Picking up IFR in the air en route to Austin, Texas

Flew from Crete Municipal airpot (KCEK) in Crete, Nebraska to Austin Executive airport (KEDC) in Austin, Texas. Departed from Crete under VFR because the weather appeared to be good all the way to Austin. Part way through, the forecast for Austin had low enough ceilings to make me switch over to an IFR flight plan. Had to pay special attention to the weather because Hurricane Francine had left some remnants behind over Texas that needed to be avoided.
