Carlos idea of putting his own twist on everything is the best guarantee for laughing whilst Arne is looking forward for the right moment to lick the spoon or the bowl. Best Comedy Boys💯Thank you❣️
Good cake but you didn’t need the cream inside Carlos, sorry to say Arne was right. But all the same it looked as if it was tasty.it’s just the cream making it slide. , with the quantity of it. . Never mind third time lucky, where would we be without a good laugh while your cooking. Haha😅 you have nothing to get the coconut to stick to on the side, but the cake looks good inside.
As someone else said, you need to use a mixer not a blender. Also, you need to cool the cakes thoroughly first otherwise the frosting melts. Then, place one of the layers on the plate with the flat side facing UP, frost it with about a third of the mixture and then place the other cake flat side DOWN and use the other two-thirds of the mixture to frost the top and sides. The addition of the whipped cream layer has made it slippery too. You could just enjoy that on the side.
It’s the cream that is making cake slide. I think you should serve the cake with cream, instead of mixing it with the frosting. Arne is shaping up as a baker, and Carlos you should be a little bit more patient. But it’s a success so enjoy!
you guys are sooooo funny. When I was a child, my mother made a cake with a layer of jello in the middle. When she carried the cake to the table, the jello started jiggling. She started laughing and the jello wiggled some more, and then she laughed more. And when she put it on the table, the jello wiggled right off the cake and down the table
As much as I’m sure the baking tips are appreciated, I’m almost glad they just went for it and the cake was slipping and sliding around because I needed that laugh today 😂 ❤
Oh my, you guys are the best!! Please continue to be creative, it's so much more fun (which you know for sure!!). I love how Arne didn't want cream in the first place and then finished the bowl as soon as possible 🤣 Please, Carlos, keep being creative!! I just love the two of you cracking up over things, you bring so much joy and laughter to us. Thank you 🥰
This is thoroughly delightful and endearing! Please never improve your baking skills. The raw creativity involved is perfection. And the cake looks scrumptious!
Cakes need to be cold before adding the frosting. Stir frosting in the can until fluffy. Place a ring of frosting on bottom layer then add whipped cream in the center to hold it in. Add top cake layer. Do a small amount of frosting over top and place in freezer to set the frosting; then add final layer of frosting. You both did great and the cake looked 🤤
Really enjoyed this! It's what would happen if Inspector Clouseau tried to bake and frost a cake. Just remember: "Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better!" ❤❤
You are using a blender you need to whip air into your batter. So you use a hand mixer which has whisks, which beat the mix to add air. You get a airy more fluffy cake. Love the cooking episodes.
Loving everyone’s comments here. Loving more this episode. I sure hope Dolly sees this. She has such a wonderful sense of humor. I know she would love you guys😂❣️😂
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am a quilter who is trying to learn quilting basics, which led me to you just a couple of weeks ago. As it is still snowy here in Michigan, I have been binge watching your videos. They are teaching me knitting and introducing me to you and your country, and making me laugh.
Carlos, your twists make us laugh. Whether you add your disastrous twists to make the baking fun, or whether you stick to the instructions and make Dolly proud, is up to you. The cake looks delicious anyway and I love the way Arne turned his back to the camera whilst he ate the rest of the cream. This is the best cooking show around. xxxx
My husband and I were laughing so hard! You want some tips? Canned icing is hard so it’s good to stir it up so it softens. Letting the cake cool longer and putting the round side onto the plate would help as well! It looked so good in the end! ❤❤
This was so much fun to watch. All that matters is that it tasted good in the end and you had some laughs making it. Thanks for sharing another baking session with us as it is always a good time and makes my day!
Guys add coconut between the layers to keep the cakes together. Also slice the tops to have flat layers. I was crying until I watched you two. I am smiling. I love how you two can turn my frown upside down. Thank you
It's always best to frost the sides of cake first. Then frost the top. As usual you had me in hysterics. You'll be experts by the time you go through all the mixes! Just love the two of you. Always makes my day.
Make sure your cake is completely cool. A warm cake will melt the frosting. Use a metal cake spatula to spread the frosting. Dipping it in a glass of hot water helps spread the frosting. You can mix the whipped cream with the frosting in small quantities to make a fluffier frosting. But not much. Whip the cream to stiff peaks before you add it. Most important....make sure those cakes are cooled down all the way. If all else fails,....use a 9x13 pan for a one layer cake.
You guys did great!! Maybe one tip to keep everything from sliding around, is place the flat sides of the 2 cakes together in the middle (first layer on the platter would go upside down....put your filling on, then place second cake layer on top, right side up) Love to ❤️ you both from Montana!
What fun! Arne had the right idea with the skewer but you needed more of them and cut them off below the top of the cake. Tjis will stabilize your cake. Then remove them as you cut the cake. There is also such a thing as a naked cake where only the tops are frosted. Then if you want cream in the middle...make a ring around the layer with just frosting. Put your cream within the ring then place the top layer of your cake on top. The ring of frosting will hold the layers together and prevent the cream from dripping out. You could also put jam, lemon curd or cut up fruit in the center of the ring. All great choices! Keep the laughs coming as we all need and appreciate them.
There is a difference between cooking and baking. In cooking there is a lot of room to be creative, and you can taste along the way. In baking it is more like chemistry/science if you change one thing it changes the composition, and you don't know how until it is finished baking, or when your putting the cake together Still the cakes have looked great, and by your reactions have tasted great, too. I think I want to see if they sell them near me and give one a try.
Love to watch and share a slice of your coconut confection. First layer of cake- put top of cake face down. Apply a thin coat of frosting to cover, then add additional frosting. The first thin layer of frosting is called a crumb coat. Frost the top and sides in the same way. Turning the bottom layer ‘upside down’ will prevent the open gap between layers. You could even add a layer of whipped cream with the frosting…just imagine how honed in your skills will be after baking all in your Dolly inventory. It’s a pleasure watching you two experiment and have fun learning something new.🎉
Tip 1 turn the layer that you are using on the bottom upside down then frost on flat side. Tip 2 work with a completely cooled cake icing a fresh cake is really tricky. Tip3 next cake add either cream whipped with a bit of sugar or the icing but not both. Tip4 when you add the second layer put the flat side down so the two flats or bottoms of the cake are together and that should sole the sliding issue The top of the cake is the rounded part. Also, if your bottom cake does not lay flat on the kickplate, you can trim the bump off the cake. It will be the bottom of the cake and no one will see it and Arnie can eat it lol so fun to watch keep practising guys.
Omg …. I love your baking episodes because I know I’m going to giggle a lot. As long as it tastes good, you are not entering any baking competitions after all. I love your muddled method so much more 😊
So many very good comments! Another one is: if you want event tastier coconut, spread it very thinly on a baking sheet and toast it for only a few minutes in the oven, cool, then set it aside. Do this in advance of baking your cake layers. Sprinkle it on with your fingers and gently pat on the iced cake. Don’t add any cream!
I am a baker and you can add a small amount of the whipped cream to the frosting. After the frosting is lighter you then add more whip cream. It is called sacrificing the batter. 😉
The first 20 seconds and I am breathless with laughter. I totally understand how Arne can't begin organizing his knitting needles until he's embroidered something. I love it!
Love watching the two of you. Have for several years. I want to try cooking with Dolly's cake mixes. One thing I do with a cake mix is cook cookies. My grandkids love to help me make the cookies. They are quick and take less time tell they can lick the bowl, beater & eat the cookies. Recipe is Mix in a mixer (or stir) dry cake mix, 2 eggs & 1/2 cup oil in a bowl. This makes a thick batter that we use a small ice cream scoop to plop the batter on a cookie sheet. I get about 12 cookies spaced out on a cookie sheet a (it will spread a little). Bake 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 - 12 minutes. Frost with frosting when cool. The coconut cookies would be good with coconut sprinkled on top after frosting.
Your laughter is infectious! I wouldn’t give up on the cream, but maybe try mixing some of the frosting in with it. Hey, you have plenty to try and it’s going to taste good either way. And use a warm metal knife to frost… ? Maybe?
Fun video. I recommend cutting off the "butts" off the cakes after they cool. The butt is the rounded top - cut it straight across. Second, put the cut side down on the cake plate . The butts you can freeze for a snack for some later date or nibble on now. Third, spread the jarred icing on the smooth side that is facing up. Place the second cake on top - cut side down on the frosting that you just spread. The two together should be level - no rounded top. Then you could spread whipped cream frosting (that Carlos made) on top or use the rest of the jarred icing. The jarred icing is quiet thick and that is why the cake would slip around when you were spreading the jarred frosting with having whipped cream on the inside. Whipped cream is quiet soft. Then as you did, sprinkle coconut around the sides (like Arne did) and on the top of the cake.
Just watching this now. I like you two so much, no matter what happens, and lots happen planned or not, you are never mean to each other and you enjoy what you do. Bravo!
Arne you are right, the cake should have been cold before frosting it so the frosting does not melt or seep into the cake and no cream in the middle because it just makes the layers slide around. Pure frosting (not mixed with cream Carlos!) is good and sticky, so keeps the layers stuck together making it easier to frost the top. Also, stick the flat sides together or else it’s like trying to frost the top of a spinning top when you try to decorate the top of the cake! Poor Arne was getting so upset, bless him, he gets so worried about his Dolly cakes! Domestic chaos in the Arne and Carlos house is pure joy to watch. Take care 👨🍳🎂🍰
Tips… cut a bit off the top of the bottom layer to flatten it. Whip the icing before decorating to get some air in it. You could lightly toast the coconut in the oven or in a dry frying pan to add a different flavour. If you want cream in the middle, pipe some icing at the edges and put the whipped cream inside. The icing will stick to the top layer and hold in the cream. Your cake did look yummy and sounds like you enjoyed it.
So, sadly, I agree - you can’t add the cream. It makes the top layer slide. And I would put the bottom layer top down - flat/bottom side up - and then the flat/bottom side of the top layer down on top of the filling - that way you have the two flat sides together and would look like the cake box picture. But, the bottom line is the taste - which seemed like that worked. So you were successful!!! Thanks for another fun episode!!!
I've not made cake from a mix in a long time, but I'm sure that the cake mixing and baking part are going to be the same for all of these. The variations will appear in the frosting and decorating parts. I do have a quick tip when assembling layers... In order to keep the cakes from sliding, cut the rounded side off the top of the bottom cake. Use a bread knife, or something with a serrated edge, hold it as flat (level) as possible and cut at the height where the sides stop. This way you have a flat surface for the frosting and second cake to stay put. Also, Carlos, when trying a recipe for the first time, it's best to follow it as close as you can. Once you see how it turns out, then you can play with variations because you will have an idea on how much you'd need to change it up. You've said you have many boxes of these cake mixes, so there's plenty of time for creative fun. And I'm sure we all want to see videos of those cakes too. I know I do! Other than that, I think you guys are doing great! It's hard to try recipes when you can't get the ingredients that they call for.
First, always follow the directions. Do not embellish. Thirdly, place the round side of the cake "down". Do not add whipping cream. I'm sure it tasted great. I can smell the coconut from there. Thanks, guys, for an enjoyable episode.
I just love you guys. It's not the cream or the heat. Layered cakes need to be flat. So you have to slice a thin layer off the top of each cake so they aren't rounded. No more slipping.
I love that 'serving' plate you've got. Arne tasting everything! Moose, moose, Freja! x I love skewer through the centre of both cakes! So much fun always watching you both baking or cooking. Thank you. 💕
That sort of frosting is very hard to work with right out of the container. It needs some loosening up in order to work well. You can either warm it up a very tiny bit (set it in a warm place for 10 minutes, like on top of the stove as it's preheating) or put it in a bowl and stir vigorously till it's loosened up a tad. I generally end up doing a combination of the two, then plop the big spoonfulls onto the cake, and use a flat flexible spatula or similar to push the icing where you want it to go, don't try to spread it like it's butter, it will just grab and tear the cake. Icing has to be sort of massaged and pushed into place. It definitely takes a bit of practice. I enjoyed your adventures into cake baking today, and got a much-needed laugh out of this video, thanks so much! Enjoy!
The best analogy I can think of is buying an A&C knitting pattern and deciding I'm going to crochet it using wire instead of yarn and then deciding to block it in paint instead of steaming it and then wondering why it didn't fit. This would be a very good commercial for Betty Crocker. 😊 Your coconut seems much more finely cut than American coconut. Ours is in shreds at least a centimeter long; yours looks like snow.
Adding your own twist is great when you’re cooking. When baking - not so much! Agree with those who said to cool the layers longer before icing. Put the flat side up on the lower layer. If you want to add whipped cream do it on top of the frosting they give you after you finish icing and adding coconut. Just a dab on top.
Nicely done! You can get flat cake layers if you wrap the pans with wet cake strips before baking. It makes a huge difference. No more mounds on the tops of your cake layers. They available online, but I bet you two could make your own (not sure if you have to use special fabric).
Third time lucky! Can't wait for the next one. I love that you want to put your twist on things Carlos but also that you admit when you are wrong (like the cream). Arne, keep licking the spoon!! You two made me laugh and made my day, never change.xxx
A few tips: A bent frosting spatula is so helpful. If the frosting is too stiff, whip in just a touch (no more than 1 teaspoon at a time) of milk. For the bottom layer, I use a large serrated knife to horizontally cut off the "dome" to give you a flat surface on which to place the second layer. When you frost the first layer, use enough frosting to push some off to cover the sides of the bottom layer. Now, half of the cake is totally frosted. If the second layer won't stay in place, use two or three skewers. Let the frosting set before cutting into it. I am giving you a lot of credit for trying and having fun, and as you say, it still tastes the same, but if you make a perfect cake, we wouldn't have these fun videos!
Here is an incredible tip when icing the cake. The bottom layer should be upside down so the flat bottom is facing up . Next fill a tall drinking glass of very warm water and as you spread the icing dip the spatula or knife spreader just before spreading out the icing. This will keep your spreader moist enough to easily slide icing evenly and smooth. Remember when you are stacking cake layers, be sure to flip bottom layer upside down and later after you put icing on top of bottom layer then put top layer right side up. This makes an even cake shape and sides will be closer to one another. The dipping of spatula (not dripping wet) will be essential to smoother non-stick spreading. I got these tips from years of baking and decorating cakes.
Yup, you are right...flat sides (bottoms) of the cake together. Carlos, next time whip your cream and serve it on the side at serving time, not in with the frosting. Really stir that frosting with a spoon in the container to get a little air into it and it will spread easier.
Arne is right. no cream! Cool cake completely. Arrange the layers so that flat sides meet in the middle. When frosting don’t put it all on top and then hope to spread it on the sides. Save some to apply directly to the sides. Follow directions which are not confusing!
Must wait till cake is absolutely cool before frosting! You guys are funny without trying. Betty Crocker doesn't have to worry that you'll steal her thunder! Stick to fiber arts fellas! Love you both! Thanks for the laugh!
When I'm ready to frost a cake , I put the bottom layer face down. That way you have a perfectly flat surface to spread your icing. Then put the next layer face up.
It looks delicious. I would suggest next time you bake it on the rack not on a sheet pan and it needs to be completely cool before frosting. I usually even out the bump by taking it off and if you start by frosting the sides first and then the top it's easier. Everything worked out great !!
Another great Dolly Parton baking adventure! You guys are so fun to watch. I just finished watching John Kanell on his YT channel Preppy Kitchen bake and decorate cakes. You two back-to-back with him were hilarious. Thank you for doing these!
It’s Perfection! Kinda 🥰 I hope that you continue with these creative twists on the 🍰 cakes; I will be sad if you make one “with mastery” - when you two get the giggles, it makes me so happy 😃
Well here in Washington State USA we use frosting for the cake coconut on top then whipped cream and strawberries So good!! You guys make me happy. thanks so much!!
My 2 cents about the cake would be, put the cake upside down for cooling to flat the surface, or cut it with a bread knife, so they are the same height and flat. Put 1 to 2 coffee spoon of unwhipped cream in the frosting and beat with a mixer (not a blender) to make it more spreadable, it looks very thick and sticky. Frost when teh cakes are really cold, or it will melt. Don't put whipped cream inside the cake, because it makes it slippery. If it's still slippery and difficult to frost, put some toothpicks in the cake before frosting, to make it stable. Good luck!
Cool the cakes completely. I fluff up the frosting by whipping it to make it easier to spread. If there's a hump or roundness to the cakes, I slice just enough off the cake layers so it sits flat on top of each other. I spread butter on pans without melting it. It does stick if you brush on melted butter,at least that's what happens to me. I make a little hole in dry mix to put wet ingredients in and then mix. Cream prob would've worked but the cakes have to be totally cooled or it will melt it and the frosting. No warmth because it turns frosting into glaze texture. My hubby found that out and it hardened on it. I also really like my batter fluffy. You put air in it when you mix it to make if fluffy. Turn your plate as you frost the cake. It does help. Don't spread frosting too thin. The frosting in a container definitely should be at room temp. It should be really soft. I sometimes put the container sitting in a bowl of warm water and mix it really well before spreading it. I'm not a pro but these are things I've tried and have helped me. And you are right practice makes perfect. Once you figure out what works and what doesn't the next try will be better than the last. You guys are awesome. And don't give up on baking, think of it like knitting, if at first you don't succeed, try try try again. And the most important thing is you have fun together and you both make baking fun and I love every misadventure in the kitchen. The journey is important too not just the destination. As long as you guys don't get mad at each other, you both are doing great. And if it tastes great who cares what it looks like. It'll be the best food ever because you did it together and shared it with us and made memories. Thank you. Sorry this was so long. ❤
Another alternative to heating the spatula is to warm up the cake frosting either in the microwave or seal it up and put the container in some hot water to loosen it up. Or you can heat it till the icing is melted and pour it over the cake.
Ahhhh…you must allow the cake to cool completely as you can not add frosting on even a slightly warm cake or it will melt. You can put the cake in the refrigerator or freezer to completely cool before any other step is taken. I use a simple butter knife to spread the frosting as many of us do not bake enough to own what is called an offset spatula, I certainly don’t have one and always just use a plain old butter knife. Its also almost assured that one container of the frosting is never enough to cover a two layer cake, so always buy two cans, yes, you’ll end up with some leftover frosting, but if you want to cover the whole cake, having enough for the sides etc..one can just isn’t going to work out well and you’ll struggle far less with two containers of frosting. 😊💖😉
When I was a kid, my mom would put the first layer upside down so the two flat sides were together. I have no idea how it never cracked down the middle but it always worked. She would put a couple of toothpicks in to hold it together. We always said whoever got the toothpick but a second piece of cake. If you whip the frosting it will spread easier.
Arne, you are getting me addicted to making a scrapbook. Sounds like fun. You two are so funny and help me feel better since I have a cold , cough.and chills. I love cake especially coconut cake. Yummy yummy yummy 😊
We did a cross border trip to N.Y. State last week , we saw the Dolly cake mixes , didn’t buy any ( not in Canada yet ) might have to return to buy and try some . Arne & Carlos …you two are sooooo enjoyable to watch ! What a good laugh , laughing with you both ! Skip the cream !
Place the rounded side of one layer of cake down on the plate (so you have a flat side to spread the filling on; then place the other layer, flat side down on the filling (this helps to keep the layers together, instead of trying to keep a flat side from sliding off the rounded side. Also, read the directions on the container of frosting, I believe it says to heat it in the microwave so it is easier to spread. When baking especially, you should use "measuring" cups, not a coffee or tea cup or scoop. You need to use an electric mixer and follow the directions for how long to beat the batter at each speed. Cooking is very different from baking, baking requires accurate measurements. You may want to add the coconut to the frosting after you have microwaved the frosting, it would be easier to frost. Also, if you place 3 wooden skewers in the cake to stabilize the layers (after the filling is added and before you frost the cake); place each skewer in and then cut it so it is just below the top of the cake. Good luck
You can do the cake single layer, absolutely no sliding then. Or, you could cut the hump off your layers, that would help. Lastly the skewers was a good idea but use three instead of one. The cream whipped adding a small amount of sugar and some of the coconut in the center would give you a very moist cake and more frosting for the outside of the cake. You are wonderful showing what really happens, we ALL have these moments. And the cake is still a treat.
Hi Arne and Carlos. Love watching you two in the kitchen. Makes my day. Yes let the cakes cool completely. Before you put the cake on the plate Put a little frosting on the dish first to hold the cake in place. Also round side of cake down so flat side is facing up to frost. second layer flat side down so flat side on top of flat side then frost. You will get the technique right. Keep practicing. I love your pretty cake plate ❤
Those canned frostings are meant to be whipped prior to icing with them. Makes it so much easier to spread around. Cutting the hump off the bottom layer will help prevent it from sliding too.
so many laughs and cakeastrophies!!! Arne and Carlos, you guys are a great team. I do like Arne's idea of you guys taking a cake decorating class! Film it! It would be awesome 👨🍳👨🍳
Carlos idea of putting his own twist on everything is the best guarantee for laughing whilst Arne is looking forward for the right moment to lick the spoon or the bowl. Best Comedy Boys💯Thank you❣️

The time to take cakes out of pans is 10 minutes
and yes thoroughly cool cakes otherwise the icing might melt .
After you press the coconut, Carlos, then you get to lick your fingers clean! That’s the way it works in my kitchen! 😁😋
Oh boys.. you need to be sure your cake is COMPLETELY cooled before frosting, or frosting melts… ❤

Me too!!! 😂
So love that Carlos says Arne is in charge and then does what he wants anyway. Again, you had me laughing so hard I had to stop knitting.
Also if you whip the frosting before you spread it, it gets more airy and fluffier ❤
OMG only you two can make a boxed cake mix look hard! Too funny! I laughed til I cried!
Oh my, you guys are the best!! Please continue to be creative, it's so much more fun (which you know for sure!!). Yes. The immersion bender is shearing the batter. More loft if using a mixer

The best time in a kitchen I shared in a long time. Laughter is the best medication. What's going to work...team work. You guys are a great team.
You may think you failed, but you brought us all humor for the day! Cooling the cakes are the best way to keep it from sliding.

I love your muddled method so much more 😊
Thank you!
Yes, but the key is you may add a “ small “ amount of cream to lessen the thickness of the icing.
@@Adele.N yes that can work too.
I have never had so much fun watching someone bake a cake! You are more fun in the kitchen than you should be!!!
The first 20 seconds and I am breathless with laughter. I totally understand how Arne can't begin organizing his knitting needles until he's embroidered something. I love it!
This was so much fun! Now I'm wishing there were more than just two flavors of Dolly cake. Thank you so much for the laughs! ❤️
i really love that you encourage everybody to bake such a cake
you lighten up my day ❤❤❤
I love how you two have different ideas on how to do things, and some how it turns out, the Arne and Carlos way. Keeps a smile on my face.
How about a slice of cake on a plate with whip cream on the side? You can both be happy. 😁❤
We are so excited for this rematch with American cake mix.
That is clever
Your laughter is infectious! I wouldn’t give up on the cream, but maybe try mixing some of the frosting in with it. Hey, you have plenty to try and it’s going to taste good either way. And use a warm metal knife to frost… ? Maybe?
Thank you for the 😂. Laughs are needed in the world. Dolly spreading joy through cake icing by Carlos.
Then as you did, sprinkle coconut around the sides (like Arne did) and on the top of the cake.
you could make Dolly Parton cake every week and I would love it. But today I laughed do much I had to use my inhaler!
Just watching this now. I like you two so much, no matter what happens, and lots happen planned or not, you are never mean to each other and you enjoy what you do. Bravo!
❤️
Tonight I’m feeling well from a cold and you guys and the Dolly cake are better than medicine-you are the best
I gotta say - it's so much fun to watch when you mess up than if it was done perfectly - looks yummy - that's all that matters! Love you guys!
I baked mine in a 9x13 pan and then frosted the top once cooled. So much easier and it tasted just as good.
I use a smooth metal knife for spreading buttercream frosting. Dip it in cold water and spread in long smooth motions. 👌
Your coconut seems much more finely cut than American coconut. Ours is in shreds at least a centimeter long; yours looks like snow.
That is funny!
Stir the icing in the container to loosen it up. It will go on smoother and easier. Well done gentlemen.
Nicely done! You can get flat cake layers if you wrap the pans with wet cake strips before baking. It makes a huge difference. No more mounds on the tops of your cake layers. They available online, but I bet you two could make your own (not sure if you have to use special fabric).
So fun! Thank for brightening my morning. I have an incredibly uncreative job that just drains me, so this helps lift my spirits.
OMG, this has to be one of the funnest videos yet.
Thank you for the tip!
Lucy and Ethel bake a cake, I laughed so much I felt like I was choking, mil gracias!
Here is an incredible tip when icing the cake. The bottom layer should be upside down so the flat bottom is facing up
I hope my decorating ideas will help. Now somehow I would love to learn how to knit with five needles and knit switching to new colors.
Love love you two!!!!!!! Who needs the comedy channel when we have you to make us laugh and feel wonderful.
🫶🏻
I laughed till I cried! So much joy watching you two make that cake!
In the US, the pudding referred to is a dry mix that you add milk to. Jello instant pudding is a popular brand here. This episode was very enjoyable!
It’s Perfection! Kinda 🥰 I hope that you continue with these creative twists on the 🍰 cakes; I will be sad if you make one “with mastery” - when you two get the giggles, it makes me so happy 😃
You guys make my day every time i watch one of your videos. Thank you.
Thank you!
I use a simple butter knife to spread the frosting as many of us do not bake enough to own what is called an offset spatula,
I certainly don’t have one and always just use a plain old butter knife.
The last time you made a Dolly Parton cake I hadn’t laugh so much, you two were hilarious!
☺️ a nice variation is to use lemon curd between the layers or raspberry jam
Good luck
Thank you!
Thank you!
We will have to remake these one day!
Those canned frostings are meant to be whipped prior to icing with them. Makes it so much easier to spread around. Cutting the hump off the bottom layer will help prevent it from sliding too.
Aha
Agree with the comment about toasting the coconut, makes it much tastier
You can microwave the tub frosting for just a “few” seconds and it’s easier to spread. Just make sure it’s at room temp.
so many laughs and cakeastrophies!!! Arne and Carlos, you guys are a great team. I do like Arne's idea of you guys taking a cake decorating class! Film it! It would be awesome 👨🍳👨🍳
Also, I think your cake turned out just fine! loved that both of you patted the coconut onto the cake "real good" just like Dolly would :D
Thank you!
Poor Arne wanted perfection. Here's a tip flip the bottom layer so the flat side is up. No whip cream in the middle. You guys had me in stitches!
👍🏻👍🏻😍
