      Another option would probably be metal bristles you find along the gutters, which fall out of street sweepers. So it would have to be a city/town gutter.

    Thank you for your video. For those who are unaware, Swiss Army Knife Tweezers can be purchased separately for around $4 each. They are very small and can be concealed more easily than trying to hide an entire Swiss Army Knife. Also small handcuff made of metal or plastic can be purchased separately for around $5. Furthermore a small plastic handcuff key would not be detected by a metal detector.

      @korstiaanakse1 That's an unexperienced wild assumption. I've gone trough 10 prisons and you'd be surprised the things officials fail to notice while searching. I've hidden illegal things between my fingers in searches designed to find anything illegal, no matter how small. A strip of metal like tweezers would only be found on de-metallised personal search with a designed metal-detector, very rare occurance in captivity.

    Keep in mind that if you've been handcuffed, it's highly likely that someone is going to take everything you have away from you to prevent your easy escape. You will need to hide something on your person if you believe capture or arrest is likely.

      The plastic keys I was referring to are from Imminent Threat Solutions (ITS Tactical). These are called skeleton keys. It's the ITS skull logo at the top of the key. The eyes of the skull go all the way through, giving an easy pass through for a needle and thread. Also, this key is so small (the smallest handcuff keys I have seen) that you could pat directly on the key and not feel it through a shirt.

    Jailhouse music: I Fought The Law, Ole Red, Smugglers’ Blues, Folsom Prison Blues, 30 Year Night, Chain Gang… You and I had a brief discussion over defeating swivel and hinged handcuffs a while back when you first introduced us to escaping handcuffs. One thing that could be added in the forward thinking process is to have some escape devices hidden away for either front or rear restraint. It wouldn’t do to have your escape tools hidden in the front and your hands end up cuffed behind your back. Also hope that whomever is detains you isn’t meticulous in patting you down. Oh, I wasn’t allowed to play any of that music for some reason in my last job.

A cop is also a civilian. A cop has no more rights than anyone else. In fact, it is the rights of the citizen that are extended to the police. We can arrest, we can carry arms and that's why the police can. We do not "take the law into our own hands" as they say. The law is already in our hands. We are Americans. Not serfs.

Any restraint CAN be defeated. I’ve seen convicts get out of restraints with belly chain and black box. The added layers of security and supervision by someone guarding a prisoner make it progressively more difficult but not impossible. Practice Practice Practice until you can defeat the restraints no matter how they’re applied.

    Nice video, in my country the cuffs have no chains anymore ( s&w hinge type with side push double lock) so no rotation movement, if the keyhole is on the inner side and double lock is on, even with the key is nearly impossible to free yourself.
    The keyhole is kind of tapered to the inside, the Victorinox tweezers are to big for this, the lever to unlock the double lock is on the other side of the notch ( requires 180° turn)
    The shim technique does work but getting the double lock off with tweezers is no option.

    Lock, can’t I just reverse and defeat the cuffs without difficulty of trying to shim cuffs?

    • @jamescrowe7892
      @jamescrowe7892 11 місяців тому +1

      Not necessarily. In trying to defeat the main lock you run the risk of maybe tightening up the ratchet arm thus reducing the movement of the arm in case you need to shim it anyway. Now you have added loss of circulation on top of being handcuffed.

    • @Bigfezzig
      @Bigfezzig 11 місяців тому

      And you’d have to tighten it also to get the shim in. Same boat

    Nice. The Foreign Legion knows a similar trick with a toothpick. For a padlock you have the same option if you want to open it. Cut a piece of Coke can and push it into the gap where the latch holds the bracket. Maybe cut the sheet a little diagonally.

    Sew a pocket in the center of your waist band in the back and keep a key and a shim in, also do the front maybe behind the belt in on the inside of the pants opposite side of the loops. And practice doing it when its not a lot at risk and hoping it works.

    Wow, I started using this technique somewhere in the 80's, suck an obvious handcuff hack surprised it's taken this long to be noticed. I took off one half of the tweezers, bent one end over by 2mm and always to this day have it in the centre rear loop of my jeans.

    In practicing escaping cuffs, I've found that most cuffs 2ndary lock can be defeated with slamming the cuffs against the wall. I've done this with a pair of cheap cuffs but should work with all . Experiment. I'm use to picking the lock with a paper clip bent correctly and escaping handcuffed behind my back. Make a game of it. And also learn how to escape zip ties and flex cuffs. Like to see the Major show options to defeating those. I'd never seen this. I love my Swiss army knives. Great Andrew. Bravo Zulu on this👍
