  • A re-release of 2-part series, now told from the seat of my Range Rover as I cross Australia. The epic story of when fate brought us together. A wrecked Range Rover, a rogue elephant and a smattering of guilt. Welcome to "4xoverland" channel. The world's first and leading global 4WD adventure motoring channels.
Gwynn White Fantasy book author: www.gwynnwhite.com/
The title of this video is "GUTS AND COURAGE. THE CLEAN KNICKERS STORY. part-12 Crossing AUS in a 45-YO Range Rover | 4xOverland"

    / andrew_stpierre_white .
Gwynn thinks that all you need are clean knickers and you can accomplish anything. Here is proof that you don't even need those. All you need is guts and courage.
I've told this story before, but in a different setting. And now I believe its setting is perfect, so I had to tell it again, and for those who missed it the first time, here it is.
Now told from the seat of my Range Rover as I cross Australia. The epic story of when fate brought us together. A wrecked Range Rover, a rogue elephant and a smattering of guilt.
New range rover vs old range rover.
Range Rover is a type of Land Rover model. The Range Rover lineup consists of four models: the Range Rover, the Range Rover Evoque, the Range Rover Sport, and the Range Rover Velar.
What have I done? Have I gone mad? What does Paul think? This does not replace any vehicle and will not become the channel's primary overland touring rig. It's a stand-alone project but we have many long-term plans for its development and use.

I am going to suggest this Land Rover series is the best one you have done Andrew. I really enjoy the way you have brought your historic relationship with an old Rover and intertwined it with a modern story of an old Rover. Brilliant. Thanks for bringing this series to life.

Brilliant story from both of you, my Helen loved the clean knickers comment, her and a friend did almost the same hitch hiking around Vietnam and Cambodia about 20 years ago...if it didn't fit in their 35L backpacks, they didn't take it. Your story also shows that no matter how cynical we can be about our fellow humans at times, most people are pretty decent and will help if they can. Thank you both for sharing your story.

I do so love these older recordings. As a young lad, 4x4 wasn't even on my radar (other than the Range Rover ads on TV), so having this snapshot into overlanding across 1980s South Africa is fascinating. We are so lucky Andrew has been making these films for so many years, long before it became widespread.

“Wow”... What an amazing experience, they both were very fortunate in more ways than one, to have achieved their objective despite the dangers and also the setbacks. Also to you too Andrew and your mate, in fixing up the “Rangie” and heading off on a “wing and a prayer” so to speak. Excellent bush mechanical repairs. Its amazing what can be achieved with some bits of wire, rope, etc, etc and of course, will and determination from all four of you. Remarkable indeed!!

These expeditions always take a fair bit of bottle, but back in the day when we didnt have the internet, satellite phones and high tech GPS, tracking devices etc, this took real testicular fortitude.
Incredible to think too, just how capable off road vehicles have been down the decades. yes, the double edged sword of modern electronics make driving them much easier, but ultimately, nothing beats old tech engineering.

My own recollections of rebuilding broken 4x4’s in desolate places has been revived with fondness.
