El Ten Eleven...greatest music ever. Been listening to you guys for over a decade and still never cease to make me fall in love with you every time I hear anything you two make.
It doesn't matter whether a song consists of simplistic or complex riffs. It's the music itself. The sounds. Close your eyes and just fucking listen to it. How does it make you feel? You either like it or don't. I love it.
I really love this band, and that was the first time I listened to that track, it was awesome, the fact that that much sound comes from two guys is wild
People below don't know how to appreciate what El Ten Eleven is going for.. The vamping, repetition and somewhat simplistic melodies are all part of the charm.
Can't wait till they shut shit down in San Francisco this weekend! I discovered them when I lived in Columbus and just caught wind tonight that they are playing @ the Rickshaw Stop on Friday. It shall be an epic night!!!
It's not about how technical they play but whether they make something interesting and enjoyable, which they certainly pull off. They put on a great show live!
working with loopers without a click track in the headphones for the drummer is a tad challenging, but the beat is straightforward as are the riffs/licks being played on bass/guitar. looping is an acquired skill, but i see this technique as craft more than art - although the vision so see these lines is not unpleasant. switching off the looper playing the same lines and then slowing down at the end is brilliant. composing by layering keeps the same progression, but adds and removes textures. its very fun to see them do it live. post rock by these guys seems to have no effects save loop/delays/distortion, so it's a clean/sparse weave that thickens, then thins out.
Actually Kristian revealed that now he has entire control over the looper, his and Tim's so they are on time with no mistakes. If you search for old videos you can see sometimes there isn't matching between what Kristian and Tim play. Even now they have some mistakes live but as you said, looping is a very hard skill to acquire. I want to buy a loop station but first I gotta learn everything about it.
Hmmm...this is OK I guess. Technically, they're not really playing anything very impressive, and I see a lot of this looping and effects driven music these days, and most of it is mediocre at best. If you REALLY want to see how it's done, check out Theresa Andersson's "Oh Mary" Live at La Petit, or Andrew Bird's "Imitosis".
@wearesuarez that's funny because i actually don't lizten to the beatlez, lol. and zure, pleaze call me a hipzter. it's a ztep up from whatever you are, lolz0rzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
wow you're so into minimalistic, and simple, and soulful, i could name 5 artists right now that play with even more simple sequences and would knock this guys head off, and they don't even have 5K views on their videos... it's not about the complexity of the pieces, it's about the talent, and this guys have no talent
Still as great today in 2023 as it was 11 years ago
The fact that its only them two makes me love this band a whole lot more!
I'm listening to this track for nine years or something and still not tired of it. It's such an amazing music. So simple and so beautiful.
El Ten Eleven...greatest music ever. Been listening to you guys for over a decade and still never cease to make me fall in love with you every time I hear anything you two make.
Gotta love El Ten Eleven. See them live, it's totally worth it.
They just finished their set at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club. Still tight.
Props to the drummer for keeping a perfect tempo while playing solo and off that drum pad. It's tricky when there is no physical feedback
tim's a fucking beast
This song always reminds me of when I fell in love. That violin bow riff. :) amazing, and inspiring.
RalphyMcSuperfly called an e bow
@@joshhoffstein2340 nah mate that’s an actual bow
WOW!!! I didn't expect 2 guys to sounds good, but this was amazing.

I love it.
I've listened/watched this exact video probably 20+ plus and after each time it's done...I want to watch it again...

I really love this band, and that was the first time I listened to that track, it was awesome, the fact that that much sound comes from two guys is wild
I've fallen flat on my face in love with this band. It's the best feeling.

Man...I never thought that this is how he played it O_O
Beautiful :,)
this is awesome
I hate when people say el ten eleven are "what evers" and recomend another artist but that other artist isnt what u quiet expect!
couldn't have said it any better i think.
They are, but limitations are often how people achieve their greatest creativity.
An avid loop user :) how refreshing
1:13 I met her in a club down in old Soho...
When he took out the bow I was like "all riggght!"
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤❤
amaazing!
Dude the bow!
playing the bass with a bow is pretty cool sounding
This is good.

loving the guibass
Anyone else notice the "first" bassline is more or less identical to the bassline of the intro to King Crimson's "Frame By Frame"?
@wearesuarez i think your Z key is stuck or you're just fixated on the idea that substituting Z for S is cool in some way?
long live leftys!
I have trouble walking in a straight line, how do these guys keep all those lines in motion?
00:42
great
this is what it feels like to chew 5 gum.
Yunk
I can't wait till I'm 21 so I can ACTUALLY GO to one of their shows.... All their Salt Lake shows are 21+.... soooooooo frustrating...........
It's been 5 years. I hope you already went to their gigs.
6 years now
Fuck... yeah !
Please tell me how He loops simultaneously without recording over his already existing loops? does he use two guitar amps or an a/b type thing?
Very original
Kristian needs to get a double bass. That would be amazing.
if they were 10 years younger they would be the hipster flagship
holy shit
those fast beats he does double stroke roll on one hand?
Double neck guitar bass, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
Is he bowing on a double-necked bass guitar? And I thought they were cool on Pandora.
0:40
the song that got me into them, fuck
music.
Sounds like Mogwai. I like.
:O =standard reaction
13 dislikes??? But why???
that's awesome man... to think.. those sounds came from only 2 men, a guitar, a loop machine and drums...
i like the part where he plays the bass and guitar at the same time
i literally said wtf when he started playing both at once
Old ladies downstairs not digging the bass vibes, but I am
@SteezSandwich overdubs and multiple loopers it looks like
they should do a live with ratatat
This is OK. Check out Phil Keaggy.
@wearesuarez not sure why you're bashing on others' music tastes. also, don't think you know what defines being a hipster
called a double neck guitar bass :)
dan tosh on drums
kristain probly has to buy new strings every week
I found Waldo...
This guy isn't playing bass, he's playing low guitar.
quadraphenia

this duo makes dredg seem like a bunch of cripples lol
you must ride in some cool elevators
Lol, oh yeah? Well that's a bummer you can't enjoy them, then.
@chrislarson15 Sorry, I'm not a fan of them. They do showcase quite a bit of talent, but I'm personally not to fond of their music.
Six people suck so far...

aww man i wasted my time :(
