That hook is not for cutting like on a typical large game hunting gut hook, but literally a hook for pulling out a birds guts.
a lot of game fowl can be small species like quail partridge and dove, you cant exactly get your hands in there so you make a small cut and use the hook.
I have never actually been hunting myself but I've seen it done.

That would actually be great, in a camp setting, for lifting and setting things like pots and pans in the fire. The hook would be good to pull tent stakes or hook onto things like pot bails.

Awesome, you found one. Coast Cutlery made it. This style of handle was part of the Coast multitool product line in the early 2000's.

I can see that for when a retriever brings the not quite dead bird to Dad. Snap neck, rip out gut sack and place fowl in game bag or pocket. That said, probably just as easy to just ring their neck like Grandma did. 🥴🤷🏼‍♂️ But, interesting.

I'm shocked! I thought I saw a lot... But this tool surprises me. Yes, he definitely deserves attention. ...It is a pity that we are losing the era of diversity of multi-tools, while reliable and unique in its kind...

Seems to go back a ways, found a dog training forum where they're talking about in in 2007.

You say it looks like the leatherman 300, or super tool , why not hold one of those next to it for comparison, at least first, then maybe put a surge next to it if you want to show its bigger.

Odd and a little creepy. I thought it was a tool for compressing hose clamp rings when you first deployed the main tool.

I think the hook is also meant to pull stones from the hooves of horses and cattle

From a “fowl necking” Multitool? It’s meant for dressing birds. Are you watching the same video as the rest of us? Why would there be a horse maintenance tool on this?
