I always find it sad that the app will stack someone’s decent tipped order with someone’s no tip order just to be able to get it done. The no-tippers never learn that way lol
I did notice you'll see the one had a $5.50 tip, the other $0
I had 5.50 peak pay Friday night, and most orders were $20+. I made over $200 in no time.
Also whenever they have this kind of peak pay, I’m not sure why but I get a lot of NO tip or 1 or 2$ tip and they want me to go 9-15 miles! It’s crazy!!!!
I noticed not to sit in one spot. At minimum drive around the parking lot. And then you'll get an offer
I was sitting in a spot for maybe 10 minutes without any offers, as soon as I start driving to another spot, I get an offer lol
100%, that's what I've always called 'jogging' the app, or waking it up per se. Completely a hunch but I've talked about that many times before, if that happens tonight I'll definitely move areas.
Yea, its some asinine incentive to make sure we're looking at our phones while we drive because they've got stock in emergency supply businesses, auto shops and the like. Blood banks, bandages, bumpers, radiators and the like. I always felt the same way. "Oh, you're driving?? Here's some $10-25 flash menu to grab your eyeballs off the road!!"
Did the same peak pay yesterday in Metro Detroit. Did $55.50 in one hour, second hour was $44.50
Most our peak pay downriver is 1 dollar. Where you at ? Seriously
They must be missing there goal for new drivers cause there ain't no way they gonna be offering 5.50 peak pay unless they're desperate
February is the busiest month every year, according to their own data. Everyone got their tax returns and is balling on a budget. It won’t last long.
@@BukowskiQuotesYep, I give it to mid-March at best.
But it's dead slow, at least for me. I think during their latest earnings call DD even said dasher supply is the healthiest it's ever been. I feel like this may just be an incentive before Dasher Rewards drops next week? We'll see what happens
I got 3 5.50 order's but the last 20 minutes nothing
@YourDriverMike I'm new to doordash and would love to speak with you. Thanks
Sitting here in my car while I take a shot each time you say peak pay.
I was pop'n gummies under the same rule set
love the ride along videos
Near Allentown Pa, our peak pay is usually $2 and starts at 11:30 pm and/or 1:30 am...lol..absolutely stupid
I got kind of lucky. Got 4 orders in 1 hour. Each order was over $15.00 and less than 4.5 mile drive.
I always feel like the algorithm gets thrown off if you’re sitting still in a lot…I have tried multiple times to sit in a hotspot and it seems like 90% of the time I only get a gig when I start to drive away.
Yep. I sat outta zone once for 37 minutes. The second I pulled outta a lot from delivery orders hit me. I've heard the algorithm looks for driver movement.
I agree. Sitting is your enemy
Never had an issue getting orders while parked. I think this is a myth.
@@BukowskiQuotesI agree. However, every day I drive from my home to a certain mall parking lot, right in the middle of a bunch of restaurants. On the way, I am hit with offer after offer (usually crap ones, but still). Once I get to the parking lot (if I didn't accept an offer), then the offers stop, but usually only for a few minutes - - then things get going.
Yesterday was the slowest Friday I've ever experienced on the app, thanks for that insane promo DD! (I did end up hitting 2 at least).
If I ever go for more than 20 min w no orders I delete the app and reinstall it and it starts pushing out orders like it should. Especially if there are a lot of dashers or at big peak pay? It’s like the system glitches out but I have priority and that makes a big difference as well. When I don’t have priority I get much worse orders especially at big peak pay times. I’m in Washington state btw.
Mike...have you done a video on doordash dispatch order's...because we get order's that send us pass a store that in a area to the same store out of area just to come back pass that store and drop off to a person home
I appreciate your videos, started Dashing this past Wednesday. Peak pay has not paid for me, zero orders. Hourly been pretty solid. Only drove tonight without hourly.
I am switching to Uber Eats for a while. Doordash acts like they give incentives, but what they really do is punish you for not being willing to work for less than nothing.
We had a $6.50 peak pay the other night… 😳 It was late night though and not very good earnings. This morning we had a $6 peak pay. I made almost $60 in just under 2 hours. 🎉
MIKE, do you do alcohol deliveries? I do them on both UE and DD and I do them so much, I could almost consider myself an alcohol delivery driver if I were to label myself with an occupation. Food deliveries no longer hit the same, but I’m killing it with alcohol deliveries (and caterings).
Agreed. Saturation. It’s part of the who thing tho. Gotta be where others aren’t. That’s all I can come up with.
For the first time in forever we had $2.00 peak pay last night. A little more waiting for orders than usually but they were mostly stacked for higher pay. $137 in just over 3 hrs total Dash time. Overall a successful Dash.
I made $83.25 in 3 active hours last night. 4 hours dash time total. Not bad for my area. I did 6 orders on the $3 peak pay. Of course, it was raining pretty hard, and people don't normally get out in that weather here where I am. Lol. 😁
I find i have to cruze around the hot area to get orders.
I did $5 peak pay in my area last week when we had a rain/ice storm, the roads were pretty crappy. I did five orders short distances for a total of $56.25. 1 hr 17mins active time.
And another $21.50 29 mins active.
Not saturation... it's just that slow. 5.50 to entice you to stay on just in case they happen to get an order
I feel like it's gotta be both, with that crazy peak pay if they showed supply numbers I can almost guarantee it's spiked versus $1 or no peak pay days
I’m about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and usually when there is Peak Pay I get no orders. I call it amateur hour just like New Year’s Eve, everyone is out and take all orders.
I tend to skip DD when there is peak pay. The new DD program is coming to Knoxville, TN. I got the email the other day. I believe it starts 3/7.
Around 5:00, that $7.50 order said it includes tips. How can they say that if there is no tip? I’m new 🥴. Thanks for your videos! 😊
It means its the total up front payout, tip or not.
My hot spot area is 7 min from my house.(I’m in Maryland). It says very busy with +1,2,3. I get to my hot spot, and turns gray. More times than not. Any logical reason?
You should do an outside camera of your car so we can see what it’s like driving around in your area :) looks way different then mine in south dakota
I’ve seen random peak pay popping up and multiple ones at the same time! Also tips better thanks to tax time! Oh yeah Mike, did you notice under the earnings tab now we get monthly earnings statements?
Busy Mesa/Gilbert AZ I dash 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week. We haven’t seen peak pay for about a month at least. And the dasher pay has gone down to $2.00 on most orders. $4.50 if it’s a long distance. My pay has decreased by 20-25%!
We had $5 peak pay tonight in my zone. I waited almost 30 minutes for an order in a hot zome and didn't get an offer. So I decided to head home. As soon as I pulled up to my garage I got an $11 McDonalds order for 3 miles. That was a good order, but the pay per hour was horrible.
It’s so weird to me to think about how different each market is. I had orders all night tonight made about 230 dollars in reno. I always thought cities would pay way better
Ive been going hard the last month and half 12hrs a day. Ive come to find when theres no peak pay i make more money and get most orders. I also noticed they will give you a order 2 seconds after the peak pay ends but youve sat the last 15 with nothing. Ive also noticed they dont always apply peak pay to the offer amount and is added at the end
Last night $5 peak pay and $5.50 the next city over. $82 in 3.5 hours with doordash. Being certified for alcohol delivery gives me extra orders. Got 7 more deliveries for 4000🎉(doordash)
When you talk about what you’re making hourly are you talking about active or dash time?
My area had $4 peak pay during the same time for one hour. Then $2 peak pay until 9:30.
I got two offers during the $4 pay and made $125 in 4 hours.
It was a great night.
I'm top Dasher as well.
Same here last night $5 in the zone next to mine and my zone was swamped, dark red very busy for hours. I stayed in my zone with just a $1 dynamic peak pay😢 but I know better than to chase high peak pay. Made $127 in 3 hours and 45 minutes.
I"m in Atlanta, it's pretty slow in the sections I dash in.
That happened to me yesterday! I was waiting forever at least an hour
Mike I would love to speak with you I'm from Louisiana if possible can you reach out
It was 7.50 the other day. Out of sight.
Literally whiteout blizzard
Yea we were at $4.50 last night in NW Florida and it was over saturated so I barely made anything. Today it was $3.50 extra and it was the same situation so I did Spark instead
To me, this proves you are bottom priority for good orders at your AR of what under 40? Me and a buddy tested it. He had 16% andI was 53% and I got 2 good orders to his zero.
Customer rating plays a part too
But how much trash do you have to deliver to get to that 50-plus AR and do the benefits outweigh the negatives? That’s what really matters. I used to have priority and it wasn’t worth it at all. I make WAY more multi-apping with just DD and UberEats and cherrypicking and unlike when I was priority and only using DD, I pretty much never have to sit and wait for good orders anymore. Granted, I live in a good market.
@@BukowskiQuoteseventually u won't be able to cherry pick so get it while u can
@@ericberry6557eh, cross that bridge if I get to it. Either way, I’m still not going to drive my car into the ground and expend a lot of gas for bad orders. There are plenty of other ways to make money if it comes down to that.
I do Uber eats and DD at the same time as well. I ave $25 an hour
I was on $5 last night (friday)...I'm a top dasher ...The area I dashed in is known for NON TIPPERS with that being said the pay was decent but the first 2 orders I got was no tips but the $5 peak pay made up the difference....I stay busy in my Akron ohio area because I have A1 ratings and yes my market is saturated so in order to "dash now" I make top dasher every month...
I feel like when they offer any peak pay they skimp on base pay. Here everything becomes $2 base pay regardless of miles, but with peak and tip it looks good enough to take. Maybe it's just my market here in TX.
They had 8.50 peak pay here in Maine about an hr away from me on Thursday
Sitting around in the same spot doesnt help, gotta drive around the HSP
I had $5.50 yesterday for two hours and mostly I got more attractive trash. In other words no tip/little tip orders going way out of zone. Makes me think they are using it to get rid of the trash they accumulated all day still waiting for drivers to take. That said, I still did OK, but it wasn’t any better than if I would’ve had no pay at all. It was honestly just more frustration from getting all of these orders coming in that were just trash and having to wait for decent offers.
I saw that $5 peak pay for the first time last night. But by the time I got to that zone I only had 15 minutes to capitalize on it. The orders they sent weren't bad, but they were miles away from the zone. I mean there was a stacked order for like 13 miles at $29.50, but I didn't feel comfortable with it.
I ended up not being able to get a good $5 peak pay order. But the next order I got on the $3 peak pay was literally 3 or 4 miles at $28.50 for a stacked order. It basically took me in a circle back to my parking spot. And took all of 30 minutes. Not bad. But then again it was raining really bad here and the one customer tipped $15. 💃😁
My highest Door Dash tip so far! 😁
In Dallas was just $2 peak max yesterday
I just got the same in Virginia yesterday. I couldn't believe it was $5.50 for 1 hour and then it dropped $1 every hour after that. Overall I made around double as I usually get in a 6 hour shift.
Hardest to do at the start of a DD shift is getting the first offer. If you dont get it at the first 10 minutes, it gets harder to wait in the first 30 minutes.
Questions have anybody been deactivate from doordash for 2 months and haven't heard anything back from your appeal?
You should back out the app and restart when that happens. My app said it was not busy; I restarted and jobs start coming in.
Last night in Charlotte NC it was +6.50 peak pay or 20 per hour. I made 180 in 6 hours. It was cold and raining. Dont know if that matters.
It definitely matters. The less people want to go out to get their own food and the fewer drivers who want to brave the weather the more orders there will be.
I wish they showed other dashers like waze
I would like to see you go for top dasher.
In my area we have had two times already peak pay of $8 per delivery.. I have never seen this much before.
this was a flex on us in response to the strike
More likely it’s just that February is their busiest month due to tax returns. I high doubt they cared at all about the strike, especially since most food delivery drivers didn’t strike.
@@BukowskiQuotes sorry i was mostly trying to be funny, should have put /s
@@GigGrizzlymy bad. Sometimes I take things too literally.
It is because students are moving out of the city for spring break.
Yesterday (Friday ) $5 peak pay . Order #1 $12.50 for 7 miles, but it took me 18 minutes away. Drove back to the power strip
Order #2 $11.00 for 1 mile then boom $5 peak pay is over 😂😂😂😂😂😂
DoorDash loves giving you orders when the peak pay is over
I don’t even go out Fri and Sat night. They’re alllll out. I make more on Monday morning lol
Like I said high peak pay brings out all the dash now people. It seems like there is no limit to how many dash now people can be out here. Right now I think it should be scheduled only simply because of the amount of dashers now
My guess would be that you have a low acceptance rate and not getting priority access. Priority access has helped me get better orders in my area. Dasher saturation is a negative result of higher peak pay. Always a balancing act.
I think they got a lot of drivers off the app. I was making about $35per hr all last night in my area
I’m done with DD now. AR is 4% lol. Just makes no sense for me anymore. They send me crap so I decline, that lowers my AR, so then the orders get worse. Rinse and repeat. The last straw for me was my last offer of $4 for 16 miles. I’ve never been so happy to return to my W-2.
I'll get maybe one decent to good offer which raises my AR 1%. After that, I'll get 10, 11, 12 crap offers . One step forward, ten steps back.
Should have thought to that before declining all the prior orders 🙂
AR hardly matters, in my experience. Before I stopped DD months ago, my AR was standing at 96% for about 5 months and before that, I had a bout where I was standing at 13% AR for about 2 months.
I hardly felt the difference in revenue. That’s just me in my area though.
The way they’ll call a $5 fast food order high paying just because it’s only 3 miles is nuts. It’s definitely not worth it, especially if you can multi-app.
Yesterday my customer tips were bad.
I always have said I don't care who's paying me, DD or the customer as long as the dollars to miles makes sense. But it still burns my butt when I know a customer isn't tipping. If I take that higher paying order (due to peak pay) with no tip, then I'm pretty much telling the customer it's A-OK not to tip. But if I don't, then I don't make any money. It's always a dilemma.
I believe they have a limit they set for each dasher with a max and once you hit the max they just cut off sending orders
I’ve seen no evidence of that.
That 20% AR doesn't help. I don't believe the earth is flat, but I do believe AR matters.
🤫 dont tell them, let all the good orders keep coming to us 😎
@@BigDavosI’m more than happy to let you guys take all the trash orders required to get that high AR while I cherry-pick and multi-app and make far more than I was when I was priority status. But then, I’m lucky enough to live in a good market. I can even dash literally whenever, any day of the week at any time, without priority access.
The AR matters in 2024 now my brother.
That's wht DD Peak Pay is doing to those Low AR's in 2024 . Makes sense when it is Oversaturated w Dashers! Get tht 20% AR up.
To be fair at 5.50 peek pay a lot of the orders might be a "high paying order" which would be prioritized to top dashers or the dashers with higher AR.
As it should be
i signed up for all gig apps and all wait list
wth man
We did peak pay a 3 dollars over last nite and we did like 95 bucks in 3 hours not bad
In Vegas on Iam at 88 percent
acceptance
My market is so saturated right now, I can't schedule even 7 days out. No slots. So I wait for dash now with a 58% a/r and try, butt I always multi- app... last saturated lunch was a joke. 6 hrs made 53.00...joke
I just made platinum and I’ve been getting less orders & low balled less than when I was gold
The last time I saw $5 peak pay and I went out. Made $10 in an hour..one offer..that's it. I'm in Canada where minimum wage is almost $16hr. so went home.
I'm in Charlotte and this was my situation last night too during peak pay. Long wait periods for an order while seating in a "Hotzone" . I'm convinced this app sucks and pay isn't worth the hassle.
We are in the same market and I’ve been doing well lately, and my AR is like 30 percent. Granted, I also multi-app with UE and that has been a game changer.
@@BukowskiQuotes That's good to hear but with just using DD app alone isn't going to cut it. My AR is now 35% at the moment.
Have you tried signing up for UberEats?
@@BukowskiQuotes not yet... Sounds like that's where the better money is at.
Yeah, I don't appreciate the Grey out 😂 real talk
I dont chase peak pays and doing a lot of earn by time the peak pay is prorated which I don't think is fair but I'll take anything extra money
I wonder if it was because your acceptance rate is low. I had the same offer in Iowa and I’m over 50% and I got plenty of offers. I know I’m my area that DoorDash PUNISHES dashers who are under 50%.
$5 peak pay pay night have 56% ar didn't get a order
I had $5 peak pay and a $3 bonus pay. I got no offers.
I have never seen a $3.50 peak pay. I have close to 3000 orders.
Had 4 dollar peak pay in Tulsa made 60 in the hour block
I imagine this is where top dashers slay
Peak Pay doesn't help me much. It brings out too many dashers. Occasionally it helps, but rarely, even though I'm a Top Dasher with Top Priority, Alcohol, Priority shopping, Pizza bag and in a Diamond zone.
Last night they asked me to deliver pizza for 3 dollars 😢
I jumped on $4.50 peak pay and got orders for $6.50. No tip orders!
The whole reason to keep a high AR if for when peak pay is good. I stay above 70% because I only dash on Peak pay and when we have peak pay I make tons vs my son who has a low AR and cant get orders unless its just super busy. Last night it rained a ton over dinner and peak pay hit $8 at one point and I average $47 an hour for 4 hours, he did well but didnt see near the orders I did in the same zone. If you have a high AR when they roll out that Peak pay and tons of dashers hit the zone you will still get order where as those who have terrible AR will not
🤫😎
I made 37.25 a hour over the same time period lastnight
its your AR, needs to be at lest 50% , why would they give it to you at 20?? Think about it
they need to figure a lot of things out
Acceptance rate looks like it matters big time😅
As it should be
bro pedro had higher peak pay than u at one time which was 7 bucks per delivery in his market
Screw Doordash! I went from 90% to 39% because of their low offers.
They are probably pocketing the tips😂😂😂😂
