BRAND NEW MUSIC RELEASE ***** "DAY" FEATURING WILL CALHOUN/ LIVING COLOUR & MICHAEL JACKSONS BV's ua-cam.com/video/HPtHBhTKFXM/v-deo.html
Agreed 100%
More that I see that bass drum kicking with a single feet at that speed for more than 3 minutes with out missng a shoot, and then soloing indipendently over it, I think is it humanly possible?? Never seen something like that
Also with Constant Hi Hat count. Lol fricken NUTS!!!! blows my mind. My muscles can't do that yet. Hi Hat count is hard when using multiple rudiments :p serious brain and muscle discipline.
Giuseppe Raffa its because he is Davids dude
+BustYourBallsMetalXD it helps if you just don't think, and just go for it.
I saw him do a clinic around 2000, and he said he practiced that while watching TV for hours at a time.
Not to forget how musical he is playing while keeping the right foot moving at speed indecently, I would love to book some lessons him with. Will if you are reading this please reach out to me. Will is beast around the kit
Monstrously good... I love its independence and tribality❤
Will is a monster. Incredibly talented
Oh man... I LOVE that flat ride!!!
I remember him at Berklee in the 80s. He was amazing even back then. I still play stuff that I stole from him! A great player.
aaaah ... Will Calhoun is just a great drummer !! I do love his musicality !!!

damn, ..that is ingenious...he set a off-pace with his left foot at first,...later on, depending on the dynamic..he set a tone dynamic on the left...awesome!!!!!
His style has evolved so much toward a jazzier feel. Amazing.....kinda reminds me of what Steve Smith has become today. From a Rock drummer to a jazzier version of greatness
I keep coming back to this every few months, incredible performance. So lucky to have seen him live in a small venue in Melbourne with Vinx and Doug Wimbish as Jungle Funk. The wear on that left crash says it's seen a lot of love.
Man that right foot just keeps going and going and going and going!
definitely gives me something to work on!!!!
Pure caffeine
Ouch lol
I had the pleasure of watching Will play with Living Colour back in February. He sounded amazing. So glad I got to see them live.
His dynamics are incredible!!!!! goooooodness!!!!!
My favorite drummer of all time. His timing and how he plays within beats just blows my mind.
This dude is killn. Will Calhoun is one of my favorite drummers.
Will is such a phenomenal drummer. He is so good. His hands are ridiculous. His groove is as good as Bernard Purdie. Also his intensity and musical choices are alway powerful. Love him
The simplicity and musicvalidad that the great musicians only develop
Holy moly, absolute bliss listening to this
I had the pleasure of meeting him...a stellar man with amazing skill and great character!
love that left side bassdrum
This man is one absolutely incredible player. Such technique and fluidity
This is the first time I've ever really watched this guy play and holy crap.. Such unique style and feel!
Will's thee man!
I can't wait 2c him live again!
All that's missing from this video is
his "Love drum".
I had the pleasure of seeing one of his clinics way back when I first started drumming at around 12. Somewhere I have a signed picture of 12 year old me with him, definitely played a huge role in my musical journey
All time hero of drums!
Will is off the chain-Incredible drummer!
Wow, out of this planet. Weirdly awesome
great selection of cymbals
Will was always awesome
We love you Will
Love it!!
Woah that was awesome.
That kit sounds amazing
Sempre stato il mio idolo
Well that was wonderfully weird.
Great feel and dynamics
This guy was one of my first favorite drummers. Good to see him with Mapex. He is a very versatile player.
Very impressive!!
excellent playing. really enjoy the sound of the Mapex kit !!
Im no expert on poly rhythms or double kick drumming but holy shit!!! His foot work and godly feel is hypnotic, and his drum sound!!❤ The only guy who reminds of this is Sonny Emory, both of these guys need WAY more recognition!!
AMAZING!!!
I love this!
I have this drum kit. Mapex are great sounding kits
James Cowell Yes they are. I have a saturn 4 in red/blue hybrid sparkle.
I love the way he seems to be enjoying himself while playing
absolute machine!
Sick... beautiful man.
Fer chrissake, Will Calhoun is one of the best drummers on the planet. I've seen him at clinics, with Living Colour, and once with Head Fake at a tiny club in NYC, and he is always musical, always grooving, always inspiring. Thanks for letting me gush.
That’s how you play drums! Inspirational!
Madd skills Mr. Calhoun!
Very cool! I'm very interested in Will Calhoun's playing now!
So musical!
lovely
My favorite band living colour
How cool! he still get his signature cymbals even though they are discontinued :)
BEAST!
This is awesome
incredible.
One the main things that drew me to Living Colour in the first place was the incredible musicianship - this is as much beautiful as it is technically excellent.
Ooooooh, wie geil ist das!
this is madness!
Amazing feet work!
Awsome musician
So good
Always was a monster. Still doing it.
Saw LC in New Haven in 1990. This man blew my brains all over the place.
Has been and forever will be the effin man!!!
God he is a gift to those who love drums!!!
wow.... he is using opposing bass drum tunings. Never heard that before. Unique effect.
Love the sound juxtaposition of the rock kick against the higher jazz kick! Great contrast
For the love of god why aren't this mans signature cymbals still available?!
Capitalism sucks
awesome
I honestly forgot how much of a influence you were on my drumming!
Gr8 Gr8 solo!!!
Class...😉
So amazing am goner use a bit of art sounding terminology but the way he kept It fresh an interesting just mezmorizing
dam he's got five things going on at once awesome he reminds me of Steve Smith old drummer from journey he played jazz fusion
Ace!
SuperSTAR!
This is so sick ...
excellent original et créatif
🎵I'm the cult of personality🎵
Mapex drums sound amazing!
That 3:50 to 4:08 tickles that spot in the brain that's wonderful...... Like a kid at Christmas.
dayummm warmachine's good!!
I went to a drum seminar with him in 92. He is a goddamn drum scientist
Super fucking sick tone and playing style!
excelente. batero. will. puro. talento.
I think that having the smaller kick tuned up really high to sound like an upright bass is a great idea, making it sound very musical.
His transformation from the Buddy Rich Scholarship performance to this is amazing
Definitely different.
I knew he was good but...goddamn! He's fucking great.
Just saw him live
This is like the dopest shit ever
Totally! When he stops the solo and busts into that bell of the high hat beat I was like OHHHHHH SHIITTTTTTTT!!!!
that tune on the left bass drum... S2
Saw him in Gotha (Germany), with Darryl Jones was awsome:
does ANYONE know what that offhand crash is? that really dry one? sounds GREAT.
djent is totally a genre It's kind of reminiscent of a Jack Dejohnette model/series from years back by Sabian... great dry effect, love the sound...
Very musical, grooving solo with some serious speed chops tossed in for good measure. And yeah? That 'Desert Ride' is friggin' acrimoniously dry!
this is too insane
nice
Anyone know what that is 2nd rack and first floor tom? The Ambient ride perhaps?
