Thanks for this guide CJ, I made this today and the results are great. Even the toughest food critics in the world (my wife and children) are impressed!
Just made this as my first thing on my new ninja woodfire. Was amazing. Had room for 4 drumsticks I took out after a hour and was also perfect and tasted amazing. Can’t wait to try lots of different things but this was a winner 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I recently picked up a Woodfire XL and im loving your videos. Ive been slowly working my way through the whole back catalogue and these are definitely one of the next things to try 🤘🏼
Oh man, those things had my mouth watering. I have some pork belly in the freezer waiting to be cut into bite-sized pieces, and this just got me to pull it out even sooner.
Meat candy. I think that's the best kind of candy. I know it isn't October 31, but if there was an adult Halloween party, and that was handed out to the guests, that would be epic. Those pork belly burnt ends look amazing. Cheers, CJ! 👍👍✌️
Everything I've cooked following CJ has turned out great. I'm in the UK and lucky for us he's here on Smoke and sear. A UK Ninja wood fired grill face book group. Thank you CJ and Smoke and sear
As a trucker I cook everything on the road. I don’t eat truck stop food. Been wood smoking EVERYTHING….then at Walmart seen this damn smoker and I’m very impressed with the size and weight and weight meaning it carries it’s weight cooking SUPER IMPRESSIVE. Now going from wood smoke to now pellet I’ll be the first to say I know SHIT about pellet smokes 😂 and as I’m gonna be doing some candy today I thank you for this kick as video and hope it comes out just as juicy 😂 awesome video bro and thanks 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Like your show. I’m making Pork Belly Burnt Ends today. I’ve only made 3 receipes but each time the protein cooks fasters than listed on your UA-cam or cook book. Today it only took about 30 minutes for the pork belly reach 180 degrees vs keep in there for an hour. They’re back wrapped in foil and brazing. I’ll se how long to reach 200. Any ideas why the faster cooking times? Thnks CJ
Ahhh yeah thanks once again brother!!!!!!!! I just made some using my Louisiana grill since I don’t have a ninja wood fire, then I finished them off in my ninja xl to burn them up…. Daaaaaaaayyyyyyuuummmm so dang bomb thanks CJ! Just so y’all know. I put it in my pellet gril on 250 for about 2 hours with a smoke tube, then threw them in the air fryer at 400 for roughly 35 minutes. Wasn’t really checking the time in the grill nor the air fryer just kept checking with the thermo pro until they were right there!
Tried this pork belly routine just as you did. 300 degrees gave me burnt as in charcoal black burnt to a crisp in 40 minutes. Going to try again but go with low and slow
F. My more current videos show C too. Didn’t realize the videos and Woodfire would be so popular outside of the US. My ecookbook for the Woodfire grill does have both on all the recipes. Thanks for watching.
I’ve been using your videos to test out a lot of things on the woodfire grill. So far they’ve all come out great! But my one critique would be that it can be a little difficult to follow along in the video with the lack of a recipe. Maybe include a step by step recipe in the video info?
Thanks! It’s tough to do on every video since I use the video as the step by step. But I did do an E-cookbook for the Woodfire where you can find the step by step on a bunch of my recipes.
Hi CJ I never bought or cooked pork belly . So far all I see in my store is the salted cured pork belly . Is this the right one or do you use raw fresh pork belly ?
Thanks for this guide CJ, I made this today and the results are great. Even the toughest food critics in the world (my wife and children) are impressed!
Fantastic!
I'm one of the many that requested this and I am beyond grateful! Man this turned out great it's addicting to eat, thanks for all your vids!
Right on! No problem!
Just made a close version of this with your advice and notes.. wonderful!
I used sliced pork belly and it still worked well.
Awesome to hear!
Just made this as my first thing on my new ninja woodfire. Was amazing. Had room for 4 drumsticks I took out after a hour and was also perfect and tasted amazing. Can’t wait to try lots of different things but this was a winner 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you!!
Thank you, done this again 2 days ago. Definitely one of the best and easiest things to do on this I think.
I recently picked up a Woodfire XL and im loving your videos. Ive been slowly working my way through the whole back catalogue and these are definitely one of the next things to try 🤘🏼

Question: for the 2nd hour, where you do the braising, is the temp still at 300 on the smoke setting ?
Yes it was. Sorry I didn’t state that.

Awesome CJ, I like watching your videos to test my willpower to stay on the keto diet. This could be the one that breaks it.
Lol! Thanks bro!
Don’t do it! Stay resolved. 😅❤
Love your work CJ
Thank you!!
Wow! Can’t wait for it to be in stock in the UK!
Hopefully it’ll get there more sooner than later!

OMG....YUM!!!!😛😛😛😛😛
Thank you!!
Trying this recipe out with some kinder’s brown sugar run, beat mountain butcher’s blend pellets, and honey mustard as the binder
Sounds good!
My kind of candy!
Yes ma’am!
Do you use the bake setting (no smoke) to braise them all wrapped up?
Yes that’s what I do
❤❤❤ yum!!!!
Thank you!!
I bought your e cookbook but can’t see or download it. Suggestions?
It would be in an email with a hyperlink to download it. Email me if you can’t find it.
Making a version of this later today. I'm sugar free so not using honey, thinking the sf bbq sauce will be good enough!
CJ, that looks so good
Thank you!!
Giving this ago right now 😋 I’m never going to lose weight now I’ve the ninja woodfire lol 😂
LOL!
CJ aka Candy Man……I can’t wait to make these😋
Thank you!!❤️
Looks great, how easy is it to clean the woodfire grill? Do you use cleaner or soap and water if you need to clean the inside lid?
Use bbq degreaser. I’m going to do a cleaning video eventually.
Making today
❤ From uk
Cheers!
Fell like mine its burning to hot and lot of smoke sut on meat. What do i need to do.
Try dropping the cook temp by 20-25 degrees. Your grill might be running hotter.
Tried this pork belly routine just as you did. 300 degrees gave me burnt as in charcoal black burnt to a crisp in 40 minutes. Going to try again but go with low and slow
Hope you did 300f not 300c 😂😂
When you braise, what did you set on woodfire. Still smoke 300?
Yes I keep at 300
Another banger recipe. Never trust a skinny cook… Translation: CJ is the most honest person in America. CJ for President, 2024!
😂😂 thanks!
Charlie siting at 5:00 ! Good boy ! Crappy lighting ? That’s outdoor cooking Boo!
Yep yep
Yummy
Thanks!
I really enjoy your videos 👍🐷 9:45
Thanks!
Is your temperature on the grill in F or C?
F. My more current videos show C too. Didn’t realize the videos and Woodfire would be so popular outside of the US. My ecookbook for the Woodfire grill does have both on all the recipes. Thanks for watching.
Wouaw 😮🎉❤
Hey CJ! I'm in the UK, are you temps in c or f? When you braised did you put it back on smoker function? Ty for the fab content
Temps are in F. I’ve recently started adding C temps to the videos too. And my Woodfire e cookbook has both temps.
How many pounds came in the package from Costco? It looked like you only used 2 strips, and the results are mouthwatering!!
Gotcha on facebook

Great shows Thank you but get out of Cali bro move to TX
Thanks!!
Look at you doing slow pour over!
Lol!
I would consider that acidity and aluminium foil doesn't go well together.
Just taste the sauce, too much sauce
