      Hi friend, you will need to bleed the cooling system any time you have introduced air into the system. This procedure will work if you have an electric water pump. You should fill/refill the system, perform bleed procedure, then top up if needed. Thanks

    Change oil every 3 months or 3000 miles? No one recommends this except oil change shops that want to sell you oil changes. Reuse the oil filter? That's bonkers. I am old and I have never heard of that................

    • @SingleMaltMotors
      @SingleMaltMotors 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching. To your comments, the oil change interval is in the service manual and pretty common knowledge. This is especially true for high mileage vehicles. You may have missed the part where I point out this girl has roughly 230K miles. As for reuse of the filter, 1) I didn't, and 2) it only had 2K miles on it and that would be completely reasonable. Thanks again for watching.

      The reason I know something about 2011 Xterras is we have owned one for 5 years. Sadly I am in Moab Ut. and the car is in Phoenix Az.so I can not walk out and check the manual. I change the oil and filter myself but I am pretty sure it says 5K to 7K miles depending on use. Is that not what the owners manual says? I guess that reusing the oil filter must be unique to your area because I have never ever heard of taking an old filter off, draining it and putting it back on.........Thanks

    • @SingleMaltMotors
      @SingleMaltMotors 4 місяці тому

      @@joescott7027 This is my second Xterra and I am quite familiar with the vehicle. Service manual says every 3k miles or 3 months. You are welcome to change at any interval you like, however this girl has 230K miles and I am a proponent of preventive maintenance. As far as re-using a filter, if I were to reuse it then I wouldn't remove it at all and simply drain and fill the oil. As I said, the old filter only had 2200 miles on it and was perfectly fine, but I changed it regardless. Thanks for watching.

I would recommend you stick with a 6 cylinder, I prefer the N55 engine, and stay away from the N63 or 4 cylinder if possible. You can reasonably plan to put another $4-5k into the car over the first 2-3 years, as needed. Maybe a little less, but I'll give the high end estimate. You'll want to tackle oil leaks, cooling system, and starter first. Everything else can come in time. Hope that helps. Cheers

    Hi! Great tutorial, thanks! Just to clarify - in case if I have a steering wheel with lane assistant (vibrating) and I'm replacing it with steering wheel that has heating but no lane assistant. From which steering wheel I need to take the module, or I need to buy a new module from a steering wheel that has both options (vibrating + heating)?

      Thank you, friend. To answer your question, if you want both Heating & Lane Assist, you will need to buy a need module that supports both.

      @@SingleMaltMotors Thanks! With appropriate module, coding still will be needed or in that case it will be a plug n play situation?

      @@VValts-gv6yv Coding is still required. You need to add the option 248 to your vehicle FA, and then update the appropriate modules (FRM, ICM, JBBF, KOMBI)

    Are all 4 doorhandles the exact same? One firts on all doors?

      No, they are different. Driver's side front and rear are different, but passenger side front and rear are interchangeable.
