My favorite part is when he is able to show us how to loop the belt around the tensioner and onto the motor. The way he got that perfect camera angle with adequate lighting....astounding! Well done sir. May the algorithm put your video to the top.

I’m a 28 year old female who lost her dad about 5 years ago. Father’s Day is coming up and this video helped so much instead of paying someone or buying a new dryer. Wish my dad was here to help, but I know he’d be proud of me doing this by myself. Thanks for all the help from a 90s baby who desperately needed this!

Great clear instructions. Perhaps the most important real world part of this video was showing the hideous multi year lint accumulation that has to be cleaned before doing the belt replacement. I was horrified how much lint crap had accumulated inside my drier that posed a real fire hazard that i had never appreciated. It took me several hours to clean out the body in addition to the ~20 minute actual belt replacement. I diligently always cleared my lint screen after each use, but the lint piles I found inside shocked me. Thank goodness my belt broke and forced me to clean out this fire hazard lint that had accumulated after years of use. All other videos I watched showed well dressed salesmen replacing the belt of a new drier with ultra clean insides. This real world video is the best and serves as a wake up call to alert everyone of the need for yearly drier inside lint cleaning.

I watched it a few days ago and you made me feel like this was something we could handle at home so I ordered a new belt from amazon. My husband disassembled it last night but was stuck at work today when the belt came. I vacuumed it all out.....made almost $5 😆....and followed you step by step. I enlisted my 8 year old to hold the drum while I put the front back on and boom its done! I was a crane operator at a scrap yard. A customer came in with a stake body truck full of washers, dryers and dishwashers. His 13 year old son was unloading the truck by himself. When I went to talk to the driver, his son rocked the last dryer off. When it hit the ground, change fell out. After he picked up the change and was getting ready to leave, I told him, he wasn’t done yet, but to wait a second. I got in the crane and took the dryer apart. When I got back to him, he was still getting change from the dryer. The next day, I asked the driver how much did I his son get. $18.

This video just saved me so much money! My fiance was dead set on calling a repairman to fix this, but I convinced him we should at least try. Belt wasn’t even broken, the tension piece just popped off. Made my whole day being able to do this!!

Appreciate the vid, me and my lady just fixed ours. When I searched how to replace a dryer belt, yours was the 1st video to pop up and you did not disappoint. Our dryer looks similar to yours, and the only hard part imo, was getting the tension from the pulley to the motor. Once we got that and the front plate back on, she ran good as new!

Great video! I was going to go into the back. Saved me a lot of time trying to do it wrong. I watched four videos. This was the first video I watched and was the best.

Sorry, got click happy. Only two things missing here. One is to check the wheels and belt tensioner before you order parts. The other is to test run before you lock the top down.
      Other than that, A+

Mr. Fixer- After watching many other videos I found this video and after watching it a few times I was able to situate the tensioner around the small end of the motor and buttoned up the rest and my dryer has been running like a champ.

Thank you so much for this! I was able to take my entire dryer apart and find the problem (the belt, as I suspected) in under 30 minutes including digging out my tools 😂. Your instructions are clear, concise and easy to understand! Maybe you can show us how to diagnose issues in chest freezers next 😭.

My Kenmore dryer seems to be even older than yours, but it's put together nearly the same and the motor still works fine. I spent $9 on a new belt and I followed your excellent step-by-step instructions. You gave me confidence to do it myself -- it was a lot easier to replace than I thought. Thanks a lot!

The video I wish I had found first! The point of view, sound quality, etc all so much better than what I first found - made it easy to understand and follow. I only wish I had found as much money as you in mine! 😂😂

Thanks! My dryer is a Kenmore, and over 20 years old, so I thought my tensioner would be similar… it wasn’t (no wheel.. just a half loop) but watching you fox yours helped me see the mechanics of it and I figured out how mine worked because I saw how yours did. Thanks for the tips. Honestly the way you balanced the drum with the bounty box was crucial to seeing how I could do it myself without having someone else hold it up( I used an old detergent bottle).

$400 dollars or more saved!🤑 My inherited old ass dryer is a whirlpool but it looks EXACTLY like this one inside/out. Yesterday I noticed the clothes I put in were still not dry after 2 full cycles. that's when I realized the drum was not spinning. My first thought was ugh.... I gotta go to the laundrymat in the morning and finish the laundry and then gotta see how to scrounge up $400 to $600 for a new dryer. I have never done anything like this before. I watched this video... picked up a $14 dryer belt and a $3 ratchet from harbor freight. he even tells you in the video what size! I just finished the repair this morning and my clothes are drying as I type this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thank you for this video. I never thought I could do something like this, and thought I would have to buy a new dryer to replace this 20 year old model. But I gave it a try. You made it so easy. My tensioner didn't have a wheel, but it was so smooth I figured the belt just rubs along it smoothly. It did and all is good.

So grateful for clear how-to videos like this. It turns out our dryer is nearly 22 years old (had to look up the serial number to find a compatible belt). We hate to scrap an appliance just because one part fails. Thanks to this video, our old dryer can live on a little longer until we pull the trigger on a new heat pump model!

Thank you. You saved me about $250! Easy as pie to fix. My tensionor was a little different design, but the principle was the same. I had a friend hold up the drum, and that helped as I attached the belt to the motor. Flashlight comes in handy.
