I love how understated Aurane Waters was in Feast. Guy just comes in, is really hot but bastard born, Cersei gives him all this power and a shiny new fleet, then he just fucks off. No hint at any specific motives, no deeper philosophy to his actions, no idea what’s going through his head. He just comes in, rises and grinds, then dips. Sigma
Stuff like this makes me wonder what would have happened if Jon looked more like his father instead of his mother at winter-fell .As beautiful and handsome as rhaegar ,if he were to be a carbon-copy of rhaegar then that would have been another can of worms and problems for Ned .
One of my favorite minor characters! Hopefully the Lord of the Waters lives long enough for his loyalties to be revealed, the Stepstones do seem to be directly in Euron's line of fire, should he be attempting to claim the throne or get to Dany.
I've been rereading Feast & Dance interchangeably and something I noticed when reading Davos & Cersei's chapters is, Salladhor Saan abandons Stannis for the Stepstones around the same time Aurane catches the eye of Cersei, mayhaps the two are working together to shake the crown of all its worth. Also Aurane suggests that he take all the dregs of Kings Landing for his own crew instead of sending them to the wall.
Dany is definitely the most advantageous side to take for himself personally, especially if she marries him. Not only do their families have a long history and does he bring ships, but his personality appears to be exactly Dany’s “type” in romantic and sexual partners.
I’d unironically love to see you do a video on the pirates of the Caribbean, think of it this was a epic fantasy series that follows hero’s that still have depth and aren’t all perfectly good and have flaws, the world has magic and mystery with exceptional acting by the cast. Pirates of the Caribbean is ASOIAF And both started astronomically good and by the time their series ended the show/films had gone bad
@@fantasyhaven1 we’ll all take this as a yes then and will not do patiently pray for the pirates video. Also more similarities, a fantastic score, amazing sword fights that are thrill rides, the protagonists have the antagonists who are undead or something similar. Both have a little person who struggles to fight because of their height and both are period pieces. All together their the same thing
Of all the politicians in Westeros, few have played it better than our Sigma Pirate King Aurane Waters. Imagine getting an entire fleet built for you just because you're hot, and then running off to dick around in the stepstones while your home country descends further into political turmoil. Truly a based play right there.
Stannis believes all of Ned's trueborn children are dead. Given that the Velaryons still support him, Stannis doesn't seem like a man who would take lands and titles away from his most loyal vassal to give to a bastard.
@hildaalone2232 Sansa VI does happen quite a bit before Jon X and XI, so news of her disappearance should make it to Castle Black eventually, news of Jon becoming Lord Commander does make it to Alayne, though that is her last chapter in AFFC, so news might not travel that fast.
We do know from Cersei's chapters that Aurane wants Dragonstone for his seat. Perhaps if Stannis takes the Iron Throne, he could give the island to Aurane, and thus not need to depose Monterys
Handsome is absolutely edible, especially when you serve Cersei Lannister 🤣 🤣 In the Game of Thrones novels, Cersei is a lot less clever than in the movies, and also a lot more boyish. In particular, the person who left the deepest impression on her was Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen (the eldest brother of the Mother of Dragons, the father of Jon Snow later). Rhaegar was so handsome that Cersei only met him once and wanted to marry him, only to be rebuffed later to return to incest with Jaime as before. Years later, Cersei is now the queen regent, ruling the kingdom because of her young son Tommen. She didn't want to use Tyrell's suggestions, so she appointed a bunch of scumbags herself. The most special of them is Aurane Waters. This man was an illegitimate son of House Velaryon - a family related to the dragon-kings of the Targaryens of old. Initially, he sided with Stannis, after Stannis was defeated at Blackwater (season 2 on the film), was arrested, then released again for swearing allegiance to King Joffrey. All of the above points to Aurane being a worthless bastard, even from the enemy ranks, not to be trusted. But just because he resembled the old Crown Prince Rhaegar (blond hair, silvery gray eyes) that Cersei began to fantasize and named him ... the captain of the navy, with a foot in the royal council. It is worth mentioning that Aurane is only one or two parts like Rhaegar. But Cersei still used him, even always thinking in his head that he wanted her, or glanced at her. What is the end result? Cersei poured a lot of money into building ships for Aurane to command, but as soon as Cersei was imprisoned by the Holy See, Aurane drove all those ships away, ignoring her. Tried to raise a pilot but failed miserably. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Oh no, I was looking forward to the imaginative sponsorship! You are so hilariously creative with each of them! I'd love to listen to more of your Patchface impression 😂👏

House Velaryon low key is pretty cool so many based characters. Corlys the Sea Snake, Alyn Velaryon, and now Aurane Would be interesting if the current young Lord of the Tides were to bond with one of Dany's Dragons as well. 6 year old kid perhaps, but still the Velaryon Lord of the Tides nonetheless Would be interesting if Aurane is just trying to help out his family, but also wants to make his own name remembered as well. Perhaps he'll he the "cool bastard uncle" to his nephew, but that's just an ideal situation. If he were to ally with Daenerys, he'd be merely joining a Targaryen Dragonlord in an invasion of Westeros, like his Ancestor once did for Aegon the Conqueror. And, while I'm not sure how Dany plans to keep the Targaryen name, (Faegon being a likely fake) if she becomes Queen and marries Aurane as a Valyrian blooded (Velaryon) Prince-Consort then that helps solidify the "Blood of Old Valyria" she loves talking about.
