this definitely has a modern prom vibe to it which I just find so fascinating. like, this is the kind of hairstyle that could fit in most formal occasions and that’s just so cool how over a hundred years later, something can still look so nice
I normally don't pay any attention to makeup/hair tutorial channels because I either don't care for their personality or I just don't care for the modern looks that almost everyone uses. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL THO. Idk if it's just because you do more historical looks or if it's because of how down to earth and ACTUALLY relatable you are. But I do LOVE this channel. I feel so inspired watching!! Just subbed and ready to watch every video!
Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Stewart's book. I've fallen down a rabbit hole reading and researching it, finding out more about him, his associates, and trying to track down the historical details about his academy. It's led me on an incredible journey, and I'm so excited to dig into this book as well!
As a hairdresser and as someone that loves history im obsessed with these videos! It's interesting to see the creative process. I always wondered how they created certain hairstyles back then. Love your channel :)
for some reason i read the title as " I followed an 1867 hour hair tutorial" . My reaction was just whispering oh my god in the most horrified voice you can imagine lmao
I'd love to try follow historical hair guides but the only way I could do them now is with a wig so I love watching these!!! (It's probably a good thing because I WOULD walk around like Empress Sissi, starry pins and all)
This look was so pretty! I'd love more historical hairstyles, especially Renaissance/medieval. Maybe including hair accessories such as snoods (recently bought one at the Renaissance festival and am unsure of more ways to style it)
I downloaded this book and it was so interesting! Would love to see you do more styles from it - it really brings them to life and is easy to imagine someone wearing this in Victorian times when you create them! Please do more, or a series of them all! ❤️
Very educational and pretty! But most of all I love your initial look. As a fellow glasses wearer who likes mid-century fashions it was very inspiring!
When you had the scarf around your head (in the very beginning) I was thinking “she would look good with short hair too!” Then you just reminded me of a young Isabella Rossellini. You’re both beautiful
That was absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately my hair is so long that I can only dream of doing some of your tutorials, but believe me, I'm going to try!!
I'm a former hairstylist (1987 to 2003) that has gone to wearing hair pieces and wigs full time. This is really interesting. I thought you did an excellent job. I bet this can be modernized a bit by pancaking the braid. Hitting the sides and slicked back top with some french lacing (back combing with a brush) to really create fullness and smoothness to the style. Super cute. Thank you for linking the book I'm curious what else is in there. Those curls take a lot of work and you got them perfect!
I LOVE this hairstyle on you! It is so cute & elegant, and absolutely wearable today. Your curls are gorgeous. So happy for you that you found an author who “has your best interests in mind.” The other guy, what was his name? James? - he was a bit snooty, to put it mildly. Anyway, you are so amazingly talented, I hope you do more recreations like this in the future. Congratulations on your success!! Did I mention how beautiful this style looks on you?? 🎊🎀👑🥰✨ ~ Lily
I’m surprised that this hairstyle could pass in today’s world!! It’s so adorable! I hope those untouched ringlet curls come back in a big way!! I think a southern belle type video would be interesting!!
Janet Stephens also tried this hairdo, though she was basing on historical photos, not the book (it seems this was a really popular style). It's interesting to see how you approach the same "problem" from a different angle. The hairstyle looks really pretty on you, 10/10 would wear to a date.
I love seeing someone doing hair that is realistic. I always see them doing crazy hair on a model. Good. Great. But we don't all have a hairdresser living with us that will do it hair every single time we need it done in a nice way. THANK YOU for being real. Lol I've seen some UA-camrs that claim to do it themselves but the hair is to..... Perfect. No stray wispies, no visible pins... Perfect curls. Yeah you totally did that yourself.
Your so amazing, Loepsi!!! My daughter and I are huge fans! Now she's asking whether you can post a tutorial for high pigtails, high braided pigtails as well as high looped braided pigtails? She wants to wear these hairstyles, but I think they're more from the 60s and 70s than from today?! Could you do it? It would be so helpful for us...
Looks very much like Vivien Leigh from Gone With the Wind. A very common hairstyle for Civil War time period. Love the way it looks. Good tutorial for historical costumers. Thanks for doing this!
Hir combs, bits of embroidered lace, Unfortunately, the poor fella couldn't draw these creations fully showing off the beauty of not only DIY Hairdressing, but the decorations were absolutely exquisite.. You, AS Always Are lovely.
I looked at the book you linked and it seems that the "hair jewelry" isn't jewelry *for hair* , but of the memento mori type, made *from hair* of departed loved ones. I've seen examples of it in museums, and it's really interesting to learn more about how it was made.
You should do more hairstyles from the book! That'd be great!
Taylin I agree. I’d like to see more of these from the book.
Omg yes like a mini series
Glad to see Mark Campbell had more realistic ideals on having a stylist at all time
This came out really well! Would love to watch a whole 19th century grwm
You look like a bride, graceful and elegant. Do more please! You're very good at this.
I was just about to comment that this would be a great wedding hair style.
this definitely has a modern prom vibe to it which I just find so fascinating.
like, this is the kind of hairstyle that could fit in most formal occasions and that’s just so cool how over a hundred years later, something can still look so nice
I'd watch a whole series of you following this guy's tutorials! :) Lovely video :)
same! more please!
I normally don't pay any attention to makeup/hair tutorial channels because I either don't care for their personality or I just don't care for the modern looks that almost everyone uses. I was thinking exactly the same thing! 💚
Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Stewart's book. I've fallen down a rabbit hole reading and researching it, finding out more about him, his associates, and trying to track down the historical details about his academy. It's led me on an incredible journey, and I'm so excited to dig into this book as well!
Looks amazing! I’m slowly learning that there’s so many beautiful hair and clothing styles from the past that are still so lovely today
As a hairdresser and as someone that loves history im obsessed with these videos! It's interesting to see the creative process. I always wondered how they created certain hairstyles back then. Love your channel :)
I love these historical hair tutorials! I've had my hair in a pixie for a while, but these videos are really making me want to grow out my hair again.
I remember you back in your perfect sock bun days!!! Wow it's amazing seeing people grow and progress
for some reason i read the title as " I followed an 1867 hour hair tutorial" . My reaction was just whispering oh my god in the most horrified voice you can imagine lmao
Thank you for resurrecting these old hairstyles! It's fun to watch. This style looks cute on you and you did a great job.
Do more. Those styles are really amazing. This one was beautiful, those curls are adorable.
"wondering if they still sell it under that name" i snorted
I'd love to try follow historical hair guides but the only way I could do them now is with a wig so I love watching these!!!
(It's probably a good thing because I WOULD walk around like Empress Sissi, starry pins and all)
The wigs can be practice until your hair is long enough.
@@bluejay8422 I think that'd take years because of my undercut but MAN that'd be great practise
I would LOVE to see more videos like this. It's so fun to watch you have a 'dialogue' with historical hair stylists~
This turned out so well! I'd love to see you make more of these videos where you create hairstyles from original historical tutorials!
11:41 Christine Daaé? ☺☺
Loepsie is one of the creators that I'm happy to watch ads for. Such good content!
Right? Beautiful hairdo tbh
This really looks beautiful! Suits you so well ! Loving this video series of historic hairstyles. 🌸
At first I tought it woukd look quite silly based on the drawing but it ended up beautiful!!
Goargeous! I would like to see the pears scattered around the front braid I just love how those little pearls looks on dark hair
I was thinking the same thing.
That is just so pretty Lucy! I just love the curls curled in different directions.
This look was so pretty!
I'd love more historical hairstyles, especially Renaissance/medieval. Maybe including hair accessories such as snoods (recently bought one at the Renaissance festival and am unsure of more ways to style it)
Your eyeglass frames are super cute!
I downloaded this book and it was so interesting! Would love to see you do more styles from it - it really brings them to life and is easy to imagine someone wearing this in Victorian times when you create them! Please do more, or a series of them all! ❤️
Ever since I came across your videos I'm now addicted to watching them. You are so beautiful.
Your glasses and hairdo is STUNNING
Those glasses suit your face perfectly, gorgeous 😍
Jesus. I still haven't recovered from that pomade and powder hair tutorial and now youtube recommends me that. 😂
This is one of the prettiest hairstyles. Beautiful.
This looks SO pretty on you! Fantastic job!
Oh my goodness! Please do an entire series with hairstyles from that book!
Wow you did such a good job! It looks so fabulous, IDK why we don't do our hair like this now lol.
Those glasses are fantastic.
Omg this is adorable! We need to bring back these styles.
Very educational and pretty! But most of all I love your initial look. As a fellow glasses wearer who likes mid-century fashions it was very inspiring!
That hairstyle is lovely! Good job. I really enjoy these tutorials where you follow vintage directions.
When you had the scarf around your head (in the very beginning) I was thinking “she would look good with short hair too!” Then you just reminded me of a young Isabella Rossellini. You’re both beautiful
I love it! I'd totally do this in a more modern way! Looser, more natural curls, thinner braid ooooh I wanna do that
That was absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately my hair is so long that I can only dream of doing some of your tutorials, but believe me, I'm going to try!!

Amazing! this would actually be a lovely wedding hair style for a bride.
I love that you do these. If I had longer hair this type of research would be so much fun.
You look absolutely beautiful, you are so talented with hair styling you could be a red carpet stylist! 🥰🥰
Kelly Wils ~ I agree she could be. I love how she has fun with it too!
First minute in, and I loove those spectacles on you
They flatter your face shape so well .. :)
I'm just obsessed with these videos 😍

That turned out so beautifully .I would love to try it on my hair ❤
Would love to see another one recreated from this book! Maybe a more complicated one to see if it’s still easier to follow?
This is beautiful! I love how it came out.
Wow!!! More from this book please!!!!
I’m surprised that this hairstyle could pass in today’s world!! It’s so adorable! I hope those untouched ringlet curls come back in a big way!! I think a southern belle type video would be interesting!!

Wow another fantastic video 😍 thanks Lucy!
Love your vlogs. So different from the mainstream ones. Well done on your success.
I love that look on you! Honestly it looks better than some of the bridal up-dos we have seen here lately.
Such a pretty style! One of those braid headbands would work well.
looking forward to my hair being long enough to do this type of styles for fun.
only down to the collarbone so far. but soooooon!!!!!!
My God, you’re so good at this! I love it, and you make it look so easy! For me, it would take hours 😂
Hir combs, bits of embroidered lace, Unfortunately, the poor fella couldn't draw these creations fully showing off the beauty of not only DIY Hairdressing, but the decorations were absolutely exquisite.. You, AS Always Are lovely.
