Chad Caruso hi I am 15 and want to start skating is it to late to start?
If not would you recommend getting a custom built board?
@@brittanysheets3979 never to old to start skating!
For me, the golden rule is: every single trick, try it on the flat first, learning balance, then move to tiny mini ramp/bank, then onwards. Tape or chalk for coping on flat. But even then, wear pads including wrist guards.
Hi Chad are you using hi or low trucks?
1 : Pumping @ 0:41
2 : Kickturn @ 1:53
3 : Rock Fakie @ 3:49
4 : Switch Rock @ 4:40
5 : Slash Grind @ 5:17
6 : Fakie Tail Stall @ 6:27
7 : Bs Rock n' Roll @ 7:18
8 : Drop in @ 8:05
9 : Fly Out @ 9:27
10 : Axle Stall @ 10:10
I've never tried them but a switch rock does not seem like a beginner trick lol. Nose manuals are really hard
@x _ x that makes so much sense actually, Thanks!
Ur a god
I’ve done it, I can do them all!!! 😀
I just learn feeble grind
Thank you for posting the video! I'm 51 and learning to skate. Today I got out in the pool for the first time and had a blast. Sure, I was just riding the pump and carving around (no tricks) But I had a blast. Thank you for all you and other UA-camrs do for us. Subbed.
Trae McCombs 51 wow I’m 15 lmao
Gary Dufresne cool I love I when people don’t give up no matter what their age
Nice that's awesome!! Love to hear people skating. Did it as a teen and picked it up again at 30 made the last year a blast!
inspiring man. Picking it back up after 20 year break
I wish my dad could skate with me, he built me a mini ramp outback and he wanted to drop in and rolled his ankle, and he even says he wishes he could but he’s ”too old and breakable” or whatever
Trick tip for axle stalls: Start in axle stall position, then drop in. This helps people get comfortable standing on the coping with their trucks locked in, then pivoting into the ramp (that's half the trick). I've shared this with so many skaters who were struggling with axle stalls and baaaaaam, they pretty much got it immediately after they started at the top.
the same goes with feebles, drop with one truck on the coping the other one on the top of the ramp and bam
Gonna try this. Thanks!! 😊
I got a tip on starting stall drop ins and it got easy after a few tries. I haven’t tried it on bigger ramps yet. I bet it would help to do your trick.
The axle-in is - to me - scarier than a regular drop in as you are standing truck on coping which feels alien. Metal on metal. Doing the axle-in off a curb on the road is a great way to get the shoulder swing movement dialed in, then take it to a two foot ramp, knees bent, and point down to the ramp with forward arm as you swing in.
I struggle a lot to put my back weeks on the copinggg
Pumping is definitely a trick, and definitely warrants mastering.
I’m a 50 y/o beginner to keep my daughters interested.
You are the first I’ve seen that truly explains weight placement and shifting. TY
I learned rock and rolls yesterday. They're less scary than rock to fakies
Yeah i agree. You can see where you're going
@@krissekross Well the way I learned them was a weird story
@@claysoggyfries how?
@@krissekross Well I was doing these nose bonks hitting the coping, but after I while I realized I was going over the coping and doing small rock and rolls, so I steadily kept trying to make them go over the coping so they could actually rock and roll
Clay Soggyfries I’m learning to skate now but I have a huge fear of falling off for some reason, any tips?
Can you do a 10 Advanced tricks Video (On mini ramp)
I like that!
Maybe 10 medium rare one first and then 10 advanced.
I love streetskating but I really wanna step up my mini ramp game.
Mflg
Jakob Lütgenau same bro
Finally, a trick tip video in an order that makes sense. Thanks man!
I learned to drop in before rock to fakie 😂 otherwise pretty much agree. It was also on a much smaller quarter pipe
Pogolaugh yeah same
Thanks for this, a bunch of 40 year old Dads needed a refresher course! Great teaching.
Who else is watching this video in bed lol
😅 same yeah
I'm 27 and just started skating a few months back -- these videos are incredible for beginners -- Cheers Chad
I’m going to be doing some more tutorial videos, what would you like to learn?
Teach us how to varial heel!
How to transfer a spine, please
rollin in or caveman into transition would be so sick!
@@hailz44
Agreed
@Michael Davise seconded.
Wow! I learned a lot of these out of order:
1-drop in
2-pump
3-rock fakie
4-kick-turns
5-backside rock and roll
I have a small ramp in my drive way but it is hard to do a slash and other ones where you need a good angle so I would love some suggestions on what to learn next!
You can do slash grinds without a lot of room, a slash grind is a kickturn that goes up high enough that it touches the coping, meaning you typically do it head on anyways
37 and just got back into skating after nearly 15 years. My ankles stopped me street skating cause they don't like high drops anymore...
So decided to take up mini ramp instead. Really helpful video as I hardly ever skated transition back in my skating days. Subbed.
I have watched multiple ramp tutorial videos and this is the best explaining as of yet, you really understand the mindset a learner is in. Thank you.
Just need a finishing touch to stay on top of the ramp on the tail stall, and will have all these tricks down! Thanks for all the tips chad!
hay bud! Great video!! I I’m 32 now just got back into skating after 14 years lol just found your channel it’s awesome really is great stuff I’m a big fan!! Keep it up 👍
Thank you for posting this. I love skate tutorial videos. Gives me a bit of confidence
Thanks for the videos, man!!! Totally rad of you to post these!!!
Thanks Chad! I love your videos and it's great to hear that more trick tips are coming! This one was super useful.
Stoked for the next mini ramp tutorial! I'm progressing after 30 in part do to your inspiration man. Thanks for the cool content. Keep it up!
Really Great Video!!! Thank You Chad!!!
These vids helped me so much. I'm working on intermediate ramp tricks now thanks to you
Amazing video, really enjoyed that, gave me a lot of confidence. Thanks and great production quality.
This was soo fricking good, perfect tutorial imho and all these tricks are obtainable relatively quickly without too much risk and after that so many other tricks are possible i think. Thank you
Thanks for the tips
I got all of em 🔥 Onto the next tutorial. This video really helped me build the confidence to get my axle stalls on lock 🔒
Much better sequence of tricks than other videos I've seen. Always good work CHad.
So helpful! Cheers man
this video has been incredibly helpful. Thank you!
love u man, outstanding content as always
this is gold man. thanks a lot for this. wish i have seen your videos before
Thanks broseph. I enjoy the videos. Will learn them soon
This was so sick! Thanks man!
Just brilliant
Love this! Got back into Boarding two years ago and attended a Mini Ramp Clinic this past September! Best thing ever to boost Confidence!
Swing analogy is just right, good work and respect! Heavily recommend learning fs and bs at the same time.
So today at the age of 33 I decided after a 15 year gap to get back on a board. I went to my local mini ramp and started from scratch. Within in about 20mins I was back pumping and doing bs kick turns. Tried a few rock to fakies and managed to land some if a bit shaky. Safe to say I'm not as fit as I was but it was great fun. This video helped a lot. Thank you for the vids.
Hey man this is super usefull! Thanks dude!
great lessons man, really well presented. thx
Great job man!
Thanks for the videos man. I’ve learned a LOT in a short amount of time. Cheers
AWESOME instructions
Loved the video.
Thanks for the tips dude. I just started trying the mini ramp yesterday and luckily I had a good intuition do some of the stuff you said naturally. But now I know where to head next. I appreciate you taking time and making some an Informative banging video. You rock bro.
From a dude who's been skating for 2 months lol
Great tips, Chad!
Thanks for the proper step tutorial!
Thanks for putting dropping in at #8! I'm getting back in, after 20 years. Never managed to drop in back in the day, but had a lot of fun just pumping and kick turns. Makes much more sense mastering these before throwing myself down a ramp. Great progression sequence.
Yesterday I dopped in for the first time! Now to move onto some of these!!
I wish I had this tutorial when I first started skating 16 yrs ago..I got myself freaked out with dropping in then became a mom to 3 and stopped fully.. :( so dumb of me but now Ive started again and will totally be referencing your video! This is the best one yet with breaking which ones are good start with then progress to....so thank you!!
great video! thank u so much
Way cool bro! Nice work and thank you!
Handy wee video for tips. I like all your videos I've seen. You're a cool guy Chad 👍
Another good video Chad...Keep it up!
I think this is my new favourite channel ❤️
Thanks for the tips bro!
Wish I had the benefit of these tutorials thirty years ago! So much more beneficial than learning by watching others without the tips on body positioning etc. Makes me want to start from scratch and try it all again.
Fantastic video man
great job!
this is a really good video thank you
Chad Caruso As a man in my 30's aswell you inspires me to go buy a complete again and apply my energy into skating, you helped me lots man thanks so much keep shredding my dude rock on!
Everything in skateboarding is a trick and maneuver. It’s all fun and beautiful. Even pushing. Nothing in skating comes easy🤍
Finally learned all these tricks thanks to you
Absolutely wicked great skater 🤟😎
Awesome! I just got back into skateboarding after having had a 31-year break. I spent some time in a mini ramp last week and got fs and bs kick turn, drop-in, and rock to fakie down. I will take your advice from this video for the other tricks as I'm fearing grinds and axle stalls due to having had a lot of hang-ups in the past.
im learning how to skate at 29 and i think what you said right at the start (immediate results and confidence boost) is so accurate. thats exactly why im going to learn mini ramp before going back to ollies and flips.
im 4 days in and seeing loads of progress already and all of the progress is coming from the mini ramp work!
thank you so much
subscribed and put the bell on!
I'm a longboarder but I've been saying that transition skating is the real reason to get into skateboarding. This video makes it look realy accesable well done man!!
BRILLIANT VIDEO
Thank you 🖤
Thanks!
I am learning 2 skateboard on my mini ramp and this video is really helping. :)
great video helped me a lot
Just got back in to skating after a 10 year break and this video is really helpful! (think ive watched it at least 15 times already)
I can drop in but face planted hard when attempting a rock to fakie. This video helped me understand that I feel because I had my back leg straight (the leg in used to keeping straight when dropping in). Thanks Chad!
Very good tutorial! :D
We're building a new mini ramp in my pals backyard! Halfway done!
I’m coming over
@@ChadCaruso Oh dude he has a full size meat smoker. Everything he cooks, It's sooo good.
Such a good video! 💪
watching chad do a kickturn in slo mo is hilarious. i mean, he's chillin chillin
Good video nicely explained
this is so good.
I have just had a proud moment of my self. Around 4 months ago I started skating, and I watched this video after learning to drop in . I have just rewatched this video for some ideas of new tricks. I can do all these now !!! I'm proud to say I have completed this beginners video!! Thank you so much for the videos man with out then I don't think I would have fallen in love with skateboarding.
Thank you Chad! I’m going to try some of these at Tanner or Bethpage.
No problem! Hopefully I see you out there!
Thank you
Nice video this helped me
I think I’ll have to keep this video on my watch list and see if I can get each one of these over this season. I have kick turns and drop ins down and am emerging on R2F and RnR, and have done one BS slash grind accidentally on the Tanner 6’ side. Fly outs I could probably nail using the right ramp, then I’d need stand up grind, tail stall, and switch rock.
Muy bueno 👌🏽
great video!
Thank you.
Yo this was such a good video Chad. I mainly do boneless/freestyle/street plant tricks and I want to step up my mini ramp skills so this is literally the perfect guide. You described all the intricacies of the tricks really well and make it very understandable. Thanks for such an awesome video. Gotta go learn some of these now. Peace man
Thanks Oliver, your the man!
Awesome video man. You seem like a dope guy to skate with
Mr. Caruso, you are good, duuuuude! I really ejoyed this tutorial of yours! Thx dude.
learning pumping and proper body position is key. First time rolling into a bowl (Which is basically a rounded ramp) I crashed hard pretty much in less than 3 seconds later. It's important to keep control of your center of mass to roll in the direction you want to go without the board flying out from under you.
Super good video bro
Haven’t skated since I was 12... 26 going on 27 trying to get back Into skating thank you for this video... love this park gonna get there soon and try these let alone drop in only skated street never had the balls to try vert, very smooth and very detailed thank you
I’m 44 and definitely needed this video .
Great teacher forsure 👍
Thanks Wyatt 👊🏼
Thanks
great video very chad
Thanks Don
