You can chip away Grym's health without him even laying eyes on you, you fill the mould and materials, then hop back on the stairs with a WHOLE party, and activate the forge with a bow! You can operate lava valve that way too! If you get bored of slowly chipping away his health, you use summons to get him in the middle!
It works with any ranged weapon too if you dont have anyone with magic missile. Just have Shadowheart cast bless on all characters and make sure they all have a ranged wep. Best way to do it is to have at least 2 characters on the platform opposite of the valve in the beginning. Have one of them hit the boss with a ranged wep (after you cast bless on them), preferably a character that has extra attack so you can shoot again if you miss. Have Shadowheart stand near the hammer lever. You can leave the character that operated the lava valve right there. When the boss goes for the attacker you pound him with the hammer. Then you deal with the nephits with the 3 characters that are closest to them. This should not take more than 1 turn if you do it right. If the boss gets up taunt him with the character that is standing at the lava valve, but make sure he is at the far end of the platform so the boss walks at least 9 feet to him. He will get hit, but should not die in one turn. Then taunt the boss again with the characters that are on the platform where the nephits died. Make sure the boss has walked through lava for the overheated debuff. If the boss walks from the lava valve toward them he will stop on the crucible and you can smack him again with the hammer. If he was overheated he will die. GG This fight is all about positioning, using ranged weapons or spells and having bless on all characters. Bless will give you that extra attack die which will improve your chance to hit with ranged weapons. Bear in mind that on tactician difficulty the adamantite hammer does less damage so you have to hit him 3 times instead of 2, but with this tactic you should be able to taunt him back and forth without getting hurt too much on any character. Hope this helps. Enjoy :) PS: Dredizzle, you are missing a very important spell on Shadowheart - healing word 10:52. That is the long range heal which allows you to heal and also raise a fallen ally from 18m range. You should always have that spell prepared mate. Also i strongly recommend you respec her to Life Domain so she can become a true healer. Her Trickery domain is not that useful unless you really plan to have your party sneak into every combat. The healing spells and bonus healing you get from life domain is MUCH more useful in the entire campaign than the ability to give your allies a bonus to stealth. Also ALWAYS keep Spirit Guardians on her. It is one of the best AOE spells in the game especially against small enemies.
WAY TOO MANY WORDS to get to the point, but this video did give me ideas that made the fight much less annoying and I did actually win with only one party member unconscious.
Guys, just give Karlach and the gith lady hammers, and move 1 in front of where the boss spawns and one behind. Make your characters jump to these locations, and do not let them walk. Keep our character or Shadow heart by the wheel. And just let your ladies smash him to bits.
I just had a guy stay in the stairs over the forge and throw barrels near the boss, he would take aoe damage and doesnt get my caracter in combat so i can throw as many as i want in the first round of the fight
@@Dredizzle The editing was not bad. Production value is nice, but the most important part is the content, and you nailed it. You explained this encounter so well. I was able to use your method flawlessly the first time and it played out exactly like in the video. Except, my only character with MM was Gale, so he was my "bait" and somehow he survived 2 hits from that boss!
Hey wasup jeff! you have to make sure the character that you are using as "bait" aka aggro on is the one who is hitting him first. use an attack with high hit rate % Ex: magic missile right when he spawns in from the pipe. this strategy only work if you can hit him early on with that character.

As soon as i heard you need to move your characters around the battle area, i knew this wasn't the easiest way to kill this boss. I feel like i need to mske my own video at this point.😅
I think I have a bug where it wont let the lava come out no matter what I try with the wheel/lever Edit: I reloaded a save from a bit before then and when I got back it worked correctly. Thanks !!
this video is best watched with a 1.5 speed. Guy talks slowely, maybe for revenue, maybe because it is his style - but you can value your time, watch with 1.5 speed, and understand everything.

Thank YOU!!! I tried all other videos but this was the only way I could defeat the boss 🎉
glad it helped you out buddy! appreciate the kind the words! Thanks

tried this strat. didn't work out for me so well. the boss always goes for a character other than the one that pulled agro on it. :/

Thank you so much! I was struggling with this so much until I found this
I really do appreciate the praise man! I will definitely get way better at making these type of videos in the future on my channel. Thanks!
The platform isn’t lowering it’s immediately slamming the hammer
Im almost ready to quit this mission
I think I have a bug where it wont let the lava come out no matter what I try with the wheel/lever

Hmmm. interesting that is a bug with the lava. I never had that happen in my playthrough glad it's fixed tho buddy! Take care hope the video helped!

Ima try this on tactician he’s lvl 10 with 400 Hp and I’m lvl 5 😁
I just pulled it off
Bro its ok to take time to breath
Nice tatic
Thanks buddy! Glad it helped you out! 🙏🏼
For some reason i can never make the lava come out a second time
you have to make to sure to turn the wheel during battle on the back right side of the forge arena.
and remember you can fire an arrow or use mage hand to push buttons or turn wheels such as the one for getting more lava @@Dredizzle
@@Ireniicus gotcha! Thanks man!
Far too completed and why no prep, dithering, changing, diffidence, moving on quickly.
I see your problem if you think the boss is hard. You aren't using budging weapons. Get some hammers.
Worst and boring fight. And also a challenging one too. Witch this boss makes it my favourite 😂💀
Good info, but you need to stop saying “Not a big deal” so much. I lost track of how often you said it Really got annoying.
