Hey 👋🏽if you wanted the free download of my tips to get passed bra strap length, here's the link: payhip.com/b/TYUlk. Otherwise, let me know if you utilise flaxseed gel in your hair routine?
You are featuring my second cousin, Indigenous Strandz. I don’t even follow her process. I need too. It takes Tori sooo long to do her hair!! Thank you for giving her a shout out! good luck on growing
I use flaxseed gel in many ways all over my hair, scalp, and ends. I use flaxseed gel to detangle my hair. I only detangle my hair when it is damp. I use the leftover flaxseed from making the gel, in a blender with fenugreek, aloe vera juice, and oils to make a hair mask. And I also add flaxseed gel to my homemade DIY organic Ayurvedic leave-in conditioner.
@@Sandra-cz2lh I use all organic ingredients. I put 1/2 tablespoon each of rosemary, basil, bay leaf, cloves, and fenugreek powder in a glass jar with 1/2 cup hot water. I let that infuse in a dark cabinet for at least 24 hours. However, I have infused it for as long as 5 days. Then strain it with strainer, and 2nd strain with stocking cap. Add 1/2 cup of aloe vera juice and a tablespoon of alma oil and a few drops of essential oils. Must store in the refrigerator.
I follow her also but I used ufd curly magic on my 4c two strand twist every night. I had less dry ends. And I'm no longer clipping my ends after every wash. It works. Good luck.
Without her routine we would have been still going around the wilderness and never see noticable length and thickness. Thanks for giving her the 🌹 she deserves. Keep our OG's relevant❤
The OGs!!!! Yesssss lol. Thank you for watching and being here. I can see from your profile pic, you have some long thick hair going for you too!! I see you.
This is on time because I mainly wanted to use flax for the nutritional properties and its capabilities of helping detangle the hair. I’ll go ahead and sealing my end when I style 😉
@@wearecreatorz5688 oh brilliant. So kind of like a pre-poo? I've never used it in that way but I have seen others do it. Feel free to come back and let me know how you get on with using it on your ends.
I’ve been following IS for years and love the simplicity of her regimen. While my hair is too fine to use castor oil directly on it, I do use it on my scalp. Following her also helped me simplify my regimen so I can be consistent and my hair is thriving 🙂
You also need to bear in mind that everyone's hair has a different grow-shed cycle length. Each of your strands will go through anagen (the growing phase), catagen (the transition phase), telogen (the resting phase) and exogen (the shedding phase). So even if your hair is not breaking, the length of this cycle will limit the maximum length of your hair. E.g. if the maximum cycle of your strands is 4 years, and you grow half inch per month, the hair on your head will never be more than 0.5 * 12 * 4 inches, i.e. 24 inches long. I believe Indigenous Strands has an unusually long grow-shed cycle. I have grown my hair to waist-length with ultra-low manipulation and protective styling in the past. Based on the length of my own grow-shed cycle, I don't think I could get my hair past that length.
I'm no longer natural but used to follow IS's methods and I loved it. Her routine is the best modern adaptation of the diaspora's historical (and modern, if we consider the Chad women, for example) hair rituals for length retention - keeping the hair in fixed style and minimising how often the hair is out and loose. It's like locs without the permanence. It's the best of all the worlds we are trying to achieve - minimal products, accessible and easy protective styling that even an amateur can do, a style that is simple, feminine and *actually* showcases the length we are working on retaining. Good luck with your journey!
Great Video!!! i used homemade flax seed gel early in my natural journey many years ago and my hair grew really long past BSL(blown out). I am now stuck at waist length (blown out). I am going to join the challenge to see if I can increase my length.
I’ve made flaxseed gel before. Works beautifully, but it’s shelf life is incredibly short. Im never able to finish it because it’s gone bad by the end of the week 😭😭😭 I stick to using thick butters on my ends instead 😅
I hear you, it is short. The suggestions below are good. I've started pouring some of the mixture into an ice cube tray, freezing them, and just popping a few cubes out every week. But thick butters are great too. I use Sunny Isles Rosemary Mint butter sometimes, woooo chile, my ends love that.
I started my new healthy haircare journey in April 2023. At the start of my journey I cut my hair to shoulder length. Now my hair is just past my waist. I am hoping by April 2025, my 2 year Hair anniversary, that my hair will touch the top of my butt.

I don’t know what to put on my 2 year old hair. Her hair is dry and breaks easily, it’s stringy and fragile, she has 4c hair. Shampoos dries her hair out, the hard water breaks her hair, and leav in moisturisers I’ve tried shea moisture does nothing for her hair
My hair was like this after I bleached it…what I did was use bhringraj powder and mix it with olive oil and put it in my hair at night as well as hot oil treatments with that oil or Jamaican black castor oil and my hair stopped falling out and is way thicker now.. hope this helps 🙏
Hey 👋🏽aww man that sounds frustrating for both you and your daughter. I personally always try to squeeze out as much of the tap water as possible and I spray liquid aloe vera juice instead (I do not know if this can be used on toddlers, it's just what I do). One of my friends who is a hair and beauty influencer used Kokoso Baby and Camille Rose on her toddler. Again, not my recommendation as I have no experience with doing baby's hair, but just some thoughts. Hopefully, the recommendation you received below about Bhringraj, Olive oil and Black Castor Oil can help.

Yay, thanks for watching
Also she’s been growing her hair for ten years. So start now y’all 😂😂
@@AntiJeffreyMcCrayCommunity true true.
In this day and age, though, you got supplements that boost hair growth by 3-10 times faster & you can do it all in less than 2 years.. edit: all you gotta do is retain the growth
❤❤❤❤
@@yazzi5087 aww thank you.
@ thank you for sharing I will look into Bhringraj powder
Hey 👋🏽aww man that sounds frustrating for both you and your daughter. I personally always try to squeeze out as much of the tap water as possible and I spray liquid aloe vera juice instead (I do not know if this can be used on toddlers, it's just what I do). One of my friends who is a hair and beauty influencer used Kokoso Baby and Camille Rose on her toddler. Again, not my recommendation as I have no experience with doing baby's hair, but just some thoughts. Hopefully, the recommendation you received below about Bhringraj, Olive oil and Black Castor Oil can help.
@@fungsho12 it’s very inexpensive on Amazon
@@Natural2020_ is the aloe Vera juice from the plant or is it the one from the store ? Also do you know if the fresh aloe Vera can be used as a leave in ?

Hola buen día necesito la Traducción 😊en Español. 😂❤🎉
Hey, I'm so sorry, I don't know how to do that 🥺🤦🏾♀️ I'll have a look on UA-cam next time to see if it can be done easily.

I'll join you - i'm stuck 2ins from bra strap for 2 years! I've made flaxseed in the past i remember it being a slippery mess - but i'll try it one more, after I've watched your video. ! I've got to say though the lady your following has a different hair type about 2 - looks Asian mixed, just saying!
@@winiver77 two years? Ok definitely have a try of moisturising, then sealing your ends and then tucking them away. If that works for you, you could be at mid-back length within the next 2-4 months.
I believe she's shared that she's full black, but have you seen her hair shrink? It's right back up to her shoulders so it really does show how kinky and coily her hair is.
Indigenous Strandz doesn't look Asian at all lol. She's fully black anyway

Lol
Just get locs. You will have fuller, thicker, and stronger hair.
Hey 👋🏾 I appreciate your point but I personally don't want locs. A new generation of us are learning that we don't have to have locs to have long, full and strong hair.
I was so Surprised to hear your name that's my name too hi
@@clestinesanders4061 ohhhh heyyyy, and there's me feeling like I was the only female in the world with this name 🤣🤣🤣 mine is spelt with an "e" after the C.

@Natural2020_ You're welcome. I appreciate you as well. Your tips actually work. I use flaxseed on my ends as well and the single strand knots decreased tremendously. Thanks sis 💕
@Happy2be4c love that!!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I've subscribed to Indigenous Strandz since she started her channel. It's good to see someone else really watching her journey as well. 🪴
Yes, I wish she was still doing UA-cam videos, now I just follow her on Instagram.
