I just thought I’d mention that because I said in the video it might not be 🤦♂️ I also forgot to mention, there was NO filters used in this video. The colour you see is legit. Blue chalcedony is by far my favorite type of quartz gemstone. I don't care how rare the rest are, even a deep purple blue amethyst with no cracks cannot top the beauty of blue chalcedony
Around 3:00 in and how you say when you see blue it makes you feel good.. I know that exact feeling but it’s when I see a new video posted lol. Your videos are always awesome especially this one
So fitting that your favorite color is blue. In 2020 I was very depressed and feeling blue everyday. But every week for a short while I would be smiling ear-to-ear as I watched you and your friends rockhounding in the creek. You always put a smile on my face brother and I am super grateful for example you set. Thank you Jessie for taking away my blues and reminding me how beautiful life can be. 🙏🏻🎯💯💪😁🌎☮️💓😇✨
Mike my mate honestly, I showed this comment to my partner Carly but before I did I said to her “okay bub, remember when I thought I might try and make some videos to learn more about the rocks? Did you ever imagine I would get a comment as mind blowing as this?!”. I showed her your message and she almost cried man. To be genuinely honest these videos have had the same affect for me. I struggle since a kid with ADD anxiety and depression. Since focusing my spare time on creating, it’s become such a valuable outlet for me and a way to ease my mind and feel good. But I never once thought I’d help others feel happy. So I thank you man. So much. For sharing your comment with me. I got all goosebumpy but massively humbled. Thank you Mike! With as much time as you spend out there I think its pretty rare. I think the appeal of blue stones is just how rare it is to see in nature. This is really perfect timing, I was just having a conversation with someone about things that look blue until you dig them out.
Yeah I just didn’t want to be overly clickbaity by saying it’s rare. But yeah it’s pretty crazy how that colour can change once they’re plucked from the ground.
What a BEAUTIFUL stone. So BLUE...leave the negative of the calcite crystals. It makes it more unique! Dang....a fantastic find and a such a beautiful polish as always! You should ask the club to film inside! :) Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
MildKyle!!! Brother thanks for checkin out the vid dude. I loved that play button vid so much! You crushed it! And man, I’m gonna have to muster up the courage and ask. I just don’t want to annoy people who know more than me haha!
The names "chrysocolla chalcedony" and "gem silica chrysocolla" are used because the green to blue color of gem silica is related to chrysocolla. Some references state that the color is caused by minute inclusions of chrysocolla within the silica. Others attribute the color to "the same copper salts that give chrysocolla its color." The name "chrysocolla chalcedony" is appropriate if the person using the name knows that their material contains chrysocolla. The name "gem silica chrysocolla" is a misnomer because chrysocolla is not the primary constituent. "Gem silica" is the most appropriate name. As a variety of chalcedony, gem silica has a Mohs hardness of 7 and is durable enough for use in almost any jewelry design. Yet, gem silica is rarely seen in jewelry. The gem is rare, costly, and the supply is limited. Congratulations Maverick, you have found a very rare color in nature! Blue flowers, animals and stones are the rarest of colors in nature. I’m tickled pink that you’ve found such a beautiful piece of BLUE, gem quality chalcedony. I’m so very happy for you Jesse!!! 🥰

What a fantastic find! I think I saw lots of animals in the white clouds inside the stone. It would brighten anyone's day. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒☁️
“Ohhhh”.. that’s the kind of stone .. when you see it all polished.. you exhale real hard like while saying…” ohhhhh”… just an amazing beauty! Have a great weekend Jessie..☮️
Yvonne you are so so right! I didn’t believe it was what it was until I brought it out of the water!!! Then I was floored. But the colour when I took it to the wheels blew me away! It just got better!!!! I’m a lucky man Yvonne! A very lucky man! I hope you have a super good week ahead my friend!
I love how palpable your love for rocks is Jesse. I always find myself grinning watching you. I also like that you kept the rough. It preserved the uniqueness of that rock.
That is an extremely awesome and rare find my friend. Blue chalcedony is rare everywhere! It looks blue due to specific impurities/particles in it and the way light refractor off those particles. It's the same phenomenon that makes the sky look blue. The pink hue is also produced in a similar way there is a pink sky at sunset on a clear blue day. Light refraction is an amazing thing! Congrats on that amazingly rad find!
Man Jason yes! I wish I could have explained that so much better haha! But trust me I have a new found respect for sunrises and sunsets and these beautiful stones. It’s crazy hey mate!say g’day to the boys for us!

THAT IS NINYEIRE! Ok ,Ok, it was worth the wait Rook! I was extremely happy to see the blue stone polished and finished. You did a superb job of accenting the color while leaving most of the stone intact. Job well done mate! See what I mean when I say the "stone spoke to you" and told you how and when to cut it and you listened! A STUNNER of a stone! Great job Rook! Jealous from SD! Much love too!
Yes!!!!!!! Jeff I’m so glad you weren’t disappointed mate! I took a bit of a chance bein a tease at the end of last video but I had to do a vid just for this beauty. She’s Ninyeire! Soooo Ninyeire!
That is so spectacular. I'm at a loss for words. You are so lucky. I can only imagine the look on your face when you pulled it out of the water. I can hear the excitement and awe in your voice. Thanks for sharing this piece of heaven with us.
Jesse! Such a good day for you. That chunk 'o blue is stunning! This was such an awesome thing to wake up to on Friday! I'm also glad you highlighted the boytroidal vein of blue from a couple years ago! I was talking at your video like you could hear me when you said "we're highlighting the blues we've already found" and then VOILA! there it was. Love seeing your smiling face as always. Be well! 🥰🥰
Oh D! You knoooooooooooow I had to reshow that beautiful botryoidal vein again! I’m so stoked you thought the same thing haha! Thanks for hanging around for all that time my friend!
I bin edumycated real. You voice is so good you should be on radio. I was just going to try and sleep and found it. Thank you Jesse! Always so enjoyable.
Thanks Jesse. That blue piece is outstanding. So glad you joined lapidary club. I so enjoyed my time at a club in Alice Springs along with a jewellery club. I did it while having 2 young children, teaching full time, studying for post graduate degree externally and being a wife. It sounds exhausting now but omg I’d give my eye teeth to be that fit and active again.
Video just doesn't do these Treasures we find the justice they deserve. I agree! They look so much better when holding yourself in the right sunlight. Amazing! Congrats!!
Hey Kath! Oh yeah, it’s been in my pocket, in the car, on the kitchen bench, anywhere I am haha! And yes TRUE BLUE! I wanted to name the video that but I didn’t think many people would get it 🤪 Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!!!!
Oh my God!! Jesse, that's incredible! So, so happy for you! I know that feeling when you find a piece of your favorite stuff -- nothing else compares ♥️
Wow, a piece of beautiful summer sky in your hand ... Wonderful specimen. I love how the color pops after a good polish 💙💙💙 Excellent👍 I always enjoy cutting and polishing blue Chalcedony
Oh man that’s exactly it hey. Holding a piece of the summer sky! And seriously, I never expected it to get even bluer after a polish!?! That’s crazy right!
Instant click 😂 let the watching begin 😊 Holy crap Jesse!! That is absolutely stunning 😍😍 definitely your best one yet. Well done. I love the rough and polished look.
In the world of chalcedony, blue is the rarest of colors. I've only found one complete blue agate nodule in 20 years of rockhounding. Nice find indeed.

Man this video is like poetry. Such beautiful stones and they polish up amazingly. Love the science behind why we see some of them as blue. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Hans! Thank you mate! I love doing these types of videos, where it’s got everything. Pretty rocks a bit of learning and just good times. Thanks my friend!
Oh mate thank you brother. Honestly, I was exactly the same. It wasn’t until I polished it that I was able to see just how stunning it was. I was almost too afraid to polish it.
Wow, when you revealed Ninyeire it looked like the bluest of bluebird skies. You get to hold the heavens in your hand! What a gift from the land, so beautiful. I also tripped out with the surprise at the beginning; 'how did I get in Jesse's video?!'. What a fun surprise and thanks for having the Podcast in your super sweet video! Cheers!
Heyyyyyyy Karen!!!!!! Oh I’m so glad you liked it! I was editing this and I was like “wait, Karen asked me what my fav stone to find is! I need that in there”! I asked mildkyle just to be sure but kinda wanted to have it as a surprise to you guys. I just love what you all do. And i can say I finally got the voice over to top all voice overists in one of my videos! Haha! I’m gonna collab one day! I swear! Just gotta figure out the best way. 😉
Oh, wow, man! That thing is even more stunning, than I ever expected! I knew it was beautiful and special the moment I first saw it in the video when you found it. But it just crashed my highest expectations. Wow, just wow! 👍👍👍
That piece of blue is EPIC!!! In my area (mid-atlantic U.S.) blue quartz is fairly easy to find but it isn't bright and gemmy like that chalcedony and doesnt take to tumbling/polishing nearly as well so color me envious
Oh my goodness Jesse, that is a SPECTACULAR stone! You have scored, my friend! That is one of those finds that I could just sit and stare at for hours. Rarely have I ever seen blue that deep in a chalcedony. It needs it's own display stand and a little spot light for the center of the display cabinet.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Blue is my favourite as well, I’m just drawn to it! It’s been three years already? WOW time flies. Awesome video! Thanks for posting and sharing this beauty with us 💕
Finally catching up on some videos - holy moly, Jesse, what a find! When you tossed it in the creek to show Benny how it looked, I thought you were throwing it away - I'm like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Good to see you out and hounding, my friend.
Yewwwwww! I’m so glad you liked it Hu my friend! And always, I always have to honour the first peoples of this beautiful land I am lucky enough to experience. I just wish our history told a better story. That’s why wherever I can, I want to set that example. It’s more than deserved. Much love my island friend!
Oh my! That is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen! I love what you named the stone for the word is as beautiful as it is. Coincidentally, I’m wearing the same color! Thanks for sharing your sunshine, Jesse!
Dreamy, magical, mystical! Definitely looks like a rock that deserves to be named! I love the name you gave it, so fitting! Sounds kinda elvish and looks like something a dragon would come after an elvish king for! I love how it looks like you can see clouds in it. Good idea to show other blue chalcedony 💙 you had found.. Nice video, my friend 😁👍
Mouth dropped... Just stunning... The most beautiful blue✨💙✨ I'm so happy for you. It's like finding the pot of treasure at the bottom of the rainbow.... Right on brotha. You did a phenomenal job with the polish too. So glad you joined the lapidary club. I just love this brotha💙
I’m so so glad you love it mar! It’s insane in person. And thank you! I love the lapidary club. Best move I’ve ever made for learning and working stones. I danced with this stone between 200 and 600 so many times to get it right and still was worried haha!
I don't know who wouldn't love rocks either... I love being a rock nerd 😄 Thanks for another fantastic viddy my friend... It just made my day... Cheers J and I'll be getting back to you soon😎 Much love to the family✨
Thank you Marlaina. I completely understand how it can be super hard to keep in touch all the time, but I know true friends are like good books. No matter where you left off, when you do pick it up it’s like you never put it down. Sending so much love to you and the family.
This is your best video so far!! What a beautiful find, and I love the educational part. I think it's really cool that you honored the indigenous people of your area with the name 🤟
Oh man thank you so much Josh brother. That genuinely means so much. And thanks for your support with the name, it means a great deal to me to remember and respect the history and memory of our First Nation people past and present wholeheartedly.
😲 Omg it's amazingly beautiful. I loved that you kept it more to it's original look on the one side. The blue is remarkable in its own natural color as a little darker. Viewing it's color in the sunlight, and seeing the clouds in it. I'm very pleased 😀. I'd love to find some of it. You're finds, WoW! Sharing with other's. Thank you so much. Hahaha! Oh man yes! I am always super cautious of doing clickbait type stuff, but I knew this stone had my back 😉
A true gift hey brother!
I love blue chalcedony, I have 14kt gold blue chalcedony earrings .
Wow what a treasure; it's awesome.
Absolutely Beautiful! I can see why that’s your fav❤️ I could feel your excitement😊great video as always, thank you.
Gob smackingly stunning! 😮😍
Instant click 😂 let the watching begin 😊
Holy crap Jesse!! That is absolutely stunning 😍😍 definitely your best one yet. Well done. I love the rough and polished look.
Aye Anna!!!!! I know right, honestly so lucky, I almost didn’t walk over into the water. So so grateful though!
In the world of chalcedony, blue is the rarest of colors. I've only found one complete blue agate nodule in 20 years of rockhounding. Nice find indeed.
Yeah I’m gonna go out there and say this is probably going to be my biggest one I find ever. I’m okay with that. Hahah thank you mate!
@@Rookie_Rockounding We're one big family of Rock hounds. We are here to celebrate our victories, educate our peers, console in periods of strife, and encouraging new generations. These are the things that make life worth living. The continual quest for self improvement. ---- Bless you brother. You're one of my favorite rock hounds because of the palpable joy you show in every find. Keep exploring.😉👍
Breathtaking! I literally gasped. 💙
This was a great video thank you for sharing. That is a brilliant blue. I enjoyed watching the chisel part of the video also
Thank you mate! I hope I get the chance to do more with the chisel and hammer! 😉
I swear to you, my hands are shaking with emotion holding the phone and looking at what you have found. you are a lucky guy Jesse !!!
Oh mate thank you brother. Honestly, I was exactly the same. It wasn’t until I polished it that I was able to see just how stunning it was. I was almost too afraid to polish it.
beautiful find my friend, beautiful
Totally stunning!! Absolutely beautiful!!
Oh, wow, man! That thing is even more stunning, than I ever expected! I knew it was beautiful and special the moment I first saw it in the video when you found it. But it just crashed my highest expectations. Wow, just wow! 👍👍👍
Ohhhhh I am sooooo glad you weren’t disappointed Steph! 😁
Excellent presentation on an amazing find, you'll have that stone for a long long time. Thanks for sharing!
Oh man Dennis to be honest a guy at the lapidary club said the exact same thing haha! It’s a beauty isn’t it mate!
Epic finds mate!
That big piece of blue is a stomper 🔥🔥🔥🤯🤯🤯😎😎😎... AMAZING
Just stunning. Well done on your beautiful blue xxx
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Blue is my favourite as well, I’m just drawn to it!
It’s been three years already? WOW time flies. Awesome video! Thanks for posting and sharing this beauty with us 💕
I know right! Michelle! It’s been the fastest three years I’ve known!!!
Finally catching up on some videos - holy moly, Jesse, what a find! When you tossed it in the creek to show Benny how it looked, I thought you were throwing it away - I'm like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Good to see you out and hounding, my friend.
Haha!!!! Oh heavens nooooooo Kate! I’m not a madman 🤣😂 thanks for popping over my good good friend! I wish I was able to get out more!
Everything about this is beautiful, from the gem, to the experience, and the way it honors the original people by the name 🤙🏽❤💛💚🤙🏽💙💙
Yewwwwww! I’m so glad you liked it Hu my friend! And always, I always have to honour the first peoples of this beautiful land I am lucky enough to experience. I just wish our history told a better story. That’s why wherever I can, I want to set that example. It’s more than deserved. Much love my island friend!
Oh WOW, that is so special. It deserves a nice stand in the most prominent area of your collection!
Oh my! That is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen! I love what you named the stone for the word is as beautiful as it is. Coincidentally, I’m wearing the same color! Thanks for sharing your sunshine, Jesse!
Yay! Blue is so pretty hey Dana! And yeah, I reckon the name connects it to the people of the land where it was found 😊✨
Congrats that's a very nice piece.
Yes! It totally does hey Fayde! I love that! Haha! Thank you mate!!!!
You did a great job, it looked so tactile.... I can see why it's your favourite 👍💕💕💕💕
Incredible find.......congrats!
How absolutely beautiful!! Congratulations on a stunning find!
A pretty and happy piece of gift from nature. Congrats.
Absolutely gorgeous! I’ve never been lucky enough to find blue or purple yet. Those are bucket list rocks.
That has got to be the most beautiful stone I’ve ever seen!,
Dude!!!!! Congratulations this was absolutely amazing
Mouth dropped... Just stunning... The most beautiful blue✨💙✨
I'm so happy for you.
What a beautiful treasure to find. And the unique name fits perfectly. So happy for you.I enjoy all the videos!
The white in there looks like clouds in the sky... beautiful.
Amazing find, sir! Better than anything I've seen out of Turkey, which is apparently the only reliable source of blue chalcedony.
Oh wow man and that’s saying something! I learnt Turkey is one of the places that has the most of this chalcedony! Cheers Justin!
You love the beauty of the stone, gem from mother's landscape.
Blue would be my favorite too. It is the most beautiful stone!
