Dam couldn't do a little transmission SERVICE soon u left the auction? Dam N like you are a RIP OFF this is why I wouldn't never buy a car from my own people
Ray, lemme tell you something, under no circumstances should you remotely feel questionable about your purchase. That LeSabre has a totally awesome, bulletproof, 3800 V6. They perform well. Good power, great gas mileage (30+ miles per gallon on the highway) super F@#$ing reliable! That engine has been produced in one form or another from 1961-2009. I will put a Buick 3800 up against anything Toyota, Honda, the Germans, or anybody else has offered. You gotta understand, my friend that this engine is truly a gem. The transmission, the Hydramatic 4T65-E does have it's issues, but once they are rebuilt, they are VERY stout tranasmissions. Is your Buick worth a transmission rebuild? In the clean, rust free, beautiful interior, state that your car is in... YES!! The 3800 V6 will withstand a Nuclear Holocaust! I can't go on enough on how EXCELLENT AND AWESOME THAT ENGINE IS. Now, if only Cadillac's Northstar was as reliable!
Amen I had a 98’ Oldsmobile LSS 3.8L died at 378,xxx miles and the engine still won’t blow up. I tried. Now I have a 98’ Buick Riviera 3.8L Supercharged with 167,xxx miles and I want to use this Lucas tranny fix because you can’t launch in first gear
I'm glad you got the lucus slick but I think you should have a transmission fluid and filter change done on it to, the fluid was very dark and low. You wouldn't believe how much that would help stop the slipping and hard shifting. You did good not doing anything but try to make it better. Do good reap good.😃💯🔥 Keep hustling my brother. 💪😎 Be Blessed.
Oh never change the fluid in a slipping transmission. Any mechanic in the world will tell you that. If it’s slipping and you change it then it prolly won’t drive again
@@robertwinnall8120 Don't do a full flush. a regular change will take just a little fluid out at a time, but the thick lucas is still best to put in, no real need for a change if you do that either way imo. It has a consentrated level of what breaks down in the fluid anyway, and you won't risk removing as much of that needed old fluid. Also you cant use the manual for years after the auto gives. lol
This guy is driving a car with no transmission fluid in it and you guys pay to take his advice how to buy a car come on nice guy but he has no idea what he is doing
Bro, you got a lot of haters watching your channel. Fools in the last video being critical of your purchase. Instead of being proud of you for getting out here, making it happen, they were happy when the battery died. I am proud of you, bro. I am twice your age, but you inspire me. And definitely make the haters your greatest inspiration!
At least do a transmission service (new filter, new fluid). Isn’t that jive bad business to sell a car to someone when you know there is an issue with the car?
Ray, u my boi so I am going 2 keep it 💯 wit ya. Don't sell dat car 2 nobody unless u tell them the transmission is going. U got 3 options: Give it 2 ur little bro, use it as ur second car, sell it 2 Bruce so he can fix and sell it.
Those clutch packs are toast, especially since you drove it so far on low fluid. People are saying to change the filter and add new fluid, but that's only going to make it worse at this point. It's also very likely that a hard part got screwed up...
Please explain...clutch packs toast? I'm working on a 4T65E Transmission right now on a different Buick. Forward band broke. However, it shifted hard on me for months. I'm taking it apart and was told I should change clutch plates as well.
@@kingphillieman 90% percent of the time the bucking and hardshifting is the result of worn out clutches. Clutch friction is needed for the transmission to shift properly. That's why removing it completely with a fluid and filter change will only make it worse at this point. Sometimes it'll help if the internals aren't that bad or it's just a clogged filter, but believe me this guy's transmission is toast. I don't know how far he went but it's seemed like he drove a long time from CO parts to his house with no fluid. Three things will destroy a transmission, a non working pump, broken hard parts or driving it on low fluid.
When you check out the cars at co part or iaa you never check the trans fluid level or to see if it's burnt you need to ad that to your inspection list when checking out the cars 100%
Here's what you need to do I know the check engine light might not be on but put your computer on it and just clear the codes anyway because the transmission thinks because it was low on fluid that it's in tow mode that's why it shifts hard
I was skeptical about this product but it worked! My car was slipping into 3rd. I thought Lucas didnt work because it takes about 1 week driving for it to work.
Drain transmission fluid there is 16 metic bolts underneath. And than change transmission filter with fresh fluids sub one quart of oil for that Lucas transmission slip fluid and it should fix it.
Never change fluid on a slipping trans as soon as you give it fresh clean thinner oil will only cause worse symptoms immediately he did it right throw some lucas stop slip and pray for the best
Whenever u add Lucas or any atf additives..... drive it for at least100 miles (despite bottle saying its usually instant) then recheck level, observe for improvements when driving.... i know cause i use Lucas (for high millage vehicles i buy) and ATP stuff .... (the ATP 202 , not so much as a repair but to rejuvinate left over fluid , should there be any, after my routine trans drain and fill.) 😎 The more u drive it... the more even it mixes with the rest. Plus sometimes there are air bubbles ... when parked overnight .... it will disappear (from time of adding) end result ... drives better without it 😉
I know these have a problem with the solenoid in the transmission but what I have been told is that once you change the fluid it'll make the band slip now I don't know if you can keep your old fluid and put it back in after you replace the solenoid but maybe that'll fix the problem in
Another trick- if you change the filter & fluid, Lucas and a couple quarts of the Ford "Type F" fluid will firm up the shifts. If it is screwed, that won't help, it's a "Hard parts" issue.
Someone can put a Transmisson in that car and have a really good car. That car will last a long time and they will not have a car note. I know some people talk bad about this guy. This guy is Honest he didn’t even have to show us this Video

4t60e, 4t65e have EPC solenoid problems. The sub frame has to be lowered. Then, the side pan has to be removed.
