- This is my first time listener reaction to a song MANY of you have requested.. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi by Radiohead. All I can say is WOW. I can't believe I have never really listened to this band before now..
I am hooked.
Thank you to all who liked and subscribed to us, we are recording many new videos today and will be uploading them throughout the week. Please comment anything you would like to see me react to!
Thank you
Voting for their song Down is the new up
Such a beautiful song. If you want to see them live, check out literally anything from their In Rainbows "In the Basement" session. It completely elevates everything and highlights how talented a group they really are.
I completely agree! From the Basement is absolutely fantastic 💯
Fun fact: In 2008, they held a contest for animators to create a video for this track, and Tobias Stretch, who made the stop motion animation, won $10k and they used it for the music video on UA-cam. Its pretty clear why he won the contest, this video is amazing!
Oh wow thanks for the info… Such a creative interesting video. I love it. Thanks!
I actually never knew this, and am soooo excited to now know this. Thanks!!
So many great videos were submitted for that contest. It’s worth checking out the other ones for sure.
@@_CoasterNinja Thanks! I look for them.
I'm always happy when people discover Radiohead I really do look at them as my generations Beatles in a way they always evolve and hate to repeat themselves even on the same album.
Wow, I never thought of it that way... Thanks for the insight.
The bass playing on this album is incredible especially live from the basement.
This song makes you feel alone, isolated but that's a normal thing for you, I don't know, it feels like you have died living a beautiful but meaningless emptiness. as if we just live our lives like that and let it be. this is the best song and the best journey in tone and emptiness. one that has deeper feelings besides Pink Floyd. 🌼
There’s a version of this song from the “from the basement” sessions that is just mind blowing 🤯
Good to know… I will definitely need to hear that!
"You can't flood someone with emotion by going Aaaaayoooo!".
Radiohead.. "Challenge accepted!".
They are brilliant live , in rainbows live in the Basement is well worth your time .
This one is actually my favorite song by them, my favorite band... I love it. Nice reaction Sir.
My fave Radiohead song. Puts me in a trance. Thanks Ally for recommending this
You’re welcome 😄
My fav as well ❤
One of my favorites ❤
Some trivia: this was originally an orchestral piece written by Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead's guitar player (who's also classically trained and an Oscar-nominated film composer). There's a performance of it on UA-cam from 2005, with the London Sinfonietta and Thom Yorke adding the vocals. It was then rearranged for the band setting and recorded for "In Rainbows" (2007).
Wow, that is very cool! I have to check out the UA-cam performance. thanks for the info!
The list of great Radiohead songs is long.... Jigsaw Falling into Place just builds and buiilds, & Exit Music for a Film (you should know that the film was Romeo and Juliet before you listen first time) , Paranoid Android, No Surprises, How to Disappear Completely... all great.
I will definitely check those out. Thanks for the suggestions.
Jigsaw falling into place is a jem in an already incredible album. It's so good...
The absolute joy of being able to do their discography for the first time. That would be one my wishes for genie.
Aphex Twin Avril14
Will put on the list. Thanks!
Thanks for doing the video! I’ve read people saying that one guitar is playing 3/8, another in 5/8 while the drums are a constant 4/4. Interesting how it sounds good. It has a sort of oscillating vibe. I love how Radiohead use a lot of simple layering that adds a lot of depth while remaining accessible
Oh yeah, that very well could be. When you’re playing little repeated phrases like that one on top of another it makes a very interesting interplay. I’ll have to listen to that one again and see what that’s all about. Thanks.
@@ErolReacts Watch the live version from the basement it's so cool seeing them pull off these intricate songs live without studio tricks.
Good song, not something I would have heard otherwise.
Studio looks great!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed your reaction. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Glad you like it
I found this guy on Reddit.
Anyways hid children have great taste and as a musician absolutely love this channel. This is so much fun!!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Great experiencing this Radiohead journey with you. My recommendation is to abandon the videos. Some are great, but they are distracting from the musical experience. The only exception would be trying a few of the "From the Basement" series, because then you get to see the band playing the music live.
Yeah, good idea. I find the videos are so entertaining that it’s hard to focus deeply on what’s happening with the music.
I second the From The Basement recommendation!
I would also make an exception for their live performance of 'Paranoid Android' on Jools Holland's BBC show in 1997. It's astonishing.
I disagree they only add to it
Watch them preform Weird Fishes on the FROM THE BASEMENT - ua-cam.com/video/pcEJyvv6_kc/v-deo.html
The version is superior to the record cut (which is excellent). All of the from the basement is great.
Damn! So cool!
Ed O'brien only sings his name in every song EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED... EEEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEd
Hahaha! Now it all makes sense!
Just subscribed. You've got a cool channel. And this band, in particular, has a lot of really great suff out there.
Thanks!
Please listen to Nude (also from In Rainbows) and Reckoner
nice video!
I’ve had quite a few replies for that one. It’s definitely on the list.
Hard to have one favourite song, but if I had to choose, the Aaayyoos would probably make it Weird Fishes. Love your reaction. Thanks.
Thanks for the reaction! Three guitars in this one just intertwined before the breakdown and bridge. From the Basemenr has them playing this along with many other live
Thanks!
Like I said on your other video, Johnny Greenwood, best guitarist hands down, but he puts so much more into the songs. I'd highly recommend watching 'Radiohead live in the basement' King of limbs my personal favourite... but then you will see just how good they are trust me!
Will do thanks!
@@ErolReacts actually, the 'In Rainbows' session live in the basement might be more fun!
Masterpiece
Agreed!
They never, ever disappoints. Amnesiac is the toughest listen but it’s associated with the cold impersonal version of war at the time.
Thanks! Will check it out.
I love that you react and also break down the song. Very nice. You have to, at some stage, after all the Radiohead songs, which will be some time, lol, react to The Smile. It's a side band involving lead singer, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner. I saw them live back in March, amazing. They're not a million miles away from the Radiohead sound but still do their own thing. I'd bet money you'll love them. They have 2 albums out now. Both great. Thank you, Erol. Keep it up.
I just listened to "Bending Hectic". Very cool tune! Thanks!
@@ErolReacts Cool. That's one of my favourites. Those strings get intense at the end, huh!? lol.
I'd love you to react to Mogwai : mogwai fear Satan. But it's a 16 min track 😂..
Interesting… I’ll try to get to it! Fear not the long songs!
Hi Erol, in relation to this song, I would love to see your reactions to their songs “The Daily Mail” and “How to Disappear Completely”.
Or if your daughter is suggesting the songs, I guess this message is for her :)
I’m enjoying the channel, keep it up!
I’m getting so many good suggestions I can’t wait to get to hearing some more of these. Stay tuned!
Once you hit the piano I hit subscribe! Good stuff. it's always nice to see reactions to someone that knows music from the inside and not like most reaction videos that only know it from the outside.
Thanks! And on this end it's nice to be appreciated by those who "get it"!
15 step
Will check out. Thanks
Radiohead" all I need " may be?
Thanks for the suggestion. Trying to get to them all eventually!
Great! Such a beautiful song. The background vocals really do it for me! Please also Reckoner and Knives out!
Cool, thanks for the suggestion. Everybody is suggesting such great tunes.
the video was at 666 likes, but i liked it so i think you're safe from getting cursed
Thank you!
Suggestion, new artist. Something of Nine Inch Nails, perhaps ease it in with one of the more melodious tracks? "Leaving Hope" on the Still album?
You got it!
videos are cool. but turn them off. distraction to the music
Agreed!
Stick with the audio tracks. Videos are distracting!
Totally agree!
