Hi guys! An update on my progress (I commented on another video before) I finally learned how to Ollie while moving. It was more of a fear factor for me because it didn't take me long once I committed. Thanks to this channel for all the tutorials. Great stuff I'm motivated to learn more!
ever since i’ve started skating i’ve only done street and i just wanted to be prepared for when i go to a skatepark so i could possibly learn a new grind and this vid taught me everything i needed so this bud was great man thanks so much
You're so good at these videos. I'm binge watching them even if they're not useful for my own skating 'cause they're so well done you make it an art. The Braille videos aren't as useful and half just to show how silly Kyro is. People don't want silliness for help videos, they want something clear and concise, and you do that. I think they just film Kyro improvising, but it's less like jazz or freestyle and more like watching a 3rd grader improvise a book report in front of a class.
Awesome tutorial. This inspires me to getting back to work on my ledge game, which is fairly weak. The practice steps are good suggestions, I will try them all! :-P
I'm actually binge watching VLSkate because I stab-bruised myself HARD in my back right on the corner of a ledge slipping out awkwardly from a back noselide. So rest assured beginners- even if you "know" how to fall and have your tricks down skating will still wreck you any time! The Gonz falling from a firecracker off a curb...
I know this video is old, but I just learned FS 50-50s on ledges. Came back here for ideas where to go next. Wanted to have this in the background and just listen to the audio. Ended up watching the whole thing from beginning to end :D
Its so cool to see skate vids like this im just beginning and i dont really know anyone who can teach me so it's great to see vids that can help people learn
Hi I'd like to thank you for posing such great tutorials. I've learned a bunch of stuff from your channel and I'm proud that I'm finally improving. Keep it up man!
I love your channel! I'm in southern California as well! San Gabriel Valley area. I do have a request for a how to video. I would love to see a good "How to fall properly" video. I've seen many pros fall and roll in to their fall, saving themselves from major injury. I've seen beginners fall like ragdolls putting themselves at big risk for injury. We're all going to fall skating, knowing the proper technique for when it happens is important. Keep up the good work!
I had a lot of trouble learning 50 50s at first but if you think of it more just like jumping forward and practice just ollie ing yO the side by moving your legs forward it helps and I’m not sure if that made sense but that’s how I learned it
I learned boards, then 50’s, to 5-0, to crook, to nose slides, on to smiths... everyone’s different, look up plan b’s “fundamental’ tutorial vids, they’re old but still some of the best
you can cheat a little bit with the backside noseslide because you can do it slappy. (way easier in my opinion) you roll up the obstacles with a little bit of an angle and your front foot all the way up to the nose of your board. then just lock in, slide and pop out. Feels amazing and its way easier, but its kinda cheap tho. But i prefer trying it out one time.
Love it. Can you do one the same thing but no ollie? Cause i could probably do it without ollie but other begginers might want to learn this without ollie
I can slide crooks for days but always had a hard time popping out, I can pop out fakie and crook shuv out but struggle with consistency on the straight pop out. Always does half a heel flip.
work on a nollie off of a curb or box then maybe nose manny before. helps gets used to that forward nudge out of crooks. if you time it right with good speed and commitment youl get it.
this video helped me so good today i just landed my boardslide on a ledge for the first time, but all the other tricks like backside crook...like.... BRUH

I'm learning fs 5-0s and the tip about doing a 50-50 and turning it into a 5-0 i think is going to make a big difference in getting it down
Thanks VLSkate. There are a lot of good tips here. I particularly like the idea of learning 5-0 grinds by doing a 50/50 into a 5-0.

I need to make myself a box like this and practice. These all look so fun. I think the BS crooked looks pro af.

Where was this channel when i was in middle school struggling to learn shit
Did u just call a noseslide easy?
nathan it is
It depends on where the object is front nose I'll hit by accident off sidewalk ledges sometimes tail slides are easier backside
Ik fr sum bullshit
Nose slide was the first slide I ever learned. Front side nose slide was the second

I think the crooked and 5-0s are a little advanced trick IMHO. For starters, the 50-50s and noseslides are good.

Bs boardslide is the worst freaking trick that you can do into ledge, but when you do it into rail, it looks amazing
What's wrong with doing it on a ledge?
Currently can do the BS Boardslide, can't wait to learn all these 5 ledge grind.
did my first ‘real’ 50-50 today at a sketchy skate soot
Best tutorials Ever! Thank you
Nose grinds are harder then crooked grinds true or false
I can nose grind much easier. Crooks for me tend to roll off the side.
Yeah I guess it r the type of skater you are
Backside crooks are easier for me than nose grinds but front side nose grinds are easier than crooks.
False crooks come naturally for me
It's all about the skater
you can cheat a little bit with the backside noseslide because you can do it slappy. (way easier in my opinion)
you roll up the obstacles with a little bit of an angle and your front foot all the way up to the nose of your board. then just lock in, slide and pop out. Feels amazing and its way easier, but its kinda cheap tho. But i prefer trying it out one time.
Thats how i first learned them. Its a great way to get that feeling of locking in and sliding. Still do them on occasion on low curbs and stuff.
PApro ikr, it's a hella fun trick
Not doing an Ollie before the last grind was a big help
Thanks. This is a really high quality tutorial.
Man thanks for making this simple for me .
Does anyone else notice that they are sick grinds but they are also awesome curb stalls
Would like to say quickly as someone who doesn't have many tricks at all I think fs nose slides are easier then bs.
Agreed
Help when I try to do a nose slide I fail to scoot my foot to the nose after the ollie!
This was helpful because I also ride left foot forward and other tutorials are hard to copy because of this
Its nice how your girlfriend comes along to watch
it is real nice and real sad when you don't have girlfriend

Thanks bro
Nice tips 👏🏽👍🏼👍🏼
Board slides are the easiest to learn and in my opinion they are way easier on a rail but all the other ones are probably easier on a box
idk if im doing 5-0’s wrong bc i always grind them in a manny type thing instead of scraping my tail like he did
wass gud? Naw what you’re doing is better

For the FS 5-0 it might be also good to know how to Ollie up a curb or box into a manual
You re the best keep it up brother ❤❤

coming out of the crooked is the hardest you skipped that part?
They are really hard to get out of, I keep going into a boardslide, it's really annoying
Kinda just do a little hop near the end and slide your back foot up to the nose, like you're doing a mini nollie out of it.

Honorable mention; Frontside 50-50 to frontside tailslide. Just get into a 50-50 and just lift up your nose and swing your shoulders.
