I sorry that the Melle products are going through trying times. But we as a people need to read the ingredients on all things food/hair and body, I have an allergic to coconut and that was the first thing I saw on the oil, my eyes went straight to it. I don’t buy a lot of of these natural products because I can’t do a lot of them I have allergies and asthma. Henna is another natural product I can’t use because it dyed my hair and took the oxygenation out of my hair. So my suggestion is to know your body. I’m going to a Trichologist that is bringing my hair back to life. 🙏🏽❤️ praying for everyone
@@RestingVirgoFace he harassed the UA-camr who gave the Miellé rice water line a bad review. He found her personal information through the payment system and called her to intimidate her into recanting her review.
The Mielle Rosemary Oil took my edges out years before this scandal started. Yet I never wrote or said anything about it until today. To each it's own.
In my opinion, this is an unnecessary and odd response video from a cooperation. If, a conspiracy to derail her business, then take them to court, not social media 🙄
So ONE influencer brought her brand down??? When mannnyyyyy, including myself, have experienced hair loss bcz of her products? Make it make sense, ma'am. She's doing everything besides taking responsibility.
I am so GLAD you mentioned the creators that were harassed over a review cuz that's something I will never let go and let her live down. It wasn't 'sabotage' when her husband and fans sent threats, but now that her karma's on her, now it must be someone else's fault. I am never buying anything from this lady again.
Yes, that was totally out of order. Her husband had no right to call and harass anyone. It highlights their immature mindset if they think everyone is going to like their product or that their product will play well with everyone’s diverse body chemistry.
I haven’t watched this video yet. All I know is that when I seen video by the influencer (cannot remember her name right now) breaking down the ordeal and how the husband harassed that her, I vowed not to purchase anything from Mielle again, and I know many people feel the same.
No one created hysteria for me. I'm not on tiktok. I haven't had an IG in years. I was using their rosemary line. Then my scalp began to look as if it had been burned. The hair came straight out. It didn't even look like I had follicles. I thought I'd developed an autoimmunity. This was before I traced it back to the products. I went to the doctor, had a complete workup. Normal. I started to do product elimination. I began with the proucts newly added. Surprise, surprise Mielle. I only found other's had similar experiences with Mielle when I came across a random video on UA-cam a couple of months ago. It's been a year since my initial experience and my scalp is still recovering.
I was one who experienced hair loss. I’ve been natural for over 10 years and have used and loved many Mielle products. That’s what made it hard to identify what the issue was. I thought it was hormonal or a vitamin deficiency of some sort. I was trying everything to stop the shedding and thinning around my hairline. I even had a small bald spot at the crown of my hair. It’s been about 4 months since I stopped using the rosemary hair mask (one of my favs) and all the symptoms have stopped and my hairline is thickening up again. This was not a coincidence. I have no reason to lie and am not an influencer. You get one chance to calm fears in these situations. There are just too many stories. Black women don’t play about our hair. Good luck to them getting women to trust that brand again. I’ll stick with small brands and my kitchen from now on. Smh.
Thank you for this. I think transparency and accountability can get you very far and I even think she can bounce back from this situation but the gaslighting has to stop. As you said everyone is not on the payroll!
Yeah I didn’t like her initial response she basically said because we were black we didn’t know how to take care of our hair. Why did the PR team approve this
Right. I took care of my hair just fine for over 20 years since I took over the job from my mother. My hair was healthy and waist-length. I used her conditioner once and it was immediately so locked up and damaged I had to shave it all off.
I personally saw the tide turn with Mielle when the new target consumer (from Alix Earle) started saying their hair was falling out. Our community responded by telling them it wasn't made for them, and they're probably using it wrong. THEN I saw the blk women speak about the problems they had.
Getting a sponsorship deal with a company whose products work for her doesn’t mean a negative review for a product that doesn’t work for her is intentional sabotage.
This is true! Monique’s problem or her claim is that while promoting another company, the creator was bad mouthing Mielle. I really hope this was not written into the creator’s contract or encouraged.
I 100% agree. It sounded very much like a PR crafted statement to put the company in a certain light to control the narrative. Maybe, they've sent a cease and desist.
That's a total lie! I purchased the entire rosemary line during their $8.00 BACK to school sale. My total order was $140.00, and I noticed I was losing some hair, and I returned all of it, and Mielle had the audacity to not want to give me a refund. I contacted the BBB, and Mielle was forced to refund my money!!!
I have only ordered from them once and never again. It was some years ago when everything was $7 and I ordered a few things and it took over 2 months for it to get to me. I had to contact customer service and then BBB to get my refund
it's unfortunate that all of this is going down, especially at the detriment of our hair (as you stated). i can honestly say that i have never been able to handle the rosemary hair care like (pre and post acquisition). it didn't work for me, i felt the dry/brittleness of my hair after using the oil and my scalp was more sensitive than it should have been. that's a me thing, i learned that, so i stopped using it. i also have an issue with the shampoo/conditioner/curl smoothie from the pomegranate line, but my hair THRIVES with the leave-in conditioner and only that. these are the same issues that i had with raw coconut oil when the trend happened. my hair did NOT like that. the sensitivities involving individuals hair are vast, we just gotta be willing to pay attention. what i find disappointing with this particular situation is that, seeing that SO MANY individuals are having an issue, why not say "hey, guys, we are hearing there's some issue with this product with way too many of our clients, we will be pulling it down and analyzing the problem." i think that is a much better way of handling things ESPECIALLY when she continues to say that all she cares about is the health of the hair. if that is her stance, then show it. don't turn it into a playground fight, listen to your consumers and move forward. we are human beings, mistakes happen, fix it. people will respect that more than lawsuits.
The Mielle brand has suffered more so because of the way the brand has responded! All things will not work for all people, but to disparage consumers because of negative reviews is unacceptable. And does she use her own products? I never hear her say “us”… only “you“? Is she part of this community or not??
Hello! In her 1st video responding to allegations where she appeared to be in her house she took a bottle of the rosemary oil and applied a few drops to her hair and stated that she and her family use the products.
I’m so confused about her saying “haters”. Aren’t there other hair care product companies who are just as, if not even more successful? Why would she be so special that people just had to sabotage her company? And I don’t mean that to be funny? The reality is when a complaint came early, had she done some production introspection she could saved her company. I don’t see any accountability on her part. I’m so happy I never jumped on the Moeller bandwagon. I just always felt something was off about the company and products. I’m happy I was discerning about certain things and I’m sure going forward, so many others will be now as well! So sorry to those that suffered due to this company…
There’s also a couple people on TikTok that shared the ingredients list and showed that there in fact has been changes. Idk why she doesn’t be honest and then make the proper changes instead of taking NO accountability.
I used the Mielle products, and I believe my hair was coming out from it. I can't be certain, but I used Mielle products consistently. This is crazy to promote products with so many claims of women's hair coming out.
Thank you for presenting such an unbiased view. I purchased Mielle years ago but did not use the product or purchase again because of the Linda Lynn situation. She posted the phone conversation between her and Monique's husband and I found it to be unprofessional and simply out of line! I don't belive or trust Monique Rodriguez business model because of that situation.
@@KlassicallyKept Linda kept getting calls at odd and inappropriate times from a number that she didn't recognize so she didn't answer. She thought it may have been a telemarketer or someone trying to scam her so she hit record and answered. Unfortunately for Monique Rodriguez it was her husband. Lyn posted all of the calls and the recording. Monique and the husband tried damage control with interviews and half ass apologies but the damage was done.
Going after an influencer is a dangerous game; you can't, one would think, enjoy the relatively free promotion that comes from influencers when they give a favourable review but then alledge foul play when things don't go your company's way. Rodriguez has form with unprofessionalism if not plain gangsterism when it comes to negative reviews. She could be pulling a Drake here.
She's lame and I'm disappointed her attorney told her this was smart. She isn't likeable or trustworthy. She thought she would just win because she is a woman of color regardless of the quality.
I have been following this case, and I think both things can be true at the same time. I believe that her product was slandered and libeled via influencers who has no moral compass and will accept money to spout off about anything, and I also believe that putting essential oils directly on your scalp is incredibly risky and bad for both hair and follicles. Essential oil is literally the most powerful parts of plants and herbs. It needs a carrier oil if it's going to be used on the scalp, but oils and butters do not allow sebum, the natural oil your body produces, to exit the follicle because the follicle is blocked. This follicle blocking causes hair loss. Once the follicle is blocked, continued use of essential oil on the scalp kills the follicle, often permanently. The only thing that I believe Monique Rodriguez messed up on is not acknowledging the role of the essential oils in her products.
Good morning, Thank you for this! Using essential oils is definitely a balancing act. From what I understand the reason many people loved Mielle was because of their constant use of essential oils in their collections. Since this situation many specialized doctors have said that leaving essential oils on your scalp can be counterproductive. I think there is room to fix this and to bounce back. I people are looking for transparency and to not be ignored.
@@KlassicallyKept I agree. Anyone following this case knows that there are thousands, if not potentially millions, of women in the comment sections talking about the same experience over and over again. That is not a coincidence. It is very unusual for women to post vulnerable hair experiences on the Internet, because most people prefer to post their best self, or what they see as their best self. I do not believe these women are lying. I hope she doesn't start gaslighting people. But I also feel bad for her because the level of scrutiny she is under has to be very uncomfortable and frustrating during the holiday season, when we are supposed to be thankful for each other. I'm glad you covered this, thank you.🤍🤍
I agree about influencers having no moral compass ! Each week it’s a new product favorite that worked for them. They are to blame as well! This should tell folks not to bend their ear to others.
I feel for Monique but I am not willing to sacrifice my hair to support a product which is heavily on topic for damaging hair. In my past experience, the Rosemary oil did nothing for me, the Ginger line dried my hair like the Sahara desert and the peony spray made my head itch and burn for days. All of this before the scandal. Money in the bin.
Thank you for sharing this. So you have tried a few lines and they did nothing for you. I have only tried the Rosemary line and it dried my hair out as well.
The thing I find about mostly all of the products that are started by LLC self starting companies ( meaning started at home) is that they are largely protein based and it is from the perspective of what worked for that particular individual’s hair. My hair tangles up with protein based products. I found that out the hard way. I applaud these entrepreneurs for starting these businesses and I would encourage them to keep growing. That being said… we have to take the feedback and grow from it and not double down on an “ our product works” position. If you want growth, you have to understand the science of our hair and that we all need different needs for our specific hair types and conditions.
Good afternoon! Thank you for this and you made a very good point. I too am interested in how this will all play out. I think as a business owner you walk a fine line. You need to listen to your customer base but also make sure you are staying true to your company. I have noticed this as well. Company are now including protein in a lot of their newer products.
I remember them even acquiring Ms. Linda's address and personal information, which is insane. Ms. Monique was also in the comments of her video and was very unprofessional to me.
I was one of the ones who experienced hair loss too. At first I thought it was prolonged postpartum shedding. I thought something was going on with me hormonally. My hair was coming out in clumps yet I was already 2 years postpartum. I even cut my hair and my hair would not stop falling out. When I saw the videos of women on TikTok sharing pictures of their hair I screamed because it was the same thing that was happening to me. I immediately stopped using Mielle’s products and switched to another brand and my hair is now thriving. I’ve never publicly talked about this so I was confused when she said the original creator was being paid by a competitor. Well what about women like me who didn’t say anything publicly but experienced the same problem?
People are complaining now, but I tried it when it first launched, and it was horrendous then! My scalp was on fire. Their problems existed long before P&G.
I bought the oil it dried my hair.. I will not purchase after she and her hubby attacked that creator who spent her money and reviewed the product and got attack.. like what??
I had never heard the allegations; I bought the oil last year with other products, then realized it didn't have any type of seal. I don't like that, so I returned it unused. She should re-think her packaging and put a tight, strong seal under the cap so that you can't even get a whiff of it without breaking the seal, and the seal can't accidently come off (like TB's line).
I have concerns about how that oil is formulated. Essential oils are typically 1-5% of a formulation, which means they should be towards the bottom of the ingredients. This percentage range is often to prevent the likelihood of irritation. Even it were 10-15% it would be towards the bottom of the ingredient list and heavily diluted. Ingredients should be listed from largest to smallest on product labels. Essential oils like tea tree, peppermint, rosemary, etc. can be extremely irritating and drying if they are not diluted properly. I haven't looked at the other products in the line. Given Monique's history with bullying influencers I am not sure I believe her. I have not used any of the products from this line.
Good morning and thank you for this. Yes the ingredients list should be in descending order and I believe what drew people Mielle was their use of essential oils only now to find out they may not have been the best to use. As far as the bullying someone else in the community just made me aware that Mielle supporters were harassing people who were giving bad reviews. The truth of the matter is your products will not work on everyone nor will everyone like them.
Is she delusional? I bought their entire line on Amazon, and I have receipts that I sent them all back and requested a refund because my hair started falling out in clumps. This was actually before the company was acquired. Why don't they just spend time trying to find out what part of the formula is not working and fix it? I hate people who do not accept accountability.
From a legal perspective ( I am not a lawyer lol ) I do not think PnG and/or Mielle would ever come out and say that the products are damaging peoples’ hair because that admission would mean they knowingly sold products that were detrimental, especially once several people starting coming forward.
Oh my… I started using this entire line about six weeks ago (shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, edge control). I also feel that my edges have been getting thinner, but I didn’t quite make the connection. Thanks for disclosing this… I will stop using all of those products. By the way, do you mind sharing how long you used her products before that happened to your hair?
@klassicallykept and @makedadegannes5173 There's no safety wrapping on any of her products. I always thought that was odd bc anyone could sabotage her products. 🤔
I had no idea there was so much beauty drama!! I have never used Meille, & dont. Not because of this or any experience, just never got into the brand. But this is all so very interesting. Keep up your exceptional work!! Appreciate everything you share with us! ❤ Does CNN know you're out here?! 😉
lol Good morning and thank you! For me, I just wanted to try the Rosemary line, once it did not work I looked elsewhere, no hate, but I found Briogeo. CNN, highly doubt it lmbo.
9:29 this statement was definitely detrimental in a myriad of ways. The setting, with the noise and such in the background, her demeanor- she appeared petulant in the way she was responding. She didn’t take a moment to gather herself, it seemed as if she was reading a myriad of comments and then turned the camera on and responded. And it does FEEL like she’s not being transparent or listening to the consumers’ concerns.
I will say I don’t have a dog in this fight when it comes to the usage of the products. I literally purchased my first bottle of the rosemary oil days before seeing your first video on this topic. Social media can make or break a business and we as the consumers do need a bit more from Monique concerning the situation. The best line of this was “two truths can be true” because that is soooo real.
Good morning. I myself tried the rosemary oil and it was not for me. Since then I have not tried any Mielle products as I have found others that work for me. I think for many people they feel unheard but at the same time want to champion and continue to support the company because many people have gotten great results.
Nope. My hair became damaged and dry too. I think it might be her SUPPLIERS or P&G itself. That's where she needs to look for the real sabbatoge!! P&G bought it to destroy it...less competition. Black women hair is a multi billion dollars industry. Big companies do this all the time.
Did anyone notice where she is recording the post ? Just curious because it looks like she is in a mall or store. Why you make a post that is supposed to be serious in shopping center/mall? I would think she would have did this in her home or office. Actually when you looking closer it she might be in hotel lobby, but still would anybody make post like that in a hotel lobby?
Hello Mya I used the Rosemary oil and it made my scalp inch so I didn’t buy it again . The Mielle Pomegranate &Honey leave in conditioner worked well for me. I believe that Rosemary line just doesn’t work on some peoples hair. Thanks for sharing.💜🌹
Great vid, Mya! You said several things here that are important to consider. A class-action lawsuit has been officially filed 11/21/24 against Mielle & P&G. Regarding the other big box brands you mentioned who've also had lawsuits filed - as a professional who researches ingredients. It's the ingredients. It's ALWAYS the ingredients and how they interact with an individuals body chemistry. The short end of it is the amount of time it takes toxins to build up in a persons system and cause symptoms varies which can only happen with the presence of toxic ingredients. The presence of skin (scalp) irritants also plays a significant role. Start looking at the labels of the brands with lawsuits closer and see what ingredients they have in common then look those ingredients up. What I know for sure is the discovery phase of lawsuits includes public sources like all the videos and the comments under them and this is where the truth resides and there are thousands of affected people sharing their experiences. I stopped using and recommending Mielle products to my clients in 2019 when I noticed harmful ingredients creeping in to the products. May we all be safe out here because Mielle & P&G are just the most recent and far from the only ones. Godspeed!
I only used the oils from Mielle because my hair didn't care for the leave-ins. I loved the way initially the Rosemary & Mint made my scalp feel, but after about 20-30 minutes my scalp would become itchy and inflammed. I tried it multiple situations (freshly washed, prepoo-poo scalp treatment, hot oil treatment, etc) however I always had the same reaction. So my thinking is my scalp is sensitive in something in the formulation - which can happen to anyone with any product they try.
Me too, I have locs and used the edge control to retwist my hair after washing as well as the oil dropper on my scalp. My scalp was itching all the time could figure out why. Saw these videos stopped using them and now I’m good. Something isn’t right with it, all the itching started a year after.
I used the Mielle rosemary deep conditioner once and it was a little drying, but not the worst thing I ever tried. Didn’t like it enough to use again. My mother and aunt however both suffered severe hair loss and are still recovering.
When a product goes into mass production the quality of the product is likely to be compromised. Production companies want to get the product out to as many people as possible, while the company spends as least as possible. With that being said, the ingredients may not have changed, but as you said, the quality of the product may have changed in order to cut cost. I would also be willing to bet that the formula would also change once a product goes into mass production, for example: if the oil cost more/less than aloe, the company might decide to use more aloe than oil. So, all the same ingredients are there, but just in different quantities.
Wow this is so cringe. P&G should send Monique a cease and desist. She is literally ruining the brand with her comments and "transparency". She should just keep quiet and let it all die. Rosemary is a known irritant. Some folks simply can't tolerate it. So I am quite certain that many people had bad reactions to the products. Yeesh. She is ick.
Years ago when I was a loose natural I used the Pomegranate and Honey collection and the Rosemary Mint oil and had no issues. However, I stoped supporting the brand when influencer Linda Lynn was bullied and disrespected for her opinion/experience with a particular collection. I agree two things can be true at the same time: some consumers have experienced hair loss/trauma and some haven't. However to say all the experiences/complaints are a result of sabotage is dangerous as it disregards and invalidate those who have experienced hair loss/trauma.
Monica girl my hair started falling out I stopped using it my hair went back to normal. We can’t all be tripping. You can even tell in the look of her hair when she first started Mielle vs now. Her hair was healthier looking before she sold the company. Sigh
My daughter and I have had a good experience with Mielle. I started using it in Dec 2023 (after it was sold). I use almost every product in the rosemary mint line-some daily, some weekly etc. The front of my hair (where I was mostly applying the oil to strengthen my edges and grow my hair back from damage) has grown so much, it almost looks fake lol. But I agree with you - I do not like the way the brand responded to this and I especially agree “everyone cannot be lying”. I’m probably going to try the sunny isle rosemary mint oil next because I’ve heard good things about it, but I’ll continue to use the rosemary mint line because it works for me/my daughter and we have been using it for a year. I swear my daughter has the longest thickest 4b hair of a 3 year old ever lol
I worked with the company and Monique wasn’t too “friendly” and although I was compensated it was pennies. She honestly didn’t want me on the shoot because I was plus size(I was pregnant🙄) she wasn’t “Christ like” in person or personable.
Going natural from relaxed is such a big, emotional experience… and the beauty industry noticed it because we spend more on hair products than any other race. I think a lot of hair care lines jumped on the bandwagon the minute somebody read about curlygirl method/greenhouse method/LOC/etc. Every company in the drugstore from Pantene to Head and Shoulders took a stab at getting a piece of the pie back in the early 2010s. Conversely, brands who already catered to us started wanting straight hair money🤷🏽♀️ Sometimes I wonder if we might all be better off by making our own hair products; the women whipping up shea butter and chebe don’t have to worry about companies compromising their hair health for money 🤔
I feel bad for all involved. If you experienced hair damage because of her products, you have a right to voice that. Monique has a right to defend her brand, if, as she says, her products have not changed and are deemed to be safe. I do implore anyone experiencing hair damage and who attributes it to Mielle's products to go to a dermatologist to get confirmation and/or to rule out other issues.
Thank you for your thoughts on this catastrophe. Regarding defamation lawsuits and going public as far as I can recall what your saying is true unless P&G and/or Mielle enters into a settlement with the offenders. In that case there’s a clause of non disclosure in the agreement and it would never be made public. We as the public would never know. This is often the case with high profile lawsuits. The case suddenly goes away. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts in a dignified manner. Looking forward to seeing more!
Happy holidays I'm glad you touching based on this topic! I experienced hair loss using the rosemary line . Quality integrity and accountability is very important in the end of the day in this situation.
All I heard was Monique commanding black women to do free promo for her and her multi-billion dollar P&G owned company on the basis of her dubious allegation. Looking at the support she has she clearly has many women that will do this.
I experienced crown and edge hair loss after a month of use, but with all fairness, shortly after trying Mielle I tried As I Am Rosemary spray and had scalp irritation. It could simply be rosemary for me or the Mielle formulation started the irritation.
I bought the product shampoo and conditioner after the P&G purchase and it dried my hair and scalp. The only difference was hair product so Mielle is a no for me.
I became aware of the issues with Miele a few short months ago, on this channel. I am glad I did. I tried the Rosemary Mielle a couple years ago. I was surprised at all the hype about the hair care line. My hair was dry and tangled, just like the lady’s hair in the video; my hair is shorter. I was so disappointed and concerned because my hair is colored. Over a lot of time, I ended up mixing the remaining Mielle products with other products on my hair, and used it to wash my hairbrushes, combs, satin cap etc., so it wouldn’t be a total loss. I kept the bottle the oil came in, but I use it to mix my own concoctions. I just remembered, I tried the regular Mielle before the Rosemary, maybe a few years prior, and had a similar, but a little better result. My hair is medium length, 4C, and colored with a rinse. The product that I am currently using works wonders on my hair type, and I’m glad I found it. Perhaps my hair texture was just not conducive to Mielle’s ingredients/brand. Actually, in the past, store bought products yielded better results than Mielle, for me. Thanks so much, KK for staying on top of this saga. BTW, I don’t believe this case will see the light of a trial. Monique and Mielle’s current owners DO NOT want that deposition smoke. BUT, I could be wrong… Reciprocally, I would enjoy eating popcorn and sipping tea, watching you editorialize every detail.☺️ Keep up the great work, KK!
5:53 this entire video was unprofessional and unserious. She provided no context about the influencer being “paid”. She didn’t address the fact that 100s of women have a shared experience.
Unfortunately as much as I wanted to support her company I too experienced loss of my edges and terrible hair breakage. I stopped using the product I purchased (the rosemary and mint oil) a year ago. After an intense trim my hair has grown back.
I absoloutly love how you are so unbiased with the subject matters of your videos. I wish more people would make content like yours. 🙂 I think what needs to be understood is that even if they are still using the same ingredients, if they are not the same quality or if they are not the exact same ingredients that were being sourced and used in the products before P&G acquired the company, then the product has indeed changed. Technically Monique is correct when she says they are using the same ingredients, no lie there, but if those ingredients are being sourced from a different supplier, and as you said, if the quantity or quality of the ingredient has been changed, if ANYTHING has changed pertaining to the ingredients, then the product has changed. I personally would like to see the ingredients and where they are sourced before and after the acquisition.
Hello and thank you so much! I am so glad the videos are not coming across bias. I give my experience, other women's' experiences and then try to look at it from all sides!
We also have to be intention abput herbal products. Theres a reason why herbalist plant match to make sure that herb is for you and your makeup. Not everyone can use every herb. It's medicine ultimately.
I used Mielle when I was still experimenting and was scammed into the whole “natural kinky curly hair care products” debacle and the mousse is the only product that seemed to work for my hair. I never recommended this brand to anyone but gave it as an option because each person’s hair is different. It completely dried my hair out!
She cited one person paid...but she can't say all women are lying and failed to address their experience. She has become rich and doesn't appreciate how she got there. She tried to appear relaxed in that video while looking awkward and reading a script. I won't support her because I don't like her. Period..
Not sure why everyone is all upset…..these products were never good to begin with….Every single product I tried from Mielle I gave away even paid the shipping. The absolute worst for me was the Rosemary line hair mask and the Pomegranate leave in….dry dry dry. Her products are full of glycerine so they feel nice initially. I switched to Innersense and haven’t looked back
I used the pomegranate honey conditioner and hair cream once (it was in my stash) loved the conditioner, but the rest was meh. Then, the linda linn scenario happened. It was completely inappropriate, especially since MANY influencers did not like that rice water line. After all that, i decided not to patronize the company. Those were poor decisions that Monique and her husband doubled-down on....and there are too many great black owned brands without this drama and controversy who have better products. I don’t badmouth Mielle, but i do not patronize nor recommend them to folks who ask for suggestions on natural hair products. Not when there is SheScentIt, Adwoa, Sarenzo Beauty, Miche, Nowiamnappy, Ominira Naturals, and so many others... #iluvourhair
I’ve been natural for 6 years now, I have very thick 4c hair. My braider has been the only besides me touching my hair since the summer of 2022. Recently she done my hair twice in one month. She pointed out that my hair was thinning.I was only using mielle from the shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, oil even the edge control. My hair hasn’t thinned since 2020 when I was using cantu.
The Rosemary Mint is a strengthening set! Just like a adding protein to strengthen hair once or twice per month! I use Mielle products and its actually working to strengthen my hair for growth. Her Rosemary Mint set should be use in place of a protein treatment, if you prefer! That’s how strong it is! If used too often for weekly or biweekly shampooing, yes, Rosemary Mint Strengthening will dry out your hair, just like a protein treatment! If using the Oil on scalp, make sure it washed out to within 1 hour or after overnight to avoid scalp irritation. So be cautious and use Mielle products for your hair concerns. I hope what stated here helps someone in their hair journey! Thank you sharing! Sharing is caring!😊❤
The only sabotage involving myself is when I decided to try the Mielle Rosemary and Mint rinse-out conditioner the one time and my hair immediately matted up like one big dreadlock and I had to shave my waist-length hair all off.
The Linda Lynn response was why I stopped using ALL Mielle products. I don’t purchase any Mielle products to this day. It’s disingenuous to say you are using your platform to educate and uplift when you did the exact opposite to Linda. You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow. Actions have consequences.
I big chopped my hair a year ago and i’m VERY familiar with ingredients in hair products and my mom is a stylist so I’m familiar with hair products and I was making my own products until I got lazy. After my big chop I didn’t use the same products with each hair wash because I was trying to find out what gives me the slippage that I like so one week I unfortunately used the Miele products and noticed one section of my hair looked a totally different texture and it stayed like that for months so I paid extra close attention to that section and gave it extra tlc. Also when i used the Miele products I was combing what i thought to be shedding but it was big balls of hair. I thought ok i don’t comb through it on a regular so it must be ok. If it wasn’t for the difference in texture like an over processed relaxer (cotton like )I wouldn’t have thought twice about Miele but that didn’t sit right so I gave it to my mom’s friend who insisted I just wanted to throw away money and I was crazy. Ask me why I saw her last month with PATCHES of hair missing?? I forgot all about her taking the products until I saw a video about a woman’s hair falling out and Miele products because I thought my hair that didn’t work with it. I asked my moms friend what she’s been using and she said “The products you were throwing away” What’s sad is her products are costly and just because of the price she assumed that it’s automatically good. I just shook my head and sent her a few videos and told her to remember I told her something wasn’t right with this brand but she said I was WASTING MONEY by just throwing it away. But I believe these women 💯%
This is very interesting. It made me smile. I agree, one does not lead to the next because the original influencer was lying, doesn't mean everyone is lying. Well, it is clear what the legal strategy is to discredit the source, which would cast doubt on the claim's legitimacy. Now, all that would have lumped themselves in this falsely will drop out, and those that are legit some would decide they do not want to go any further because of the lie. Of course, some will still go through with their case, but the strength will be diminished without a large number of claimants. Therefore, pushing forward will take a lot of work, making it time-consuming and costly. P&G and Mielle have deep pockets that can prolong this matter in court using the original lie as cause for dismissal, and the case may die a slow death if those remaining can't prove their individual claims are valid. Very interesting to see how it all plays out.
Hair products are just like medicines, it affects everyone differently. So, if I’m not having any issues with a product I will keep using it. If I see that it no longer works, then I will move on to another product.
Ive always used the rosemary strengthening shampoo and deep conditioner in my hair right before ive gotten braids and my hair would itch so bad and when i took my braids out within 2 weeks my hair was coming out in clumps. I always thought it was the braids but once i heard the stories i stopped using before my braids and i currently dont have any Issues 🤷🏾♀️. So i definitely think something is going on with that line. If there's sabotage maybe is within the company who's making the formula. My hair definitely was affected. I threw those products out. I cant speak for the other lines within the brand but that one is a no no.
So if you are a content creator, of course you can be paid by a competitor because you are probably reviewing many competing products. This felt weak to me.
I think for a lot of people the statement made the situation worse. Yes! As a content creator you get paid by a company to do a review and/or promote their latest product. The problem Monique is claiming while the creator was promoting a competitors products she was bad mouthing Mielle. I would hope this was not written into the creator contract. I am curious, should there be a lawsuit, how this plays out in court.
*Case in point, Marlena Stell was the one that revealed this secret more than 5 years ago that influencers can be paid a lot of money to trash competitors products and influencers can do no wrong in their fans eyes.*
Thank you for this video. I agree with what you are saying 100%. I personally have never used this product line. On my healthy hair journey over the past 19 months. I have been using less and less store bought products. What works very well for me are homemade organic Ayurvedic haircare products. I make them myself, therefore, I know exactly what are in them. Right now I use 75% homemade DIY organic products and 25% store bought products. The store bought products I use, I have been using for over 20 years and are 'ride or die' products that are not expensive at all. I started reading ingredients in haircare products over 20 years ago. I have only added one new store bought product to my regimen. Which is pricy, that I order form the UK. However, because it's a product I only use a few times per year, a bottle will last me over a year.👍😊
I have not had any issues with the product. But I don't use the Rosemary Mint line. I am keeping a close eye on how my hair behaves, and if I see any issues, I will discontinue use of their products. I am still rooting for Monique, and I hope she's taking this seriously.
And that is perfectly fine! I also think that for the people that the products worked for they should not be harassed. Like you said you will keep an eye on your hair.
forget being nice and I don't trust at all. her rosemary hair oil made my full thick hair turn into a thin mess in less then 6 months. I don't use a lot of products. so that's how I figured out it was the rosemary oil and this was way before I started seeing people talk about their bad experience. I feel like they must of sent bad batches to the black community.
I think what bothers me about this is how Monique and her husband are treating people who don't like the products. (I'm only on YT so I didn't know about that until recently) I get that no one wants their brand to be disparaged, but anyone who develops a products has to accept the fact that no product is truly all inclusive. Some people aren't going to like it or it won't work for some. With my hair issues, being that it is the only product that I've used (and I've tried a plethora) that is the least offensive on my hair, I probably will continue to use, but the way she and her husband responded to negative reviews leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Good morning and you make a great point, your cannot be for everyone. Harassing people who do not care for your products is bad business and as you said can leave bad taste in someone's mouth. I am glad that you have found something that works for you
She never seems sincere and my hair feel out It was the only new product introduced. Once I stopped using it , I’ve been fine. It’s not always a black thing sometimes it’s business. The truth mattes but at some point when there is a pattern some may just be wrong.
Some people don't read labels and instructions, others misuse things. Overuse can have adverse effects. Some of the products might not have been stored by the distributers at the proper temperature causing the product to develop mold. Mielle needs to investigate where those people who claim damage purchased their products. Some people might have purchased dupes. I have suspected some of my hair products from amazon to be dupes. I have even purchased tried and true products from Target that damaged my hair. One particular product from Target which went on sale for a very cheap price, dried my hair out causing severe breakage, this is what sent me natural. My stylist said, the product went on sale because Target had them sitting in their hot warehouse probably for years way beyond their reccommended shelf life. If products are not stored at the appropriate temperature for extended periods of time, it can cause chemical changes in the formula. Mielle should investigate this issue with their distributors and retailors and not disregard customer complaints.
Good morning this is true as well about misuse and overuse. You make a great point: and this extends to many products on Amazon. Many people have speculated that some things bought on Amazon may be counterfeit.
Good morning! You make very good points! Many people even outside of hair care have speculated that some of the products being sold on Amazon are counterfeit.
There were people making videos about hair loss with Mielle back in 2023. I tried the oil throughout my scalp, ends and on the edges but was using it daily from late 2022 to 2023. I had shedding throughout my hair and my edges that I bought the oil for shed even more. I stopped using it when I saw a video on YT about it. Since then my edges grow, but only to a certain point. It’s not just the extreme edges but the perimeter hair that was affected. Growth became stunted only growing so much then stopping, growth was thin, and extremely slow. Note that the rest of my hair has recovered, but it took a year to get rid of the split ends because they traveled up the shaft. The edges are growing but stunted. I wear mini twists so was using the oil on the twists, my scalp, edges, and 360 perimeter. Not all hair products are for everyone’s hair. 😞
Good morning and thank you for sharing this. I hope you are able to fully recover. Yes, every product does not work for any and everyone, however; Monique needs to be okay with that.
17:35 if anyone is sabotaging her, it would likely be P&G. They would want to eliminate the competition by acquiring the company then ruining it. However, her nasty attitude makes it easier for people to turn against her specifically.
Excellent video! I've never used Mielle, but my grandson had one of the leave-in conditioners in his hair. Very strong perfume smell that I don't like.
Idk I used the rosemary oil and my hair became extremely damaged. I wear protective styles for it wasn’t immediately noticeable. I used it for several months overtime. I never blamed the product because who really knows also who’s to say I was using it wrong or who’s to say it was never meant for my hair. I did stop using the products. Olaplex product did the same thing years prior with immediate notice. There brand still seems to be thriving. Hopefully she will have a similar outcome. I due think hair care brands of ALL kinds need to advise what hair type these products are for.
Thay rosemary masque did the same thing to my hair that happened to Tamara's and I am natural. I have never experienced so much breakage, not even when I was relaxed. I will never buy her products again.
Okay, I never used the Rosemary line. I stuck to the original line and the Hawwain line. A lot of those lines were created too quickly, and it looked like greed to me. I'm sorry that people suffered behind her carelessness. I would be ready to sue.
Thank God I do not have these issues. I do not spend a lot of money on hair care and my nature 4C hair is down to my buttocks. I wash my hair with Dr Bonners and if I need a conditioner I blend some aloe Vera plant and some of my essential oils. I have been natural for 25 years. I am not on any social media, I do not follow influencers. Your video just popped up on my timeline. I mainly use UA-cam to watch gardening videos and Documentaries. I keep my hair in a headwrap most of the time and I eat healthy. I have well water so I do not know if that helps. I do not use any other products on my hair. I do not need it.
what exactly is in her products that is causing the hair loss? Does anybody know? This seems odd because so many people said this oil grew their hair.....This is so sad....
It was taking my hair out and I thought it was something I was doing so I kept using it. But now I only get regular shedding with Mane and Tail shampoo/conditioner along with Cantù products.
This is the first I've heard about this, as I am trying Mielle out as Carols Daughter products aren't just what they use to be. I haven't tried the Rosemary line as I don't like mint, but I have found their other line Honey Pom line ok. I've been natural for over 10 years and it's been a long journey finding products that work for my hair. Personally I think it's the wrong tact to thing sabotage if there are countless customers stating the same issue. I would look into those cases and get the batch numbers and see if there is a plant issue and actually show she cares about her customers and trying to source the issue. Pointing fingers and blaming people is a bad look.
The reason I’ll probably never order Mielle products is because of the behavior of Monique but especially her husband.
And this is understandable. The truth of the matter is your products are not meant for everyone.
Yes energy is there ! Unfortunately it transfer in to the brand integrity and trustworthiness.
Ive never seen her husband. What has he been doing?
@@RestingVirgoFace he harassed the UA-camr who gave the Miellé rice water line a bad review. He found her personal information through the payment system and called her to intimidate her into recanting her review.
The Mielle Rosemary Oil took my edges out years before this scandal started. Yet I never wrote or said anything about it until today. To each it's own.
Good morning and I am sorry that happened to you and I hope you have been able to recover.
Products with high amounts of rosemary can be harmful to the scalp and follicles. She needs to adjust the amount.
Yes, I experienced the same. And I believe I have the 'old' formula. That's a big one hole in my scalp.
Her shampoo use to dry my hair out so bad and this is when it wasn’t that popular
@@startingpilateslittle coconut oil and black Jamaican castor oil.
In my opinion, this is an unnecessary and odd response video from a cooperation. If, a conspiracy to derail her business, then take them to court, not social media 🙄
I think people are also questioning why now? This has been going on for months.
It’s someone’s opinion she couldn’t take them to court unless it was clear their review was malicious or false
So ONE influencer brought her brand down??? When mannnyyyyy, including myself, have experienced hair loss bcz of her products? Make it make sense, ma'am. She's doing everything besides taking responsibility.
And I think this is the problem that many people are having!
And she didn't file a lawsuit. Especially against the "company who paid the influencer."
Good morning. I was not aware that Mielle supports were threatening these ladies. Now I understand why this was such a big deal.
Smh.
We can still support black businesses and hold them accountable. Transparency is def missing because everyone isn’t on the payroll sis.
Why did the PR team approve this
Many people did not like her initial response!
Very unprofessional. That’s what a PR team is for. The founder and her husband should not be in the mix like this

Many people speculate the rosemary oil “ending” up on her favorites list for Amazon was the beginning of the shift as well !
There were way too many people complaining about "hair loss" for it to not be real... She's worried about losing money.
Gaslighting at best. Not listening to your primary consumers is a huge mistake on her behalf. Her brand will never be the same. 💔
Thank you! I was not aware that Linda posted the conversation, but this was still out of line and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
This was it for me as well.
You have made a great point.
You cannot have it both ways.
Influencer or not there are women and/or men who Mielle will not work for. That's business.
I can honestly say I purchased some Mielle products and I felt as though my hair got thinner. Will never purchase again.
I hope you were able to recover
Good morning,
Thank you for this!
@@KlassicallyKept ♥♥♥
I was not aware that they also obtained her address. Out of line.
@KlassicallyKept I remember her saying that, which means they had to access her order to do so and that is just scary.
I bought then returned a product from the rosemary line (conditioner I think) because it dried my hair out. And this happened a few years ago
Good morning, I am glad you were able to recognize that the conditioner dried your hair out and then your acted accordingly.
Does CNN know you're out here?! 😉
lol Good morning and thank you!
@@KlassicallyKept I completely agree. And her other lines don’t seem to be having any issues.
She looked a mess as well
Definitely a mall
Hello Mya I used the Rosemary oil and it made my scalp inch so I didn’t buy it again . The Mielle Pomegranate &Honey leave in conditioner worked well for me. I believe that Rosemary line just doesn’t work on some peoples hair. Thanks for sharing.💜🌹
Of course! Yes! All products will not work for everyone. I am glad that you found a collection that worked for you !
It “not working” is very different from causing harm.
Godspeed!
Good morning and thank you for this !
You don't know. You're speculating.
Yeesh. She is ick.
Yessss, I worked on a campaign with her.
Sigh
I've noticed that awhile ago, hee hair doesn't look as healthy & long.
lol that is not my business , but some have commented this as well.
Many people have spoken about he disposition.
Conversely, brands who already catered to us started wanting straight hair money🤷🏽♀️
Sometimes I wonder if we might all be better off by making our own hair products; the women whipping up shea butter and chebe don’t have to worry about companies compromising their hair health for money 🤔
Great advice!
Good morning and thank you.
Okay, so I was thinking along the correct lines.
I am very curious about how this is going to play out
@ Me too!
Happy holidays I'm glad you touching based on this topic! I experienced hair loss using the rosemary line . Quality integrity and accountability is very important in the end of the day in this situation.
It is very important.
I think Mielle can bounce back but first they have to address peoples' concerns.
I hope you are on your way to recovering !
Nope! I stopped using immediately & removed them for now. 😢
I think many people are still apprehensive
All I heard was Monique commanding black women to do free promo for her and her multi-billion dollar P&G owned company on the basis of her dubious allegation. Looking at the support she has she clearly has many women that will do this.
This explains so much 😡😡😡. My hair was so thin.
Lying and not taking accountability are insane. The critic started on UA-cam way before TikTok.
This is unfortunate. Many people had stated their hair was dry after using the products.
I won’t ever buy that brand because of how they treated Linda.
Good morning and thank you for sharing.
The Rosemary oil did not work for me as well.
I am glad you are on the road to recovery!
This is true as well. Herbs can be powerful.
I used the Mielle Rosemary Mint and Peony conditioner took almost all of my hair out. My scalp was so inflamed and full of scabs. 😞
I am interested to see how this plays out as well. Great explanation lol !
Hair products are just like medicines, it affects everyone differently. So, if I’m not having any issues with a product I will keep using it. If I see that it no longer works, then I will move on to another product.
Great point!
I’ll be honest Mielle Mayne Choice Shea Moisture all of them have always fried my hair out so I don’t use them 🤷🏽♀️
Ive always used the rosemary strengthening shampoo and deep conditioner in my hair right before ive gotten braids and my hair would itch so bad and when i took my braids out within 2 weeks my hair was coming out in clumps.
I genuinely wonder how many people speaking out in support of her are actively using the products.
However, because it's a product I only use a few times per year, a bottle will last me over a year.👍😊
Good afternoon! Many people have stated they are going back to the basics or they will start DIY. With DIY you know exactly what is in your products.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Yep! Everyone isn't lying. My edges started thinning after I started using the rosemary edge control....🤦🏽♀️
I only tried the original line and loved it. But stopped supporting after the linda Lynn incident.
Many people this decision, which is unfortunate
This is what a lack of accountability and integrity looks like. She’s a terrible businesswoman as well as a person.
I was waiting for your video you brought out great points ❤
Thank you !
I stand behind my experience and I stopped using it before it surfaced as a public issue.
Excellent video! I've never used Mielle, but my grandson had one of the leave-in conditioners in his hair. Very strong perfume smell that I don't like.
Thank you!
@KlassicallyKept The lawsuit against Mielle says that the hair growth oil contains benzene, a potentially harmful ingredient.
I'm so glad I make my own hair products using what grows from Earth. 💯
Thanks for sharing & so will I. 😉
Thank you for sharing this!
OOOOO I know your hair is beautiful
2:52 I remember this like it was yesterday. I never used any Mielle products because of this.
Someone is trying to ruin her business- the person who is formulating the ingredients
what exactly is in her products that is causing the hair loss?
