If you are new in the game you can destroy a guardian with just a shield, first what you need to do is aim a shield at the guardian then when you see the flash hit a to parry it to make a huge amount of damage, with a guardian stalker you will need to parry it three times, it was a really cool trick that I figured out on accident, you can also block guardian lasers but it always breaks the shields, btw this works with any shield. I remember that feeling for a little bit, but then the optional story, weapon durability, and lack of nearly every "Zelda" element, left me super disappointed.
Like he said, it's not a Zelda game. It's a terrible Zelda game, it's a Skyrim with Zelda assets and physics.
Master Roshi a terrible zelda game? R u kidding me? Yes, weapons break and it‘s sometimes annoying, but ONLY BECAUSE OF THE WEAPON DURABILITY SYSTEM, WHICH YOU DON‘T LIKE, YOU SAYING A GAME WITH SEVERAL AWARDS, A GREAT STORY AND MAP AND SO MUCH MYSTERIES IS TERRIBLE??!! (sry for caps, but those ignorant comments, when they call a game *terrible* because of a weapon durability system, but the game is like the best game ever) and btw when you hate the system that much, just use the master sword all the time?
@@lYcronix Turn the salt levels down a little bit and rationalize those thoughts.
I said it's a terrible 'Zelda game'. This is factually true as it has almost nothing a Zelda game is about. Big dungeons with unique bosses, epic story, orchestrated amazing music, item progression, etc.
It's a decent Skyrim/physics/exploration game, but it still felt like the world was dead without any impactful story.
As for using the Master sword, it runs out of energy quickly outside the 5 short story points, the beasts and Ganon.
@@lYcronix (I posted this on another video, copying here for your reply)
There's a lot of reasons why BoTW is factually bad as a Zelda game, and then some opinion.
Story is 'optional'.
Entire game is technically 'optional'.
There's no 'dungeons' (It's hundreds of mini puzzles and the four extremely boring divine beasts which weren't even really puzzles but 'push four buttons, fight same boss every time'.
Ganon's final form doesn't even fight you. He just stands there waiting for you to shoot big glowing weak spots.
Music is mostly ambient noises, boops and beeps, with barely one epic orchestrated pieces.
The weapon breaking mechanics are terrible.
Your reward for fighting camps of enemies is more easily breakable weapons, that will barely kill half of what it took to get the weapon in the first place.
No item progression. Everything is instantly given to you, except armor, but who cares when everything dies instantly to 'deflect', and you can just spam food.
Opinion:
Was there even a memorable character in BoTW? I thought the big tree was cool, but I don't remember any other important character at all.
The world was filled with unique views, but ultimately feels shallow and void of any importance.
The physics system was cool, but the combat lost its charm extremely quickly for me.
The attacking rush move felt like a cheap addition they threw in last minute to help with the wonky combat of things immune to physics.
(I got hungry and decided to post this without the various other reasons I was going to list)
Absolutely agree on playing blind, when I was playing I was even cagey about what I was finding with friends who were playing to try to keep them surprised.

Same
Can relate, I was never into zelda and when I saw this game, I decided to give it a try, i was so amazed by how free it was and it's now my most played game on the switch and I havent finished the game yet, wish this was the first game i bought since this would have had me busy for days on days
When I had to do the four shrines on the Great Plato, instead of going on the bridge to cross the freezing river I did something else. I had cut down a tree, used stasis on said tree, then used the tree to launch myself across the river. That was awesome.
I look up what weapons are available just so I can go "ooooh! I want that one!"
Otherwise I play blind. I might watch a beginners tips guide, but not usually.
I was literally like you, went into the game completely blind and it was so fun!! Until I got stuck at this stupid shrine, I looked it up 😅
Circle toons makes a botw review.
The sequel : hey I'm here now
