This was my first time doing this. I watched 3 videos on the subject, and yours was the most helpful! I'm sure you saved me at least $150 service call. I spent $10.00 on the part, and when I cleaned out the lint under the drum, I found almost $4.00 in change! So thank you!

First timer here; thank you for the detailed explanation and the money savings. Did it for $17 bucks and working great. You should also let people know based on the age of their dryer to clean and vacuum it out really good while open. Mine was filthy, but this should be self explanatory when any person looks in and sees all that dust and crud:)

I've had this very model for twenty years, and replaced the drive belt four times, yet I always forget how to run the belt round the pulleys. Your video, at the four-minute mark, gave me that crucial refresher. Thanks.

Thank you so much! Because it is a Labor Day weekend, I contacted several people, ready to pay up to $100, and not one of them replied to me. Knowing I would have to wait at least 2 days with stinky clothes, I decided to look on UA-cam and do it myself. I found yours and that Whirlpool is very close to mine and the only problem I had was getting the front cover back on, a few hard paper-cut like scratches by holding that, but I eventually got it! All thanks to you!

Just wanted to say thank you for having such clear and complete instructions. I did a search on UA-cam, and watched several videos on how to replace a broken belt. Different models, different brand names, but essentially the same job on video after video. Yours was the fifth one I watched, but was the only one to mention which side of the belt goes towards the drum, and had the clearest and best lit view of the idler/tensioner installation.

Thanks for this vid, I have a 1998 KEYS750 and her belt broke the other day. Ordered genuine belt + idler. When I took everything apart, the cause for belt fail was obvious.. the generic plain (non-rotating) idler! Your vid let me take mine down to where I could replace it all, and she's drying her first post-fix load right now. Thanks for saving me the $ and inconvenience of having to get a repair person out here! I used a broom handle on top of the dryer with twine looped around the front of the drum, to hold everything in place while I threaded the belt and then hung the door frame. She runs so smooth and quiet now! (she came with the house, I didn't know about the duff idler on it)

Your video covered everything. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to your instructions to _lift_ the front panel when removing, and I snapped the clips. After replacing those everything went well. My wife helped with putting the front panel back on; made it very easy.
I'm impressed w/ the completeness and efficiency of your video; you provide exactly what is needed w/ no redundant commentary or other distractions.
My only recommendation to others is simply to pay attention to everything in the video and you shouldn't have any problems at all.
    Excellent work, thank you.

i love how clean everything is in this video! we just moved into our new home yesterday, and the washer and dryer came with the house. the dryer had been making some really terrible noises, and i was just thinking i needed to open it up when the noises stopped. and the drum stopped turning. i instantly figured it was the belt, and when i opened it up, the belt had indeed snapped. it looked like it had been wearing for quite a while, as there was black dust EVERYWHERE in addition to the regular dust and lint that typically build up in a unit that's been neglected for who knows how long. my belt should arrive in a couple of days, and it looks like it should be a straightforward repair. thanks for the video!

The day after I ordered this (Thursday) I found out a local store had them so I picked one up just in case what I ordered was wrong. On Saturday (today) your belt came and yes it is perfect, identical to the genuine Whirlpool part I bought locally. Nice to know I have a supplier for REAL parts, not counterfeits you often find at the "big A" store.

Thank you! Replaced the belt on my Whirlpool WED7000DW2 (Cabrio) dryer following these instructions. I especially appreciate the details about how to properly route the belt around the idler pulley and how to tension it during replacement. This was actually covered incorrectly in another video. Good advice on not letting the screws fall, but my clips into which those screws went would also pop off when replacing the front - but can be grabbed with a little finagling. This made the process pleasant.

This video helped immensely. My Whirlpool dryer has a slightly different configuration however I got it to work. The white pulley Down Below on my Whirlpool does not exist. Instead there is a metal piece sort of in the shape of a crescent. It took me a bit to figure it out but basically you create a small Loop with the belt and push it through the metal tensioner below the crescent and wrap the loop around the motor. I also did not undo the connector to the front door I just pushed it off to the side with it still connected.

    Blond girl adventures in DIY:
I didn't have the round white idler. I found a weird half metal one in my dryer, and ended up removing the drum and trying to hunt down a missing piece. Eventually I caught on and figured it out.
The clear images and step by step instruction in this video are great, but I would have loved it if you'd included instructions on how to separate the dryer door switch. I couldn't get it apart, so I unscrewed the whole thing 'till the job was done.
Front of the dryer was HARD to get back on.
All that being said, you still saved me from paying a repair person; plus I found 76 cents. I still don't know where all the missing socks have gone though.

I don't know if this dryer is a newer model or what but I did not have a white pulley belt tensioner. Mine was just a piece of plastic the belt would rub against. I spent some time looking for a part that didn't exist. Since my belt was already broken when I opened it there was no way to note the way it was put on in the first place. With a different tensioner mechanism, I sorta had to figure that out on my own. I cut my finger trying to get that switch to the door to separate! I ended up using two pairs of plyers to unplug them. I am glad to have the video, but it was much more difficult than it appears.

Thanks for your help. Very clear, non stressful instructions. Mission accomplished with very minor problems (little clips on door fell off - I taped them in place).

Thanks for the clear instructions & good video. This saved me over $100. I got the belt for 9 bucks & found $7.20 in change in the front panel.😂

well in fact i tried to relace it, but my dryer is a little different than yours,I was able to lift the top to see that in fact the belt is broken, i am going to have my corner handyman from the hard ware store do it, and for only 30 dollars, he has experience doing them

Thanks so much for this video. I tried watching a few others but the angle of the camera made it so their hands were blocking what they were doing. Yours was great!

Did you notice the leading edge is male on the appliance and the technician. The actual use of the appliance is questionable.

    Hi Norbel,
Thanks for your question! This is the closest video we have to your model, but some of our customers with your model who've experienced a similar problem suggest laying the dryer on its back for easier replacement. After placing the new belt around the drum, you can insert the belt (try folding it) through the idler pulley, and then insert the pulley into the dryer floor. The belt will bring the pulley upright when inserted correctly.
    Does that help at all?

Didn't see the discount coupon till after I'd already placed my order, but I'm cool cuz getting the right parts and in less than Forty-Eight hours. Especially considering I didn't place the order till after 11 p.m. last night. Thanks to these videos, my autistic son is able to watch them at 2x speed, his norm, fully understanding it all. I will definitely be telling friends about you guys. 🌞💨🌈✌️
