My best friend showed me this video when it was first uploaded. We were in high-school. Since then we were both hooked on el ten eleven. He passed away in 2013. This band and song has a very deep meaning to me. I miss him so much to this day. A part of my childhood died with him. The sound of this band today brings me home and reconnects us. I wish he could of heard their new stuff. Thank you El Ten Eleven. RIP Alex.
i remember this exact video had around 10,000 views 6 years ago when i was just entering high school as a freshman. man looking back at it all, i wish i went outside more and didnt sit on my computer like a potato
Why would I want to go outside when it is 3 at night, freezing outside, and I'm hibernating because it's the middle of winter. I guarantee you wouldn't call me a potato to my face. My claws are long enough to open up a can of tuna with ease. "You can talk hot on the internet boy, that's that goofy shit, we ain't in to that boy." - Tekashi
Got to Wicker Park fest just in time to catch this track.... great song, and even greater live! Chicago is amazing. Stranger or friend, everyone was dancing together. It was a beautiful summer evening and I couldn't have been happier.
Man did this get me through some hard times a decade ago. I can totally relate to this guy solely through his music. I get it man. It's all good. We made it.
Can't believe I haven't heard of these guys before! This is beautiful. I bought the album and the whole thing is just as great. Sad to see them struggle. If you enjoy their music, please buy it! We need to help out the people who's music we love.
Here’s the poem they named the song after: Traveling through the dark I found a deer dead on the edge of the Wilson River road. It is usually best to roll them into the canyon: that road is narrow; to swerve might make more dead. By glow of the tail-light I stumbled back of the car and stood by the heap, a doe, a recent killing; she had stiffened already, almost cold. I dragged her off; she was large in the belly. My fingers touching her side brought me the reason- her side was warm; her fawn lay there waiting, alive, still, never to be born. Beside that mountain road I hesitated. The car aimed ahead its lowered parking lights; under the hood purred the steady engine. I stood in the glare of the warm exhaust turning red; around our group I could hear the wilderness listen. I thought hard for us all-my only swerving-, then pushed her over the edge into the river.
i just discovered this band 2 days ago... through the movie Helvetica.. and I am glad I came across you guys... exploring your music is fun... thanks for such awesome melodies guys!!! keep rocking...
I feel you, I spend a year in Tennessee with my family and I'll be back in Germany soon. Probably I won't see a lot of my friends here again, I feel like music is the only thing that can make me feel a little bit better about that, especially this song. Thanks for this song!
these guys are amazing! Liked their music so much I went and bought both their cds... ps.. Helvetica documentary wouldn't have worked so perfectly without their music!..
i went to go see el ten at a bar and ordered a beer when i got there before they played, and tim fogarty (the drummer) was standing right beside me in the crowded bar and no one knew who he was but me and i lost it and we bullshitted for a bit and i got a pic with him and i finally asked why he wasnt in the back and he said because they ran out of beer in the VIP room. coolest dude ever and sickest show.
It doesn't even matter that their is only two of them.. that may make people believe that it is somehow better.. to me it is simply a beautiful piece of music.
Discovered these guys on pandora. Wow! What an amazing drummer. To be able to keep up with PERFECT timing along with a delay repeater for guitar is pretty amazing. Double neck guitar/bass is cool shit too!
I had I similarly awesome experience where was stranded at the gig after the show and I got to helpe them load out, and they gave me a ride to my apartment(it was on the way to their hotel) and we talked about life, it was one of the best nights of my life.
These guys rock, saw them last night at the Bug Jar in Rochester, sadly equipment malfunction during my only swerving, they played some new stuff, amazing
it brought tears of blissful astonishment to my eyes. i felt a resonance cascade wash over my every being, punctuated with an exclamation of harmonized synchronicity. fuck yes.
FUCKING WOW WOW WOW!!! These guys are my new favorite band right now! I am in awe! This music is so beautiful, so amazing, so mind blowing. This is music is unreal. I LOVE EL TEN ELEVEN SO SO SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!
Wow. Watching the music making process here has blown my mind just a bit. I had always presumed that this type of music was layered track-by-track after recording individual parts, or played by a lot of people. Two guys doing it on the fly? Damn.
Amazing guys. Most stimulating band live i have ever scene. They had so much to say using no words. It makes me sick to see them struggle, they decided not to sell there soul. But for that, they dont get enough people to support them and make such great music but also have kids to feed. Its a tough dance to maintain.
Here in 2020, I randomly remembered this one of my favorite songs from long ago.
Nah im 2024 gang

That moment you realized only two people were playing this masterpiece! 🙀

Got to Wicker Park fest just in time to catch this track.... great song, and even greater live! Chicago is amazing. Stranger or friend, everyone was dancing together. It was a beautiful summer evening and I couldn't have been happier.

Can't believe I haven't heard of these guys before! This is beautiful. I bought the album and the whole thing is just as great. Sad to see them struggle. If you enjoy their music, please buy it! We need to help out the people who's music we love.
good to see nice comments about these guys, they are notoriously nice and down to earth.
