Doordash offended me with 3 orders in a row that would have caused me a loss. Nope.
1st LEARN how Doordash business portfolio is made of COMPARED to other GIG APPS.
While other apps press both sides (drivers & customers or merchants) to win market share, Doordash WILL NEVER TOUCH the customer in terms of putting pressure (increasing price) to maximize profit.
Therefore, Doordash will SQUEEZE HARD drivers by manipulating the AR, TIER (Gold, Silver game....) and Cherry picking.
So it's not a surprise to see them continuously sabotaging drivers by their lie.
I cherry pick and stay around 20% and get better orders then those gold status “high paying orders” lol 😂

I stopped giving a crap about the AR, because the closer I got to 70%, the worse the offers became. I’m sorry but what they call “high paying” offers are no better than some poor offers. My time and gas are more important to me than a 70% AR.
Yep! I got my ar rate up to 80% for a day and still got so many trash orders that I'm back down to 70% in 2 days.
Those $6 offers for 22 miles are the ones that track me up. 🤡
@@petemanning1768yep… my area is easy to maintain a 70% AR in, but every time we get close to 85%, we get a string of crap that makes my face turn red as a tomato. It also seems every area we have an opportunity to gain an AR point is where they like to shoot out those garbage orders. Supposedly the higher your AR the fewer positions you need to fill with an accept to regain the point. Lower AR folks should be getting tons of these garbage orders. Thing is, there are so many td’s here waiting for the tier program that EVERYONE gets the same amount of garbage orders no matter their AR. We have to do some nifty strategizing to get rid of the order and keep the AR at the end of the month, but we seem to all make it through unscathed.
We lost TD this past month by 1 comp%. Wound up on the last day needing a few bucks for dinner, got a stacked order going 22 miles for $3.75. I forgot what day it was and wound up accepting both and immediately dropping them to keep the AR. Realized what I did nearly as fast. This month has been the worst month we’ve had in over a year when we were still cherry pickers. Orders have been rotten at best. Granted, we were able to use the comp% points to keep the AR this past week and juggle ourselves back up over 95% com%… but I think we’ve only made about 3/4 of our typical average this month while driving more miles. Where we’re typically running at $2/mile, we’re now around $1.25/mile.
Decent orders aren’t hard to get here. It’s also easy to schedule if you’re not a TD… like I said, nearly everyone is a top dasher. When they pop out with the 80% AR requirement to be td or gold is when we drop that entire game and start running several different apps. DD is destroying themselves…but I don’t think they much care. They just started drone delivery service here through wing and DD and I don’t think drivers are actually in their plans for the future.

I knew long ago that DoorDash has been slow rolling ever more brazen manipulation tactics. I quit dashing for good last September. I do enjoy watching others suffer and you know Mike gets content. It's not all a loss for him after all. Keep it up Mike, stay safe and sane. Edit: I'm in a zone close to Mike, due South. DD sent me a notification wanting me to recruit new suckers(drivers) to the platform. No way would I ever recommend a friend to get into driving for DD at this present time.

I’ve been a platinum dasher for 2 months…the orders are the same garbage! In that 2 months I’ve seen 2 LOPs & spend the majority of my time taking trash to mediocre orders trying to Keep my AR in the 70s!
I'm Platinum also and see a big difference especially the one week I dipped back to Silver. I only work promos anyway so that helps as well

I am from Pittsburgh and have driven in your zone before (primarily drive in Wexford/cranberry). I do really good with platinum status but run without a red card. You are far better off without doing shop and delivery, they are a waste of time. Report your red card stolen and give it a try and see what you think.

So I’m from Australia and I’ve noticed vast differences between the U.S and Australian DD market.
We never use our red cards. I never get shop and deliver because we get pick ups from out local grocery store and the store picks the items and packs them for pickup!
We don’t get offers under $5 ever. I’ve never had a $3 or so offer.

I’m in the U.S and it’s the same for me. I never activated that red card. Definitely not shopping for people lol. They have my groceries already shopped for and bagged, just like your situation. Average is about $10 an offer. 50% I get a little extra cash tips from them. 5-8 miles average as well.
Mike, did you see the Fresno CA market tier changed to 80% AR/97% CR/4.8 stars and 150 deliveries per month? Also they said dash now is just gone that only gives you priority to get on whne it’s busy. Unless you schedule. You can find posts about it. The writing is on the wall for doordash.
California has Proposition 22 law which guarantees minimum pay so DD will probably act accordingly and pull the carpet under yr feet... Im not in CA but anyway we all should keep this side job on its real place: on the side!
I live in Bakersfield,CA and this new update is here as well. There’s genuinely no point to maintain platinum status now that dash now is unavailable. I was platinum until that hit my market 2 days ago.
Yeah, just got 2 hours in two days being in platinum in Fresno. Just insane now, Dash now rarely shows up.
thank you for sacrificing your sanity to expose these acceptance rate programs for the joke they are. seems better to just cherry pick when its busy and multiapp when its not or stick with catering/package delivery.
Remember that the chop and delivery program and connect anywhere, you have to request that you no longer want to be part of the program, because the problem is that they give preference to shop and delivery orders than restaurant orders
Even with platinum status they will still send you less than desirable offers. Thats just how the algorithm works.
Yes, DD never said they won't send bad orders to silver, gold and platinum drivers. Those tiers are prioritized to receive high paying orders, not prioritized to not receive low paying and backwards orders. People don't read the wording or want to pretend it's something else. They never, ever said you won't get bad orders with the tier levels.

Yeah to keep my AR high I took an order from Popeyes for 3.92 . I’m relatively new and didn’t think through that amount It was 3.75 from DD and a .17 tip . Just couldn’t believe that I’d rather get nothing for tip . Anyway it got worst Popeyes out of chicken legs Called customer and substituted . Drove to a bad neighborhood late at night . Gave the customer his order and next day got a contract violation because customer said he didn’t get his order Kinda discouraging
I’m sorry this happened to you. If you know your area well, you can look up the address to see what area you’ll be in prior to taking an order. Don’t know your situation but if you can help it, take only orders that are worth it.. Usually people who tip so low are the worst ones.

Honestly you should just turn off shop and deliver. Doing just restaurant orders is much better for me at least. Maybe try it out could be different in the bigger city area?
There is no such thing as a Gold Status in my market. I'm good with being top Dasher and move around at any time. This looks really bad just on keeping your AR up and not even receive anything above $8 per delivery.

Here's what's funny: I get these exact same kinds of offers (yes, lots of DG shopping, among others) at my 12% AR. The only difference is that I don't have that "high paying offer" note popping up on mine. Of course I get other crap offers as well (longer miles, low/no tips, etc.) but enough decent to very good offers peppered in that I will take. So, draw your own conclusions.

I'm in a Diamond market, which is the exact same as the Tier when it comes to priority. I've cherry picked the whole time, I've cherry picked from day one. My AR hangs around 30%. Never tried to get top dasher. I will get high paying (Diamond) orders quite often, and I get enough good orders to meet my weekly goals.
I sometimes feel like we should stop telling dashers you can still make good money with a low AR, and keep it all to ourselves. I do know that some people have top dasher only so they can work around their work and family schedule.

You are absolutely right about building a buffer. My AR is in the mid 80s through the week. That way, I can do some cherry picking on the weekends. Then - build it back up when it is slower...
I stopped doing shop and deliver for dd. I’ll do it for the other apps but dd was horrible for that in my area.
I've commented this 3 or 4 times before but I highly recommend you "lose" your red card especially since you seem to be prioritized for shop orders.
You can also choose an option to NOT get shopping offers. I'm wondering if a driver that does this option would be getting more restaurant (perhaps even good restaurant) offers in lieu of the shopping ones.
@@kev7161 that option isn't available in all markets. The only one I can toggle on/off is cash on delivery.

I had to report my red card lost, and yes you get more/better restaurant orders.
IMO if your AR is above 70% or even 60% its time to drop that red card or they will keeping prioritizing shop and pays, over restaurants. If you can toggle it off, by all means do so, as you can always turn it back on. If cannot toggle, then report lost. If you decide you want to shop again just get new card from DD (free).
DD sent me 2 welcome kits, both had red cards when started, and I also order an extra from their website (they're free), so I still have a few spares if I want to shop again. Toggling would be easier though, if I had it in my market.
I've been watching this guys videos for some time, he always does shop and deliver. Simply just opt out of those in the settings so you won't get them anymore.
Apparently, not everyone has the option to opt-out in their settings menu. I know I don't, but wish I did.
@@mr.bsworld_0oo0_ Here's what you do instead. Go into app, hit the three bars on upper left (the menu) and scroll down to Red Card (click it). Mark it lost/stolen. Poof no more shop and pays. If you want if back just order another red card from DD store , they are free. I did this awhile back and no regrets.

It depends on your market. $1.50 per mile is good for Medford Oregon. I got an offer of $26.75 for 10.1 miles. Took it waited 5 mins at restaurant. Delevered order. As soon as I completed I got a $3 order. Declined it and drove back to my area. Ended up $63 for 2.2 hours
Awesome vid Mike, I tend to reject 8 dollar orders for 3 items going 1.5 miles as I have seen all base pay and no tip form welfare customers , yet have seen the same as 4 dollar base pay and 4 dollar tips for the same for some customers. I am to the point to destroy the the red card, but I miss them 25 dollar banger alcohol orders going a short distance too which is why I havent lost my red card! I have met other dashers locally that told me the shop n pays arent great. Some days I made 44 dollars for shop n pays that take 45 minutes. Maybe its the the amount of dashers and the algorithm predicts on its analytics outcome of what we are willing to do and take. I rejected an order for 17 dollars that would take an hours worth of shopping and only later it came back at me for 38 dollars 30 minutes before the store closed as I rejected it again!
I like the shop and delivers. It’s nice to get out of the car and move around some. Only catch is check out really. That’s the spot where you could get hung up on time
All one has to do is graph the average base pays over the years....if its not going up it wont be going up until theres a shortage of drivers...
Long of the short all these gig apps have all the drivers they need....they have customers used to depending on the service and gearing them to tip less and buy more so they can charge the most fees from customers and merchants.
They have an abundance of drivers taking on all the liabilities.
Now the focus is reducing cost and increase profit and productivity by re-working apps to force everyone to take every order.
Even if its at a loss or break even for drivers; in order just to have access to high paying orders. 🎉
Sure from time to time they will have to give a high paying order to a "gold or less than driver" if it makes financial sense to do so but as time moves on these gig apps are going to treat everyone like a w-2 employee with no benefits and all the liability😂😢😂😢😂😢😂😢😂😅 GOALS 😂😂😂😂

I always laugh when the pickup and dropoff icons overlap on the acceptance screen.
They do this rewards program to try to make dashers take more orders like no tip orders. I have been below 50% and have had orders that showed $6.00 for around 2 miles and after taken it and dropping it off I was payed $14.00 and had the same order to the same customer while on Silver Status that before I accepted it showed $6.00 + and received $14.00. They were both from the same restaurant and really close to the same mileage and received the exact same pay! Just being under 50% didn't obviously say "High Paying Offer"
Talk to support about acceptance rate for percentages apparently when you decline an order your percentage rate goes down by 1% but it can take as many as five or 10 orders to increase your rate back up by 1% she told me it was to discourage cherry picking and I told her it sounded less like discouragement and more like punishment.
The only thing that DoorDash ever means by high-paying orders is any order that is a ratio of two dollars to 1 mile so if it’s four dollars and it’s going to miles they call it high pay
AR at 3% I got $70 for 10 miles, $24.25 for 2 miles and $17.50 for 3.7 miles. Cherry pick and multi app is the only way.
I always just float between 50-60% and honestly, it gives me a bit more wiggle room to decline the terrible ones. As long as I’m above 50% I’ll get some good ones so I can cherry pick a bit more
I've seen $4 come up as a high pay offer for 3.5 miles. They also hide tips too much. I had one tonight that initially showed $8 and ended up being $23.

I took a shop n deliver and cancelled it for 14 items for 14 dollars by where I live. I substitued his hershey almond candy bars for dark almond hershey candy bars and he told me to refund it, then he asked me to pick him up some smokes but he didnt ask me what kind? I was like what kind of name is tobious and I was looking at his name and the fact he lived a half of a mile from the store and was like F this and cancelled his order!!! I just went home n cooked dinner and had a drink and went to bed!
I got some smokes for 2 of my regular customers before.. 1 gave me $100 tip cash n the other 40 dollas.. shhs it was a w
@@PyroTech-bi2ug Nice to hear, but for me where I live is between heaven n hell, I had have ghetto customers say to me ''hurry up'' and to only get there delivering him his chipolte meal to get a 50 cents in a tip!!! I just look at there address and have learned over time to judge them where they live and judge the offer to see if its worth my time. My goal is to break 200 a shift or day for my time!

Id feel that would be out of protocol but correct me if Im wrong? That would be like the customer asking if hey can you pick me up some vodka! Yeah I was at Gold Status but didn't see what I would consider "High Paying Offers" I see better offers for being Prioritized for Shop and Pay Offers. I can do a Shop and Pay order for say 20 in about 20 minutes as long as they are a shorter distant. I will take those all day!!
You should shop the order, get a drone to drop off the items, spoof location mark complete and ready for next order.

The only way you're spoofing location for GPS is with a jailbroken android. Jailbroken iPhones are becoming rare since many apps will not run on IOS 14 or earlier.
Just spent 30 minutes with support trying to explain the guy intentionally gave the wrong address and I wasn't delivering it. In the end they gave me 2 bucks. So $4/hr to clean up their mess and deal with the support staff.
Ou can often times get a to go menu. Most of the Asian food spots hand these out like crazy
I'm a top dasher in Dallas TX but same low earnings base pay is low tips are low 6hours lunch time $50-60 sometimes $70😅

I used to deliver pizza back in the day. I remember doing the math and it came out to $17/hr. I thought that was good at the time.
I was thinking about going for platinum just to see what it’s like but I haven’t seen one person say it’s worth it
If you take trash it validates these terrible fleecing of drivers in doordash and the customers corrupt mind and things will get worse and worse. If both these entities (includes SOME, not all customers) are conditioned by us to fleece us, they will keep doing it.

Those are all orders I'd accept most of the time to keep rating up. There's so many worse orders even as a top dasher with top priority
What is going on with common sense with Doordash? On 2 occasions now, I have seen Doordash leave my order outside the building I am in. Living in an apartment, I always put 2nd floor left on my order to help out the delivery person. However when a person has no common sense and leaves my order outside the building, ready to be stolen by anyone walking by, what am I to do? Do these drivers get instructions on deliveries to house vs. apartments? It doesn't appear so.
I make money on DD mostly by doing the shop & deliver orders with my 12% AR. I like shopping orders because I take the time to learn the layout of the stores and breeze right through. Today I had a $47.00 shop & deliver going 6.8 miles for 17 items and a $28.50 going 2.6 miles for 41 items. I spent less than hour on either one. I'm glad that most DD drivers with high ARs loathe shopping otherwise I wouldn't make any money on that platform.
Is it possible that DoorDash pay has not changed but people are tipping less. I am seeing in my market that tips are down and that’s bringing the order totals down.

I agree.. I stopped Dd just below the $600 mark. Don’t want a 1099 sent to me.. doing Uber eats.. it’s worse with offers and way less offers.. I definitely cherry pick and normally do the grocery delivery for Walmart. Pays more usually

I've been trying to get my AR up to 50% and every time I got to 45% I would get the worst orders possible, I don't think I can get it in my market and I'm definitely second guessing even trying at all lol. Worst order I got today was 2.50 for 9.8 miles and I got like 6 of those in a row before I finally got a net positive dollar to mile ratio order. Went from 43% to to 37%. Should I even keep trying to get my AR up or should I just cherry pick at this point?
Same struggle here. I'm in the Dallas market.
It almost doesn't matter..if they give you a great mileage to pay ratio the algorithm will align it back up before your scheduled shift ends. The only way there to stay ahead a little is to hit end Dash and then start over.. otherwise it's going to milk it back in the end
Cherry pick or get a w2. Never accept offers that don't make sense.

Also another new feature here, is seeing a preview pic of drop off, before you drop off to make sure you are at correct address. Funny thing is I went out tonight and did like 14 deliveries and 3 of the 14 previews, were pics I took. These were of course all usual customers (the 3). I know they are my pics to, because I have a unique hot bag I use to dash. I think DD should pay me for using my pics as the standard. lol
They probably pick picture by if customer gave you a 5 star, as that would mean everything went ok and address/picture, is correct. As mentioned all 3 were customers I deliver to a lot.

You arent the only active red card user. Delivery is a joke anymore. Granted im in the suburbs of pgh and my active time is only 1 hr 43 mins for 53.25 but i spent over 30 hrs 20 mins in dasher time which is the time i spent online. Its a joke anymore
However, you are the only one accepting the shop and delivers on EBO, so the algorithm is picking up that you prefer these kinds of offers

Shop and deliver is ruining DD, I am not far from you and get so many Aldi, Giant Eagle, Target etc orders that I wouldn’t take if I didn’t have to shop. Who takes an order going 13 miles away from where you are and have to shop for “74” items, and you know it’s going to be produce, cases of water etc. I Dash for play money and only keep the red card because I do get decent orders every so often but I have been over 50 and as low as 10 on AR and honestly don’t notice a difference. Seems like if I do get over 50 I get junk, am I giving DD too much credit to be able to do that?
Dash Now is the problem, u dont get it without platinum... Most markets are oversaturated of drivers and more and more come everyday... We should all and i mean all dashers - throw DD in the dumpster... I see restaurants like Dominos retiring their own driver to have DD (us) make the dirty job
I wonder if after you’ve done all that work to get yourself the gold status that it really pushes you towards forcing you into pay by hour because you’re going to have to accept everything anyway and you better not have to accept four dollar offers and would rather be on the pay by hour. Which begs the question isn’t it still better to just have a low acceptance rate so that you can 🍒 cherrypick?
I don't understand mike, In my door dash app, I can turn on and off shop and pay orders at will, my red card is always active. You can toggle the shop and pay orders on or off at will... I'm so confused as to why you dont know how to do this ?
On mine it doesn't give me the option I had to cancel the card altogether to stop them from coming in
The markets that have the tier status… Silver, Gold and Platinum don’t give you the option to toggle off the shop and pay orders in the dasher preferences. You have to drive to a market that is still on the old “Top Dasher” status. I do it all the time. I have the shop and pay toggled off and have for the past month.

Just like anything DD does, not every option they put out is in every market.
Also depends if you have IOS or Android. They have diff options as well.
@@vikings7683 fair enough. I have IOS and in my market you can toggle the shop and pay feature on and off depending on what area your in. It could be the next town over and you lose that feature. That’s why I Dash in an area where you have that option to turn it off because most of the shop and pay orders out here are way too many items and too many miles for the pay. It’s nice to have that choice but I see some don’t.

Curious how much do you delivery Gods expect to get from shopping at the dollar general. Clearly, if someone is ordering via Dollar General their broke. Yeah it’s all bull. I don’t care what my acceptance rate is, if it meant anything to DoorDash I would still be at the 92% that I was in the beginning of March but I simply refuse to take offers paying $3.75 to $5.00 going 9 to 12 miles. I’ll go to zero before I start paying to do deliveries.
We platinum people are the ones who ignored the Decline God's, now yall begging for Gold😅😅. In the tip industry it's u realistic to think you aline will cherry pick all the good offers,that bs. The reality is there's good days and bad, and if you exspect everyday to be high paying your fooling ya self. Your market,your minimum wage, etc will come in to play. I normally work 2-3 hours a shift and average $75-$100 per shift.
Doordash sent me a message that I did a Hard Brake 2x and Fast acceleration 3x compared to my driving History and I'm like you idiots don't know what Safe driving is.

Door Dash needs to be suggesting higher tips and especially higher tips based on miles to be driven. Sure a customer can put in their own tip amount, but most people are lazy and will simply choose one of the suggested options.

I've found since I live on an island and there is always decent traffic on the bridges on or off the island, driving by time isn't bad.
They only pay on the actual time you are doing an order, not waiting or driving back to your "hot spot". They toss every rejected no tip, long miles order. You end up below min. Wage after gas expenses

I’ve been a platinum dasher for 2 months…the orders are the same garbage! In that 2 months I’ve seen 2 LOPs & spend the majority of my time taking trash to mediocre orders trying to Keep my AR in the 70s!
