Love this lady . You want to cook right
Watch her shows . I have watched her for over 15 years , never get wrong advised .
Thank you Lidia .
So refreshing to have a TV host not overacting, rolling their eyes and repeating "Oh My God!So yummy!"
Thank you for your genuineness ❤
I was thinking the exact same thing
Lol
I pictured Giada
It doesn't have to mean they're overacting. A person can genuinely feel that intensely about tasting food. I know I do, especially since I intermittent fast so the first bite is always ridiculous.

This lady is my long lost Italian Grandma. So home made and so warm
😅
I made this when it first aired wayyy before 2 years ago. My baby was in diapers.. She's 8 now. We were dirt poor and I made this because this is what I had at home and it was really really good
Ripe raw vegetables and fruits and seeds watered overnight are thousand times better.
I did it when I was poor too. Fun fact, collegues asked what are you cooking it smells nice.
If ur still poor u have a place to stay in my bedroom. My mother wouldnt mind honestly dm me.
Bless your heart. Hopefully everything is going well now?
@@sunnyromano5101 I think Peter was trolling lol
My first husband (RIP), who was Italian, used to do this for me. Great memories!
what else would you have it with, im thinking of a nice side salad.with maybe goats or fetta cheese.
Lety Jay a nice big piece of crusty bread for sure.
May he rest in peace...
@@katoucha007 Thank you.
Help. Is there a substitute for cheese?
Lidia is one of the best cooks I have ever followed! No fancy stuff for her. Just great flavor!
Hi
I love listening to her.
She's so calming.
Love when says"ok"
Since we’re in isolation and have all these ingredients, this will be our Friday night dinner!
Great quarantine dish especially with meat lacking on supermarket shelves
I was just thinking that!
Haha same here!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 our too 🤣🤣🤣
Could u tell me what herb she add into the oil? kappa chino? what is that?
lock-down is not so bad after all. I'm learning so much on YT.
I'm always on lock down but yea its awesome n I love cookn
Yup
Me too.. You can see my supper tonight.
Ikrrr
Same I've learned so many things.
Been making this for my daughter since she was a little girl because she refused to eat the spaghetti sauce. I use olive oil, some butter and garlic powder... sometimes I use fresh garlic too... and once its done.. toss the noodles in the sauce, top with parmesan cheese.
Exactly, doesn't have to be complicated to be delicious.
The most perfect blend of sauce! So delicious and healthy bec of garlic overload👍😋😋😋 Pasta Aglio Olio forever 🇨🇮 ❤️
Sounds good, i don't have to go to the store to make this dish, except for the parsley should include it in my garden this spring
So we can let the garlic powder simmer in the oil instead of fresh garlic?
@@ningalacto453 Thats what I do. Stir it around so it doesn't burn... I add a little more butter if needed... you can add cherry tomatoes to the sauce a fresh taste.
You literally saved my life
I am living for a month or three under the poverty line and i cant even buy food anymore
I am eating the rice and spagetti but the taste is hideos so i rather starve then eat haha
So i went on UA-cam and literally searched
Only spagetti with oil
Then i saw your video
An i literally followed you step for step
And now i am eating a delicious meal
How can i thank you

Lidia, I just wanted to thank you for your determination to years of hard work and deeply rooted family values that freely gives us not only authentic Italian recipes and traditional ways on how to cook them but also the history and why it must be preserved for generations to come. God bless!
The best Italian chef on television. I have been watching her shows on public television for years.
Sorry to disappoint you but, as an Italian myself, 100% Italian, I tell you that this isn’t at all the real pasta aglio e olio. For the real recipe, see my previous comment.
Same, watched her growing up on PBS. It's like everyone Italian mom or grandma.
I'm sorry for you!🤦♀️🤢
Love her style! Wish she was back on the Food Channel. Genuine!

Hi
I love watching Lidia cook! I’ve learnt a lot from her.
Well, this is my very first time here, I was watching her video and l loved it because she explains everything in an easy way. Thanks for the secret to cooking pasta. Please continue making magic in the kitchen ❤️
I don’t see Italian pasta police, so i trust this recipe.
😂😂😂 Hahaha.. True that.
Hello, we are the Italian Pasta Police. 👮🏻♂️ The consumption of this dish is prohibited unless you apply the appropriate corrections. 1) Excessive use of garlic. That amount is good for ten dishes. 2) Mixing water and oil is pointless, with that amount of oil. You can use a little pasta water when you mix pasta and sauce at the end. 3) Basil and parsley together makes no sense. Basil is mostly used in tomato based sauces. 4) Parmesan or any other grated cheese doesn't mix well with garlic and peppers, but it's a matter of personal (bad) taste. 👮🏻♂️ Buon appetito!
Pom Peo dude ur literally my sister 😟
@@pompeomagno5916 Thank you so much Pasta Police!
Don't you just hate the Recipe Police?! Shut up and eat it! 🤣🤣🤣
I started making this years ago without even knowing what it was actually called. I love garlic, the more the merrier, plus the pasta. It's something I could eat every day and not get sick of it. I'm not Italian, but with simple food like this, I wish I was!

Me too i sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top being doin this for years.quick and easy.plus thats all i had in the cupboard
OMG, I just cooked this, played the video while cooking it. Delicious is not the word. It is AWESOME.. The wife and son love it also. Thanks for the video.
I recall watching this fabulous lady as a teen I loved watching her and listening to her she really is a delight to watch and learn from.
Pasta is amazing because it comes in so many forms and can be dressed up or down with or without tomatoes . My Italian grandmother could make pasta a dozen different ways depending what was in thee kitchen or her garden. Make this dish your own!
I'm not a tomato fan and love seeing pasta recipes that don't contain them. For some reason people in the United States think that only way to eat past is with some kind of tomato sauce.
Ji
Been a fan for YEARS! God Bless you & your family! Love your Mom, too! 💝🍝
YAH ITS RIGHT ALDANTE FOR SURE .THIS IS THE REAL WAY OF COOKING AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PASTA.

Such a great dish, can't wait to make this. I agree, she could make boiled water taste wonderful.
Just made this for my husband and he LOVED it. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
This is classic good stuff. LOVE her no nonsense Italian style. Respect.
Cooking with one of the best Italian chefs I know of. She is absolutely fabulous.✔💯
So simple but absolutely wonderful. My go to comfort food dish 😊
She is such a class act. I lived in Italy and she is soo Italian. Love her!
It’s 2019, I Can’t believe I’m 60+ years old and having to watch a video on how to make pasta!
Join the club my friend. You learn until the day you die. Never too late to learn new recipes. This one is simple and TASTY. Thank You Lidia. Perfect meal during fasting period with vegan (soy based cheese).
I enjoy watching simple recipes. My grandmother cooked for a living and she started teaching my siblings and I how to cook when we were in elementary school in the 1960s. I also learned things from the cooks I knew in the Army and from Korean eateries on both tours. My wife likes it when I boot her out of the kitchen and there are some things she won't eat unless I cook it. Sometimes she'll even ask me to cook something particular.
😂its never 2 late!
Better late than never, good Sir.

i used to cook this pasta a lot during my days as a starving student. the absolute eating on the cheap, but freshly cooked! i would throw some tomatoes in at the end as well sometimes.

I met my Italian in-laws in the 1965. I fell in love with the culture and the food. Sadly, they are long gone so I will adopt you as my UA-cam Italian mamma 😊😊😊
Pure genius! Little tips and tricks I never knew that make all the difference. Molto grazie, Lidia. Bravo!
Wonderful! I like to cook this and add mushrooms, chicken breast slices, Italian cherry tomatoes and even some green beans...I cook the chicken in olive oil separately and then stir it in when the rest is done. :)
You could add some nice Nueske bacon as well!
My neighbor brought us some fresh garlic last week and i am definitely going to make this dish for dinner! It looks so scrumptious!
I love her in this kitchen. Her recipes seem so much better.

hello grew up in Italian family eating spaghetti's almost everyday so many ways you can make it I love your recipe make it a lot thanks
My uncle married a 100% Italian woman. She would crack me up at dinners cooking her pasta. She would also say never, never, never oil in the pasta water. This is dinner, not a car engine.
I have been making this recipe for 42 years after learning from Joe Bianco, a former writer for the Oregonian. Joe taught me the option of using anchovies. I have perfected this recipe such that I dissolve the anchovies (an entire can with the oil) in the olive oil when I’m cooking the garlic. Then the pasta water and then the pasta and then the pecorino and then the parsley. When I present this dish I always announce it as, “Spaghetti con aglio e olio di oliva con le acciughe.”
Jacob Accurso This actually makes anchovies sound appetizing and worth a try! Thanks.
Anchovies are a secret ingredient in a few Italian sauces. Not fishy at all.
Sounds awesome!!
I don't know why, but anchovies seem to just melt when added to sauces. The flavor is just a treat!
Bless you Lydia for improving the quality of our lives. To the ladies, the fastest way to his heart is his stomach.
I love you Lidia. This is the clear and easy advice I've been looking for to make great pasta. Turns out I was doing so many things wrong. Thanks for the education :) I've subscribed now! 💚

We should have been listening to the Italian years ago on how to make pasta, because I have been doing it so wrong all of my adult life! Can't wait to try this sauce though, thank you so much!
I wonder how it would be adding fresh oregano and cilantro, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and smoked bell peppers. OMG That sounds so good!
I add cilantro and mushrooms quite frequently, but it becomes another recipe of course.
Lidia has a restaurant in Pittsburgh where I lived for many years but I never got to go. Here I can still try her dishes without the high cost! Thanks!
