I think Monford, after his recent fame of winning the Battle of the Fork, would have earned the respect of the King and Lords Paramount. He’s earned his place to marry with one of the great houses of Westeros, and Margaery has great inheritables.
Monford in this playthrough has a lot of similarities to Corlys during the Dance of the Dragons, supporting multiple claimants while trying to elevate his family
Marry Margery and you can get the Reach support to push Jon claims and you can get your daughter as Queen and grandchild on the Iron Throne. Have a Grand Wedding to increase the prestige of your House. Also Saaldor San needs to watch his back you’re coming for his head.

After defending Driftmark in a war that is lost to history, Lord Montford continues his war against the Bastard King. Having had some bad results in the earlier part of the war, many Westerosian Lords jokingly mocked for only being a tourney knigth. Montford had to prove his worth. Seeing his chance by baiting the Lannister armies in a battle at Great Fork he intends to lock them in while the main Barratheon armies come in at the rear. But with his smaller force at neerly breaking point, Lord Montford finally hears the battle horns of the Barratheons arriving, smashing into the Lannisters rear, the well equipped Westerlander army of the Lannister get squashed from both sideøs as the encircling manuevrer is complete. Trapped in the chaos is Jamie Lannister who suffers fatal injuries and dies of the consequences. With victory at hand a blank page exist's in the historical records as we do not know how Renly captured the bastard King Maric, but we know he swiftly executed him and sat himself upon The Iron Throne, restoring Barratheon control. The people of Westeros finally sigh in the hope that peace has finally arrived. But news from the north make the people loose their hope's. Because the bastard son of Rhaegar Targaryan is reveled to be Eddard Starks nephew Jon Snow. Jon has gotten himself a landed title, and seeing a new chance to serve the Targaryan bloodlin, the Velaryons quickly eye their chance to join the dragon-house's again. What will coem of this? As great as having Valyrian blood would be, once it came out that Jon was Targaryan, all eyes went to house Velaryon to see what they would do. They exposed the last king as being an incestuous bastard, broke Tywin's armies, and as soon as Jon's secret was revealed, Monford betrothed his eldest daughter to him. All signs point to Monford being a powerful threat to the status quo and would make a lot of Lords nervous, even Renly, whom Monford helped put on the throne. If Monford were to marry a daughter of one of the great houses of Westeros, such as Margaery, then it might make a few lords feel less worried about him or more likely to join him if he backs Jon's claim to the throne.
Not really, the succession in this mod is primogeniture, so even if you don't have a male heir it's not too bad. Also, It'll be different to play as a female for a change.
@@12354rony Right, but besides the usual preoccupation from male lords on securing a male heir, your daughters are betrothed to marry normally, not matrilineally, right? So House Velaryon's rule would end with said daughter since her kids by Jon would be Targaryens.
If Jon pushes his claim and house baratheon is extinct it might be interesting to see you become Lord paramount of the storm lands but based on driftmark still. Also might be fun to get an heir and a spare and give one to the Kings guard of Jon/Aegon.
I vote Margaery. Monford has proven himself in battle, he was amongst those that put Renly on the throne by revealing Maric’s bastardy. It makes sense that he’d be in Renly’s favour and the Tyrell’s would see that.
I know you're going to put the poll up, and I'll make sure to vote, but I would say let Jon make his own decisions about if he wants to push his claim, but push it for him if Renly dies without an heir. Margery would make a good match, too. Not Valyrian, but desperate times call for desperate measures...
Since this is an RP, I think holding out for Daenaerys is a little out there unless you wanna retcon in him being involved with a pro Targ plot like Doran's. I'd go for either Margaery for the Reach, or one of the Sand Snakes/that Dornish princess to consolidate the Pro Targ Bloc.

That might have had some weird interactions the mod's revolt mechanics. I think your solution is more than fair, in any case-the war getting invalidated is by far the least interesting outcome. Since Jon Snow is Eddard's vassal, I think Eddard is the only one who can launch a faction to install his nephew on the throne. Good Ol' Ned might need some _encouragement_ to do that. Alternatively, you could make it so that Jon loses his lands and comes to your court, in which case you could push his claims yourself. However, Eddard obviously has a better chance to succeed. Howland might have forced his hand there-King Renly (or some of his councillors) might well want Jon dead, so the only place Lyanna's child is truly safe is on the throne.

Margery would be a good match. Great traits and a strong alliance. I would break the betrothal with the youngest daughter to keep the Valyrian blood purer. She could be betrothed to a Celtigar or a branch family member of House Velaryon.
Velaryon has a history of marrying with Essosi families, and technically the noble families of those cities are Valyrian descendants so I think it still fits. And Monford doesn’t have too much reason to break that very helpful alliance, that’d be asking for some kind of revenge for the insult.
So even with the canon traits option turned on the game get Jon wrong every time, I've only watched the show and not read the books but I think show Jon traits would be brave, honorable, just, stubborn. you could switch out just with honest or diligent, either of those fit as well.
The mod is based entirely on the books, not the show. (Thank god)
Maybe try to get the title for dragonstone, bc rn u obv couldn’t help that much

Renly just decide to give up after killing each other for 7 years. He is going to win why are you fcking give up ?
I didnt understand why this war lasted so long ?
Mostly becasue CK3s war mechanics are not very good, add the AGOT mod on top of it and the AI simply freaks out, having no clue what to do.
