Thank you. I watched a shorter video which didn't clearly show how to put the replacement belt around the tensioner/pulley - you showed me how to do it. The wife is happy and I can watch some football now - cheers mate!
You have demonstrated the way to make a “how to” video. Straight to the point. Clear instructions. Perfect camera angles. Easy to hear/understand audio. Great job, thank you!!
Thank you so much. Your video didn't skip any steps and you didn't assume anything that I didn't or did know. Highlight of my life being able to fix my own dryer.
I probably could’ve done it myself, but I went ahead and hired a handyman. Got it done for $50 not a bad deal of me and thank you so much for the video. It’s very helpful and like you said easy Peezy.
You Da Man! Now my wife can do laundry again. Yippeeeeee!!!!! Now that it works, I don't have to sleep on the sofa No More! You know what they say, Happy Wife, Happy Life!!! Thanks again for your help it was well explained, direct yet thorough. Have a good weekend.
I was drying a load of clothes and heard the dryer motor huming. I opened the dryer door and the drum turned to easily by hand. It is almost 11:00 pm so I'll go to bed and sleep on your perfect instructions. It most likely has a broken belt. I will also check the drum roller and drum felt before I go to a Whirlpool dealrer for Parts... I gave you a thumbs up and I subscribed. Thank you and God Bless.
Thanks so much for the video. I replaced my belt about six months or so ago, but it apparently came undone and actually started falling apart today, so I'm back at replacing it again. I needed a refresher course on how to do this.
There’s a good chance the bearings in those rollers inside are dry,,,lube them with white lithium grease spray or maybe the newer WD-40 specialist spray,,,do not use regular WD-40 lube,,,don’t spray any surface the belt rides on them,,, if you can’t afford or can’t find white lithium grease spray or WD-40 specialist spray you could probably get by for a while with oil 10W-30 or three in one household oil something along those lines you could use a small paintbrush to try and get the oil into the bearings the best you can work them around by hand a few times.
You the man! Well explained. Just replace mine following your instructions. For those without a putty knife wife, I used a stainless steel cooking spatula.
I had a different problem, but this was super helpful! I had a decking screw stuck in the felt lining of the door. Sounded like a loose belt but it was not!
Thank you so much. This video was very helpful with replacing my dryer belt, and pulley. I wasn't sure how the belt was attached to the pulley, and your video was very easy to understand. Thanks again.
Great video. Perfect step by step instructions with great camera work. Thanks for saving me money or at the very least a whole lot of time. I appreciate it! My local Lowe's had the part so I fixed it on a Sunday!
Thank you for posting your video it allowed me to change the belt that has broken also my pulie had broken as well, the the video allowed me to follow along great angles thank you😊
Another good idea is to take you a can of that white lithium spray grease in a spray can shake it up real good spray it a few times outside or something and then bring it in and spray the rollers(when I say rollers I mean the bearings in the rollers don’t spray any surface the belt itself rides on) because when the bearings get dry in them it’ll make it harder to turn that makes the belts snap. You might get by with the new WD-40 specialist sprays that lubricate do not use regular WD-40 spray because regular WD-40 will strip what little bit lubrication those bearings might have left in them and make it even worse
I have a 35 year old Kenmore that I recently changed the belt on for the first time. If it helps anyone instead of clips on the bottom of the front panel there were 5/16" screws just like on the top of the front panel but they are on the outside of the cabinet. You do not need, or want to remove those screws, just loosen them so that you can pull the panel upwards after removing the top screws. Also, for the life of me I don't know why but there are two different belts for these dryers, one is for a 27" wide model and one is for a 29" wide model. The belt for the 27 inch has the exact same dimensions as the 29 inch belt and also the same number of ribs but it costs quite a bit more. I've asked around why this is but no one seems to know the answer, not even a manufacturer I asked that sells replacement belts. Same exact belt dimensions, different part number, different price.
Hey man great video. I replaced the wheels and belt but it will not spin when i put at least half a laundry load. The belt snapped twice. It’ll take a couple of garments but when its at least half full it will not spin appropriately. It stalls and i can smell the belt burning. The right wheel spins but it wont rotate it just stalls.
At 74 years old it took less than 20 minutes to put the belt on. I had ordered a belt years ago for my last dryer. The only thing I do differently is I set the dryer at about 45 degrees so I am not fighting the drum.
Ohblah my dryers squeeling like crazy , i have whirlpool frontload , i can get my hand in the front by removing bottom front cover and i can tell its the idler pulley , i reached in and adjusted it and it worked again for 1 load thrn back to squeeking im pretty sure the spacers or plastic triangle locks broken , anyhow i just ordered parts off amazon New idler pully triangle spacer locks Belt and motor pulley attachement all for $50 Unfortuantly looks like im gonna have to go in from the back and dont think i need to replace belt but hoping i dont need to take drum off to replace idler Thanks for the video ill be rewatching once i get parts delivered
That was a awesome video of explaining what you was doing and how to do it thank you sir but.can I ask you a question sir?? I the belt is on and the tub is not turning but you can turn it with your hands what could that be name of the dryer is a whirlpool U3 that was the only number on it the sticker was pulled off of it thank you
how much tension should be on the belt? I'm able to pull on it some and it has some slack. Not loose enough to come right off but judging from any belt on a pulley I.e. a car I've always heard there should be good tension. Of course a dryer isn't a car but I would think it should be nice nice and snug??
@@applianceflipper8590i think he means the teeth onto the bottom of the dryer with the pulley. I’m having the same issue can’t get them to stay in there as I’m trying to push the belt through and over on top of the other pulley.
Great video! I appreciate the way you explained explained everything and filmed each step!! Your camera angles were perfect!
Thanks the belt replacement gets confusing from time to time

Do you have the belt on right the rubber part of belt should be on the drum the fabric part should not.

It should be nice and snug make sure the pulley is mounted correctly and the belt is the right size.
I replaced the belt and the new belt keeps slippimg off. Do I need to replace the pulley? Thank you..
Make sure it's the right belt. Is the belt snug on the drum?
I love you right now
I'm glad it worked for you.
Took the mystery out. The only thing you missed is replacing rollers which were included in “kit” otherwise great, thanks!
I have a roller replacement video. You're welcome
😊
Mine just broke so I could do it myself ?
Yeas easy peasy
You should have took the Duct out and make sure their is not anything in the duct.
This is a how to replace a belt video not checking the duct video.
I can not get those clips to push in
.
Which clips? What is the time on the video are you talking about?
