I am married to one, and it used to bother me how invested my husband is in his patients out of his office hours. I mean he gives his cell phone number to some patients!!!! I used to hate it because it is my personal time with him. But , I came to the conclusion that this world needs more physicians like them! Specially since I started to have to health issues myself and have suffered the neglect from the modern medical field. Is blessing that I have someone that all he does is taking care his patients beyond almost any circumstances.

I have pinched nerve in C5 and this video was 100% accurate to describe my problems with it. My observations from last 3 years with this problem is that best thing you can do is to strengthen your neck muscles and focus on posture. My new daily routine is little bit of self-massage at the back of the neck. Then rotating head to all possible direction, so stretching. And lastly but the most important is to strengthen those neck muscles. I try to rotate my head in different directions and press against that rotation with my hands. Best thing for your health is to activate and strengthen your muscles around the body.

Hey. I’m reaching out to you because my mother has been admitted into the hospital with pain in her neck (she couldn’t move it side to side) then it went into her lower back and the neck pain resolved, then it went into her chest just on the right side, then it went into her traps across her upper back. Her pain was so bad she almost couldn’t stand up by herself. She’s 77 and plays pickle ball 3 times per week. The doctors have run every test that they have and have ruled out cancer, meningitis, kidney stones, kidney disease. It sounds like your symptoms are similar to hers.

The twenty minutes twice a week in cervical traction (physical therapy) did nothing during my daily agony. By the time of my appointment with a doctor, it was so much better but they wanted that MRI which showed a bone spur they said was causing the pain. I started writing at the beginning but by the time you got to thoracic outlet syndrome I thought to myself I wish I had you back in 2004/05. I got injured on my job throwing freight (lifting a display) my neck & lower back 5'6, 120lbs 47yrs, excellent shape. Coming up on 19 yrs. Still suffering. It's my Left side C4, C5 & C6. I was born with extra set of cervical ribs. So that's where TOS came in. Said "No" to rib removal surgery. Epidural, steroid injections, steroid pills, massages, over door cervical traction unit I have. Muscle relaxers, percocet, zolpidem - been on it way too long, does something to your brain, not sure how to get off of it.
I actually wore out my left disc on my jaw from grinding in my sleep bc I was in pain, while sleeping. I am in pain all the time, nothing really helps.
The neurologist wanted to go in make more space on the disc where the nerve is compressed. But that didn't happen. I drop things alot with my left hand, sometimes I can't feel the fingers & thumb. There's nothing left to do. I hoped for so long for resolution, it didn't happen.
    Thanks, Doc

With everything that was happening a co-worker suggested I see an orthopedic doctor, who prescribed 500mg of Naproxen. That made a huge difference, significantly reducing the chest pain. I consulted with every specialist I could get a referral for-some were helpful, others not so much. Two years ago i had a whole spine MRI and found disc bulges from C1 to T1 plus a disc bulge between L5S1. Lately, i already developed i think radiculopathy on both hands and legs down to the feet and hands. I have a bad posture coupled with my work on looking thru the microscope as a pathologist and working hours in front of the computer making pathology reports made a toll on my intervertebral discs. I hope i could still recover and experience pain free days by improving posture and doing the exercises you are telling us. I am 54 now and i hope its not too late. God Bless you Doc.

Agree 100% with ALL that you said. 16 yrs ago, I struggled with tons of pain and muscle weakness in my neck, and throughout body related to C5/C6 disc herniation. I tried everything I knew at the time, to relieve the pain (massage/chiro/acupuncture/Rolfing, etc) - drs eventually did steroid injections which only lasted 3 months each, and I succumbed to the discectomy surgery. It took some pain away at first, but now I regret it because the fusion/plate/screws in my neck prevent me from easily looking up to look at the stars at night in the mountains - I have to unkink my neck muscles, then I can slowly look up. I have since been on a search for chronic pain, and God lead me to a wonderful massage school in SLC, Utah - where I became certified in massage and a bonus!...learned a posture corrective technique that helps all this stuff you talked about. It's called Spinal Touch in the US west and England, and Hurley-Osbourn technique in FL and Toronto area, and Applied Biomechanics in Arkansas. Ego's get in the way in the name of claim - but the technique is mostly the same all around and very few do this in the USA. I want to become certified to teach it here in Denver - there needs to be an army of therapists doing this for the masses of chronic pain sufferers in the world - allowing the body to heal itself!! I live with pain and wish I could just receive 3 or more treatments for myself (can't do on self - sadly - and I'm a lone wolf here - nobody knows this therapy nearby - I'd have to drive 4 hrs to CO/Utah border). Just 1-2 therapies took 14 yrs of pain away just by relaxing the muscles and getting out all the acidic toxins. I was shocked at the power of this therapy - and am soooo blessed to have learned this therapy in massage school - glad I picked the one i did. no other massage schools teach this! (I believe it was totally Divine led). By gentle, light-touch energy work with laws of leverage - this therapy corrects posture, allows the body to move back bones in their correct place and facilitates the body to use its "innate" brain to heal itself from "dis-ease syndromes". Love what you are teaching - keep doing it! People need to be educated and going under the knife is not always the best answer. Try other things FIRST! Praising the Lord - that He led me to your videos. If you want to learn more about this therapy: buy on Amazon these 2 books by Dr. John Hurley: Aquarian Age Healing 1 & 2. He was a former engineer turned chiropractor, who disagreed with some of the chiro methods regarding the sacrum and felt light touch was better - by addressing the soft tissue - he founded Aquarian Age Healing and the terms we use today such as "stress" and "strain" and many drs have copycat therapies that are used today based from learning his therapy - ex: Logan Basic method. sadly - those copycats just don't work as well as the original Aquarian Age Healing.

I have been dealing with nerve damage, numbness and inflammation in my upper extremities for about 10 years now and this video has helped me severely in the understanding of my internal workings of my nervous system and causes of pain, numbness, and swelling. I fell out of a tree about 14 feet onto my neck in the summer of 2010. I couldn't lift my chin from my chest for about 4 total months. Once I could...I would get a rush of physical sensation that went from the base of my skull to the heels of my feet. I was addicted to this sensation! I know it sounds absurd. But it is true. Once kept doing this my neck got stronger and more flexible. Now...10 years later it is effecting my moods and emotions because of the irritability I sustain on a daily basis. I have always done physical therapy on myself and haven't relied on a single doctors perspective of my condition. I have been agreeing with everything you've said aloud in front of my girlfriend because I've gone through this for such an abundance of time and can relate to your findings of relief. But after watching this video I am now completely knowledgeable in what is going on in my body and now know the correct ways to deal with said complications. Thank you MOTIVATIONALDOC for all that you've explained and if possible would like to learn more from you personally about the human anatomy and certain aspects of the nervous system that cause these types of anomolies. I have been truly blessed.

I just went to a chinese massage therapist today due to my left hand tingling (last 2 fingers) & after he checked my neck bone & spine, it was not upright. He was pretty upset of how phones have caused people with bad posture.
Anyway, he did some bone adjustment & now the tingling is minimal. Hope this helps those who are worried about the tingling & numbness :)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!!
I just stumbled across this video, and now I know it was not an accidental encounter.
I have been to two/2 SURGEON'S telling me I need surgery on my neck...
I had a lumbar spinal fusion in ( 2018 ) which I feel now was a mistake... I have a GREAT SURGEON, and trust his knowledge completely.
I am now being told my CERVICAL SPINE NEEDS SURGERY. I TRULY AM NOT FEELING LIKE HAVING SURGERY !!
I AM GRATEFUL FOR THIS VIDEO, AND I KNOW I HAVE OTHER OPTIONS NOW..
I am now on a mission to work on myself instead of having surgery on my neck.
    My Lumbar Spinel area have
18 screws, rods, etc.. A great deal of Hardware. It is causing it's own issues now.
I have to get off this ride now.
I am tired, and physically & mentally not ready for more stuff put into my body...
So, this is where I get off... 🤷🏾‍♀️

Despite myself being an agnostic, Dr. Mandel is the reason I believe in the possibility of a Higher Power!
Some people thought I was referring to Dr Mandel as being an agnostic. My bad. So, I have edited my initial comment.

@james colvin I just meant it in a lighter vein, in a moment of inspiration. Not looking for likes. And what is bolstering "disbelief". If anything, belief needs bolstering. Why so serious?

    Excellent video!
I pinched my phrenic nerve after a severe coughing attack and suffered 100% diaphragm paralysis. The cervical spine needs protection. I knew an ambulance would be too late so I prayed as I sophocated mid-air and the Spirit instantly told me to hang upside down and relax my muscles. I did it, but it took a lot to relax while I was panicking without air. Forward-head posture can protect this vulnerability. I continued with ice, niacin and gentle inversion therapy, which only requires a 5-6% downward slant for decompression therapy. I used DMSO to heal the swelling the fastest.

Really appreciate all your effort in educating us. Absolutely needed to prevent people from being hasty and turning to surgery. Totally agree that posture is a key component and have been saying for years, that we should teach it in elementary schools to give kids the awareness. Maybe one day...

No offense but nobody cares about how this video makes you emotionally feel. People wanna know if your pinched nerve has completely resolved and how long has it taken you to recover if at all. Too many people leave comments about their emotional feelings, people come to the comment section to find out whether people COMPLETELY recovered YES or NO. Simple
