    My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
    On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
    I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
    You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
    Enjoy browsing!
    Love,
    Lucy

    Instead of a teasing comb I Think a backcombing brush would work great when making older hairstyles. I have one and it makes the hair less tangled but much more floofy!

    For some reasons i hadn't watched this video right away but i finally did and oh my god!! The hairstyle is super elegant ☺☺ i believe that if you managed to tuck the hair a little better under the cushion in the back the result would have been even better but im still in awe at how pretty and refined this looks.

    Love these Victorian vids, and all of the research you do in all of your historical style videos! Could you do a Beauty Beacons feature on Anne Lister, the subject of the new HBO series “Gentleman Jack”? She is a fascinating figure with an interesting style, and it would be cool to showcase an unconventional beauty!

    I've had really short hair (shaved on all sides and 1-2 inches long on the top) for over a decade, but I'm finally growing it out (keeping one small side section shaved) because I really want to do some Victorian and Edwardian inspired hairstyles! I've been watching your channel for a rather long time since I found you through your Beauty Beacons videos, but soon I'll also be able to fully appreciate your hair videos too! ☺

I was wondering if you would ever do a hair tutorial or a video of the main female character of the new video game plague tale: innocence. That makes a ton of sense! Most composers like Beethoven, Mozart, even Debussy are public domain now! Any recording before 1963 should be as well. I find all my resources on IMSLP! It’s a good place to deep dive if you just like listening to that stuff too 😄 Love your videos!!!!

    • @tf7602
      @tf7602 5 років тому

      Lots of leave in conditioner after washing usually does it for me. If it is still frizzy when dry, I'll smooth it down with a bit more conditioner on my palms (just on the outside and only a bit, otherwise it can look oily).
      Fyi: I have dry hair, with a tiny bit of texture so all the hairs that are shorter than the main part (either newly grown or from breakage) stick out a lot as frizz, so that's what I have to smooth down.
      I don't really like most styling products, so I just tame it with leave in conditioner :) dunno if it applies to your situation

    • @PumpkinSpicedHorrorShow
      @PumpkinSpicedHorrorShow 5 років тому

      Do you perhaps touch at your hair a bunch after it’s done? Many people fiddle with their hair without realizing and it can cause a ton of frizz.

    Love the video, but I have doubts about the baroque music. It's all fine and dandy when talking about the 17th and the first half of the 18th century, but a bit weird with the victorian era. I would have gone with something from the romantic period, as that spans all of queen Victoria's reign!
    Still a lovely video!
    Sincerely,
    A person who's had too many music history classes
