Don’t worry, the rot thing isn’t a glitch, there’s actually an ash of war that does the same thing (poison flower blooms twice, I think it’s called), does a lot of damage if they have rot or poison, but removes the status effect
The poison flower is a really nice ash to use l. The are some other ashes that do a similar effect but with this u can apply poison with a weapon and the ashes can apply rot damage.

I KNEW IT! I've had this theory, that, the one Potentate, who Jar-Bairn talks about all the time, came from the Land of Shadows, he grew appalled from the methods that they were currently using, and left his birthplace, and arrived in the Lands Between, and created the honorable and kind Jar Culture that WE know so well, and, while searching for a far-away, safe place (hopefully), found that abandoned village, and named it Jar-Burg! OH, I forgot to put this, but, I think he had help leaving the Land of Shadows, because getting to it, and/or leave, is NOT easy, from Queen Marika, in exchange for something! Over the many millillena, this unknown Potentate's peaceful and Warrior's Honor Jar Culture became twisted by war, but, our little Jar-Bairn, talks about him to our Tarnished, and remember's him the best that he can, so what this ONE Potentate, who left his birthplace, and came to the Lands Between, to try to create something better, and his, as Jar-Bairn puts it, his "slick, slidey hands", and the "gentle way that he pats them!' MAN, I thought I was the only one who thought of that!
To anyone curious and to Doom Wolf himself, to dodge the laser thing from Metyr you need to go between the ... area of constant death around metyr and the lasers, there's a gap between where they hit and where the circle starts(it's small though)

those are some awesome build ideas! I actually plan on doing dragon communion only because I did that in the base game, maybe not soon though haha glad you liked the joke, I thought it was clever :P I might do a sekiro in elden ring video one day, so I will have to spontaneous counter with a katana lol
I did, glad you saw it too, a couple people commented "did you know from actually made a horror game?" but didn't see that I slide it into frame (probably just listening to the audio, which is fair haha)
9:23 I actually know how to dodge this! You just need to find the sweet spot between Metyr herself and the lasers, its tight but its doable, probably would've been an incredible damage window for this run.
Man, I did MINE with a NG+7, Level 505, Vergil w/no Mods, (PS5, lol!) Build! RIght now, I'm on my THIRD run of the DLC, just going around, and getting stuf! OH, I also beat my NG+6 AND 7 Main Game runs with this Character too! Malenia got DESTROYED, BOTH times by him, lol! You should have SEEN, how both those fights went down! F-ING AWESOME! I didn't know this shield even EXISTED, until last night, when I was on this other Elden Ring YT Channel, and saw him using THIS, so, I HAD to grab this myself!
8:38 well, the message says something about asking for forgiveness. When you get Messmer to phase 2, he says "O' mother, forgive me" this is a statue of Marika, so you use "O' mother" and ask for forgiveness from Marika. tbh i just tried using the gesture cuz that's the only other new gesture i got and the statue looked sus to me
I can't remember what the message says, something about shamans haha, but a couple people have mentioned that the shaman village has the toothy whip which talks about shamans, and the o mother gesture. So, while still cryptic, I see the connection now lol
For Metyr, Mother of Fingers dual beam attack, you just have to run the same direction it's moving, it's very slow so easily out ran. I've found that the only way it'll catch you with this method is if the beam starts *very* close to you, other than that, it worked for me everytime. Hope that helps.
first of all, wake up babe, new doom wolf video now, the rot heal is pretty much works like poison moth flight/poison flower blooms twice, where you deal a lot of damage after using it but clears the status effect.
I wish deathblight did anything in PvE at all, it would have been cool if it was explored more, there is at least one boss in the dlc that uses it but it's not any kind of focus haha
Alexander isn't the same as the ones in the Shadow Realm. It's because in the other realm they've used unique specimen that enables the weird things we see
@@DoomWolfOfficialyeah in base game it's sentient jars that get memories from dead bodies, in shadow lands they are tortured shamans with corpses attached
I believe the Romina thing might be intentional, as it pretty much is the effect of the ash of war "the poison flower blooms twice", which summons a dagger under your foot and then drives it into the opponent, doing big rot (or poison I can't really remember) buildup, if the opponent is hit again while under the effect of either rot or poison the ash of war will do big damage instead, so Romina could be programmed to have the AOW effect on at all times, but who knows I'm not a dev.
15:56 someone else has probably already said it (or it got balanced/solved) but this attack is quite literally undodgeable. consistently at least. sometimes the uneven terrain allows the blades to miss your head, and sometimes you can accidentally position yourself in a way that he misses, but the traditional dodging used in the whole game?? nope. the only way to consistently dodge it is with a out of the way talisman that gives I-frames in backsteps. then you backstep the first swipe and dodge as normal. not sure if it’s a bug or what but dodging it only 4 times was definitely not your fault
To answer your question, the DLC took me 60 some odd hours to complete. I tend to shove as many characters through the DLC as possible to determine what strategies and builds were viable for me. First, I tried a build that uses Rellana's Twin Swords, but that got hard stuck on the funny sunflower boss. That was about 10 - 20 some odd hours? The rest were on my faith caster. Buffs and heals make for some insane survivability. 3 different damage types meant that I was never stuck on a boss, and knight's lightning spear became my primary damage source. Also, I have no idea why the bosses don't go full aggro on other people using ranged fighting styles. I quite literally needed to learn the dodge timings and find openings to throw an uncharged spell. Guess I'm unlucky, but I found my melee only builds went significantly better than either of my spell casters.
I too have had similar occurrences of bosses being weirdly aggressive on ranged characters, not all the time, like here but sometimes they really REALLY don't want me to get a spell off lol
When I first try the dlc, I didn't realize I was in new game plus 3 when I saw how many Mimic helms had, I had 3, it was a challenge but damn it was fun. Would I fight the final boss of the dlc in new game plus 4? Hahahaha NO!
Commander Gaius was your third remembrance? I feel your pain, I went to the Scadutree avatar at blessing level 4, and it was my second remembrance, I hadn't even fought Rellana.
@@DoomWolfOfficial honestly sounds like a good challenge If i remember correctly, If you block an attack, it will increase the power of the ash of war skill
For the record on finger mother you dodge the singulairty lazor attack by watching the spin and staying near the boss. Depending on the timing of the rotation there is space between the aoe around the boss and lazor forming a safe ring. So if you run around the boss in the Safe ring you can avoid the lazor because it only dips into the safe zone every so often.
I started the DLC on NG+5 and the only reason I got through it was because of my trusty bleed-infused Guts greatsword with Giant Hunt, the breaker of all stances, on it (yeah, you’re definitely right, at that point, the bosses just have way too much health for it to feel natural anymore) Also, the way I found to dodge Metyr’s laser…is to just not try at all. There’s a slight space in between the damaging pool of flame that she summons beneath her and the lasers, so if you stand in it, you won’t get clipped. I’m sure there must be a way to roll through it, but the timing is so strict that for a person like me, it’s impossible
You made the joke about the new run with the torch, there's actually 2 whole new torches on the dlc! The other one you find on the Lamenter's Gaol! The boss of that gaol also drops an item that lets you transform and gives you a unique attack that would be very interesting for a challenge run imo (if by interesting I mean grueling, but that's the point of challenge runs, right?)
I'll let you in on a little secret, I started the torch only run today. Then JK told me ZeroLenny already dropped a torch only video, so i'm putting the brakes on that (will do it eventually, just not that close to his video). can confirm. that lamenter's torch..sucks. like. _hard_ lol
The DLC actually has a hidden scaling factor to accommodate people who play it for the first time on an NG+ cycle. Basically, if you've never entered the DLC on a lower NG cycle, the scaling of enemies and bosses will be much gentler, to account for the fact that you don't have any Scadutree blessings yet. NG+4 is probably still a bad call for your first time, though.
I thought the DLC scaling only applied _after_ beating the final DLC boss, then any subsequent playthroughs had it ramp up (in other words i had the 'normal' DLC scaling, just NG+4 scaling )
Totally fair my friend! I avoided all videos (and youtube as whole) when it dropped to make sure I wouldn't be spoiled either haha, the video will be here when you are ready :)
8:39 there is a message on the ground (like one that looks not like a player one but instead like some stone tablet) there are multible like that in the game each giving you an important tipp. its vague but its a tipp.
Actually, i found out something that catches many people off guard about the dlc, in where they believe that it is ng+ scaling, but it actually scales with your level, which is a pretty cool mechanic (I know this for certain as I tested it with friends, I was lv510 & they were around 350 on same ng+ with wildly different healthbars & damage)
I..feel like if that were true it would mean RL1 base NG would be way easier? I mean noticeably so lol, I do know I was on NG+4 and my friends were on NG, we were getting 2, 3, 4 shot by the same thing, the only difference is my bosses had like 8 times as much health lol
The Pierce thing acts like the ash of war called the poison flower blooms twice with when it hits take off the status effect of rot and poison and causes an explosion that would do the total damage of ether rot or poison
Thos dlc added so many cool weapons cant wait to see what u make. I am personally loving the thrusting shield with throwing daggers for a gd ranged option.
I've never hid from those madness enemies I always fought them. Maybe because the first one I found didn't have that hint about hiding so I thought you HAD to fight him lmao
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah, however I went from the side of the church and killed the one that drops the talisman. From what I've seen there are no warnings by him
For the hole in the ground that you took to go to the Potentate Village, there's an other hole next to it that you can parkour just to access it aswell The Ray Attack of the Mother of Finger can be dodged by going next to her and running under the ray as Its in an angle.
9:20 this attack can not be i-framed however it consists of the aoe below the boss and the beam which reflects outward. there is a circle around the inner aoe which the beam goes around meaning you can just stand between the two parts without taking damage and eve hit the boss with ranged attacks.
I completed the DLC on bese NG, then went in with a NG+7. I quickly gave up, just collected the map and some early fragments and went another NG+ round to have a scadutree lvl8 headstart and it finally became playable then. I still had to use the Carian Thrusting Shield to beat Radahn because I'm not Peeve Peeverson to waste 70+hours of my life against him.
14:05 hmmm... well, there is a new Poison Moth Flight-style Ash of War that applies Scarlet Rot called "The Piison Flower Blooms Twice," which has an innitial attack that deals medium damage and causes scarlet rot buildup, and a follow-up that 'pops' it. So, mayhaps, Romina has that same effect on her stinger slam? Just bumping up the damage considerably, but rewards the player for surviving by cleansing the rot?
I was in a similar boat. I went into the dlc with my ng+4 main character, and it was hard. I enjoyed it and beat the dlc fully, it was just a lot harder than it needed to be, lol. Gonna make a new character and play through it again at a lower level and on a normal playthrough. lol
I started on ng+3 at like level 230 ish. Had a wonderful, and i mean WONDERFUL time learning the bosses movesets and adapting. I play elden ring and fromsoft games because it bothers me on a molecular level to play and beat a game in the first day or couple days of buying it. I need it to be challenging
Omfg I feel so stupid for never figuring out how Scadutree Avatar’s HP worked. I never put it together that getting the Riposte started each phase with less HP so it felt inconsistent as to whether it not each it started with full HP or 75% HP.
For the Metyr Laser attack, if you time it right you can follow the first laser’s path to avoid it and go between the center aoe and the second laser to dodge it!
Today I beat the DLC with 15scadute blessings and 10 ash blessings all bosses with mimic by this point I had no problem just within 30 tries they all fell but that last 3h of hell it's like Miyazaki said "how many attacks do you want per 1cm square ? yes please" .......it's unbelievable that you're so capable and other people like Bushy Gino Aggy etc. .... and even those who don't make public appearances. I bow down
The character I took into the dlc I beat the base game (all rememberances) in just over 32 hours. After all remembrances in the dlc I ended up at just over 80.
I'm sure there'll be a lot of Discus-ion about this run...

Frankly, doing an entire run like this sounds Discus-ting.

It’s as if you smith your script… I’ll shield you from my humor
Surprised to see how effective this little shield could be. Still... the thought of taking on the final boss with it instantly made me hurl 🤮
I tried taking the final boss on with smithscript Cirque for memes and I regretted it. However I did do it after a few million tries 😂
haha yeah, the idea of doing _any_ run that ends in that final boss..it scares me lol

17:43 one last thing before I go, I love this boss, it's so good, and I will never dishonor it by using my sekiro skills to turn it into a joke, I just don't have the heart to
those are some awesome build ideas! I actually plan on doing dragon communion only because I did that in the base game, maybe not soon though haha
glad you liked the joke, I thought it was clever :P
I might do a sekiro in elden ring video one day, so I will have to spontaneous counter with a katana lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial that sounds beautiful, do show the sekiro face you'll make though as I might steal that for my own fun
What a good way to start off the weekend!
Hope you enjoyed it :)
You could have named it Captain America run as we have a new movie trailer of him.
I mean, yeah, and the original run was Captain America, this is the sequel, the shadowlands soldier
very quickly became my favorite youtuber
Thanks my friend, I'm glad you like the videos :)
did YOU just insert a KUON refences at 10:45?! I'm Subbing now. You are a Legend to know that game!
I did, glad you saw it too, a couple people commented "did you know from actually made a horror game?" but didn't see that I slide it into frame (probably just listening to the audio, which is fair haha)
bro, u should be more famous, this is quality video right here
Thanks my friend, I'm glad you enjoy the videos :)
9:23 I actually know how to dodge this! You just need to find the sweet spot between Metyr herself and the lasers, its tight but its doable, probably would've been an incredible damage window for this run.
Oh thanks for the tip!!
13:59
Romina used a skill that you can use in Ash of War (The Poison Flower Blooms Twice).
It consumes the Rot/Poison Deals it in full +75%
Yeah, these seems to be it! Pretty cool we actually got the boss variant and not a watered down version hah
Hello, been hoping for this, captain America shall go on!!!
indeed, the true cap run can exist now haha
Ng+7 oof that's rough haha nice Job though!
8:38 well, the message says something about asking for forgiveness.
When you get Messmer to phase 2, he says "O' mother, forgive me"
this is a statue of Marika, so you use "O' mother" and ask for forgiveness from Marika.
tbh i just tried using the gesture cuz that's the only other new gesture i got and the statue looked sus to me
I can't remember what the message says, something about shamans haha, but a couple people have mentioned that the shaman village has the toothy whip which talks about shamans, and the o mother gesture.
Hope that helps.
thanks i'll have to try it!
You can also stand really close and the laser will miss you 😁
I'm glad that I was playing online with that statue puzzle, because there was a message there that literally showed me the gesture I had to do.
That's fair, I always play offline so I don't see extra hints like that haha
"Closest we're gonna get to a FromSoft horror game"
REMAKE ECHO NIGHT BEYOND!
I actually haven't heard of this one lol
first of all, wake up babe, new doom wolf video
now, the rot heal is pretty much works like poison moth flight/poison flower blooms twice, where you deal a lot of damage after using it but clears the status effect.
Gotta get that beauty sleep! and neat!
Greatest thumbnail of all time???
lmao, glad you like it :)
Now THIS is a man who disc golfs!
good one!
Don't worry, Alexander is proud to have fallen to you, there's no shame in giving him the glorious battle he seeks
this is true and makes me feel better about it lol
Ngl i am a bit disappointed that death blight is never brought up in this dlc.
Heres hoping for the next one
I wish deathblight did anything in PvE at all, it would have been cool if it was explored more, there is at least one boss in the dlc that uses it but it's not any kind of focus haha
The fingers and Marika bit got me.😂
I'm glad lol
Alexander isn't the same as the ones in the Shadow Realm. It's because in the other realm they've used unique specimen that enables the weird things we see
Welp...at least I gave him a warriors death haha
@@DoomWolfOfficialyeah in base game it's sentient jars that get memories from dead bodies, in shadow lands they are tortured shamans with corpses attached
I can't be the only one who saw CMDR Gaius and practically heard MY NAME IS GYOUBU MASATAKA ONIWAAA
lol, too bad he doesn't scream like that, would have made the fight more enjoyable on my first time
You, sir, are a Hero!
(yup, I'm from that Demon's Souls video of JK)
Thanks! But we both know jk Leeds is the true hero, I just have deep pockets :)
7:00 is that the orphan of Kos!?
haha does have a similar look and weapon huh!
I think it is too, because of that AoW mostly haha
15:56 someone else has probably already said it (or it got balanced/solved) but this attack is quite literally undodgeable. consistently at least. sometimes the uneven terrain allows the blades to miss your head, and sometimes you can accidentally position yourself in a way that he misses, but the traditional dodging used in the whole game?? nope. the only way to consistently dodge it is with a out of the way talisman that gives I-frames in backsteps. then you backstep the first swipe and dodge as normal. not sure if it’s a bug or what but dodging it only 4 times was definitely not your fault
It's so frustrating if it's actually undodgable, like, how unfair would that be ya know
It was so suprising to find a boss with my straight up name, so I then had to use the golden barb spear for the rest of my playthrough, it's the law
It is indeed the law lol
Haha yeah it's rough
Commander Gaius was your third remembrance? I feel your pain, I went to the Scadutree avatar at blessing level 4, and it was my second remembrance, I hadn't even fought Rellana.
we both decided to explore, we both paid for it lmao
Shield of night next?
Maybe not next, but who knows! Haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial honestly sounds like a good challenge
If i remember correctly, If you block an attack, it will increase the power of the ash of war skill
Rellana wants to make her papa pontiff proud, i think shes one of the coolest bosses
I agree she's a pretty cool boss
I would have missed the cerulean coast but I'm like it's there. Idk what it is but its there.
That's fair, just open the map like "there is something there, I must discover it!"
New doom vid and day off, today is a good day
Hope you enjoyed it :)
@@DoomWolfOfficial hell yeah, your vids never fail to make me laugh
For the record on finger mother you dodge the singulairty lazor attack by watching the spin and staying near the boss. Depending on the timing of the rotation there is space between the aoe around the boss and lazor forming a safe ring. So if you run around the boss in the Safe ring you can avoid the lazor because it only dips into the safe zone every so often.
Cool! Thanks for the tip :)
I started the DLC on NG+5 and the only reason I got through it was because of my trusty bleed-infused Guts greatsword with Giant Hunt, the breaker of all stances, on it (yeah, you’re definitely right, at that point, the bosses just have way too much health for it to feel natural anymore)
Also, the way I found to dodge Metyr’s laser…is to just not try at all. There’s a slight space in between the damaging pool of flame that she summons beneath her and the lasers, so if you stand in it, you won’t get clipped. I’m sure there must be a way to roll through it, but the timing is so strict that for a person like me, it’s impossible
basically same, I ran with my duel katana build because man, they had way too much health lol. and neat! thanks for the tip!
Then JK told me ZeroLenny already dropped a torch only video, so i'm putting the brakes on that (will do it eventually, just not that close to his video). can confirm. that lamenter's torch..sucks. like. _hard_ lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial Looking forward to your torch only and maybe lamenter's visage someday 👀
That borderline undodgeable attack is doable if you stay on his right or left side at all times. One of the first two attacks will guaranteed miss
hmm maybe I should try dodging in the direction I already am instead of crossing him up, pun intended lol
I really wanna see the video but I've haven't finished the DLC yet and I don't want spoilers so imma drop a like and come back later 😅
Totally fair my friend! I avoided all videos (and youtube as whole) when it dropped to make sure I wouldn't be spoiled either haha, the video will be here when you are ready :)
Captain doom wolf throwing shields🔥
the savior the people needed. lol
8:39 there is a message on the ground (like one that looks not like a player one but instead like some stone tablet) there are multible like that in the game each giving you an important tipp. its vague but its a tipp.
I saw it, but I had no idea that message was linked to a village miles away lol
playing it on ng+24 cause its my main character, just killed bayle. im at the final boss and i think im about 30 maybe 40 hours in
Nice!
Doom is a good boy
Thanks :)
The Pierce thing acts like the ash of war called the poison flower blooms twice with when it hits take off the status effect of rot and poison and causes an explosion that would do the total damage of ether rot or poison
Neat, thanks for explaining!
Thos dlc added so many cool weapons cant wait to see what u make. I am personally loving the thrusting shield with throwing daggers for a gd ranged option.
I'm excited to try out all the new toys haha
I've never hid from those madness enemies I always fought them. Maybe because the first one I found didn't have that hint about hiding so I thought you HAD to fight him lmao
Aren't there like 4 warnings on the ground when you get into the area? haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah, however I went from the side of the church and killed the one that drops the talisman. From what I've seen there are no warnings by him
For the hole in the ground that you took to go to the Potentate Village, there's an other hole next to it that you can parkour just to access it aswell
The Ray Attack of the Mother of Finger can be dodged by going next to her and running under the ray as Its in an angle.
thanks for the tips! both of em! haha
1:19 Because that’s what ‘Merika was built on ;3
Maybe not so much the INT though 😂
lol, I see what you did there
I also started my DLC on NG+4. It started out really bat but got a lot better as I increased my blessing levels
nice, I ended with 15 blessings so I missed a few but struggled for most of it haha
This weapon is quite the throw of a bone for puns
true haha
9:20 this attack can not be i-framed however it consists of the aoe below the boss and the beam which reflects outward. there is a circle around the inner aoe which the beam goes around meaning you can just stand between the two parts without taking damage and eve hit the boss with ranged attacks.
neat, thanks!
The mental illness, so I did a NG+7 to start off with😊
Mood lol
I don’t know why people think higher new games means more challenge if you learned the enemies patterns once you can beat them on any new game
I believe this the case!
I was in a similar boat. I went into the dlc with my ng+4 main character, and it was hard. I enjoyed it and beat the dlc fully, it was just a lot harder than it needed to be, lol. Gonna make a new character and play through it again at a lower level and on a normal playthrough. lol
Yep, bosses having so much health and pre scadu blessing buff things were rough, especially in the beginning lol
Might actually give the shield a try. Don't give fromsoft any ideas to nerf this thing.
Lol hopefully they don't, I mean there are other weapons that need it right...right?
Yeah especially after they nerfed a bunch of the other stuff.
Like the now mediocre Perfume Bottles.
to quote the souls community at the moment: "CURSE YOU BAYLE!"
Best summon lol
I started on ng+3 at like level 230 ish. Had a wonderful, and i mean WONDERFUL time learning the bosses movesets and adapting. I play elden ring and fromsoft games because it bothers me on a molecular level to play and beat a game in the first day or couple days of buying it. I need it to be challenging
well as long as you had fun!
Omfg I feel so stupid for never figuring out how Scadutree Avatar’s HP worked. I never put it together that getting the Riposte started each phase with less HP so it felt inconsistent as to whether it not each it started with full HP or 75% HP.
Haha yeah, idk why they bothered to do that, like why not just start it at the same hp regardless
For the Metyr Laser attack, if you time it right you can follow the first laser’s path to avoid it and go between the center aoe and the second laser to dodge it!
neat, thanks for the tip!
yey new doom elden ring video ❤
Hope you liked it :)
I bow down
Haha we have a lot of time on our hands, but also yeah Miyazaki really jsut said "all of the arena" when asked the amount of attacks he wanted
The Metyr fight reminds me of the Ebrietas fight from Bloodborne.
Boss design wise I could see it haha
The character I took into the dlc I beat the base game (all rememberances) in just over 32 hours. After all remembrances in the dlc I ended up at just over 80.
Nice! Good times!
Alright brother listen, i need you to stop uploading right after i get to the gym. I'll have to wait again until im back home
lmao, hope you got some good gains today at least!
