Good video, spot on take of BMW ownership. I definitely look at mine as a hobby car. What I would add to the criteria while shopping for a used BMW: hold out for a low mileage car, do research on the engine options for the year/model. Everyone has some common issue or another. N20-timing chain, N63-oil consumption amongst other things…so you can know what you are getting into and be comfortable with the risk / reward of what that engine has to offer. And if you plan to diy you can determine if you are capable of tackling those common problems. Xdrive is nice but you probably should avoid that. When the oil pan gasket needs replacing both front axles and front diff need to come out, motor mounts off and engine hoisted in some fashion. So less work, less maintenance and few things to break; saves$$. Lastly research the options available for that year. There may be options you were not aware of and find out after you already bought something and then you will be googling how to retrofit X in a BMW.
