1993 New Yorker 5th Avenue owner checking in! Best riding and quiet car I EVER owned and I’ve owned MANY.
Those cars were magnificent and quite enjoyable to drive. I owned one many years ago and never after selling it could I find a car that I liked better.
I love those cars man
I owned this same vehicle with the 3.8 v6. Had the same color interior but was cloth. Car drove very smooth and was surprisingly the most reliable car I owned. Had to 234000 miles original powertrain and needed very little maintenance. My only gripe was it wasn't a v8 or rwd.
The Chrysler 3.3 v6 engine was very reliable in this car, however the 4 speed automatic transmission left a lot to be desired. I brought brand new in 1993, white with grey interior and drove it for 12 years ……until it got rear ended leaving the frame bent and unrepairable.
Thanks for showing the headlights, I've always thought that was a neat feature, I'm sure you did as well.
I like how the speakers are mounted high on the door panel, not low.
that is one sweet car, my aunt had one of these back in 2001, and had it until 2004 when she bought a Ford Escort ZX2, but her New Yorker had lots of problems, now she drives the ZX2 now. :-)
Very nice car... and when you said it had the trunk that pulls itself down, BMW, Mercedese and Lexus popped in my head! lol, very luxuriouse and comfortable-looking car. Hope it serves you well!
I drive one of these now by chance. 1993, 150k km's, fully loaded, cloth/velvet interior, beautifully taken care of. You're right about the chrome, I've never seen this much on a car. Drives nice for what it is.
Anyone who hates on this car has to realize Chrysler didn't have money to build cars properly. That's why everything was a K car derivative and had to share parts to have a chance of being built.
Certainly doesn't compare to today's standards, but we've come a LONG way.
Its always nice to see older cars kept in such great condition
oh man, my dad had one of these, it was like driving a huge pillow. Not for me, but comfy
I have the same exact one but a light brown color nice
had one on these new...Fabulous car..saw your other drive..u have no clue
This is before the Concorde replaced it at the same time as one of LH platform Chryslers
nice chrysler. they really pushed th 80s style right into 93 lol
my buick has the trunk power assist lock, very nice feature
was this car a trade in or something?
were the front seats pushed up to give the backroom that nice spaceious look? lol
Clean fifth ave
That is beautiful. Did you detail it?
These were always 6-seaters right?
Best car
@guerrs1 how could it be in better shape? this car is immaculate by all appearances air ride still works which is rare i just paid $1500 for an almost identical car but mine has the digital instrument cluster and infinity cd sound system
What's up with the headlights? Do they flip when you turn them on?
My grandma has one in white with red interior :D
Kaiman7705 nice, does she still have it?
@@davoid96 I have a 91’ in that color combo
ah ok, justt wondering how much their sorta worth.
it would have been nice if the new yorker 93 would live up to its full name, and be a giant car like the one in davidsfarm lol downsizing stinks but i guess their are its advantages
this is a stupid question but the lexus u drive, is lexus toyotas luxury brand?
that interiors fit for a pimp LOL. startup sounds like my old dodge spirit did, which i miss.
you be doing a test drive for this one too?
Do you know if this car comes with a power antenna and sunroof or is that just another car?
the transmission on the 1990-1993 Chrysler New Yorker
Transmission
4-speed A604 automatic
@mi16t very comfy indeed
Why they can't make cars with those seats again?
Yeah what happened
Bruno M bcs the Auto industry became stupid. Focusing solely on dumb technology making people lazier, and stupid safety. Cars just arnt the way they used to be. And this is coming from an 18 year old. Usually people my age loves modern cars. But I hate 90 % of em.
@@bricegraham8256 spoken like a true man
Bruno M I wish they still did. I'd probably start looking at new cars if they did
I've read a few comments on a 1990 New Yorker from people calling them cheaply made garrbage. Plus the fact the GM and Ford counterparts in the class were far superior. What you have to remember is how much trouble Chrysler were still in at this point. It looks like this car is probably a carryover from the K-Car era (wouldn't surprise me as the LeBarron was very similar to this car). Even though the Minvans and the K-cars had got Chrysler out of financial hell they were still not out of the woods yet they had to keep the cash coming in they were in nowhere near as stable a situation as Ford or GM yet and yeas the Transmissions and the 2.2 and other Chrysler engines had their faults they were still reliable enough to see Chrysler through their bad period until things straightened out.
I actually like these cars though fair enough they're not up to the same standards as earlier full-sized Chryslers and Imperials, not by a long shot actually this generation is quite a step down in quality but given the aformentioned circumstances what they acheived wasn't bad I like this car. Alot of the trim parts and switchgear from these cars is similar to our 1995 Jeep Cherokee 2.5 Turbodiesel we had here in Britain, which is not surprising as Chrysler was well=known for using trim and stuff in many model lineups and Jeep was owned by Chrysler then.
@jesse8507 its a goldish color.
how much was it?
how much are you guys going to sale that car for? 5 or 6k?
I got a 8 duece new yorker and man i cant say ive Neverhad a smoother driving car if u can find one id deff say its a good buy

If you still have it (which you probably don't), can you do a shot of the digital thermometer and compass?
Does it have a cigarette lighter ?
Carro lindo
Kinda weird there was no TACH in the car considering the price when these were new. Good video though man.
I own a 1990 fifth ave and i love when saabkyle reviews other cars and is like 'pleantly of space in the trar seats'. And im like bitch please. Ive never seen a regular car newer than mine with more leg room in the back lol. But really these are nice cars. Msrp of 21,000 back in the day. Thats like 38,000 in todays time
trollaphobic by any chance do you know what an ABS light means
This is a little car with a level of comfort that simply don't exist anymore only in maybe a Rolls-Royce or an S500 Mercedes
I'm still trying to figure out why he has racing tires on it
Because they're clean
I wish it talked.
The only thing I don't like about this cars is the FWD
u dontknow how much u bought it at the dealers sales? lol
The rear seats*. ...im really bad at typing lol
Hey Kyle, I made a video of a 1986 New Yorker.. it’s on my channel if you wanna take a look at it
I like the seats back then... Too bad they dont make any "pillow seats" on luxury cars
i love just about everything on all late 80s early 90s chrysler vehicles. but the radios are crap!! we used to have a 90 and a 92 plymouth grand voyager and both of htem went through about 2 or 3 radios each!!
Looks like a Cadillac
Silotienes y lo bendes teloconpro
Sorry, but you never put racing tires on a luxury car...that is sooooo down-south country sh*t..
cause you know you might have to race it
i have a 90 5th avenue more boxish. i feel like putting a supercharger on it, get about 150 more horsepower. that way i can beat the fuck out of mustangs lolz
just bought one for 250 bucks
Heh. Not bad then. This proves America ISNT full of slobs :P
