    Dr. Prax...thank you for your dedication to all of us who suffer from neuropathy...I have sent you a comment on another video...I am just starting a deep dive into curing this unbearable pain...mine is in my feet and started about a year ago...I saw a neurologist and a podiatrist...gabapentin, which I declined, and a "sucks to be you" kind of attitude...I was told it is Lumbar radiculopathy, I do suffer from degenerative disc disease, lumbar...I have had that condition for years....it is all so confusing, the more I research, the worse it gets...I read a lot about peripheral neuropathy and those symptoms seem to fit...I live in Boston area, and am done with the conventional Dr's. that seem so far behind in new advancements and just want to push meds on me and nothing else...It is so frustrating, but I don't want to cave...you are the only Dr. that is helpful and not just posting an infomercial....I would even consider traveling to your clinic for a full evaluation and direction on what to do...a brief history of my situation is on the "statin" video, all the comments I read (except for that ONE, and I kind of lost it and my Irish got the best of me in my reply)...it was gut wrenching to read all the anguish in those people....I am really reaching out here and hoping to get on the right path...I am only64, but have always taken care of my health and body, and have a very structured and healthy diet...this is starting to get the best of me and I don't want to be the one that waited too long to seek help... thank you for all you do to help so many people...you epitomize everything that a doctor should be...

    • @Reversing_Neuropathy
      @Reversing_Neuropathy  6 років тому

      I read your comment on the "statin" video, thanks for that and thanks for your kind remarks. As far as consulting goes, I've had folks contact me as far away as California, Florida, even one or two from England. We have two options if you like. A Remote exam, where we can utilize technology (FB messenger or Skype) or a local one where you can come in for an exam. If you're interested, contact my staff at 434-977-5433 for more details, ok?
      Best of luck:)

    I am in a wheelchair and I live in Mercedes, TX. I was fine before I went into an operation for an aneurysm close to my stomach. After the operation and waking up in the recovery room. I couldn't feel from my waist down. After one day, my feeling came back but I couldn't walk because of a dropped left foot. What kind of exercises can I do in a wheelchair to cure my dropped left foot?

    • @Reversing_Neuropathy
      @Reversing_Neuropathy  8 років тому +1

      Dear David Ruelas. I'm so sorry for your disability from the surgery. Sounds like the surgeon clipped the Peroneal Nerve. That's a branch off the sciatic nerve that controls the anterior tibialis muscle and others that flex the foot upwards. Clinical research gives about a 6 month window on drop foot so you need to move quickly. There are many things that can be done, but, again move quickly. AT MINIMUM as your surgeon to refer you to a PT for specific exercises. If you were in my clinic I'd refer to PT as well as put you on NERVE related therapies. Call me if you'd like a free consultation. 434-977-5433.
      Best of luck,
      B. Prax

      richard rose honestly my hands are a bigger problem then my feet. Is the gabapentin helping your hands, im interested

    • @rockonmadonna
      @rockonmadonna 5 років тому

      I exercise, but it does not help. Nothing helps except Gabapentin, and it only partially masks the pain while causing a feeling of being high on cannabis (available in a few places for neuropathy) and hand tremors. I do not sweat due to autonomic small fiber nerve damage. Diet does not help either, even after months of super expensive clean dieting. It is feasible that IVIg with ritumax could help for idiopathic neuropathy, which is likely autoimmune. Traditional neurology will not prescribe it, and it runs about $25,000 per annum. It could also possibly help to stimulate the spine and the area (from both ends) with a class IV laser and a class three laser for more sensitive tissue like mucous membranes and the genitals. The issue is nobody but the top 10% can afford what Chiros typically charge for laser ($35 per session thrice weekly and for dome of us the full body, and thus for years), and Obamacare or Medicaid insurance will not cover it, and we are often disabled from daily tasks due to nerve damage. Chiros charge more than disabled people can afford. Really, it is hopeless for idiopathic small fiber sufferers. Suicide is the only option for the stiffer and the burdened caretakers. Those with a known cause can improve.

    hi doc, I recently started a low sugar/card diet and have been loosing weight, my sugar has been very well controlled since doing this. my last a1c was 5.4, the problem now is I've been having this burning pain all over like my feet, legs, thigh, arms, hands, and my entire back...sometimes even my neck and buttocks. it was so bad at a point I could not sleep. been to er so many times...they said it's neuropathy. I notice when my sugar is not controlled I have no pain, but as soon I start to eat right and exercise all the pain comes back....please help, is the pain a sign that my nerves are healing?

    • @Reversing_Neuropathy
      @Reversing_Neuropathy  7 років тому +6

      MsPhapha its an simple but not so easy in the modern era solution.... avoid sugar like you are allergic to it and you will get better. average American consumes 160# of the stuff yet we are engineered for 10# maybe. bottom line, eat whole, unrefined FOOD!

    Neuropathy is a real curse. For me, the problem is just numbness like socks.
    I have been with A1C 6-5.7 for 6 years
    Only now realize that pre-diabetes can also cause this.
    I was also found to be sensitive to gluten, this also affects the absorption of vitamins and may make the situation worse
    Also beware of amalgam fillings, they contain mercury which causes neuropathy.

      Thanks for the reply and concern.
      I'm from Israel.
      In the meantime, I started a completely gluten-free diet
      But improvement may take time.
      I also started intermittent fasting and a low carb diet
      In order to lower the A1C levels to at least 5.3.
      I do brisk walks of half an hour to an hour every day
      and takes alpha lipoic acid every day.
      If I don't feel improvement in three months then I will contact them.
      Thanks again.

    I had a back surgery in February of 2014 and the surgeon had to cut the nerves to get the bone spurs out. I had nerve damage and drop foot. I did learn to walk again with a cane and have to concentrate on every step I take to do heal first. In August of the same year I had breast cancer surgery. I was instructed to not walk very much and was put on a hormone. As a result of not being as active as I was before the breast surgery I developed stiffness and numbness in both feet and up my legs near my knees. Is is PN? In the last month I have had some feeling in the bottom of my right foot. Wow! First time in over three years.
    But I cannot get rid of the numbness and stiffness. My Neurologist does not know why they are stiff. My physical therapist she could not help any longer. I think that I have more nerve regeneration but I am unable to fell it because of the stiffness in my feet and legs. Can you give me an answer.

    • @Reversing_Neuropathy
      @Reversing_Neuropathy  7 років тому

      That's so called "modern western medicine" for you. Hopefully the surgeon and doctor discussed the possible negative outcomes of the surgeries before going through those procedures. Yes it is peripheral neuropathy by definition. Stiffness is your brain's interpretation of the damaged nerves' output. Most importantly, the question should be, can it be reversed or helped? That I wouldn't know unless I performed an exam and went over your medical history in more detail. Call if you'd like to discuss over the phone. 434-977-5433

      Hi Dr Prax, my question is have your patients recovered from symptoms drop foot like symptoms caused by high BG by controlling their sugar with diet and exercise for a month. For me After about 20 minutes of walking/jogging my ankle goes numb and lifting my toes up becomes more difficult so the nerve has weakened or is being compressed I figure. Also can minor retina problems caused by high blood sugar also be reversed with strong BG control and excercise? Thank you!

    I inject every three days 500mg b12 and put lozenges of 5000mg under my lip everyday. I go the gym and exercise three times a week and do yoga, I also walk and cycle allot. I'm low on pain allot seem to have gone from what I did, but the tingling it has increased. I'm in treatment for 6 months, wonder if I have a chance to heal 100%. Luckily allot of the pain is gone, felt like my vains had lava in them, but now it's just tingling in my legs and arms, annoying but could be far worse. Hope I can say in 2 years I'm healed, I'm working my ass off for it. My nerve damage is caused by a b12 deficiency and all the doctors I went told me it's in your head. Till it got so bad I felt like I was dying... 10 years of my life doctor's telling I'm crazy.... Yeah, I'm not, I know what's up. It's rare as a young adult, of course... Hope I can get back to normal, but I think I'm always screwed for life with nerve damage. I'm just thirty years old and been having pain since twenty.

I have been really good about sticking to it for 1 month +. My blood sugars have massively improved. I don't spike after meals anymore on low carb. My foot pain not so much.. But I think nerves are very slow to heal. I bought a foot massager hoping that my help in time. I also do stuff like ride my ebike to work 80% of the time.

    Hi there, Age 67 I've just been diagnosed with Idiopathic PN in fact the NHS neurologist suggested it had been there sometime although I first noticed 7 months ago. The problem is I already eat a good diet and exercise regularly through cycling walking and weight training 3 times a week. In fact the wife and I were camping in France for almost a month 16 weeks ago and for that whole period the neuropathy hardly registered. Went on long walks, cycled 3 cols including a non stop ascent of Alpe d'Huez plus pulled myself around three difficult sportif via ferrata. Still doing the exercise but since diagnosis a month ago it suddenly feels worse or maybe my head is telling me it's getting worse!

    What if you got your neuropathy from chemo you were taking...? Mine literally hit like a ton of bricks 3 days after I received my 6th shot Velcade in my stomach.. My feet and toes and ankle and midway up my leg is numb and throbs constantly..and also stabbing.. electrical shocks..sometimes it feels like someone is trying to rip off my toenails.. it's absolutely horrible pain..and the burning.. OMG..
    My hands...numb, throbbing, freezing, burning,..it goes to my elbows and it often feel like i have shingles...but I look and there's nothing there..
    I guess what I want to know is does it make any difference how you got the peripheral neuropathy as far as the healing ?? they stopped the shots.. and I'm on a different chemo all together...💛

    Do you believe that it's important to stop exercising before the burning starts? Anytime I try to exercise on my feet I end up in worse pain and cannot sleep.

    3 years ago I was diagnosed with CIDP. Two neurologists said that. I have zero muscle weakness after 3 years, did not take meds, just low dose chelators.
    Now, I think the diagnosis was wrong, and the reason EMG showed slowing of the nerves in my right foot/leg is mild lymphedema of my right leg. The pain is now reduced and just appears to affect my heels. My podiatrist agrees with me and thinks it's due to plantar fasciitis and my heavy weight.
    So, my question is this: Am I right to think that lymphedema can cause misreading in EMG reports? Thanks

    • @Reversing_Neuropathy
      @Reversing_Neuropathy  6 місяців тому

      Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It's understandable to seek clarity regarding your diagnosis, especially after experiencing improvements with alternative approaches. Lymphedema can indeed impact nerve conduction studies, potentially leading to misinterpretations in EMG reports. Consulting with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and possibly repeating the tests could provide more insights. Feel free to reach out to us here: reversingneuropathy.com if you need guidance. Wishing you continued improvement and wellness. 🙏

      That's a dang good question Brent, Thanks! Chemotherapy is out of your system a number of hours after you've had it given but the side effects can take up to about six months and in some cases years to a life time. So, in short, no the toxins, themselves are flushed out, but the damage they do remain.

    Dr. Pax, hi , I was diagnosed with diabetes in the first week of Jan with a sugar level of 534. I was immediately put on metformin and since I was having pain in my groin area I was also given gabapentine . Later my metformin was changed to a XR form, the slow release kind. I was at 135 pounds and now at 116. I was not having any leg pain or any signs of pen till then. Within a month of new kind of metformin I started having nerve pain in the feet which later developed into burning and walking became difficult. At night I am waking up at least 6to 8 times because of the burn and the pain in my legs. I am taking b12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid along with metformin.       Pratik Pokhrel. A quick Google search revealed this;
      Contact your doctor if you experience serious side effects of isoniazid including an allergic reaction, unusual weakness or fatigue, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, numbness or tingling in your hands or feet, seizures, or confusion or abnormal behavior.
      Weakness is a serious reaction...Contact the doctor who prescribed this right away, OK?
      Best of luck,
      Dr. PRax

    Thank you. Dr. Prax for your videos I found your videos by accident looking to find more about my problem. I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy about five years ago I have seen different specialist , my neuropathy is not diabetic related the last place I was referred to was a pain clinic which I told by the doctor that there nothing that can be done for me and I just have to live with it 😢
    But I don’t want to live with it. After seeing your videos I have some hopes that it could be reversible. But the I live in western Canada so there is quite a distance between us. I don’t know what to do I wish I could come and see you. So question from you is do you know any doctor who does what you do and if not do you do phone or FaceTime appointments? I appreciate tremendously if you write back to me.I can give you my phone number if necessary
    Please help me !!
