least woke superhero show on the CW because of Geoff Johns), or The Hyperions (a Daily Wire movie) and they're certainly not mentioning Darna, which is running right now in the Philippines (and the star actresses are coming to Vegas on Nov 5, so there's an American audience for it, too).

I grew up reading She-Hulk comics (I was born in 1977)... She struggled with her anger and her ability to change just like Bruce did. Over time, she accepted what she now was and became Jen and She-Hulk at the same time, years before Bruce did in the comics... She also wasn't a beaten child at the hands of her insane Father like Bruce was, so she didn't develop a Psychological condition that limited her ability to overcome that hurdle. Still, credit where credit is due. When you think you're smarter than the fans that paid to support a character's development for decades, insult them with shit writing, zero character growth through adversity and then condescend to them while rubbing your own ignorance of said character in their faces, you don't deserve your job. Who was this show for? No one. And it showed us exactly why this mentality has basically destroyed Ghost Busters, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC and Lord of The Rings all in the span of ten years when they were all at the peak of their relevance prior to these writer's involvement. Yet, they blame it all on the fans for "Not getting it"... If you knew you would destroy a fanbase based on previous responses to similar character takes, and you do it anyway...? Then you sound like a Malignant Narcissist.
In a recent interview, the director said they wanted the show to be a 'sex positive' on aimed at children in an article that described the series as 'the horniest show currently streaming on Disney+'. I bet they used that as the basis for the one they had to reshoot as the one we got can hardly be considered an improvement on anything.
Excellent video, Mr. Cullen! I love your ability to delve into any subject analytically and dissect it. Pointing out hypocrisies and flawed thinking is the icing on the cake. 👌
I really gave this show a chance. But calling this a "show" is a stretch of the definition. There is literally no story, plot or character development and thus no reason for anyone to watch it. I wanted to like this at least as a guilty pleasure of mindless popcorn entertainment. But it was so much worse than I could have imagined.
So, they made a show they knew was going to deliberately elicit a certain reaction. They get said reaction and then they say "See! What did we tell you?!" Geniuses.
So they basically set down in the writer’s room and said let’s make a show where we predict the reaction to the show using triggering content that will literally cause what we’re predicting (WHAT IN THE ENTIRE F*CK 😮) 🤦🏾♂️😂🤦🏾♂️😂🤦🏾♂️😂
Want to know why Deadpool worked and She-Hulk didn't? Because Deadpool was made out of love, it only exists because Ryan Reynolds used every ounce of his influence in Hollywood to push for the movie to be made. It only exists because fans went wild over a leaked bit of test footage that he made showing what a Deadpool movie could look like. And even then, the first movie had a slashed budget because Fox wasn't convinced it would be a hit. The point is, Deadpool is the absolute inverse of She-Hulk, it was a labor of love made for the fans, because Ryan Reynolds *IS* a fan and he wanted to give us something we'd enjoy. She-Hulk, conversely, hates it's audience and was made for reasons I can't even understand. It exists to spite us and lecture us. It is an exercise in hubris, a studio that has taken it's fans for granted. If I didn't know any better, I would say the people running the MCU right now actually want the Marvel films to fail so they can be free of it.
The most frustrating part of this is that no matter how many times Disney trolls and insults the fans; those same fans will still line up for the next Avengers movie or tune in for "Secret Invasion", guaranteeing Disney will make another billion dollars off the very people they are mocking. Even if it's called Hate Watching, the MCU will keep making money for putting out crap. They'll laugh their way to the bank while fans continue to give them money to be insulted.
Not sure why people like Dave are still asking why failing studios are provoking a reaction deliberately while BEING the desired reaction giving us all a window into a show we all would have otherwise ignored. Appreciate the commentary mostly but some of the focus on these terrible shows is exactly what the studios want.
AZ from HeelVsBabyFace said it best, She Hulk has by breaking the 4th wall the way it did ruined every movie going all the way back to Iron Man 1 because think about the implications of what they done there. Really think about what it means for all the movies we love. They are all just a studio with a robot behind them so why care about them any more? That's what they wanted by doing this. There’s no getting through to these writers. They’ve built a whole system of reasoning in their head that’s convinced them either everyone loves the show, and those who say otherwise are toxic trolls we prove wrong. Wtf is wrong with these people, and how in the hell were they given this position?
The writers clearly would rather be doing something else but they have to go where the money is so of course they are filled with spite at the people who make this material popular. They want to sink the genre so they can prop up genres that they would prefer to write for.

I had no idea thus was the level of fourth wall break. That is literally Deadpool territory, interacting with the crew and kit. What the writers don't seem to understand is the implications of supersanity. Deadpool is pretty much insane. He's aware of his existence and knows how to interact with his writers. He knows that if his writers want his gf dead, they're not just gonna start drawing her again, but he can force them to draw him sat on his ass for 12 pages til they negotiate. Secondly, Wade Wilson is largely detached from the world. He butts up against it occasionally, but even his alter ego is a serial killer, he's not a lawyer in a major firm. It affords the level of detachment supersanity requires, given that you know your reality is a stage-show. How can you fight for justice when the writers can pull last minute evidence out of their ass to topple your case, just so they can build a narrative? Wade just doesn't like when you're a bigger dick than he is
The only way the writers could predict fans hating the show is if they CAUSE fans to hate the show. They only way they could guarantee that their predictions would come true is if they deliberately wrote a terrible show just to provoke the backlash they predicted. What an awful thing to get a paycheck from Disney to create a Disney show and then deliberately make it terrible just to be right. What's even dumber, predicting fans would hate the show and then making fans hate the show is just as stupid as me saying "I bet that bear will bite me" and then I go poke the bear with a stick until it bites me, then I can say "See, I was right!" It's not a prediction if you then deliberately do everything you can to make it come true. Furthermore, they even did that wrong. If they wanted to prove fans are misogynists, then they need to make that the ONLY thing we could complain about. in other words, if they wrote a great show with awesome characters, good dialog, plenty of action, impressive villains, story arcs, character development... You know, good writing. And then they created that show with good CGI, good actors, good directors, good sets, good costumes, and generally good production values... You know, good quality show creation. If they did all that AND made a female hero and then we all raged about the show, they could point at that one thing, the female hero, and justifiably say we are misogynists because everything else is great. But they didn't do that. They didn't even know how to do that. So they did the opposite of everything I just wrote and when we complain about even one of those things, say, "This show has bad CGI" they shout "Misogynist!" which doesn't even make sense. But that's exactly what they did. They hide behind that misogyny defense for every bit of the bad parts of this show. And the female hero isn't the problem. We LIKE She-Hulk. It's all the rest of the problems that we don't like, but they incorrectly attribute ALL of their mistake to our non-existent misogyny.
She's not all wrong. She's right about engagement. Some people were feeding the beast by giving it way too much attention and letting it matter too much.
We shouldn't watch this shit, but we should let the UA-cam content creators watch it and rip into it for our entertainment. That way the money and viewers are siphoned away so, eventually, Hollywood will get the idea, or die.
It's marvel, the #1 Hollywood franchise currently in the world. This is feminists forcing their way in when comics and superhero are a male genre. They don't care about marvel or shehulk.
I think the ONLY goal of these terrible MCU films /TV series is to cause division. It's not about making money or providing entertainment. Disney want us fighting amongst ourselves.
So true, the fourth wall breaking is a dangerous endeavor and a little bit goes a long way. I've always thought so too and agree that it was wearing thin by the end of Deadpool 2.
Problem with trolling the "trolls" is ,if ur marvel, you're prolly not just trolling trolls ,so much as insulting die hard marvel fans and sending them elsewhere. Stan Lee's gone, we won't return if that happens
That or any bad treatment they've experienced is a result of their own toxic personality and behavior but are too stubborn, prideful, self entitled, and arrogant to accept this. I've known too many women, including within my own family, that fit this mold.
There is also the point that producing a show "everyone can watch" may bring people together, rather than polarizing them. In 1977, after Star Wars, I saw bullies and their victims literally playing together as they shared a common love. To deliberately "mock" an audience base as Jennifer Gao has is the sign of an insecure and frankly, untalented individual....not a champion.
The whole 4th wall breaking with Deadpool and She-Hulk could be explained away through some type of mental trauma. Deadpool had some issues especially when stabbed in the head or just his healing factor constantly in overdrive. The Hulk has a split personality and She-Hulk might have some Schizophrenia where she sees people who aren't really there and talks to them (at least inside her universe) to us we really see it.
She's always broke the fourth, way before Deadpool in the comics. The problem is they used it to say fuck you to people who had legitimate reasons to hate this shit show.
"'The fact that we were able to predict what the reaction was going to be...'" means that they were self-aware enough to course-correct if they had chosen to put the show before themselves. But it was never about She-Hulk.
What got me at the end when I was hearing reviews about it is how she wanted some of the other characters to take were sother characters to take responsibility for their poor choices yes she didn't want to do the same
The big bad villain of their multi-million dollar superhero show ended up being not Dr Doom or Magneto, or The Leader, but 'toxic male fandom' of all things. And the hero defeated their miserable excuse for a villain not by epic battle, but by demanding to speak to the manager. At this point they've pretty much redefined the word 'cringe' to mean 'She Hulk'.
A show from the Karens by the Karens for the Karens that mocks the Fandom and Marvel itself. This is a show so bad that writers room literally self inseted themselves into show then blamed their boss "Kevin" for everything. This show openly mocked the Fandom and the only defenders are those more interested in "owning incels" than making a good series.

Then we learn through the rest of the show that she's an astonishingly incompetent lawyer who likely has had to have a lot explained to her.

Not to mention she gets overly aggressive and angry and the slightest thing
She also complains about being catcalled while also sending the whole episode obsessed about whether Captain America was a virgin or not.
Yes, and when the same “great female lawyer” loses to a B-list MCU character because she tries to directly violate the US Constitution, she has the gaul to say she doesn’t need education in the profession that requires a much higher level of professional ethics than being a floozy office girl shaking her butt.
“Pride always comes before a fall.” I couldn’t agree more.
My favorite moment in the show will always be when she gets super angry at someone who didn't don anything wrong while explaining how excellent she is at controlling her anger.

Gao is also deranged and disgusting---she and Maslany claimed to be making a series 'children could watch.'
And to think Dan Harmon & Justin Roiland wanted her on Rick & Morty's writing team.
Sounds like she has too many soulless tinder hookups and it gave her a negative view on men. But honestly no one should abuse tinder
Like the Razorfist once said: The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. If no one watches it, it will fade away into irrelevancy
They know fans love her because she’s fun and also hot. They can’t allow fun sexy female characters to exist.
The deconstruction is the point. The bad faith malice is the point
That first season felt like the writers were literally just working through their own personal issues.
Totally trolled the audience with our bad writing and plots. Got em.
I think it is telling that in a seven or eight episode television show, that the writing was cobbled together at the last minute, and written reactively, that the showrunner was able to actually put in topical “gotchas.”
These morons had absolutely no idea of what they were doing or what they wanted to do with this character or IP
The part where Jen becomes Karen-hulk and leaves the MCU to complain to the manager was stunning and brave.

I grew up reading She-Hulk comics (I was born in 1977)... She struggled with her anger and her ability to change just like Bruce did. Over time, she accepted what she now was and became Jen and She-Hulk at the same time, years before Bruce did in the comics...
Wade made fun of himself of Ryan's past flops, no mouth Deadpool and even of the budget. He never made fun of the fans.
And that slashed budget actually made the movie better because it lead to the running gag of Deadpool forgetting his guns.

I wouldn't be surprised if the main troll accounts weren't actually ran by Disney/Marvel themselves
not being able to create art
they will not understand art
they will consider their failure as creators
only as a failure of the world
not being able to love fully
they will believe your love incomplete
and then they will hate you
and their hatred will be perfect
The genius of the crowd
Charles Bukowski
It started years ago under the name "Take the toys away from the boys".
Sci-fi, fantasy and superheroes were genres that by far were mostly popular by boys and men.
These days with feminism and such that's of course a big no-no.
Although my father and grandfather never cared about childhood characters in adulthood, which is interesting

I’m grateful for your content, thank you for all your the Effort.
Wade just doesn't like when you're a bigger dick than he is
Is he insane, or is he supersane?
@@SirBlackReeds Both.
What's even dumber, predicting fans would hate the show and then making fans hate the show is just as stupid as me saying "I bet that bear will bite me" and then I go poke the bear with a stick until it bites me, then I can say "See, I was right!"
It's not a prediction if you then deliberately do everything you can to make it come true.
Ignoring it's existence and forgetting the staff name alone is a luxury
We shouldn't watch this shit, but we should let the UA-cam content creators watch it and rip into it for our entertainment. That way the money and viewers are siphoned away so, eventually, Hollywood will get the idea, or die.
It's marvel, the #1 Hollywood franchise currently in the world. This is feminists forcing their way in when comics and superhero are a male genre. They don't care about marvel or shehulk.
@@rclaws3230 that's how I followed this... Not giving disney a dime
But the 'way too much attention'....ultimately led to a 35%, so the attention didn't benefit them as most people didn't watch it.
It's going back to the old Hollywood adage: "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
I think the ONLY goal of these terrible MCU films /TV series is to cause division. It's not about making money or providing entertainment. Disney want us fighting amongst ourselves.
Very good point. This is was the establishment does. They stir up trouble and cause conflict remember their favouite stratergy "Divide and "Conquer".
Yeah it's gettin' there.
Im willing to bet that most of these female writers and actresses have never actually been treated bad by a man in their life
That or any bad treatment they've experienced is a result of their own toxic personality and behavior but are too stubborn, prideful, self entitled, and arrogant to accept this. I've known too many women, including within my own family, that fit this mold.
Strong women don’t put men down to feel better about themselves.
Or maybe that is very definition of "strong" women.
What got me at the end when I was hearing reviews about it is how she wanted some of the other characters to take were sother characters to take responsibility for their poor choices yes she didn't want to do the same
Of course not. She's a wah-man and doesn't need to take responsibility.
Kevin Fiege being a robot has to be the best plot twist of the series
"There's a Semetic influence behind all this, I'm sure of it." General Patton.
That's probably hate speech.
@@doctorcrankyflaps1724 Any speech the semites hate is considered hate speech. For real Americans, there is no such thing as hate speech, just speech.
Painfully accurate
You know what's worse than hate?
Indifference. As a studio, Indifference will destroy you.
People have been asking where the comedy is in this show. I think Dave found at least one of the jokes.
"They said my drinks taste like cough syrup, so I added cough syrup to all my drinks. Take that customers!"
I just gave up on Disney and most movies there very few shows that are decent. Some only appear good because there competing with pure crap like she-hulk.
This proves how much a mess MCU currently is in. These fireable actions by She-Hulk (nix the character), the writer and director. They rip Bruce’s Hulk journey. So, She-Hulk suddenly is better than Hulk?!?! Bullshit. Remove She-Hulk, Cassie Lang and Kamala. They don’t work on the screen.
I think "trolling the trolls" (and other similar declarations) is cover for why this, and other shows, is doing so poorly. They're either victims of bigotry that fits or so crafty and clever that they actually trolled the trolls without us even knowing.
"Pride always becomes before a fall". Off topic, this hits home for everyone who trades financial markets.
