Cutting Rocks • You Never Know Whats Inside (Rhyolite, Agates & Chalcedony)

- After a couple of rockhounding trips in the creeks south east Queensland Australia, it’s time to look inside the stones and see what treasures are hidden. Join me while I use the tile saw to cut some of the many rocks, including Rhyolite (rainforest jasper), Moss Agates, Plume agates and more. You never know what you’ll find inside a rock.

Carnelians are red,
Sapphires are blue,
I only wake on Fridays,
To watch what Rookie will do! Haha🤓🐾
Gooday brotha! What a day of cutting eh? You're really getting great at shaping those babies. Well, to be honest, I think you've done an amazing job from the start dude. Watching some of your past cuts have actually inspired me to start shaping stones myself. I aspire to make a tower someday out of...something cool Idk haha! But it's makes me happy watching what you come up with and is why I'm sending you some rough to play with in your package... Which I just officially sent dude!😁 There is also some stones I pre-shaped a little that I thought you'd like and could play with or give away...i just couldn't find the time to finish them myself. My saw blade is done for at the moment and I need new polishing pads...again! Haha Anyway, excited for you to get it. You're going to shoot me (not literally obviously) when you get it. It's heavy...☺
But back to your viddy...
2:50- I would absolutely call that a plume my friend. And boy is it magnificent!
5:10- 100% plume ALL DAY!!! And hells yeah it looks like dragons fire 🔥 I'm nicknaming it Smaug🐉
Now dude... I seriously love ALL of the rhyolite you find... You know that but... the one at 10:47- 💥BAM the colors are poppin! All the colors of nature in one stone 🌈 Wow!💖👌mwah! Stunning
Cannot wait to see them all shining pretty✨ 2 more weeks... I'll be there😎 Cheers m8🐾
MARLAINAAAAAA! Dude! So sorry for late response! I’m here now and just loved that first bit haha!
Ohhhh yes! Your gonna shape your stones, it’s so much fun, I don’t know if they’re considered specimens or fancy paper weights but it’s so much fun, you wait mar. Tip I’ve learnt, the more flat sides the easier to polish hahaha! Buuuuuuuut you’ve got a cabbing machine now so that’s gonna make funky shapes so much easier to polish. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Absolutely can’t wait M!
Aye! Yes! The dragon from the hobbit!!!!! Okay the rock shall be henceforth known as Smaug. I love it cause it was the only book I’ve read of the series because the movies came out before I had a chance to read the others haha!
I’m so so looking forward to the package! And there’s rough pieces in there! Oh and the chance to finish something you started is like a collaboration piece! I cannot wait.
Unfortunately though, I think the polishing video is going to be pushed back cause I need more time haha! So I’m gonna do a small hunt video first. 🤪🤦♂️
I really need to not say what the next video is hahaha! It will be coming though! It will!
Sending much love to you and the family and just hope you’re all doing well. I genuinely massively mean it mar!
Talk soon on the gram, probably tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🐺✨🍻
I loved that beginning! Hahaha brilliant
@Cedric Kendall Rookie is on flixzone? Is that what I'm hearing?
Lots of rock fun, great video my friend, both SeaJay and I love your videos
Hey mate! Thank you guys, I hope you’re both fairing well over there. America has been in my thoughts a lot the last few crazy months. Take care you two and stay safe until next time my friends!!!!!
Excellent video I get so excited to see what's inside the stones very Beautiful!!!!👍🏻😊👍🏻
Thank youuuuuu mate!
Bloody beautiful mate, looks awesome, thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺
Cheers mate!!!!! So lucky to find these beauties 😉👍
You are awesome man. I think you do just fine. I cant ever nit pick your videos they are always great.
Sent Rookies package yesterday! It's on its way to Aussieland ✈ 🇦🇺
Aye Jas!!!! Dude thank you, that means a lot coming from someone who’s been here with me from the beginning dude. And from someone who KNOWS their rocks like you do dude. Thanks mate!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. you rock
Thanks Dawn! 😁✨
Great videos. You are fun to watch...must be fun to have a saw. Thanks!
Hey savage squirrel! Thank youuuuu!
Yeah it’s so much fun having a saw. One of my favourite pass times 😊
It's always fun seeing what's inside, isn't it? I love all the agates/Chalcedony, but the rhyolites you spent some time talking about around 10:30 were really cool. I love fun patterns in the stone like that.
Hey Rob!!! Yeah, man the Rhyolite can be so cool inside hey. I need to do a test on it and see what it’s mohs hardness is but most of the time it does take a polish it just might have patches where it doesn’t take a polish depending on what mineral and things are where. So scientific right haha! But fingers crossed they shine okay 😊
Awesome video beautiful finds fantastic cuts the excitement the rush when cutting to see what they will look like on the inside like Christmas time sweet job my friend
Thank you miles!!!! Yeah it’s just such a fun game of what’s inside 😳🤤😆
Awesome!!!
Thank you mate!!!
GAH! That cut at 5:10 is really something special. It's always satisfying when a cut pays off instead of feeling a little regret that you didn't leave it be.
Ah thanks man, yeah I think it was a good mistake haha! I didn’t see that comin though, I like it better than what I was expecting haha. Thanks dude 👍
Wow some beauties in there. Also that was a native bee( stingless) thanks for an awesome video again. Cheers.
Heyyyyyy! Someone saw the little fella who was struggling. I didn’t see it until editing but thank you for the ID! That’s really cool cause my father in law has a native bee hive and they’re just so cool to watch. I shoulda known that one 😁
Rookie Rockhounding they such cool little buggers. Everyone should encourage to have native bees in the back yard. See you on the next video. Cheers.
💖since I was small, I have looked at rocks and thought, "there's a world in there, I wonder what it looks like..."
YOU get that, thank you, I learned so much!💖
Always a nice break from the world when i come here! God bless
Thank you and the same to you Erin 😊
Thanks for these brilliant vids. Today I purchased a tile cutter. . Time to get some of the rocks I've collected whilst prospecting..
Ohhhhh heck yeah! Happy cutting mate! Have fun my friend!!!
@@Rookie_Rockoundingcheers buddy.
I have a bin full of " tailings". From my prospecting trips.. Rocks that got broken. checked for gold and stacked in a corner of the garden. 3 tris out to pits near by have produces many a fossil and possible thunder egg. Would you mind if I gave you a shout out.. When I make a vid or two on this.
Wooooooowwwww!!!!..5:10!!!!...man you got some cool ass rocks!!!..I'm not even though the video yet and I HAD to comment on this particular stone!..5:10!
Oh man! Haha! That stone is nuts! And that it was actually sitting on top of the other rocks, just chillin, waiting for the sun to hit it just right... man. You can’t beat it dude. So rad! So lucky!
@@Rookie_Rockounding I watched a documentary tonight on the making of the movie Mad Max,..one of my childhood favorite movies, and they showed where alot of the scenes we're shot,.. little river VIC., Australia..the different roads and towns, was pretty rad!!..I love that movie,..I Google mapped that area, and it looks like it would be a great place to hunt the creeks for agates!!
Manistee Rocks!
Oh man vic is a long way away but I hear ya! I reckon there’s some goodness down there. And heck yeah! Mad max was an iconic Aussie movie. 👊👊👊👊👊
Inspiring! Great video. Thank you.

Howie Harkema
Hey Howie! Thanks Mate!
My goodness, that rhyolite is amazing!!!!!! Thanks for another great video!!
I was blown away, they are so pretty to see inside. Thanks Jenny!
Wow! Love the colours in the Rhyolite...they are cool. Gonna have to get myself a saw 😁 Its nature at its best...you just never know what surprises they hide within. Onya!👍
Cheers Kath! Oh you guys soooooo gotta get even just a cheap second hand tile saw. It’s such a next level kind of fun!
I have got a saw sitting in my shopping cart online lol. If its still available next week I'm getting it. Blade doesn't look the biggest..but gotta start somewhere! 😜
Katherine Doughty
KATHHHHHHH! Do it! Do it do it!!!!!!!!
He! He! He!..I've got a saw coming this week..yahoo! I also went rockhounding for about an hr Thursday & have a bucket full of Chalcedony. Buggered me but it was worth it. Finally got some bigger chunks with chunks of yellow stuff & some with that micro drusy we get around here.😊😁
So now I'll be able to trim them & put them in my tumbler Yay! Bout blooming time aye! 😜
You Sir! You make me want to rock hunt everyday when I watch your videos! I’ve learned so much about cutting, polishing and rocks! The rock gods would be pleased with what you do!
Oh thank you Austin! That’s so cool 😊 I hope the rock gods are happy with the cuts too haha!
Always enjoy your videos. Finally made it to phase 2 in Washington state Pierce County. When on a 3-mile adventure with my kids found some nice rocks on the carbon River. So I decided I'd start the Tumblr up and see what we got. Show six to eight weeks from now and I should have some nice specimens. Keep On Rocking
CORRINA! YESSSSS! That is fabulous news, I remember you saying how hard it has been to get out, it’s good for the soul once you so though hey.
I bet the kids loved it too, such a wholesome thing for young curious minds. Happy tumbling and again, such great news!
Nice cuts! Those blues and greens are incredible!
R M
Thanks mate, yeah the rocks are really pretty hey. So much fun.
Hiya Jessie, awesome video mate, I think they turned out beautifully, polished they are going too be awesome.
I hope all is well so, stay safe and healthy, and have a awesome weekend mate Cheers!
Cheers Miller! I hope all is well with you and yours also bud 👊
I am so happy you’re back doing regular videos. You are an inspiration and I know that this is what I want to do when I retire in a couple of years. Thanks
That’s awesome Aurora, I can imagine that when I retire I’m planning on doing even more rock cutting, hunting and even more regular videos. If people are still interested haha! 🤣
Wonderful as always, the COLORS!! WOWOWOWOW
😊😊😊
Another great video, Thanks brother.
Thank you brother 👊
Dang! You exposed some awesome looking stone nteriors they look just BEAUTIFUL! Fun cutting the rock to see what you'll find. Mother Nature put her unique touch to the minerals swirled inside. Yes you need to show us your polishing technique! Thank you for sharing!
She certainly did didn’t she. They’re stunning hey. Thanks Sare!
A person can really learn from watching you.... Awesome
😉
Man that’s a massive compliment. Thank you James, I think the editing helps it sound like I know what I’m doing haha! Cheers mate!
Beautiful gems you've got there😉 ❣️✌️
Yeah I’m a bit spoilt really haha 😊
I really love when rock hounds aren't afraid to cut what they want. I'd love to see inside them all haha. I love seeing the composition of the minerals inside them as well!
Me too ☺
Hey outlander & Juliet, yeah there’s ones I’m cautious of cutting, which I usually will but then there’s ones I am absolutely so unsure of how or which way to cut them haha!
@@Rookie_Rockounding I understand that hesitation. I *want* to see inside them all however some rocks are worth saving until I'm more experienced. Especially since I'm sort of accident prone. I'm pretty sure my neighbours think I'm crazy outside working on rocks. I don't mind. 😊
Beautiful patterns in the specimens you chose. Also, your background music is excellent!!! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing how the agate has a beautiful cloud-scape inside. And I love your Chalcedony...just found in the little rivers...Gorgeous rocks all around.
The great thing is you showed us some very neat rocks and had fun doing it. Thank you
Just wow! All these pieces are gorgeous!
Nice..😑😘😘😘
Your videos are so magical...!!! Always joyfull to know when it's rookie Friday...!!! Peace brother
Ohhhh thank you mate! Much much peace brother!
Love the dragon fire!
Hey Sue!!!! Yeah that one is one of my favs! So lucky 😁
I am going to pick up my tumbler today. May go get a tile saw too. Right now just river washed quartz and quartz from my land. I can’t wait! Well after this video. 🤓
Ohhhh awesome Anita!!! That’s EXCITINGGGGGG!!!!! Happy tumbling and cutting if you get the saw! You’re going to love it. It’s such a great feeling! 😉
Some beautiful stones down under! Nice video mate!
Cheers mate!!!!
those green rhyolite you call rainforest jasper is definitely worth playing around with you inspired me to get at those too
Travis Guide aye trav!
That’s rad man, yeah they’re pretty dude. Sorry if I overstepped in that comment I left when that guy was being a jerk. I just don’t like people pushing my mates around when they’re actually good people. Sorry bro!
Mossy moss moss! Your laugh is infectious🤣
Haha! Yeah I even edited out another “Moss” 😂🤣😂🤣
I love watching ppl do cuts. I don't have the nerve. They're like little Xmas presents. Just beautiful. TFS 💖🦅🦅
Yeah it’s so cool to see inside, I think I’m able to do it more because there’s so many out here where I live. But there’s definitely rocks I wouldn’t trust myself to cut haha! 😆😉
Beautiful country you live in. Each cut of the rocks is like opening a present 🎁.
I know right! Gotta love it 😉👍
I appreciate your love of the rock. Very beautiful pieces.
Ha! Dragon Fire! Love it!
Haha! Man I went full nerd on that one, edited most of it out though hahaha!
@@Rookie_Rockounding Haha! I know how that goes!
Thirst Fast 😂 yeah man, nerd city is where it’s at. Sent ya a quick email today, just to say g’day but will talk soon brotha
@@Rookie_Rockounding Sweet! No worries dude! Last ones from me were pretty heavy, so I understand taking longer! Cheers!
Good job mate love from Florida and i subbed
Aye thanks James! Welcome mate, I hope you enjoy my friend. 😁
Dude! Awesome vid. I seem to be stumbling along and slowly figuring out the same or very similar to what you are of course not as beautiful of specimens as you and I'm slowly picking up the terminology too. I gotta tell ya, its really cool to be, in a way, learning along with you. Im gonna get up off my ass and post a video here in a couple days. I haven't done that in o ver 9 years but I'm fired up about this bro! I gotta show you some of the things I've learned, cut and discovered since I started watching your vids. Your positivity has inspired me more than you know my friend.
Ohhhhhh man!!! That’s sseriously so cool brotha! Like seriously! That makes me feel so happy dude. Just so happy!
Let me know when you post one mate, I’ll definitely jump on and have a look. Thank you again for such a kind message man!
@@Rookie_Rockounding You're very welcome. You have a genuine positivity about you that is motivating to me and I hold the same appreciation and fascination as you do which makes your vids so fun to watch. Thumbs up buddy. I'll let you know as soon as I get something posted, I appreciate your interest in that more than I could possibly express.
You have inspired me so much man. I really appreciate you and your channel.
Oh man thank you dude, that honestly makes me so happy dude. Doin what you love and sharing it, is seriously the coolest thing to do. Thanks Jeff!
You make me smile! Your enthusiasm and joy in the surprise are wonderful. My goodness, that striped rhyolite is amazing! All of it is! Thank you for showing us the results of your hard work cutting rocks and making videos. It's very much appreciated. Take care, Jesse
Hey Gwynn! Thank you 😁
I know right, those Rhyolite are just crazy cool, I’ll have to collect some more I reckon. We’ll see how they polish 😉🤞🤞🤞😆
I'm speechless. They are all just absolutely gorgeous. Can hardly wait to see them polished. Thank you so much for sharing.
Definitely pieces of mother nature’s craftsmanship 😊✨
These are stunning. Gorgeous! Love the cube
Thank you! Thank you! 😊
Omg. I found my twin!! UA-cam popped this video up as a suggestion for me (based on my most common interests). It's the only suggestion I've watched that wasn't garbage! Not just that, I totally loved it and I subscribed. This is awesome, thank you!! I'll be watching from now on! XOXO -Abs
Hey! Awesome! Thank you so much Abby! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!!!
I love to open stones, it is very exciting and always a surprise. I opened some small agates myself with wonderful results. Very much like more of these videos. Thumbs up for that👍
I just learned so damn much! I’m still a decade or so behind you on rock knowledge, so I greatly appreciated the primer!👌🏼
Heyyyyyyyyya Tina! Oh I’m a decade behind myself as well haha! I reckon I could have learnt so much more if I’d read books and researched more, but hunting and then playing with the rocks is just too much fun 😂🤣
Oh! Wow! I have been captured by your love of rocks. I have learned a lot on what to look for.TY
Ah, another Friday and lo and behold... fresh stone goodies from Rookie served up on a platter for us to digest early in the morning! 👍 Thanks for sharing your playtime on the saw my friend, always has been my favorite game in this hobby, that first look inside these beauties to see what magic lies within. 🎁 Exposing the hearts of those little treasures is not just a pastime, its a gift to be cherished and leaves us with memories that will be with you for all your days sir! The "dragons breath" plume piece is an example, those plumes truly do look like a type of fire being sprayed across the stone and a perfect example of discovery within the earth below our feet! 🤷♂️ haha Recently returned from another desert trip and two of the larger chunks turned out wayyyy better inside than the outside, one was completely a guess. Thank you for being who you are my friend and for sharing some of your world with us nerdy rock hungry UA-camrs😁✔ Kudos bromigo and hope you have a super weekend ahead! *drops mic*
Ahhhhh dude I wanted to get that video off to you before responding to your comment and then in doing so I completely forgot to respond. I’m the worst at this man.
Ohhh man the what’s inside game is the best! I can’t even begin to imagine what you found inside the graveyard point ones. I haven’t watched the videos yet but I will. I’m finding Im running out of time to watch as much as I want lately. I’m terrible at time management but I hope you know just how much I value you mate. I have from the get go brother. Be talking soon Shaughn my good sir!
@@Rookie_Rockounding no worries my friend, I understand the constraints on available time, with so many folks who've noticed what a cool dude you are it's tough to be your humble self and still be accessible to the community all the time and hope you know I'm just grateful you still have time to share your adventures with us all! Take it easy with a smile and will catch up with you more real soon~ Have an awesome weekend ahead! PS..Cherries are ready here so my weekend adventure is all about those little magical fruit wonders!!!

Oh man cherry hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck yes! 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Love the rhyolite, such amazing colours and patterns. That mossy is just wow
Thank you my cous
EDIT: Cuz. Cous just looks weird. Haha! Kia Ora brotha! Churrrrrrrrr!
Yay, it’s Frookie time! I love seeing your enthusiasm in the work you are doing. It always puts a smile 😊 on my face. So many beautiful colors, patterns and swirls. They all look fabulous. I could watch you for hours, better than Netflix and that is really saying something 👍👏
FROOOKIE TIME!!!!!! I still always think of you when I see that, it’s brilliant. And that’s a massive compliment honestly, thank you so much, I’m just glad people can enjoy it like I do 😊😊😊
I love rock cutting day!! It doesn’t matter if I’m cutting or somebody else is! Those are crazy beautiful!! Way too hard to pick my favourite, but I’m always a sucker for the blues. That last stone was absolutely incredible!
A rock cutting day is always a good day! But yeah, I’m a blue fan as well, it’s hard put them down. I just wish there was more in there haha. There’s always next time 😉👍
I'm a brand new subscriber -- I'm glad you were recommended to me. I've loved rocks since I was a child (some 60 years ago, now) but I've never been a rockhounder, per se. Since I retired a few years back, I've gotten into jewelry making and the natural stones are my absolute favorites. I love to see what patterns you are finding when you cut into a stone. Lots of those slabs that you cut, jewelry makers would pay good money for. The one you cut at about 5:10 did indeed look like dragon fire! Awesome! Others that you've halved would be beautiful just mounted on wood blocks or in small window box frames , as art objects. Thanks for sharing and for breaking up the boredom for a housebound senior.
Hi Kim! So sorry for the late reply! I’ve been a bit behind lately. Thank you for your lovely comment!!!
I would love to one day be able to share these pieces around. I just know I would have to do a lot of mailing and stuff and would probably get too far behind to make videos haha! Maybe an online market or something once a year. That could be cool.
@@Rookie_Rockounding I know what you mean about finding a market and dealing with the shipping and all of that. My two best jewelry customers and cheerleaders passed away in the last two years (and thus their contacts as well), and now my own health issues make doing craft shows no longer an option. I'm thinking perhaps an etsy page or an online store, and I've got two willing daughters who can help. I've got a crazy amount of inventory to do something with. I hope you can find an outlet for your stash, too. Because, seriously, jewelry makers are craving natural stones. Take care, stay well! Thanks for responding.
I really enjoy your videos, your excitement for nature and your respect for it. I'm always inspired. Thank you from the UK
Thank you Kellie! That’s seriously so cool to read such a lovely comment. 😊
You are an inspiration! I am so happy I get to know more about rocks and philosophy from you! If you ever come to West Michigan we should go hunting!
Oh thank you John mate, I’m glad you enjoy the rocks with me. And man I would love to visit one day! Check out Michigan rocks if you haven’t. He’s a rock wizard!
Those were so amazing. I just can't get over just how beautiful they are. Thank you for sharing this with us.
cutting rocks is always a great day! Thanks for sharing!
Earth is awesome. I’m so happy to hear your enjoyment. I appreciate the types of treasures too. Life is about the little things. ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing your learning journey.
PRETTY😍
Great hobby! Beautiful cuts!
There just something about the saw starting up and the water shooting outwards, awesome. I'm glad you went for it. I look forward to your polishing video. These are so beautiful. I like how you take the time to think about the rock before cutting it!
I just discovered you and subscribed! When I was a girl my great-uncle used to bring home rocks and cut them in half just like this. They were beautiful and I became fascinated with rocks and minerals at that early age which continued throughout my life. Thank you for sharing this and I look forward to watching your other videos.
Hello Nancy 😊
What a cool memory though. My nana was a rockhound but I think it was before I was old enough to remember it. But I love thinking she is looking down and liking what I do. Hopefully haha!
I hope you enjoy the videos 😊
Love the cuts! Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Lawanda!
I love rocks too. It's clear you enjoy this, you look and sound happy.
JESSE!! Holy heck. These are GORGEOUS.
Side note: it's been a brutal week/week and a half for the US. The city where I live has a corrupt police force that I as a pale-ass redhead prefer to avoid. They've killed far too many an unarmed person of color with no provocation nor justification - the most recent happened during looting on Monday night :( The videos that come out of unwarranted aggression and injury perpetuated by cops EVERY day are infuriating, but prompt me to be better and to have the difficult conversations that are absolutely necessary.
deegingerkid
Man, I can’t believe what I have seen over here in Australia. The brutality has broken my heart. The depth and layers of years and decades of injustice breaks my heart. I feel for America. I feel for the country I was born in (yes I was born in the USA), who by what I have seen, lacks a leader who leads with their heart, instead of their wallet and the wallets of those who got him there. I don’t want to get political, but it’s embarrassing as an American 𝖠𝗎𝗌𝗍𝗋𝖺𝗅𝗂𝖺𝗇.
@@Rookie_Rockounding - You're spot on, friend. It's truly sad to see the definition of "profits over people". I know folks say that they don't wanna be political, but it's pretty much impossible to do when talking about the state of the US. Thank you for your compassion. The callous lack of it from folks here is, at times, shocking.
Awesome! Jst flicking through and saw you. Watched and I think you've got a gr8 way of showing people what you love. New subsciber here!

Heyyyy! Thanks mate! That’s a really nice thing to say, thank you hey. And awesome!!!! Welcome my friend. I hope you enjoy the videos mate.
What a lovely man you are. I am going to go exploring thanks to you!

It’s so much fun honestly 😁
Great stones! Love the video and the time it takes to create it is appreciated!!🤩✌🤎🧘♀️
Hey thank you Crystal 😁
I absolutely love your enthusiasm and appreciation for these beautiful rocks! I also LOVE admiring these beauties. I wish I lived somewhere near water. I'm dying to go rockhounding. Unfortunately I'm landlocked for hundreds of miles!
OMG I don't know what any of it is, but they are beautiful ... I don't think I could cut them and then I see you cut, and it's even MORE beautiful-I am just mesmerized! Loved Gucci in the last video i watched too. Thanks for sharing all this, take care!
Niiiiiiiiiiice, saaweeeeeeeeeeeeeet pieces. Lookin' forward to the polishing. 👏🍻
Dude thanks for the reminder of my childhood meandering I lived in a place like yours and agitates abound ! The colors and shapes are incredible! Keep up the good work brother! ! !
Good morning, Rockhound! Fun to sit and sip my morning coffee while you cut rocks! Like you, I had high hopes for that blue agate, but it still did turn out pretty. I like those ryolite ones--the muted colors and patterns are fascinating to me. I bet when they're polished, dried and a coat of sealant applied, will bring out those colors even more. Hugs from southern America!
Heyyy! Thank youuu, yeah I was super hopeful for that blue haha, but yeah definitely can’t wait for the polish on the Rhyolite. Fingers crossed it comes out good 😊 take care from Aussie land my friend.
All of those pieces are great, but the rhyolite is just extraordinary. Great cutting mate, they should polish up to great display pieces.
Some feed back on my drive, Went for a short stint up the Albert, & Widgee Ck, a lot of time driving and very short search at the crossings. Zilch.
I need to go back and spend more time searching & less time driving. Some lovely spots up there for a family day or short weekend trip.
Keep Safe & Keep Rockin.
Thanks mate, yeah the Rhyolite is really cool in this area hey.
Ah yep, it’s a fare drive out there and I’ve found the river and creeks out there can change so much from having chalcedony and then not having any!? So strange, I can’t figure out why hey. It’s definitely a beautiful area though, it just would be nice to find something... I know that feeling hey. So sorry it didn’t work out for you! 🤦♂️😫
You know what they say, €hit happens. 😅
Your vision for display is absolutely beautiful, I have yet to cut any of my collection, I hope I can do them justice and honor their beauty with the art of rookie rockhounding.
You are an artist.
We started cutting rocks for our videos recently. It is always a great time to see what is hidden inside of the rocks. Thank you for the video.
Enjoyed watching. Thanks much!
Gorgeous sunset stunning
Ah, loved this so much RR! And I am happy the Rock Gods encouraged you to continue cutting that one piece :) It turned out beautiful, and it was so cool to see how you angled the edges of it at the end. I ordered my orbital sander, polishing pads and a good ventilator just yesterday and I have a tile saw picked out to get in a week or so. I should have it all in a couple weeks, and I can't wait to start sharing my journey with you and others :) You are such an inspirational teacher and I am grateful for learning so much from your work. Thank you and God bless! Hope you and your family are well. Take care, LeeAnn :)
Heyyyyyy LeeAnn!!!!!! Haha yeah I talked with the rock gods for a while and finally convinced them it was for educational purposes haha! They were cool with it 😉😂
Thank you honestly for your kind words too LeeAnn, 🙏
I cannot wait to see how you enjoy the cuts and polishing times! It’s like visiting a new level of rock addiction. Haha!
I hope you have a brilliant week ahead my friend, much love to you and yours 😊
A ROCK STAR ROCKHOUNDER!
I just cut my first piece of agate and chalcedony today and it's all thanks to you! It was so much fun! I wouldn't have gone farther if I hadn't been following you along on your journey. Can't wait to practice and get better so I can work on my favorite finds!
Oh no way! That’s so awesome!!!!!! Sorry, super late at replying lately! Happy cutting!!!!!
You just made my whole day!!!!! You are fantastic, mister;)
Ohhhhhhh thank you so much Rad Rachie!
I love rocks! I've been collecting them since I was a Child. My Grandchildren loved to bring Me beautiful Shapes & Colors or Any Rock they think I might like. My favorite ones are the Pinkish, Black, Greens & Browns. I have a few that I'd like to make into earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. I never could find any info on how to cut ordinary rocks until I started watching UA-cam videos. I love your beautiful rocks. You could make a sharp Pendant for a chain out of that square piece. Someone would love it! Just be sure to put on silver, gold or stainless steel (looks so good when polished). Thanks for the interesting videos.
I like to watch your videos, they are my favorite 👍. Thank you for them. Greetings from Slovakia 🙂
Ďakujem! From Australia 😊
