Now that we have the formal stuff out of the way, how's it going? Things have been pretty crazy for me recently. In mid-December I decided to drastically cut back on the amount I have been streaming in order to focus more on this channel's videos, and as a result I managed to make this video in 9 days when a 30 minute video normally takes upwards of a month!
I focused a ton on making other parts of GiantGrantGames expand and grow in 2021, which was a good call. Having a place where I can create daily content for people is important as a content creator, but it was bugging me that the main channel wasn't getting the care and dedication that it deserved.
In 2022 I am looking to redirect my focus towards creating more edited videos for this channel. The goal is to get a video out every 2 weeks for the entire year. Its gonna be tough, but I think I am getting slightly faster at making these things!
Anyways, thanks for reading this. I am somewhat apprehensive about the future because its always murky and unclear, but seeing peoples passion and excitement really energizes me to create. You're a good person and I hope you have a wonderful day! - Ігри

I cant believe the firbolgs were a last minute rewrite, dude they're probably one of my favorite deathless moments! These have been a blast from beginning to end and I'm so glad I was here to see it.
For copyright reasons it’s actually Furbolgs… which is like… extremely confusing as to how that gets past copyright and also weirdly fitting for a race of bear-people.

Usually when someone thanks their viewers it feels like a someone is just checking a box. This is probably the first time in a long time on this site it has actually felt genuine. I'm just glad I got on this train when I did, cant wait to see where it goes next.

This is probably the only channel where I've watched every single video, some multiple times, without fail, usually the day they came out or the day after. Like, idk, Grant just has that something that makes everything he does interesting, maybe it's the way he frames stuff, I don't know. I don't even play RTS games in any serious way (I played through some campaigns, but that'd be it), but man, this channel is awesome

I didn’t realize the unique mission bit for a while but when I did I lost my shit at how cleaver and subtle it was it’s one of your best bits
I remember realizing like halfway thru he was saying the same thing again and again and I started laughing each time he said it cause it was just an on going joke lol
Same. I'm ashamed to admit for awhile I took him at his word wherever he said it. Now I know that he never intended it as a serious pan against the mission design, only as a clever joke and method to convey mission goals.
I think it was after the 4th or 5th time he aid that joke that I finally caught onto the fact that he was saying the same thing each time XD

The sheer emotion you can hear coming through in the end when you say "you all have changed my life". It's not just your viewers who affect you, but you also affect your viewers.
I personally didn't know who you were until the UA-cam algorithm suggested your WoL deathless video to me, because someone I watch did a single StarCraft video. I had never played StarCraft before, but I am huge into the RTS genre in general, having most of my early gaming years being in age of empires and command and conquer.
Your videos actually got me interested in StarCraft, a game I would have never played. I just wasn't into something that was completely figured out, but the challenges you faced, and the joy at overcoming them in missions done in ways nobody had before made StarCraft interesting to me. I went ahead and downloaded it, bought the expansions, and enjoy playing it now.
While I do not have time to join streams and watch for any length of time, I do make sure to support you as a creator, as you've also brought enjoyment into my life from something I would have never known. Thanks a bunch, and keep up the good work.

I was expecting All In to be in S Tier. At first, when it was declared to be in A Tier, I was disappointed. Then you explained your stance on S Tier, and your purity of thought when it comes to S Tier's sanctity. My reaction amounted to "But... what could top All In?"
Seeing that there's only one S Tier, and the nature of it... Yeah. Yeah.
Although I, as a viewer, consider All In a kind of S Tier... to you, the runner, the Bunker of Death isn't just a highlight of the runs. It isn't _just_ a masterpiece of execution, or cheese. It's a defining moment in your life. It deserves its lone seat in S Tier in this video.

I think 2 S-tier missions would've been fine for 152 missions honestly, making a narrative about how a ton of different reasons can make a mission S-tier. But i guess that would just be criticising semantics ^^
Exactly this. With Archimonde, biggest baddest play i never couldve imagined. What could possibly top that ? But after the explanation. Yeah totally agree. This is truly "Grants Ranking Of All The Deathless Missions". Keep up the great content giant man.
if you pick brutal difficulty, the bunker of death is the most difficult part of wings of liberty deathless. all in deathless is nice for the variety of effective strategies. grant used a mediokre strategy that caused some problems, but not anything too extreme. all in could be s tier for you if you played the mission differently. I suggest brutal difficulty with deathless and extermination challenges combined.

I was considering buying the Warcraft 3 Remastered, thinking it couldn't be THAT bad. I never played the original so I had no nostalgia to lose...
Your video made me decide to never buy that game. Blizzard has become a sad joke.
As someone who does have a lot of nostalgia for Warcraft 3, I’m glad that I decided to wait for a sale instead of preordering Reforged. And once I heard about the state the game was in, I wasn’t looking for that sale anymore
I don't know why he chose the Song of Frost and Flame as the mission to showcase his Reforged bashing. That mission is an example of good reforging. They fixed the bugged damage trigger and added a fancier cutscene. The trick he used to cheese the deathless run is possible in the original game as well, Reforged just made it easier for him to get it because it conveniently has an FPS cap slider in the options menu (a new feature!).
@@the_kovic go nail that trick in the og warcraft, then report back. On modern hardware, it's not possible. You'd have to do something like run WC3 on a virtual machine under windows xp with 1 thread and 2gb of ram dedicated to it to get the fps to a reasonable 30.
I'm in the same boat. Never played the original, but have fond memories of RTS, was considering it when GGG started Warcraft
I must've gotten the world's only working copy of Reforged bc I honestly had an amazing time with it and had basically zero problems with it.
You did indeed save me from getting reforged, and Niadra wasn't killed off. She is actually one of the most interesting plot points in the ending, because the last instruction she and her brood has ever gotten was to kill all protoss, and it is even mentioned in the ending.
He said she was killed in the books i think
I thought she killed urun’s forces and is still out there. Did she get killed after that?

I absolutely love this channel. The moment you started making bear puns I realized just how amazing your humor is and I hope to see a lot more content in the new year, whatever it may be
I never bought Reforged, but that wasn't because of your efforts (noble as they may be). I was very close to buying it, Warcraft 3 was a huge part of my childhood and I wanted to see what Blizzard would do with the remaster. I am really busy these days with work however and decided I didn't have enough time to dedicate to it, and thank goodness for that. I get to remember WC3 as it was and not the stinking corpse that Reforged is. The cynical way in which Activision-Blizzard stitched the "project" together to try to make an easy dollar is just sad, and really says a lot about how big video game corporations generally view their audiences.
Reforged was such a bullshit, I was going to buy it rather fast to play mods with mine friend and finally try for real WarCraft 3 ladder. Tho I have strict 3 months delay to buy any game, not only its gonna be cheaper but also patched etc.
Reforgrd was a mess even after that time and at release it lookef like an alpha state of a game, not even beta. Placeholders for some animations were good indication for that.
Tho Diablo 2 Remaster sold well even in preorders, this time it was better but remaster will always have such awful cases like Reforged, people just don't learn and nostalgia is hell of a drug. Thats the worst part, no major consequences for a company for releasing pure downgrade of a game amd destroying experience for game that waa enjoyed by fans for so many year prior to that.
@@gemsofsteel3648 That's sad, companies don't have the same impetus to release fully tested games anymore, just patch it until it's playable. That combined with games shifting to a GAAS (Games As A Service) has really turned me off of gaming entirely. Sad to say, it just seems Reforged was another example of lazy cash grab fueled by nostalgia. I'm glad I got to grow up with the good stuff though.

I was going to type something critical about Reforged again, but at this time, this is like beating a dead and decomposed horse. Instead, I'd like to thank you for inspiring me to play classic versions of Warcraft campaigns again. Your videos are very well produced (for this site, anyway) and have a distinct level of quality to them, and even though I don't play Starcraft, I've watched every one of your videos about that game. Good job!
I was considering getting reforged for the campaigns cuz i love the sc2 campaigns (100% achievements btw). But, for real real, your videos stopped me and stuck with an old ass usb stick copy of war3. Thanks Grant for saving me buckaroos

i wish i had an usb copy, nowadays if i want to play war3 without reforge i have to download reforge just to have it tell me that i dont have reforge so i can only play the legitimate game i owned for like 20 years.

Damn, I remember finding a copy of Warcraft 3 on a college computer and copying it over to my terrible 2GB USB drive I had on me... it even had many versions of DOTA on it and other maps...
And it still runs even today. Probably not the multiplayer though.

I've just binged all of your videos, and this was a fantastic way to cap it all off. It's been quite an adventure, full of solving seemingly impossible challenges in the most amazing of ways. These edited gameplay stories are a lot of fun, and we really appreciate them!
It's amazing to see you enjoy about your videos the same things I did as I watched them. This tier list is also quite the accurate recollection of all the moments I thought of when the video started. Honestly, your humor and wit, your sense for content trying to be nuanced and paced and not just cheesing, trying to tell a story instead, is the mainstay of why your videos are unique in here.

I thought the Night Elf deathless campaign tasted like victory. And sweet sweet lemon zest.
Wait, Niadra didn't die Grant. She slaughtered Urun and his Protoss forces and is still out there following the last command of her Queen. She could very well make her return as an antagonist for StarCraft 3 if that ever becomes a thing. Last time she was seen she was trying to create her own version of a Kerrigan.
Also she's a specially crafted Broodmother close to the upgraded Zagara not a random Queen so it makes sense that she is highly capable even right after her birth. It is implied a few times in the lore that the Zerg have a sort of genetic memory that could have helped her fill in all the gaps in between Kerrigans guidance on board the Protoss vessel.
So yeah, if the series continues I fully expect to see Niadra again.
She got killed off in one of the books iirc. Which is exactly as lame as it sounds.

I think it is the great combination of challanges, that sound impossible to most people (including me) with the narratives and little "speech bubbles" you add that makes them unique. Ya know, when Wings of Liberty deathless popped up into my feed, I was amazed. I had never watched Starcraft, hell, never really watched any rts games at all, nor ever really paid attention to challenge runners. It also completely baffled me when I went to look for more videos and found nothing but a stream like, which I just assumed must be big enough for you to be able to throw this much time at with it as your main job, and forgot about it, as I never have the time to watch streams anymore. And then I kept coming back. Your content holds a special little place in my heart, and the little bunker of death at the end called me back to it. Thank you so much for providing so much excellent material that I didn't know I needed, and im glad you could make a career you can enjoy out of it, no matter the bumps. And I hope it only keeps growing! I'll be here to watch you.

By Demons Be Driven might be my favorite of your missions from just waiting for things to get difficult or you to reveal the big cheese, only to realize... I'd been watching the cheese the whole time and literally all you were doing was running there and back. Might be low-tier from the creative perspective, but S-tier comedy in my eyes.
I will say, since you've been reflecting a lot about your videos, for as impressive as these challenge runs are as a feat of micro, you're a -really- good editor and presenter. Learning just now that you lied about the possession poll in The Dark Lady absolutely cracked me up in this video, and just in general, you do a great job giving a light, chill vibe to videos that are basically about the most frustrating things you could ever expect someone to do. Whatever comes next, I'm looking forward to it!
The deathless videos actually did save me from getting reforged, so thanks for that.
Also, if you do tier lists in the future, I find them more interesting if the items aren't listed with all of the ones of the same tier at once. It lets the audience guess a little about where you're going to place them.
Deeply appreciate your content, Grant. It never feels like I’m watching something overly prepared, but like a good friend is showing me something cool he found or that he worked out how to do. There’s some unspeakable “authenticity” to your humor and attitude that just makes it always feel like a comfortable time, even if what I’m watching is you sweat up against those naga.

Damn, I'm smiling ear to ear after such an ending. You truly have a way to convey emotions in your content that few can equal. And now I'm playing Mass Recall, and now have access to the most definitive star craft experience (To me, i can go from the tutorial stage to the end of the story, all in star craft 2) and I thank you so much for that, and for what ive learned

I'll admit I've never visited your stream live (adult life and timezones are a bitch), but I've followed your YT work since finding the deathless runs for the first time (and I can't even remember HOW I found them :P), and the improvement from video to video is clear, and a wonderful thing to see. I've watched some of your VODs on the Archives channel, and always had a ton of fun, both from seeing the weird/amazing maps you play, and from you just being a pleasant person to follow.

They are fun and (as I never got that far into the Human Campaign) I never knew Arthus was anything other than a Health and Safety Inspector, until you said that was a joke I thought it was a genuine part of the story, since Warcraft did have some comedy elements it didn't seem too implausible, perfect delivery.
I do like Turn Based Strategy Games and wish you well with it.
