You played spectrobe? Ah a man of quality.
Right? That game is amazing. The musics, the design, the overall universe... It's really sad they didn't make more because god damn was it a good franchise.

Holy shit, that name brings back memories
I, too, know the pain of showing a stranger one of my favorite games ever, and receiving a flat reply of "Never heard of it."
*sigh*
IKR it’s like a part of you inside just dies in disbelief of what you just heard...
still happens man
i read this comment in a Yahtzee voice...
I mean.. you can't expect everyone to have heard of every game. Of course the AAA titles were the one most heard of, it's the same deal today. :P
GaruuSpike Seeing as my favorite game of all time is a fucking iPhone game yeah I get that a lot so I usually just default to “Ocarina of Tims is my favorite game” cause I mean that’s usually the default one

Spectrobes finally out here getting some love
I know right, I honestly never hear about the game, and it was so fun, and interesting.
I mean the story wasn't that great aside from the darkness that brought the nado monsters.
But the monster collecting was great, damn shame the sequels wasn't as good tho on the DS, and especially the Wii
Everyone on this planet has played goldeneye
Me: am I a joke to you?
Cayden Smith lol 😂
I never played Golden Eye
Are we jokes? Are we like the Ninja Turtles?
I never played a golden eye game but i did play medabots
I'm not joking

Also why hasn’t anyone (besides Jaiden) ever at least mentioned this gem of a game
Good point. I will make sure there is another.
What about Monger? He did a video on the whole series.

Ivan Animated I remember playin spectrobes as a kid but I’m not sure what ever happened. To it. Though I do remember loving the game.

Sceptrobes? I used to play that as a kid too. Man that really brings back memories.
Same here.
You: yes, everybody on this planet has played Golden eye. Kids in 2020: we havent
I had Hamtaro for GBA and Spectrobes and they were the best!
Damn spectrobe was good, I remember trying to get secret evolution or the feeling you get when you uncover a rare fossile, pure bliss.
My potato with ear wings is now a full grown man
FrozenFireXVII Oh yeah? My disabled looking corn became a giant mech with 20 rocket launchers on its legs and a laser minigun on its belly

I loved playing Medabots AX, I played the Rokusho version. I remember resetting the game every time I lose because I don't want to lose Rokusho's medaparts. I kept hunting them all, battling over and over to collect every single medapart back then. Fun times
Man... _someone’s never heard of Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story._
Daniel Sambar BOI THAT HANDS DOWN BEST GAME EVER THAT WAS THE SH*T

I still haven’t beaten paper Mario the thousand year door
Yo you young if you played that as a kid
I played that it was so fun I just couldn’t beat it
I played a Wall-E game and Phineas and Ferb games on my DS. Really enjoyed both of those games.
Also Sonic Colors on the DS as well.
I played really shitty Lego games, nintendogs, and weird family simulators. I also played link and zelda games. I still do actually. Rip.
I remeber those! Haha I had them on one big game card
Sonic Colors goes dummy hard

There was a sequel too, that nobody really knows about
I want a Spectrobes games on Switch, they were so good.
They also made an official Spectrobes "anime" on youtube back in the days.
THEY FUCKING WHAT?!!?
Too bad Disney said "N O M O R E"
I want it on switch too
If the games are sooo underrated how come I never heard of them,
huh yeah that’s what I thought.
you forgot the funny
Anyone grew up playing Neopets: The Darkest Faerie for PS2 that was handed down to you from *generations* but you've never actually played Neopets? Hehe yea, that is actually a good game, I still play it, I actually haven't discovered everything yet.
Spectrobes was actually so cool, they fixed up the combat in the second game from what i can remember, and i played a wii version with my friends and it was great
There was a Wii version?
@@Urbansprint5100 cant rememeber if it was just the second one on the wii or another game, but i do remember playing one
I didn't like the sequels as much TBH maybe it is nostalgia, but I loved the floating nature of the OG combat.
@@zefiah1218
Yes, Spectrobes Origins.
Spectrobes and Megaman ZX advent were some of my favourite games that none of my other friends had heard of.
The Rat mega man zx advent is a gem
Derp Wøøfy
The voiced cutscenes were cinematic MASTERPIECES
1:42 when you first play assassin's creed 2
I cant believe your robot is an amalgamation of other robots... Megaman standing awkwardly in the corner
Omg, finally someone appreciates how good spectrobes was
In the same vein as Spectrobes, I played Fossil Fighters 1 and Champions when I was younger. Much like Spectrobes, you went around, digging up fossils, but the combat was more of a turn-based 3v3 affair. They're pretty decent titles, but I liked the first game more for story, and the second game more for gameplay.
Because ending any game by fighting the tonsil of an ALIEN SPACE BEAST TO SAVE THE WORLD is the best ending you can ever conceive, I don't care what my therapist says.
Meanwhile, the second game has the honors of *actually feeling like I'm participating in something.*
MY MAN
Ah, I see you’re a man of culture as well.
I grew up with both games and I have Frontier too, the 3DS game.
Fossil Fighters was amazing and I can constantly replay it with new teams without getting tired because it’s just that fun for me.
(But admittedly the gameplay in champions was so much better.)
(Also you do fight a tonsil in champions too but instead of it being the tonsil of a planet devouring tadpole monster it’s just the tonsil of a really big whale)
But yeah the fossil fighters games were 10/10 also V-Raptor best vivo don’t @ me
Hoopdy These games were my childhood my god I was looking for someone to talk about these
Well, personally, I thought the game's mechanics were great, but way too easily cheesed (I found out early in both games that Compso is the most broken support Vivo in either game.) The games make it way too easy to brute-force your way through without much going in terms of strategy. I _do_ like how the second game introduced team synergies, that encourages you to experiment to unlock powerful super-moves with the right team composition, but even those take a back seat to debilitating the enemy's attack and defense while simultaneously boosting your frontline's attack to effectively clap people like a .45 to the head.
Hoopdy ah, I have fond memories of beating Zongazonga with a single Parapu because the AI can’t deal with confusion. Champions is one of my favorite DS games but the AI really wasn’t great.
“With how crazy youtube is right now...”
UA-cam: you will see your end
I still have that fishing game, the Reel Fishing and I also still have my Spectrobes game too.
Oh, well this list is probably gonna su-
*sees Digimon Rumble*
*OH HELL YEAH BABY!*
I thought the same thing!
I think I'm too young to have even seen these games
Nobody talks about the sequel?
Rocket.knight.adventures
Yea I played it too!
Spectrobes, Spectrobes beyond the portals and Spectrobes Origins were my childhood!!!
To bad they haven't brought out a 4th game in the series yet 😢😢😢
(Yes, there were other games in my childhood too >_>
It's funny how I even got to play Spectrobes. Like 11 or 12 years ago I found the old Nintendo DS Game in a puddle on the Streets while I was out with Friends. Of course I took it home, but didn't expected it to still work. But suprise, suprise it worked. And I played for Hours. Good old Times, where Games survived for Hours in a Puddle on the Dirty Street, just to be picked up by a small Boy and be played again.
Nobody: i remember a underrated game that i see that absolutely nobody played and nobody who played remember, Bust A Groove For The PS1
Oh my god. I LOOOVE SPECTROBES!!!! I have all three. I wish they would make more
THERE WERE THREE OF THEM???? WTF WHICH ONE AM I MISSING???????? i got the original and beyond the portals, is there one after???
@@BustyBraixen you are missing Spectrobes Origins for the Wii. It's extremely fun and has pretty decent voice acting. You can also play as either Rallen or Jenna
When y’all were playing Guitar Hero, I was playing Parappa the Rapper, now this game isn’t underrated, but it needs more attention.
The Tangle Mosaic i mean the thing that is sad is that the rhythm/music game trend in america is over and nobody really plays rhythm games anymore except hardcore fans and people in countries (like japan and south korea) who play them often
Can't say I ever played a fishing game on a console, but I sure as hell played them in arcades at pizza places and movie theaters
A game i played so much as a kid was Ratchet and Clank 3 PS2. I loved it so much.
"what about GoldenEye"
"yes, everyone on this planet has played GoldenEye"
*Cough* old man *Cough* ;P
I havent and im 18 years old
Am i a boomer
YOOO, I remember Spectrobes! I don’t know where my copy went, though. :(
Theres a active discord the link is in the r/spectrobes reddit
If you still want to play it you can go to GameStop and get it for like five bucks
Dude GameStop sells ild DS and 3DS games in pretty low prices! Great deal for a great lookin game
Dude same I loved that game but I lost my copy of it, feels bad
I grew up playing Lego Star Wars the complete saga and it was amazing
Yo that was kick ass on the gamecube
Spectrobes Origins for the Wii was absolutely iconic
Digimon rumble arena was my very first PS game. I loved it to death. The minus symbol would subtract from the digivolution energy bar.
Ikr it was so good i must had burned million brain cells on that game😂
Holy shit now I just knew what the minus bar spell did all though all these years.
Personally I feel like the Professor Layton series is underrated, it has fun and good puzzles and a good story. I never hear anybody talking about this wonderful series.
#LaytonForSmash
Everyone played those. Not underrated
Go to the channel Prozd, he's got like a poo ton of professor Layton skits.
I love that series. It's the game that got me into gaming
If you haven't heard anyone talk about these games, you are obviously deaf
@@godofthecripples1237 Or I life in a country where people only play PS and XBox.
Actually yes in one of my magazine demos I picked up siphon filter and fisherman's bait which ended up being some of my favorite games once I got the full versions and between fisherman's bait and fisherman's bait a Bass challenge I completely wore centimeter deep grooves into my joysticks
“Everyone has played..” wait I forgot what he said, what even is the game?
Edit: Is spectrobes basically just a space version of Fossil Fighters? Wait. Spiko and Naguzaro? They’re cool, definitely better than Dinos.
No they are pretty different, Spectrobes has a lot more hazardous and complex areas to explore but can't really remember much about the story, I just remember grinding battles a lot to evolve the Spectrobes and in the second game trying to find a lot of the far more powerful Dark Spectrobes, fun times. Fossil Fighters was awesome too
I've only played fossil fighters but they seem similar
I remember playing the DS lite, with a WII and a ton of games. Not to mention the most powerful one, the game sphere
plasticman15505 henry wait wasn’t the game sphere on jake and josh
@@alecscissorhands2272 that's part of the joke
I remember playing Spectrobes origins on the Wii and it was such a fun co-op game
Spectrobe had some relly sick design was mind blowing seing the polional models fihting in your DS while Pokémon were just PNGs.
I remember an xbox 360 game I found at a garage sale called culdcept saga. You have a deck of cards with elemental monsters, items, and spells (kinda like magic). with those cards you walk around a board and buy/upgrade tiles by putting monsters on them (kinda like monopoly). the goal is to beat your opponent by upgrading tiles and making them loose all their money, or getting to a money cap before they do.
CoolMathGames is where it's at
A man of culture i see
No I would say sonic 06
Yessss! That was my childhood
I remember playing normal Metabots yet, it was more like Pokemon so... Yeyyyy Metabots
i remember watching the show like it was a religious service.
Ayy another hollow knight fan
I remember spectrobez, but I was a dummy and never figure out how to reset the game data, and didn't know what to even do. I have been trying to remember that game for such a long time, Thank you.
This video is a godsend! I love ham hams unite and have been dying to see it get any kind of recognition!
I LOVED SPECTROBES, Also, I played a tonne of Shrek for the Game boy and Home on the Range for the gameboy (I still have my orange and green shrek game boy) and the Pokemon spinoffs especially Ranger
OMG Naguzoro was also one of my favourites. I remember he had like a move where that centaur mouth would spit a fireball. god i love the designs in these games so much.
Thank you for this. The memories all came back.
My under rated games.... golden sun(GA), metroid fusion(GA), goonies(Famicom), Tecmo world cup soccar, tmnt the manhattan project, and a lot of people hate this game.. but double dragon 3....
Metroid Fusion isn't underrated, just underselling. The Metroid series has some of the highest rated games of all time, it's just nobody buys them because Nintendo does a god awful job of marketing them usually.
FINALLY SPECTROBES GETS MENTIONED
Theres a discord the link is in the r/spectrobes reddit
I remember playing Polar Bowler and Elf Bowling on the old Windows computer. I played the typical Super Mario on the Gameboy, when I would visit my cousin I would also borrow her Spyro and Kirby games. My most memorable game of childhood was at 13, Transformers Prime, I played that game for hours on end and replayed it multiple times.
I remember getting stuck somewhere while playing Spectrobes and never figured it out… this happened often with my childhood games.
my favorite thing in sectrobs was getting the geo cystals and then skipping combat entirely

BROOO I REMEMBER ENJOYING THE HELL OUT OF RUMBLE ARENA! I loved the mini-games and I remember finding out there were Digimons that you could unlock that were combined I think???
Only TRUE Gods remember the Pajama Sam games. Only the first two though.
You my friend are a man of taste. remember playing that and that danm fish game for pc
The 3 one was good but the 4 is just horrible
Plumjet09 ٰ no it’s Disney infinity 1.0
1 is kinda cheeks compared to 4 imo, the world was bigger and more interesting and the collectable art was good and fun to find
Holy crap, yeah! I played those in preschool, the first one and I also played Freddie Fish(is that right?), The second one, thinking the main character was the yellow fish from Little mermaid. I also played Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, I loved the ice hockey game. Dear god those were fun.
Spectrobes was underrated? I thought that was the stuff! Still got those weird dot-cards.
I feel this on a spiritual level, when I was young everyone was playing smash bro’s melee, meanwhile I had my ps2 and played Marvel vs Capcom 2
I still remember old games, and I still do enjoy them to this day
WHATS CRACKA LACKIN BIG SMACKING, I HEARD YOU CAN MAKE SOME *SPICY VIDEOS*
But I haven't played Golden Eye!
I guess I'm not from this planet...
If you havent played golden eye than you are a *DISGRACE* like me

Me too kid.
Ummmm... I'm not a human too.
I loved the hell outta some Medabots AX as a kid. Glad to see there is in fact someone else that remembers it
Damn, i literally played all of these games aswel as a kid. Big ol bass 2 was such an awesome game and still play it from time to time to this day.
I loved spectrobes, using those summons and showing my friends was the pinnacle of my life.
DIGIMON RUMBLE ARENA WAS SO FUCKING GOOD THANK YOU
now i remember playing the 2nd one on the ps2 of a friend of mine and having the funniest time ever (although i lost every match lol)
Dude I remember playing that Metabot game!!! It was the sickest!! It was hard as hell though getting all the parts because you had to fight the certain people after awhile!
There was a very similar game to spectrobes called fossil fighters. It was basically like pokemon but you dug up and reanimated dinosaurs. Had the same fossil digging mechanic as spectrobes.
Oh snap I loved that Medabots game growing up.
played digimon rumble 2, but i do admire your quality taste in vintage games
3:40 omg i remember that game i sometimes played it on my ds when i whas like 6
I want to thank you. I've played a lot of these and it warms my heart to see someone talk about Hamtaro. Fun fact, both it and its sequel, Ham-Ham Heartbreak, had Miyamoto in the dev team. No, really.
Also thank you for reminding me of Big Ol Bass 2. I had deemed that game lost forever to the very back of my memory.
Idk about underrated, but a game I loved as a kid that I never er hear anyone talk about was vectorman on the Sega
I still own Vectorman II to this day and me and my brother can kinda speed run the shit out of it. Never had the change of playing the
1st one tho
@@YubisCast ha, it's actually the opposite for me, played the first alot, but never played the second. To add onto that I didnt know there was a second one til many years later, like ps4 and xbox 1 were already out.
No fucking way. I remember playing Spectrobes on my DS Lite when I was 6. My dad had to buy it used so there was an op save file on it. Of course I didn't know what to do because the guy was at the final boss before he gave up and sold the game back. I deleted the file and made a new one, but it got to difficult so I ended up quitting myself.
Man I miss that game.
Holy crap me too, How did you know, youtube!?
Omg me too
Fossil fighters will always be a favorite of mine, so will pokemon conquest, broke the pokemon normal mold and was just a great game
Age of empires 2 actually had a turn based DS version that I liked a lot. Also the dragon quest V remake for the DS.
I remember spectrobes I had that
on wii
Dang this actually makes me realize how bad game companies have gotten
One of my favorite childhood games was on the Nintendo Wii known as Zack and Wiki. A puzzle and point-and-click styled game where you play as Zack, a rookie pirate who travels with Wiki, a magical golden monkey who can fly and transform into a bell. When the bell is rung, living creatures can be turned into objects like Totems, a Saw, a Bomb, etc. The game is separated into 5 main areas. The first being the Temple Ruins where you first learn the controls.
Then comes the Frozen Temple. It has many fun levels, but my goodness, playing this game as a 7-10 year old and going through two certain stages were like nightmares. The first one, which I can't remember the name of right now even though I've recently played, has you keep an eye on the time and when the clock strikes twelve, a mechanical being will awaken and anything it finds off like footprints in the snow, it will try to clean up. And he appears frequently. I was always too scared to move because of this. The other difficult stage from my childhood was Frost Breath. This is the boss stage against a massive Icy Lion Head who's icy breath can freeze you solid. It's also why the temple is frozen. Young me didn't know how mirrors and light worked so I failed the level constantly. Also, you don't have Wiki this time which happens twice in the game. If you miss the blast 3 times, you lose. My family had to search up how to do it.
Then came the Volcano section. There, I was able to get through all the stages, but the Boss level, The Ancient Wyrm, it confused me as well. I can't remember if I had to also use a guide on this level too, but I feel that I knew what to do a lot better. You have to raise a huge ancient hammer by placing totems on all of the posts and fill the glass container on the roof with water which is used to defeat Swellosaurus. Also, you have Swellosaurus Jr. to look after. It is hard to try and cradle him using motion controls so he won't cry.
Then is a small intermission stage where you have to take back the map to the next main area from Captain Rose and her army of Goons. It's a stealth styled puzzle and you have to make sure not to be caught.
The fourth area is Barbaros' Castle. There, ghosts swarm this huge castle and many unusual things happen like paintings that you can go through or example. The boss was also a nightmare to beat and I can't remember if I needed a guide or not. The boss was a mechanical guardian in the style of Maiden Dolls known as S.D. III A/B/C. It includes a lot of situations you need to survive and blow up each one of the three guardians from largest to smallest.
There's still more to say and I haven't even gotten to the end, but that's all I really want to say. Even more, I still had to search up how to find some of the post game secret treasures since I didn't know how to find the clues for them. I knew some of them due to searching them up from years ago but others still stump me and I'm now trying to look for them without cheating since I have all the clues now.
1:07 this hits me sadly more than nostalgicly
I had a friend who played a lot of this game when i was 12 he came to my house a bunch of times because his ps1 was broken if i remember correctly, we played ALOT of this and shadow the hedgehog on ps2..... i didn't meet him ever again since 2009, i changed my phone number , and moved to another school and i didn't know how to contact him since then.......all what left is memories of games we used to play together and some pictures.....
