    To those who have a concern about the dryness with the flaxseed try using Shea butter, castor oil, glycerin with it for the moisture, you can prepoo with it also with the oils if you don't want to leave it in your hair, or when fixing your flaxseed with your water incorporate some aloe Vera juice with it

    This is so crazy that you posted this because I just started my flaxseed challenge yesterday as well and I told myself lest pay attention to the ends of the hair and mid-shafts. So when I grease up my hair I use blue magic Indian hemp every 3-4 days and I’m applying my flaxseed gel as well. Did my flaxseed gel just like indigenous strandz; let is sit for 2hrs so it can get that beautiful auburn color. But I’ve noticed within like 20-30 min it was getting that auburn color but I let it sit for 2hrs and strained it… that was a workout but when it came to washing the hair!!! Very little shedding which was amazing I was shook

      I loveeeeee this comment so much! We have so many similarities in our routine. I started using Blue Magic grease about 5/6 months ago when I ran out of Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I've not tried letting it sit for few hours, do you think that helps it to have a stronger hold? Haha🤣 I can imagine the workout straining it.

      @@Natural2020_ to be honest just letting it sit for 10-20 minutes so it can get that nice dark color like indigenous strandz; I feel like it’s the same results it’s just still a little bit warm to touch and you can actually work with it better.
      With the flaxseed sitting for 2hrs it separates as you see and it’s a struggle to strain it but to achieve that nice color I personally just let it sit for 20-30min depending on how much time you have cause this can be an all day event just doing our hair is a marathon 😂.
      But I do appreciate indigenous strandz showing her style we are all here to learn but incorporate it to our own personal needs.

      @Natural2020_ Honestly you are the 1st person I can say that the stuff works for my hair. There are plenty of women with 4c long hair here on UA-cam but what worked for them did not work for me. I have been going back and forth with my hair journey since 2012 from perms to natural then texlax then back to natural. In 1 yr I was able to grow my hair from TWA to almost armpit length. No kidding. The flaxseed gel sealed it for me. Then I learned to understand when my hair is dried how and when to properly moisturize it. Thanks so much sis 💕

    New scriber here, my head is shaved (peach fuzz) just enough to brush, and I was wondering, can I use this on my pf ? If so, I'll use castor oil with it. Any tips from you would be appreciated. Thank you, blessings.

      @@shortcake951 hey 👋🏾 I went from shaved to here, so welcome. I can imagine the flaxseed gel would make your short curls pop so nicely. But I'd be concerned that it may leave white flakes/residue. Although the castor oil may help to break the cast. I'd probably suggest trying it on a small section first. Wait until it dries to see if it's flakey. If not, go for it.

      @@barbarajohnson8046 Hey 👋🏾 from UK to Florida. Personally, I do my full moisture routine before applying the gel, so oil is before for me. But I don't think there's anything wrong with applying it after. It may help to break the white cast/residue and reduce the crunchiness (if that's your aim).

      REALLLLYYYYY!!!!??? OMG, I haven't even got my hands on any of her products just yet, but one day. Hmm, is your routine similar to IS? I know she recently has her hair out a lot more, but her previous routine of twists and washing once a month - do you do something similar to that?

    • @BieEsh
      @BieEsh Місяць тому

      Right now I am trying out the mini twist in my hair but given I need to attend to my scalp I need to find ways to clean my scalp without actually washing my hair, maybe miscellar water?! My hair strands just want to loc together every opportunity it gets. Slowly trying to implement IS practices as it is beneficial.

    • @Natural2020_
      @Natural2020_  Місяць тому

      Ok I see. I've never tried miscellar water on my scalp. Aloe Vera juice with some essential oils can be a decent scalp cleaner. Or you could try some dry shampoo's that are on the market - I've used ORS Herbal Cleanse Dry Shampoo. I also saw scalp wipes are now a thing 🤷🏾‍♀️ oh your first question... It can sometimes leave a white cast/residue on my ends, yes. I think maybe some oil on top might prevent that, but I'm not sure.

    Hair weathering is the gradual deterioration of hair from the root to the tip. It can be caused by both environmental and cosmetic factors, such as:
    Aging: Hair becomes more brittle and loses color as it ages.
    Chemical damage: Bleaching, perms, and other chemical treatments can damage hair.
    Physical damage: Brushing too hard, using heat styling tools, or wearing tight braids can damage hair.
    Environmental factors: UV radiation, wind, humidity, salt water, chlorine, dust, and pollution can damage hair.
    I don't believe this applies to using flaxseed gel!!

    Wait! I’m a curious 15 yr cosmetologist… so you are applying a DIY gel to your hair that has no preservatives that will undoubtedly cause weathering to the hair over time.

    • @Natural2020_
      @Natural2020_  Місяць тому +3

      @@teeshante Hey 👋🏾 what is weathering? I have been using this for a few years now and I personally have only seen it strengthen my ends against breakage. Something Indigenous Strandz has been doing for many years and has helped her to get knee length hair.

      @@Natural2020_This may work amazingly well for your hair (although using a homemade product with a two week shelf life is not ideal)… Understand that you are inviting ppl to join in this practice that can prove to be disastrous for others. It’s one thing to say this is what I do… it’s quite another to have others follow along. Take for example someone who knows their body well and decides they are fasting for 7 days and opens the challenge up to others… you don’t know their habits, their history, how much energy they exert in a day. A 7 day fast for one person can be great while a 7 day fast for someone else could dangerous. I just find it interesting that so much misinformation is still being spread on YT all these years later.

      @@teeshante I'm curious, did you watch the full video? You may notice I suggested people can do the challenge on one small section and they do not have to apply it to their full head of hair if they are not used to using the gel. You may also have noticed when I suggested if flaxseed gel does not work for a person's hair they should stop using it because what works for my hair does not work for everyone elses. You may also have noticed I said I was not a professional in hair but simply that I know my hair. Lastly this whole channel is about how I personally am growing my hair. I simply share what I do and others are invited to try the same or similar things if they want to.
