This looks like a very viable and a much much more affordable alternative to the STS Ikos. I'm really surprised how far Teton and Naturehike have come, in terms of the quality of their tents. Also, another excellent and through review from you. Keep up the good work.

@@CampingGuidance I haven't used any Naturehike tents as well. However, the one that caught my attention was the Hiby, as it looks like it can be set up like an Hilleberg tent. But there aren't any reviews out there 😅

This looks like a great tent for a 2 person size. Because I'm short, I can sort of stand up in this size tent. Your reviews make you think you must be an engineer, or a scientist, because you are so thorough and really give information needed to make a good decision. :)

Lol, I thought we were about the same height. I loved the parks and gardens in Singapore. I taught at the Singapore Institute of Management and my students were wonderful. But it was way too hot for me! I like temperatures close to freezing. :)

Wow, that's a really decent setup! I really like the fact that you can pull all four sides of the rainfly out to get better ventilation, but you still get good rain coverage. The stitching on that zipper you pointed out is a concern, but with Teton's warranty, it probably wouldn't be a big deal to get a replacement in that case.

Hey Rick! Thank you so much for letting me know, I'm glad I could help out a little! 🥰 Ah I don't have much experience with backpacking though :( But I think the packed size of this tent is quite small, so it should go into any large 50+ liter backpacks quite easily.
Thanks for another excellent review. You've reviewed a couple of tents that don't have a footprint even though they say they are included in their instructions. I'm trying to decide if I need a footprint (using a tarp) under a Coleman Hampton tent - not my choice of tent but wife insisted on it. What's your thought on it?

You're so sweet for always watching my reviews 🥰 And yeah I kind of figured that they just didn't update their instructions 😂 Using a tarp would definitely be a good choice for sure. I don't show it in my videos but I do protect the base of my tents most of the time, and also helps with cleaning it up hahaha. Hmm I don't have the Coleman Hampton though! Think it wasn't available on my local Amazon for some reason. I think it looks like a decent cabin tent but you can probably expect it to perform the way all my other Coleman tents have performed 😅 What are your wife's thoughts on it?
@@CampingGuidance Good points on why a footprint is a good idea. I have no high expectation for the Coleman tent. In fact, I dread it. My wife likes the D door because she doesn't want to bend her knees to operate the zipper, as she sometimes experience pain in her joints. She would not be swayed by my argument that good tent zippers like the one on the Gazelle T4 Plus (my preference) are snatch-free and would take little effort to operate. I just hope that we're not going to encounter heavy rainfalls during our up-coming camping trip. Update: I think I jinxed myself, because the weather forecast says there'll be a thunderstorm. In fact, it says it will rain the two full days that we'll be there. We may have to abandoned the trip. 🤣 I think I'll still give it a go if we had the Gazelle tent, but certainly not with the Coleman.

But you're right, between the Coleman and the Gazelle, I would definitely go with the Gazelle 100%. Oh man I'm so sorry to hear about the weather forecast! Yeah that totally sucks honestly 😔 When do you need to buy the tent by? Oh btw have you heard of the L.L. Bean Acadia cabin tent? One of my viewers told me about it, and it has a hinged door too so your wife would probably like it. It's not available in Singapore, but I was wondering if you had any experience with L.L. Bean tents!

I didn't really have a very good experience with buying these lesser known brand camping products from Amazon. A lot of them are just cookie cutter made in China, and then the brand slaps their label on it. I think along with Lost Horizon you'll find plenty of other brands making the exact same thing :( I can almost guarantee that it won't be comparable with the Exped just by looking at it. It'll be relatively comfy, and self-inflating, yes, but not comparable.

I own this tent. I've had it for 2 years. Excellent tent! I also have quite a bit of Teton Sports products. This tent is great for 3 seasons only. Headroom is very generous. Doors are spacious, and allow plenty of room to enter and exit. I like the vestibules, and the ability to open only half of it, or all of it. Ventilation is fantastic for, again, 3 seasons. Overall, and excellent tent at a budget price. I've had no issued with mine, and really enjoy it. I would recommend this tent.

@@CampingGuidance I'm liking this more than any other brand and design for a 3 person tent. Basically it has all of the features I wanted which are; it's waterproof, gear loft, pockets, double wall, vestibule, double door, canopy ventilation, and within price range. The one thing missing is an electrical pass through. I'm sorry I forgot what it's technically called.

The worst thing about this tent is the condensation on the inside. Anything touching the floor is damp. Ground sheet and the rain fly tied out with vents open.

Love ours! The only thing not to like is the bright yellow fly we got ours in which does not lend itself to stealthy should we care too.

I own this tent. I've had it for 2 years. Excellent tent! I also have quite a bit of Teton Sports products. This tent is great for 3 seasons only. Headroom is very generous. Doors are spacious, and allow plenty of room to enter and exit. I like the vestibules, and the ability to open only half of it, or all of it. Ventilation is fantastic for, again, 3 seasons. Overall, and excellent tent at a budget price. I've had no issued with mine, and really enjoy it. I would recommend this tent.

@@CampingGuidance I'm liking this more than any other brand and design for a 3 person tent. Basically it has all of the features I wanted which are; it's waterproof, gear loft, pockets, double wall, vestibule, double door, canopy ventilation, and within price range. The one thing missing is an electrical pass through. I'm sorry I forgot what it's technically called.

I finally bought this tent. Unfortunately, it's missing a loop for the gear loft to hook on to. But everything else checks ok. 😂

The worst thing about this tent is the condensation on the inside. Anything touching the floor is damp. Ground sheet and the rain fly tied out with vents open.
