Just search "plasma cutter consumables" and you will see loads of listings.
Hello Ben, could you tell me, How did you connect the air compressor?
@@markopolo5695 On this unit there is a standard quick connect that accepts the quick connect from my air compressor. Can't remember if I had to buy anything for it.

Congrats on the 1000 subs Benedict, awesome job on the review of the plasma cutter.
Cheers! It isn't as accurate as your plasma cutter, but it is smaller.
Thanks for that demo my friend, going to hit lidl now as they have the 40amp version on sale in Dublin stores for €119.00,thanks against 👍
Yes, they do, and it cuts thicker material. Note though that you will need a seperate cable and/or extension for the compressor probably as you will draw more than 13 amps.

thanks for the information regarding consumables I am now going to buy the parkside plasma cutter as I know I can get replacements Derek
I am pleased to have been able to help.
If you are buying it in Ireland they will also have consumables on sale on Thursday.

What a great tool to have.I need a plasma cutter for my garage.I cut everything with a grinder.
It is.... But alas Lidl don't operate in the USA so I suspect that you'll pay more than $110 which would be the equivalent price. You also need a decent compressor as well.
Great video and information on the plasma cutter.
Cheers!
Thanks for the update maye
Cheers
Yes I think your compressor needs upgrading but you did great in this video ,like a pro . Well done sir . I subbed your channel by the way great stuff.😁
Many thanks, I am very grateful. Yes the compressor needs an upgrade, I borrowed it from work where it is used to blow the dust out of computers. It has several issues which don't affect that job but make it a pain to use for this. I am waiting till the big compressor turns up at Lidl for £99.99 as that seems a good pick.
Attention, it seems that Parkside released a new model, B3, so if you recently bought your cutter, you need completely different consumables. Ask me how i know. :)
The new one is different, not sure about how or why the consumables are so different though.

Excellent, that worked really well - sure it's not a full on pro machine but at that price it's great. I had a look in my local Lidl but they'd sold out - saves the temptation anyway!!!!!
The next cheapest I could find was £160, so it is an absolute bargain.
I've worked with plasma cutters that cost upwards of ten grand . It's only worth buying a machine that cost a lot if your getting paid for the work and you can make the money back.
Look how much he paid for the consumables 9.99 . If that were a machine like a hypertherm it would cos upwards of £130 for consumables .
This little machine is great for the hobbyist and and it's cheap to run
The 3 year warranty is fantastic
Some cheeky eBay sellers are selling these for £180 . They bought them all for profit . No wonder you couldn't get one . He did great in this video . Progress.
Many thanks! The people profiteering like that on eBay are like ticket touts. Irritating. When I suspect something I want will sell out quick I turn up very early. Too often I have left it till my lunch break and they have sold out.
@@BensWorkshop I got to lidle at 10 minutes past opening time and there was only one available so I pounced on it .once it was in my trolley I pushed it with pride all the way to the till only stopping for some beer 🍺
On eBay you can a 210 piece consumables kit sometimes for 20 or 30 pound but they come from China so a 2 or three weeks wait is needed .
Yes, mine was one of two available. Not everything sells that way, but I was early for the track saw too which is also great value and sells very quickly. (There is an issue with getting the blade off but I have done a video on that).
There are all sorts of consumable deals for that size of plasma cutter. Mine was on Amazon Prime, ordered Thursday afternoon, arrived Friday.
Many thanks for these kind of videos...
I just hope if u can make zoom on materials you work on, to see the quality of tools in action...
Thank you again.
Thank you for the feedback, I will try to bear that in mind.

Nice job 👍🏻 and good video👍🏻
Thank you, Boneyard
good review mate i allways find the parkside stuff quite good depends on what your doing with it. it made light work of the steal lol anyway at 80 pounds its not bad
Cheers!
Well done mate
Cheers! And it looks neater than if I had chewed it! :)
it seems to work better draging it and the square helps
Seems so. A guide really does help.
You have reached 1000 subscribers Benedict 👍
I have indeed, passed it yesterday.
Cutting metal with plasma in a wood shed full of wood scrap ... Pretty epic! 😁
A friend of mine used to live in a timber framed forge, which never caught light either. That was built in the 13th century. Wood doesn't burn easily, which is why fires need starting, with things like kindling and tinder. All that sort of material is cleared up shortly after it gets on the concrete floor.
Great video . What size compressor would you need and what make
Not sure I can give a best recommendation as I borrowed one with a fault. I am fairly certain that the Lidl Parkside 24 litre one will do, as I know someone who has that combination. As I want to use air tools I am waiting for the 50 litre one.
Hope that helps.

it looks good be ideal for working on car body work. do you think with a bigger compressor you can cut thicker metal? its a good review many thanks.
The thickest it says you could cut is 9mm steel. I think you may get up to half inch but you would need a lot of patience. I suspect a bit of practice and a compressor without a leak from its regulator would work better.
As for car body work I'd probably prefer a nibbler, review due shortly.

thanks for the reply look forward for the next review.
Hopefully out tomorrow or at the latest Wednesday.
There's a hitch with the nibbler video, my current compressor isn't up to the job of driving it so that review will have to wait until Lidl have their large compressor in stock.
For god sake tidy up and make the area safe👍
The area is safe. Thank you for your concern.
Nice time this is in lidl I'm gonna get and connect it upto a cnc machine, see what damage can be done
They will not have it back in for a while, they rotate the middle of Lidl.

Ah... Soz... I see your typo. Next time.... Yes. I am waiting to see if they get their big compressor and 4 in 1 welder. I have just about everything else they do that I think I could use.
Lol I'm the same I've all their tools I need bar a lathe and plasma cutter... I think it an addiction 😁😁
I have 2 lathes... :)
Thats just greed and I'm jealous lol
I'm between the lidl metal bandsaw and the plasma. What is better value?
Tricky question to answer. The bandsaw will but bar, the plasma cutter will not.
The plama cutter can cut long distances, but you will need to clean the edges. You also need a compressor which you don't with the bandsaw.
However, I find it quite hard to get straight cuts with the bandsaw and the internal light failed too.
Hope that helps. Please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!
@@BensWorkshop the new plasma cutters come with an integrated compressor
That's interesting. Not sure how much I'd like that. Have you got a link?
@@BensWorkshop I just saw it in the lidl magasine
Which is that in?
Do you let the tip ride the surface or hold it a few mm above??
I think you should get just above the surface, but I don't think it is a problem to have it ride the surface. It does work a lot better if you follow a template.
Many thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!
@@BensWorkshop I have same unit,,, it struggled a bit today,,, 3mm stainless
@@marmac567 It should not struggle with 3mm stainless. Have you checked that you are getting enough air pressure and current?
@@BensWorkshop max amps and 45psi
@@marmac567 I managed to cut 6mm easily so there is something odd going on. Is it earthed properly?
What size of compressor is needed?
Thank you for watching, I believe the 24ltr Lidl one (or similar) will do the job, (I used a similar sized one to do this demonstration) though I am waiting for the larger 50ltr one to drive air tools as well.
Hope that helps, please like and share, and if you like the channel, subscribe.
@@BensWorkshop Thank you
A pleasure!
Maybe you should think about wearing a mask/keeping that door open/ventilation? The fumes created by such machines are very dangerous to your health.
There were windows open and I did open the door.
@@BensWorkshop I'm using mine just outside my garage/under a car port so far, best to be on the safe side if you can.
Yes, though how toxic the fumes are depends on the metals. The worst will be things like stainless steel and anything zinc plated.
you are mad plasma cutting in a wood shed on a wood bench
You are the first person to notice the wooden table, but no, if you think wood is that flammable, I have a bridge to sell you, it isn't. However wood shavings from planes are and I do sweep those up. The floor is made of concrete.
I also weld and solder in there too. The soldering torches I have put out a lot more heat than either a plasma cutter or a welder. (The fire brick is primarily for soldering)
