Hey Cap, where can I get these mods? Thx.
Some here: ua-cam.com/play/PL3kOAM2N1YJcbzwU5FCo0DRmCdF3owO1o.html
Some not avail yet.
Here's an idea for you why don't you just play with Google maps because you don't play any of these simulators all you do is stick around in the maps boring
@@Mrizing bruh this channel is literally these battles from a bird's eye view so you can see the multiple things happening. If ya don't like it, just piss off.
@@Mrizing here's an idea for you, why don't you stop whining about it and go watch minecraft or something else more along your IQ level.
@@Mrizing I mean he’s doing something right this video has 100 views…
I am amazed at the amount of professionalism that goes into these videos! In addition to being fun of course, it looks like they put a lot of work behind it! that is incredible!
Nice thing to say.
@@grimreaperst’s true. You folks do an amazing job.
Could you do a video on how to build models? I’d really like to see the CF-100 Canuck and the Saab Draken in game. If we can help you with modelling, it might speed up adding new things.
I’m Canadian, and know some historians, as well as living in a town with a massive military base, so I may be able to help on CF-100 details.
Russia? The Kuznetsov is still in drydock. If you do this make sure it has a tug to tow it back to port!
I assume at some point you’ll be modelling the three Type 26 variants. I’m looking forward to seeing how the three designs handle this sort of combat in the model.
@@grimreapers what is a minimum download/upload speed that would adequately support playing this sim? I've been watching for a long while now and I'm considering getting into the hobby.
Any minimum computer specs too.
I agree and am thankful of thier work
@@grimreapers One thing with BVRAAM cueing from JSF is that notching doesn't work very well. Cooperative targeting and guidance via LoS data link means missiles receive constant triangulation for a compressed timeline terminal phase solutions basket.
Every single one of the threat aircraft are being tracked by all/most of the JSF sensors, which are fused and interleaved with each other.
That means the fidelity of AESA + EOTS/DAS sensor fusion tracks, the blistering processing power, and ability to update each missile with higher transfer rate, basically erases your 4th Gen notching tactics meant to defeat mechanically-steered array Radars and older seeker heads.
Remember that the initial 3i software in JSF had 637 NCTR parameters. The resolution of threat aircraft position is extremely high fidelity, with higher transfer rates than you can maneuver from.
Wargaming isn't always about testing perfectly realistic conditions, but determining what the conditions need to be for a certain result. Example LRASM - even with the stealth nerfed as you did, they were still effective. So if they are at least as stealthy as that, they are a real danger.
A flight of 4 Hornets can conceivably wipe out an enemy carrier battle group. Bit different than a saturation attack with Harpoons. Quite a bit cheaper too. Each missile costs about twice as much as a harpoon, but you can use 1/10th as many and probably still have a greater chance of success.
@@dgthe3 Yep, but that depends, those Hornets alone can easily be detected from a farther distance. If they do launch the LRASMs from a far, those LRASMs may have a greater chance of being detected and shot down.
But still technically those 4 Hornets can definitely take down a carrier battle group depending from the distance and angle and where the enemy planes are at on the field.
@@nekopop8159 is detection = lock on?
@@mikolajpe
Nope.
Locking on is entirely different thing.
@@ajaykumarsingh702 than LRASM should still work fine. Isn't this the same problem in DCS with 5-th gen warplanes?
It appears that you overcompensated with the LRASM nerf. I mean, you made it an order of magnitude less stealthy than the F-35, which is the less stealthy of the American stealth fighters. It's really hard to believe that something the size of a LRASM that was designed from the ground up for stealth would be an order of magnitude less stealthy than the significantly larger plane the fired it. I get that some people might not have thought it "fair" that it was completely unopposed last time, but that's specifically what it's designed to do. Hell, it specializes in going undetected so much that it's so slow it'd be an easy target if the enemy were able to track it. That'd be like slowing down the Chinese missiles if too many of them got through, absent any reason to believe that they were actually going faster than they really would be traveling. I can see nerfing it a little to try to make things more sporting if that's what your focus is, but a cross section equal to the F-35 seems like it should be the worst case scenario for the LRASM. Anyway, really enjoyed the video. It was nice to see a battle where there was actually time to intercept the planes before they were in a position to fire off their anti-ship missiles.
Agreed
I don't think size matter that much in stealth. LRASM most likely won't get the same grade of stealth coating as F-35 to keep the cost and maintenance down.
According to the book Skunkworks, the size of the stealth object doesn't matter after the shape has been figured out. Biggest issues in regards to RCS are where all the edges meet.
@@jwzjwz2003cn it's made to kill a fucking carrier. They will spend whatever on it to make it capable of doing that.
Something to cheer China up:
1) There are unconfirmed rumours that their Shenyang J-35 will enter production next year
2) Type 055/maybe 052D? will be modelled soon
3) If and when the YJ-12 gets fixed, can try out this new strategy: Let the anti-shippers take off first and try to take out the American ships before the AIM-260 can shoot the planes down
Agreed. Lots of new tech to come.
Don't forget YJ-21 ASBMs on both 055 and 052D
China is definitely massively nerfed since the larger chunk of their threats are coming from the land based missiles and airforces, not their carrier groups.
errr, a single Chinese carrier YOLOing against Americans by itself? I don't remember anything about "SunTzu said, when clearly F**KED, YOLO Thusly"
can J-15 even take off with full loads yet?
why don't they use the j20 instead of j15?
Oh yes, I've been waiting for this battle ever since you guys introduced the LRASM 😄
Same here :)
Yup, Awesome Battle - you are the best CAP!!
so rad to see the GR modeling their own tech! its been a pleasure watching your channel evolve over the years, you deserve all the success you've had
I am so glad I returned to this channel when I did... Its been great to see your group grow from just a DCS channel to full blown modders!
One of the recent battles had fighters launching missles shortly after leaving the carrier deck. This gave me a thought.
What if the carrier had a NASAM on deck so that it could use munitions from it's magazine without launching aircraft?
I know that the range is greatly reduced but I think it'd be fun to watch.
USN carriers don't carry any offensive vehicles for deck side operations, but the NASAM AIM-120D (or even using the AIM-260) has a very small range when low down in altitude, so launching from the carrier deck would only give it a range of perhaps ~25% (max) compared to its range when fired from a jet going mach ~1.5 at 35k feet. The USMC amphibious carriers have tested bringing their USMC missile-firing units (in this case, HIMARS versus ground/ship targets) on to the topside of the deck and have fired successfully during tests.
@@jamison884 nice
@@jamison884 this is exactly what US carriers have. They have 3 short range (10km RAM launchers for a total of 63 Rapid reload launcher cells.
And 3 Medium ESSM launchers that can intercept missiles out to 50km. For a total of 24 cells.
The ESSM is basically what the land based NASAM system copies
All can be reloaded from the ships magazine by hand.
The R fords have this too.
I feel like it would be a relatively simple matter of designing an AIM-120 or 260 variant that has an additional booster-stage rocket on it which would bring the missile up to medium-to-high altitude before detaching and acting a ‘normal’ 120 or 260. I feel like it would be relatively inexpensive (lol) and an easy way to extend the range of current USN SAM platforms without needing to design an entirely new missile.
But what the hell do I know, I was a goddamned USAF weatherman that jumped out of planes
@@jugganaut33 is this modeled in dcs? I probably wasn't paying close enough attention but I only recall seeing ciws and sm2 being used for defense.
super job guys really enjoying the hard work and dedication that goes into these videos and actual game craft
It’d be interesting to see essentially a commonwealth task force take on the Chinese, like the QE, a pair of t-45’s and t-26’s, alongside a couple ships from Australia, New Zealand and even Canada. Think of it as like a theoretical task force, one that’s entirely possible tbh

amazing to see much better realism, amazing what you guys have done and the effort you put in , love the passion behind these videos. even with dumb ai you guys have done amazing work
Just a quick comment on your naval development. First, absolutely amazing progress developing the new weapons, I honestly didn't expect to see these so soon! Congrats to you and your team.
As far as lasers, they're absolutely on their way, definitely for the US and I assume China is relatively close but they aren't disclosing much as usual. The question on lasers, from my understanding, will be a balance between power and time-on-target. Say you have a ~500 kW laser, it may have enough power to be able to damage/disable an incoming supersonic warhead. However, due to sea-skimming missiles, potential water vapor and pollutants in the air, the horizon itself, and the speed of these missiles, it becomes a balancing act between how much time it takes to disable the missile with a directed beam of energy tracking the target from the moment it gains acquisition of the target as it appears over the horizon up to the time it impacts. If it's a hypersonic missile, it simply may not be enough time to intercept or it may simply require a laser with stupid power we won't see for a while. The first mass-deployed laser is likely to be in the 300 kW range. The horizon at about 100 feet above sea level (radar on a ship roughly) can see approximately 13 miles/20 km which would be even further if the secondary radar from the jets has the capability of tracking these fast and large missiles. However, the laser "turret" itself is still pretty low on most ship designs, likely an estimated 50 feet above sea level which is only a tracking range on a brilliantly clear day of about 15 km. Per this handy online calculator, a hypersonic weapon traveling at 3,000 mph covers 15 km in 11 seconds! I think that becomes the defining limitation as tech develops.
On the other hand, I haven't read anything indicating US naval rail guns anytime in the near future. Last I heard they stopped their largest program by annual funding due to being stuck in development concerning material science. They can make a working rail gun and it takes a lot of energy, but the issue is the metals only last a few shots before damage prevents further shots from being possible. I know China has also released a video of a rail gun working, but there's no info out of China in general (as you're extremely aware of already), so there's no reason to believe they've created a new alloy capable of rail gun repeatability abuse.
Thanks as ever J :)
The UK has just completed its first round of testing with its Dragonfire laser weapon, and I suspect quite a few nations also have ongoing projects. You could say the future is bright for light based weapons... I'll throw myself out.
I'm very skeptical of laser weapons. The problem of diffusion is unavoidable. Movies/TV/Video games never show that in reality the range of missiles and guns is substantially higher in real life and even the theoretical longest range laser is nowhere near even a fraction of what a missile can do.
@@rubiconnn The point of lasers isn't to outrange missiles, it's to protect against them, and at that point they do outrange CIWS/Phalanx etc. And even low power 50kw lasers have been tested out to 2 miles and neutralized target drones. In service units are expected to be 300-800kw
Thanks for the AWESOME info!! 😊
This was probably one of my favorite battles so far. The amount of realism and detail you guys add is just stunning. I LRASMs going for a destroyed carrier is annoying but hey, there has been tons of improvement that make the game feel so real. Thanks everyone for all the work and keep it up please.
Wonderful stuff, Cap. Congrats to all involved!

The new tapes are in the post.
Great SIM scenario! BZ to the GR team for this and future and past videos. The videos and scenarios get better and better with GR modeling efforts despite limitation of game engine and based only upon open-source information. People can get so worked up because they think open-source and game engine are always 100% reflective of real world. You guys are doing hard work trying to keep things within the realm of realism and keeping it unbiased as possible, although being biased/using crazy models in some ways can make some tests more fun as long as this is disclosed. Got to have pure fun sometimes, can't take ourselves too serious. Also, there is uncertainty and friction in conflict. Best hope for deterrence and peace.
Would be interesting to see another re-do of the Taiwan scenario (WarGames 72 A/B) using new modeling assets because any potential conflict most likely would not only be USN vs PLAN but also involve the different services on each side, as well as potential allies. While it is arguable whether a US CSG would operate so close to Taiwan (as in the WarGames 72A/B) scenario, especially at stage of potential conflict without significant prior attrition of PRC assets, that scenario's incorporation of PLAN, PLAAF, and PLA assets would probably be more realistic. That way scenario can test new GR modeled assets vs. PLAN 5 gen or what PLA calls 4th gen like J-20 series as well as land-based Chinese bombers and their anti-ship missiles. I think the biggest assets that would be missing, due to limitations of DCS and modeling, would be PLAN Type 055 (which was already mentioned in this video, SM-6s for USN escorts, unmanned assets on both sides, any Chinese land-based ballistic missiles, EW (which would likely degrade situational awareness and combat capability) and assets like the Growlers already with U.S. CVWs as well as Chinese counterparts, and any subs operating with CSG. But then this would turn into a Dangerous Waters or Harpoon/Command game title and that is not what DCS is!
It is clear you guys put a lot of work and effort in these scenarios, so definitely no "demands" here! Just some food for thought. Keep up the brilliant work and much appreciation to the GR team.
You guys have been doing amazingly modernizing and modeling the missiles out of super patriotic mode. It's been awesome to watch.
There has got to be a way to set the ships to no longer have a radar cross section when dead or underwater, just to stop anti-ship from targeting. We need a mod version carrier. If ED won't fix it, we have to.
It looks like when a ship sinks, it still exists but at the bottom of the sea. So the missiles all still see it. We will keep trying but 99% sure the code for this is locked in core game.
@@grimreapers y did u give the Americans a lot more missiles on their aircraft and not China.
Can u please equal it
Real world SINKEX exercises have proven that it takes a lot of hits to actually sink a modern well-designed warship. Its easy to cause a "mission kill" or "mobility kill" but a lot harder to actually get it heading to the bottom. It realistic to have a naval battle littered with immobilised burning wreaks that still attract radar homing SSM's.
You'll note I wrote "well-designed". The Moskva was an example of badly designed. Far too many large undivided internal spaces. It should be noted that PLAN warships are actually built to "semi-mercantile" standards rather than "warship" standards. That means they are cheaper-but probably not as survivable or robust.
I also have a feeling that DCS does not model naval missile countermeasure such as jammers and decoys like, basic chaff or more sophisticated active ones like Nulka properly.
@@metallicametallica3314 Maybe because the USA has put more missiles on their aircraft and China hasn't? They're trying to simulate potential situations in real life, not a "what if China had a better military instead of authoritarianism and propaganda" alternate-universe.
@@metallicametallica3314 It depends on the plane design, the Chinese J-15B has a lot of missiles as well. But the problem is that they are against the stealthy American planes, especially the F-35 models, so they cannot track down the F-35 to launch their Chinese missiles.
It seems like the Chinese had less missiles but they just cannot launch the missiles because there is no detection of their enemies on the radar.
This gives the American a advantage to launch their missiles first from a far distance because their AIM-260 has that ability to self-detect and track.
China also has this, but did not get to launch most of them because they didn’t had much of a chance to launch so many missiles like the Americans did.
14:00 They actully want the J31/j35 to be in service in 4 to 5 Years
This was fun to watch. Especially the LRSAM Fight at the end. Really nice rendition guys.

That battle went about how I expected.
As anyone that's been through enough OpFor sessions would know.
Looking forward to the NATO •vs• BRICS battle.
I expect it to go even worse for the BRICS since Russia has always had crap kit and the Chinese were watching how it performed against U.S./NATO kit in the Gulf War, OIF and OEF.

Yep, the troops are the weapons, the tech is their tools.
The ccp, like all authoritarian regimes
(Russia 👀), are afraid of their oppressed populations as a whole.
So, they don't train their common soldiers to be high speed, low drag operators.
GYNAHH!!! has a cultural stigma against soldiers, seeing toilet scrubber as a preferable career, with vanishingly few conscripts staying on after their conscription, resulting in 80% of the Chinese armed forces being the equivalent rank of poorly trained E4 or lower that turns over every 4 years.
Russia and GYNAHH!!! have populations that could easily support the necessary 3% needed for an all volunteer military, but their regimes don't provide a life for their populations that is worth dying to defend for their children.
N. Korea couldn't fight their way through a wet piece of toilet paper.
There are plenty of NATO military's that also use conscription, but that is due to small populations that require more than 3%.
Ultimately, their forces don't have the will to fight.
Compared to the highly motivated, highly trained, all volunteer, professional warfighters of the U.S. military, that would rather be in a hot shootout than just about anything else, and GYNAHH!!! would have only suffered worse over a truncated timeline.
The same goes for all of the BRICS.
In order to represent that in PvP FPS games, they would have to put all of the new players on the OpFor team and all of the experienced and pro players on the blue team.
Or consoles •vs• computers.
HaHa!!
BRICS is not military pact
@@bryf2787 Not yet.
I think you could greatly increase the defensive capabilities of a strike fleet if you spread the ships out much further so that they all don't fire missiles at the same targets and waste missiles. It would be a cool video to test this, having ships defend against waves of missiles, testing 1 mile/5 miles/10 miles/20 miles gap between the ships in all directions (not in a straight line).

Another awesome video guys! Thanks!
Brilliant work on the technology Cap and crew! One note on the F-35 - the only downed jet was actually Grump on his critical AWACs run, so that means the AI F-35s had an amazing 100% return rate. If pumping in the publicly available data for all of these jets and weapons results in this kind of performance, one can only imagine how well such systems work in the hands of actual pilots versus the little AI brains! Thank you for the great content as always.
I'm no 5th gen fan, but dang... that's good survival rate.
Apart from the 2 year old F35B’s in the marine fleet already rusting.
Radar tests have already shown the new radar coating absorbs water and carbon and salt on the deck and loses its capability. It’s not all just positives in reality. The reason why F22 and B2 and B21’s are speed limited and so few airframes fly is to preserve the stealth coating.
The F35’s won’t get this luxury they’re going to be a very expensive marmite.
Best one yet. Keep up great work.
8:58 As a Railgun-Enthousiast I am very excited to see Railguns implemented.
Just a quick one for you guys for potential development. The f-35 currently does not use chaff as RF a countermeasure. Instead it uses ALE-70 towed decoys
Noted thx.
Makes sense it would be more effective
Hi Cap! Amazing vid as always but I'd just like to add some comments specifically on the LRASM.
First, instead of a radar seeker, it actually uses an infrared imaging seeker. This coupled with advanced AI, allows it to INDEPENDENTLY select targets completely by itself ON THE SPOT. In reality, they would (probably) finish the carrier off first then once they see it destroyed the remaining missiles would then decide what it thinks is the biggest threat and then go for that ship. That said, its probably impossible to model this feature in game but it would be interesting if possible.
Next, I'd suspect the LRASM to have a RCS of at worst, F22 Raptor size simply because of its small size and simple body shape which makes it much easier to reduce its RCS. Again, amazing vid!
Thanks
I highly doubt an AI, let alone one that fits into a LRASM with limited power and hardware, could figure out that a carrier has been destroyed just with a camera/infrared seeker from kilometers away. An AI isn't magic, it needs information to make a decision and for these complicated decisions with lots of context AIs usually perform worse than humans. Could a human clearly tell whether a Carrier is "destroyed" (you would first have to define what that even means in that context) from a single perspective blurry picture? No. And since an LRASM choosing to steer away from a still intact target would be way worse than hitting the target more than necessary, the AI would have to be able to decide with near 100% accuracy.
@@JohnDoe-jp4em The AI program is already trained when it gets placed on a module, after that, its hardware demands are pretty much like any other piece of software. The LRASM has a bunch of sensors on it that allows it to make well informed decisions and is the size of a King single bed, so there's plenty of room for hardware alongside the warhead itself. I haven't worked on this project, but I am an Adv Comp Sci Student majoring in AI. AI has come quite far and I am sure it would be an effective program installed on the LRASM. The program helps to distinguish between targeting warships based on capability and has no effect on the actual damage it does or the accuracy of the projectile, only the deconfliction aspect. Also, AI does not "usually perform worse than humans", I can tell you that with 100% certainty.
@@charleslynch340 I didn't say it usually performs worse than humans in general, I said it usually performs worse with complex tasks especially visual. Millions of hours of trainingdata and AI running on a powerful computer still sucks at the simple task of driving a car compared to humans. How exactly would you define a training set of an AI to detect whether a carrier is "destroyed" that can work on very limited visual data that works 99% of the time? Apart from obvious things like the carrier being in literal pieces this isn't something that's even easy to define to begin with.
@@JohnDoe-jp4em Figuring out if a ship has been "destroyed", read crippled beyond repair, is a lot easier than driving a car for a computer. It is a matter of variables. There are only so many designs of ships out there. There are only so many ways a ship can be made inoperable. There are only so many ways an explosion will look.

Amazing effort guys!
I notice the new LRASM model doesn't have a pop-up final stage like the first model had. I like it. Seems to have better access to the ship hulls.
We did try popping them with this RCS value, but ships shot them down. So made the assumption that IRL they would not pop.
What a fight, the scale is absolutely amazing Cap.
My only initial thought on LRASM targeting is to try and test battleship targeting mode and spread out the jets to waypoints of ~15 nm apart out, while also alternating each between going to the northern and southern flanks in a large arch pattern (so one takes off flanking north, next on cat takes off and flanks south). As they are set right now, I think they are arriving at the respective waypoints and firing one after the other with only a short delay in firing and a small difference regarding their incoming angle of attack, so each respective wave of missiles fired will go to the same general target without significant variances. Perhaps you also ditch the time-on-attack goal since they aren't detected by the ships as-is, and spread out the flights too, so one anti-air hornet takes off and then one anti-ship hornet in an alternating pattern (or groups of two), and that way the LRASM has a chance due to firing at one end of either the northern/southern flank, also spread out physically on the map (the direction at which they are coming at the enemy ships), and also there would be a built-in timing difference between firings.
when will we get type 055 and 052d on the chinese side???
I love these. Thanks Cap.
This series has really improved. From ships firing guns to probably the best you can do with open source data in DCS.
Best battle yet Cap! Amazing what you guys are doing, and I hope there's some chance you'll release it as originally promised now you have developer(s).
Another great GR battle!! Thanks for making all the videos! Can you share with us how to do the top speed changes to the F-35 and/or others?
Awesome as always SM-6 is in order soon
The scoreboard makes these chaotic naval battles 10x better
I have never played any type of computer/ video game and you buddy have me hooked and and can’t wait to learn the whole game and become one of your wing men, thank you it’s fantastic, H
Nice work
That was awesome cap!!! I wonder are you modeling the ships to have some of the SM-6 and the ESSM missiles?
I second that!!!
That will be in the next re-run of this battle.
@@grimreapers thanks for all your hard work cap!
'ai are better at notching because they're all ones and zeros'
Tell cannonball that.
oof
Actually Chinese Rockets DO have a red tint to their smoke.. something in the rocket fuel causes it to cause the smoke to tint red.
These reddish clouds were caused by nitrogen tetroxide, the oxidizer that combusts with hydrazine fuel.
OOH, I'd love to see a strategy change. Send out planes in either: 1, Uniformly mixed A2A and A2G patterns or 2, More of a subtle transition from A2A to A2G. The latter makes more sense, but I don't know if you can determine the order of planes launching from carrier. It would also be interesting to try that on just one side of the battle, see how much of an effect that would have; for example, redo this video but the American's try this strategy.... direct comparison and such.
Awesome stuff guys, just awesome. You will have to get those new cruise missiles at try them out on the Kerch bridge.
agreed
30:29 "Don't write China off. It can be a dangerous kicking... thing."
Lol very well-put.
Great vid, thanks for all the hard work! I've been looking fprward to thos one since all the new weapons launched.
This match was so one sided though, the LRASM and AIM-260 are such game changers, it begs the question... what does China need to do to beat this? Or even match it? Would adding one of their secondhand Soviet era carriers level the playing field? Would they need a second supercarrier? I'd love to see GR put their minds to it and run it if you have time.
I think with the stealth, the LRASM should be less than a human head from the front.
My grand dad watches these videos sir… that’s epic bro
Now, the question would be if you could mix the waves of F-35 and F-18 to have the stealth still in the air near the end and the Bogs contributing while the fight is long-range as missile trucks
The perfect viewing whilst eating lunch.
Plenty of boom boom.
The GrumpMeister doing his Grumptastic best in removing AWACS and distracting Simba and Cannonball.
Well played for trying to shoot down the LRASM's Cannonball.
Bring on the next one.
🥰🤩😃
Really great job overall, guys! Too bad about the LSRAMs going after a sunken ship, but still did well!
39:45 could you give American Missile's Blue tint smoke!🙏
14:47 ooh, nice. Didn't realize you actually had animated booster separation in this.
Yes! Good show!
Great battle guys!
You say an hour to rearm, but folk involved in the CVF programme have hinted to me that recovering, refuelling, rearming, and putting an F-35B back on the launch spot on a QE class carrier can be done in a bit over 20-25mins. But that is a very different launch and recovery set-up.
I must admit that is quite impressive.
Wow I'm surprised you guys nerfed the stealth on the larasm. I'd say if anything you guys underestimated it in the first video. The stealth technology and coatings on that missile are probably on the same level as the F-22 and F-35. Considering the coating alone is responsible for absorbing like 80 percent of the signal and the fact that the larasm is a fraction of the size of something like an f22 or f35 I'd say they have to be at least as stealthy but probably a lot more.
In a previous video Cap said that the LRASMs didn't have the same level of stealth coating as the F-22 and F-35 as any that impacted but didn't explode could be analysed. That coating is also *very* expensive. I doubt anyone outside of the top level of the military know if this is true though.
Stealth is not equal to invisible.
At certain range, everything is detectable.
This battle was unrealistic because J-15Bs are equipped with high frequency AESA radars and should have detected and lock on the F-35s easily.
Any kind of stealth coating in the missile only protects it from a certain distance till it reaches a point when it's too late for the interception.
So that was awesome I'd say the only thing you guys would have to fix is the launch ranges on the and the Ai ability to not shoot too many missiles at one target.
you guys are incredible
The sortie turn around speed on the Gearld R Ford is quite fast. Conservatively I would say 15 min wheels down to wheels up. Benefits of having a pit stop style.
Scenario idea: In 1809 the Royal Navy sailed into Copenhagen and captured/destroyed the Danish-Norwegian fleet. This week HMS Queen Elisabeth, two frigates and a destroyer is visiting Norway. Could the Norwegian armed forces win a fight against these ships:) Best regards and keep up the good work!
Amazing fight!
Thing Im missing here is J-35 5th gen carrier multirole. It's expected to into service within few years so I would like to see it in these simulations. Also new missiles of PLAN YJ-21 would also change the game. Also we are missing many ships. Zumwalt class cruiser, Type-055 class cruiser, Type-052D/DL class destroyer. EW aircrafts.
I lost track of things, but did you work out if LRASMs in the other firing mode would go for the dead carrier or not? Seemed like all of the ones crashing into the sea were coming from the south, would the north flank ones have gone for the other ships if it had run on a bit?
Really good fight! I can't wait to see where this goes in 2023! Well done team!
I have one lil request: is it possible to model anti ship ballistic missiles like YJ-21? There was a YJ-21E export model shown in the recent ZhuHai air show and its rough specifications were published.
Edit: Type 052D and Type 055 should be able to launch it.
Working on it but months away.
There should be a full wrap up of the situation at the end - summarize loss on each side and surviving units
awesome!
The is the BEST naval battle I have ever seen in a simulation! Very well done! I was freakin waiting for this weeks and weeks ago. I prepared for this video with beers, crisps, popcorn and watched it on my BIG Smart TV. When I saw the video uploaded I just cant resist for some beer and snacks to watch it. Very very well done from you guys. You nailed it! GRIM REAPERS YOU NAILED IT! The BEST video so far on UA-cam. THE BEST! Cant wait for mooooore! :D
One and only youtube subscription, because he calls me a valued viewer :).
I feel like to even come close to something that's fair china needs the type 055 ship and the anti ship range isnt helping either but still yours videos are always fun to watch
What China needs is a modern democratic society.
My bets are on the US, they just have more planes and 5th gen aircraft.
Still hope to see you do a 2v2 carrier simulation with both sides having a past and a future carrier group, like US 80's and 2025 vs Russia 90's and Shtrom, or China 2010 and 2025, or another country's carriers.
Depends on where. Within a thousand miles of Chinese coast.. US is doomed.. outside, Chinese are doomed.
The Gerald R ford would be able to rearm in minutes because of reloading bays all around the deck so the can get back in the fight quickly.
A thunderous round of applause for another spectacular battle.
When the LRASM birds showed up, I said oh yes, it's End of Days time. It sure was for the enemy carrier.
From this day forward, the LRASMs nickname is the End of Days Missile. For it shall be for any ship on the receiving end of one.
Operation Fortune Cookie turned into Operation Save Face. You guys have the most comedic lines.
Had the LRASM-B been available, the surface ships could've joined in and together with the planes, would've put up enough LRASMs to blot out the sun.
In the book Pagasa by FX Holden, the AIM-260 was depicted with loitering attack capability. If it comes with that IRL, it will be the most revolutionary AAM in history.
You guys are jerks got me hooked on these naval battles so cool man I love it good stuff
This was absolutely one of the best Naval Battle GR has done to date!
From the "GR" models and tweaks, the flying, and even the narration (maelstrom FTW!!!) were all spot on!
Ok. That's it. After watching and learning, with a lot more to do, I'm ready to start putting a DCS plan together.
There's just one major thing.....I've had 5 spinal surgeries (12 screws, two 9in rods, a pelvic cage).... and I'm somewhat disabled. Is there anyone/any member that would be willing to speak to me one on one so I can put a realistic plan together?
I really want to do this. I'm just being very open as I also suffer from deep depression. The intense pain, and I'm no able to work, has taken it's toll on me mentally.
I'm not looking for sympathy but if I can be open about it and show others they can too, maybe I'm helping.
I know I'd love to be a part of the GR team as I do have some aviation history. My late grandfather was a retired Air Force Colonel. My great aunt worked for Lockheed during the Apollo program. She also assisted with the U-2 and Trident missile programs.
Finally, my late father served 8 years in the Army from 1966 to 1974. During this time he performed 3 tours in Vietnam (67, 68, and 69), was a paratrooper/Ranger, and received a Purple Heart after taking shrapnel to his left leg during a late night mortar attack.
Sadly, depression took him from us on his 50th birthday in 1998. His poor mind and body had just taken to much abuse and he decided to take a long nap with pain killers and bourbon. So this is why I love anything Military and fighting against depression/helping others fight the fight against it.
Sorry for this buzzkill to such a great video but I just really need assistance getting started.
THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey bud, Drop here. I'm happy to help wherever possible, you can either find me on Discord or ask Cap for my email address. Happily answer any questions you may have. Thanks for watching ♥️
Fellow spinal injury buddy here. I've had spinal surgery and two more scheduled (under 40, due to cancer damage, one each lumbar, thoracic, and cervical). Best of luck.
You guys just continue upping the ante
Best vid ever!
Hoping I could get a response but since the us has so many carriers would it be effective if they knew they were going into a fight to bring another carrier with nothing on deck to be used as a landing and rearming ship. So the stealths can stay in the fight. In my mind that would be great but obviously I'm not in the navy so I dont know how this stuff works, would be cool to see though
