    I have a 2009 gti I’m currently doing the chains on now. As a tool I’ve watched this video and part 2 numerous times. I just wanted to take this time to thank you for making these videos they’ve been extremely helpful. Also, the video for removing carbon buildup on the intake valves is great. Thanks again, it’s very much appreciated

    Awesome! Very nice video. You explaining the process and pointing out what to look out for is extremely helpful.
    This video is right on time as my wife's 2014 Jetta GLI just had a tensioner failure and jumped time (96k miles....smh). It appears that the basic setup for her engine is the same as this, just a transversal mount instead. Of course it bent valves and I'll be either replacing the head or having it repaired, depending on damage. I'm searching for videos about swapping the head now...
    Again, thank you!

    Hi so I have a 09 a4 2.0T Tfsi 106k Miles. I have a rear main leak but they also say my timing chain cover is seeping? Not sure what they mean the top or bottom or what. They want to charge 216$ for just the cover to be fixed (part) the oil pan they say is leaking also. Just want to know what you think I should fix mainly just the rear main and do the other fixes myself ? Any feedback would be great !! Thanks!

    • @EDGEMOTORS
      @EDGEMOTORS  5 років тому +1

      Rear main is most important, the chain cover if you attempt to replace your self, you risking throwing your timing off, unless you buy a special tool to hold down the chain sprocket...

    • @nym4benny228
      @nym4benny228 5 років тому

      EDGEMOTORS thanks for the quick reply ... so it says front timing cover on the estimate. Nothing ever leaked until it was throwing misfire codes and system lean codes. So I changed the diaphragm on pvc and it removed the misfires but I think when I pulled the oil cap while it was running it made the suction and it started leaking out the rear main. I think I’m gonna just have them do the rear main and go from there. Does the oil pan come off for the rear main I can’t remember

    • @EDGEMOTORS

    • @nym4benny228

      EDGEMOTORS thanks for the input today any other recommendations. They say the vacuum pump is leaking oil 2. I never noticed any of this prior to bringing it in. It had a smoke test done but it only leaked about a quarter quart ever gas fill up. With all the oil coming from directly underneath. I did notice the inside all around the engine and everywhere it was starting to get real dusty over everything. Not sure what would cause that. Could the pcv still be the problem even tho I changed the diaphragm? It has a good build up around the outside of the hose for the pcv not the breather but the other side.

      Because it would make the job way longer and eay more expensive.
      Have you disconnect ac lines and radiator hoses and then replace all those fluids and gas not to mention make a mess and have the refrigerant evacuated properly. This is not a hard job I'm sure If he was replacing the engine that would be a better option not a small job like a timing chain replacement it makes no sense to take the front clip off

      From audi-technology-portal.de
      Third paragraph
      “FSI/TFSI principle
      At Audi, FSI stands for gasoline direct injection, a technology in which fuel is injected directly into the combustion chambers, rather than into the intake manifold in the traditional manner. More favorable in terms of thermodynamics, this method improves the efficiency of the engine. FSI engines achieve higher performance and better dynamics than conventional engines, with better efficiency. Whether they have four, five, six, eight, ten or twelve cylinders, all gasoline engines from Audi today employ the FSI principle.
      Another common trait of all Audi engines is the homogeneous fuel-air mixture. In a so-called stoichiometric ratio, one kilogram (2.207 lb) of gasoline mixes with 14.7 kilograms (32.41 lb) of air - equivalent to a volume of approximately 12,400 liters (437.90 cubic ft), since air is extremely light.
      A turbocharger or supercharger makes a TFSI out of an FSI. In 2004 Audi was the first manufacturer worldwide to combine forced induction with gasoline direct injection. The two technologies harmonize perfectly: the directly injected fuel swirls intensely in the combustion chamber, which in turn cools the walls of the combustion chamber. This solves an old problem with turbo technology - the tendency toward early spontaneous ignition of the mixture at hot spots in the combustion chamber due to strong heat build-up at high compression, a phenomenon known as knocking. With its TFSI engines, Audi can achieve high compression ratios, to the benefit of combustion quality and thermodynamic efficiency - and consequently fuel efficiency.
      Like TDI engines, FSI and TFSI engines from Audi obtain fuel through a common rail injection system. In the gasoline engines, however, significantly lower injection pressures of about 150 bar (2,176 psi) are sufficient, owing to the lower compression ratios of these engines versus self-igniting diesel engines. The primary advantages are the same as in the TDI: the compact design of the system and the freedom it allows for controlling the injection event.”

    Audi не ищет лёгких путей 😁😁😁😁 ,теперь понятно ,почему Китайские машины так быстро развиваются ))
    Такой гроб ,может купить в наше время ....только безмозглый человек ))
