In the same vein as Spectrobes, I played Fossil Fighters 1 and Champions when I was younger. Fossil Fighters was amazing and I can constantly replay it with new teams without getting tired because it’s just that fun for me. (But admittedly the gameplay in champions was so much better.) Well, personally, I thought the game's mechanics were great, but way too easily cheesed (I found out early in both games that Compso is the most broken support Vivo in either game.) The games make it way too easy to brute-force your way through without much going in terms of strategy. I _do_ like how the second game introduced team synergies, that encourages you to experiment to unlock powerful super-moves with the right team composition, but even those take a back seat to debilitating the enemy's attack and defense while simultaneously boosting your frontline's attack to effectively clap people like a .45 to the head.

I want to thank you. I've played a lot of these and it warms my heart to see someone talk about Hamtaro. Fun fact, both it and its sequel, Ham-Ham Heartbreak, had Miyamoto in the dev team. No, really. Also thank you for reminding me of Big Ol Bass 2. I had deemed that game lost forever to the very back of my memory.
One of my favorite childhood games was on the Nintendo Wii known as Zack and Wiki. A puzzle and point-and-click styled game where you play as Zack, a rookie pirate who travels with Wiki, a magical golden monkey who can fly and transform into a bell. When the bell is rung, living creatures can be turned into objects like Totems, a Saw, a Bomb, etc. The game is separated into 5 main areas. The first being the Temple Ruins where you first learn the controls. Then comes the Frozen Temple. It has many fun levels, but my goodness, playing this game as a 7-10 year old and going through two certain stages were like nightmares. The first one, which I can't remember the name of right now even though I've recently played, has you keep an eye on the time and when the clock strikes twelve, a mechanical being will awaken and anything it finds off like footprints in the snow, it will try to clean up. And he appears frequently. I was always too scared to move because of this. The other difficult stage from my childhood was Frost Breath. This is the boss stage against a massive Icy Lion Head who's icy breath can freeze you solid. It's also why the temple is frozen. Young me didn't know how mirrors and light worked so I failed the level constantly. Also, you don't have Wiki this time which happens twice in the game. If you miss the blast 3 times, you lose. My family had to search up how to do it. Then came the Volcano section. There, I was able to get through all the stages, but the Boss level, The Ancient Wyrm, it confused me as well. I can't remember if I had to also use a guide on this level too, but I feel that I knew what to do a lot better. You have to raise a huge ancient hammer by placing totems on all of the posts and fill the glass container on the roof with water which is used to defeat Swellosaurus. Also, you have Swellosaurus Jr. to look after. It is hard to try and cradle him using motion controls so he won't cry. Then is a small intermission stage where you have to take back the map to the next main area from Captain Rose and her army of Goons. It's a stealth styled puzzle and you have to make sure not to be caught. The fourth area is Barbaros' Castle. There, ghosts swarm this huge castle and many unusual things happen like paintings that you can go through or example. The boss was also a nightmare to beat and I can't remember if I needed a guide or not. The boss was a mechanical guardian in the style of Maiden Dolls known as S.D. III A/B/C. It includes a lot of situations you need to survive and blow up each one of the three guardians from largest to smallest. There's still more to say and I haven't even gotten to the end, but that's all I really want to say. Even more, I still had to search up how to find some of the post game secret treasures since I didn't know how to find the clues for them. I knew some of them due to searching them up from years ago but others still stump me and I'm now trying to look for them without cheating since I have all the clues now.

Spectrobes was so damn good
Spectrobe had some relly sick design was mind blowing seing the polional models fihting in your DS while Pokémon were just PNGs.
Now I remember Spectrobes... Thanks you so much
BROOO I REMEMBER ENJOYING THE HELL OUT OF RUMBLE ARENA! I loved the mini-games and I remember finding out there were Digimons that you could unlock that were combined I think???
I remember getting stuck somewhere while playing Spectrobes and never figured it out… this happened often with my childhood games.
I loved the hell outta some Medabots AX as a kid. Glad to see there is in fact someone else that remembers it
