"Lord Monford Velaryon's performance during the War of the Bastard King has often been lambasted by both modern military historians and chroniclers of the era. They cite in particular the disastrous Battle of Castle Rushbank, which saw the Velaryon Host completely annihilated save for Monford himself and his 10 household knights. Although this is true, there was simply very little Lord Monford could've done due to the immense numerical overmatch at play. Additionally, the massacre of the Velaryon Host was a necessary sacrifice to allow the larger allied army to retreat from the Lannister Army. The chronicles from the time of the War of the Bastard King are particularly negative due to Lord Monford's victory at King Robert Baratheon's Tourney at King's Landing and the widespread belief at the time of prowess during tourneys equating to strategic thinking in the field. If the rebel forces end up winning the war (as seems likely given the state of things at episode end) I think Monford could very well push the claim for Dragonstone to be given to House Velaryon. It is a historical Valyrian stronghold and while in lore it is supposed to be ruled by the future heir to the Seven Kingdoms, as you showed Renly is currently without any heirs so there is no one to name Prince of Dragonstone. Whether it be a permanent addition to House Velaryon’s lands or more of a “steward of Dragonstone” until an heir arrives to take control of the island, I can see it making sense in universe. Also if Monford is truly holding out for a Targaryen / Blackfyre return, what better way then by keeping their family island safe until such a time. Also, I agree with other commenters that maybe you should hold off on another marriage in case Daenerys returns. Granted that is quite the gamble as there’s no guarantee she’ll return and you are currently lacking a male heir. Absolutely loving the series, keep up the fantastic work!
There's no worry with not having male heirs in this mod, most Westerosi succession is agnatic-cognatic primogeniture. Also, you absolutely butchered Monford's and Daenerys's names lmao.
Pretty sure the Westerlands and The Reach arent bringing their own armies is because thats not how the Mega-War system works in the CK3 AGOT mod. Loyal lords stay as part of The Iron Throne, rebel lords get the temporary independence. Its a bizarre change from how it worked in the CK2 version of the mod.
They were able to bring up their own armies though, even though they were still part of their liege's realm, so they must have found a workaround for it.
@@StrayKing Yeah I noticed that later, the hazards of writing comments before watching the whole video. Not quite sure why they did it that way, but it seems to work.

I hope Evetho has another son. A Dothraki becoming a minor lord in Westeros would totally name their new house "Seahoof," and I want to see this house prosper.
