On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

have a friend who's ex Army and he said the greatest sound in Iraq was the whistle of the A10 and then the buzz saw of the gun, they knew they were safe then.

GS coming into the AOA like the big guy in the action movie stomping into the room with only a .357 and a get-f’d state of mind. Love it.
A Hog is a perfect plane to provide air support for rescue missions.

They were basically the new Sandy jet to replace the venerable A-1 Skyraider. Though I also love the OV-10, but more for FAC(a), which the hog also does quite well. Bronco's did impressive work in Iraq last decade slinging APKWS rockets.
If you want to stay in the fight longer, feel free to use the laser-guided Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) rockets. You can carry up to 49 of these “Mini-Mavs” with a T-Pod to laser-guide them into the target. It maximizes time-on-target. 👍

Interesting fact about Apache loadouts. The rocket pods would be places on the outside, not the inside, like what was shown. The smoke from the rockets can affect the engines negatively.
After seeing this mission, there is no way that you can convince me that a F-35 would have had the same effects.

GS even gave them (for somalia) advanced SAM units...
Since the F35 didn't exist in at the time of the Battle of Mogadishu, that's a safe bet. However, that was also around 30 years ago so a lot has changed.

My father was so close to being put into that mission, if you’ve seen the movie, the man on the table bleeding out from an artery in his leg was my fathers roommate. He was incredibly lucky to not be drafted in, and I pay respects to everyone who lost their lives that fateful day and night

The gun run was so flawlessly A-10 from the causal tone to the sounds from the ground angle. Hearing that turbine scream and seeing the flares like "hey guys I got you covered" hits a OIF/OEF era vibe.

The movie needed an A-10 scene instead of MH-6 imo.
The historical real event used MH6s to insert operators precisely on the rooftops. The “AH6 “were able to keep cycling for CAS for the next 18 hours.

I live in San Jose area California and flights of f35s come in to land often. They are so loud. I can hear them inside and rush outside to see them.

Man, you know your shit. One A-10 and a couple of Apaches (independent of op orders and without comm links) decimated the OPFORs and attained tactical control of the entire engagement area with relative ease. Damn good run.
Please do a scenario like Blackhawk Down where the copter comes down in a city. Much more difficult to use the A-10. A real challenge.
BHD would have ended the same way because eventually the A10 would go Winchester and the Sammis would have just kept coming.

You should start doing some of these types of mission using the F35 since it's supposed to take on the A10s missions in the future.
Please do a CAS mission in the JF-17 with it APWKS missiles
Since we got f-4 i recommend to simulate a H3 operation. That should be so tough and enjoyable.
My step Dad was a combat medic serving in the Army when this went down. He said he could never watch black hawk down because the memories are too much.

As a ground pounder with 31 years in the Army, I can tell you no one in the Air Force got more love from us than the A-10 drivers!

Hello man, yes I will always put the links for mission in the video descriptions (can't guarantee how long they stay up but I do my best) if you ever see me not sharing a mission its because I can't either I'm not allowed to share the mission by the mission creator, or there are assets or mods in the mission that I'm not allowed to distribute due to licensing issues, but whenever I can share I will.

The battle of mogadishu was already one sided as hell.
The rangers, Delta, and 10th mountain, and 160th SOR, inflicted casualties FAR out of proportion to their numbers,
While sustaining casualties way below what should have been expected considering the disparity in numbers.
a Hog (or the AC130, THAT WAS REQUESTED) orbiting the battle area would have been... excessive
if they actualy fired shots (the Somalis may not have gotten as bold if there had been heavy armed assets above...)
Be cool to see same scenario in city environment. Possible?
